here is tabbie’s modern backstory as well bc u also weren’t specific! i developed this one w bella as well however i think this one is a bit more of my own tho i recommend u ask bella for her take bc she’s iconic and her backstories are all iconic

tabatha’s parents put her up for adoption when she was a baby so she spent pretty much her whole life in the system. she never met them and she doesn’t care about them. because she was raised knowing her parents left her, she had a lot of issues w adults in general and bc of this she had trouble connecting w just one foster family. she jumped from foster home to foster home and didn’t stay in the same place for more than a few months at a time. she’s been all around the uk with different families and stuff.

when she was about thirteen she was put in a foster home w another orphan named victoria, who was about two years younger than her. the two of them decided to run away together. they viewed each other as sisters and they loved each other a lot. they even dedicated their middle names to each other! before this they didn’t really have any legal middle names but they decided to remember each other through their names forever. tabatha victoria dedwin and victoria tabatha campbell. tabbie cared for victoria and taught her everything she needed to survive like how to find food and how to steal if necessary. victoria reminded tabatha how important books and reading were and taught that sometimes it’s okay to take a break and read for a while.

(trigger warning: death) when victoria was sixteen, she was hit by a car and died, and this shattered tabatha. she was forcibly admitted to a mental ward as recommended by victoria’s doctors. here as she recovered she met harold pudding and she decided she wanted to study psychology to help people like her and the friends she’d met. when she got out of the ward she went to school to help her prepare for uni since she had missed all of the years when she would have studied for her gcses & a-levels, and then was admitted into university for psychology. she started taking up multiple jobs on the side and got herself a flat as she studied. she tries not dwell on the loss of victoria and attends therapy every week to help herself through that but it still hurts obviously. sometimes tabbie feeds the stray cats outside of her flat and every day a lanky orange cat comes to her window to just stare at her. tabbie calls her victoire, after her sister

ALSO she drives a big sexy old red pickup truck she bought from a junkyard and got fixed up. that’s all

and that’s the end i think. i don’t know much about the foster system & school system in britain so i don’t know how accurate it is but there u go!!!

Rewatching the ABH bootleg is a trip because you notice so many new things.

In Down the Hole, the Wonderland characters are dressed as rudimentary versions of themselves both because of staging and to show Alice is not fully immersed in the story as a whole, only in her and Alfred.

Rule 42 actually refers to the courtroom, where no person above a mile high is allowed to reside. Also, Alfred looks very used to, er, managing his flamingo near Alice. His face is almost bored. The Duchess hisses at the poor boy.

Nigel spends the majority of his time crying or sleeping. During the scene before Sick to Death, he freaks out when Alice accidentally sits on his lap, hyperventilating before falling asleep again.

Alfred gasps in surprise and fear when Alice pushes him off the table. His eyes widen, but he can’t find the strength to struggle against the orderlies carrying him off.

The Jabberwocky soldiers armbands have hearts on them. I can’t tell if they’re supposed to represent German soldiers or those Dr Butridge treated and cleared to return to the front. Also, as the Jabberwock, the Dr has eyeliner, but it is clearly wiped away by Shell of Grief.

The Mock Turtles have removed their armbands and put on battered hats, but for the most part everyone is wearing the same basic outfits as Brillig Braelig.

Alfred reappears in a hospital gown, but it is highly unlikely that Nurse Cross would bother with that given that she believes he will die at any moment. Alfred is also considerably softer toward Alice. However, I don’t believe the theory that Alfred is dead at this point and hospital gown Alfred is a figment of Alice’s imagination, as if it was a matter of wish fulfillment the imaginary Alfred would have kissed Alice before announcing the Trial, as a way of acceptance.

Alfred... shoves Alice into her seat for the Trial? Rude. The Jurors clipboards are all marked with the signature bloody handprint hearts of the Queen. Also, the Queen just feels up Alfred in the middle of Isn’t it a Trial. What is it with the adults in this show trying to seduce teenagers?

Alfred lunges toward the Jurors who throw papers at Alice but stops himself. The King also throws a paper plane at her head during DYTWTYA.

The King hides behind the podium at the beginning of I’ve Shrunk Enough. Alfred is controlled with the rest of the actors (minus Tabby) by Alice when she takes back her story before he knocks down the prison walls. He also looks very happy to have an excuse to help Alice whoop the Duchess’ ass.

Alice doesn’t notice the exact moment Alfred passes away.
