“He will. Everything does- death is the only guarantee.” she’s aware that she sounds like Natsume when she says it, but she prays Sophie won’t point such a thing out, for her own mental state. It’s a simple fact regardless, everything is set to die, rotting is a stage that will come regardless of who or what you are- even slasher killers die, even if it’s not set to last. Monsters die, humans die, plants die- everything dies, mentally or physically, death is an unavoidable truth.

“We could argue the ins and outs of a death that doesn’t last, or the permeance of life, all we like but even if someone can’t die physically, mentally is always an option- it’s not the usual form of dying, but it’s dying none the less. You say he won’t die, but who’s to say he hasn’t already?”

With that, she takes a sip of tea, staring up at her mentor through her lashes and over the brim of the mug, blue eyes as dull as ever- but with a light that still showed some form of life, a life that won’t last, but a life that’s there for now.  “Some of us have long since decayed, even if it’s not visible, the rotting has taken hold and changed the way things work- necrosis pauses actions, and thus takes away what little is left.”

“...Or rather, that’s just my opinion.”
