Rashmi Rocket, starring Taapsee Pannu began shooting in Pune earlier in November 2020. The actress has been training nonstop for the role of a sprinter. While the training has been exhausting, the actress has learnt a lot through the process.  Now, the final schedule of the film will begin in Gujarat.

The original plan was to shoot in Rann Of Kutch but pandemic played a spoilsport. After the lockdown last year, the makers reworked the schedule and kicked off the shooting in Pune while waiting for permission to shoot in Gujarat. The team will now head to the location next week for the 14-day schedule.

Rashmi Rocket is written by Nanda Periyasamy, Aniruddha Guha, and Kanika Dhillon. The film is being helmed by Akash Khurana who directed Karwaan. Bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala along with Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya, the film is eyeing a 2021 release.

Taapsee Pannu Is To Be Paired With This Actor In The Romantic Thriller By Anand L. Rai

In the year 2019, Taapsee Pannu has given back to back hits with Badla, Mission Mangal and Saand Ki Aankh. Now, she is busy with the shoots of Rashmi Rocket and Thappad which will release in 2020. According to the reports, she has signed another movie also. It is expected to be a romantic thriller. Mulk actress Taapsee Pannu will be paired with Vikrant Massey in this movie. Previously, Vikrant has been seen in the movies like Lootera, Half Girlfriend and Dil Dhadakne Do. Untitled movie starring Taapsee Pannu will be produced by Anand L Rai in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. Vinil Mathew is the director of this movie. In the past, Vinil Mathew has directed the movie Hasee Toh Phasee starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra. Shooting of the movie may start in 2020.

Regarding the movie, one of our sources has revealed “The makers thought a fresh pair would work in the film’s favour as it will keep the mystery element intact since there will be no preconceived notions about them as a couple. The film will be shot in North India but the location is not finalized yet. But since the story is set in that part of the country, the makers want to keep it authentic.”

Soon, Vikrant Massey is going to begin promotion of his upcoming movie Chhapaak with Deepika Padukone. The movie has been directed by Raazi fame Meghna Gulzar. Release of the movie is scheduled on 10th January, 2020. Through the movie, story of an acid attack survivor will be told. It is based on the life of Laxmi Aggarwal.

Taapsee Pannu starrer Rashmi Rocket will see the actress play an athlete in the film. Now, the makers have roped in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero actor Priyanshu Painyuli opposite Taapsee. He will essay the role of her army officer husband.

Priyanshu Painyuli was supposed to shoot Vishal Bhardwaj's Midnight Children. He had given his dates for the same. But, the movie did not pan out. Eventually, director Akarsh Khurana reached out to Painyuli for the role in Rashmi Rocket as they were friends since the theatre days.

Another reason for Priyanshu to pick up this project was to do the role of an army officer. His father was a colonel and at one point, he wanted to be in the army before he got into dramatics and theatre. He will join the team in Kutch once the schedule begins.

Set in the salt marshes of Kutch, Rashmi Rocket is about a young girl from a village, blessed with a gift. She's an incredibly fast runner. The village fondly knows her as Rocket. When she gets a chance to showcase her talent professionally, she jumps at the opportunity, only to realize that the race to the finish line is peppered with many hurdles, and what seems like an athletic contest turns into her personal battle for respect, honour, and even her very identity.

The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand and Pranjal Khandhdiya. Rashmi Rocket which is based on an original story by Nanda Periyasamy will be directed by Akarsh Khurana and stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead. It will hit theatres early next year. The screenplay for this film will be written by Aniruddha Guha.
