I dressed up like Lena Katina did in t.A.T.u.’s 2013 Japanese Snickers commercial because “you’re not you when you’re hungry.” 🍫❤️
🔥 Hot take: I was a t.A.T.u. fan girl as a y2k kid. I was WAY more into t.A.T.u. during y2k than I was into any of the 90s boybands. Their music helped me feel seen and connect with other queer youths at a time when “gay” was openly used and accepted as an insult. The other t.A.T.u fans I knew were young sapphics like myself. I even recall adult men making fun of them (and us, their fans) often. I still enjoy their music.
