I love that my work gives me flexibility and creativity. I can work when, where, and how I want for the most part. However this week has been so crazy that I didn’t realize today was Friday until about 20 minutes ago. Oops? But I’m excited because the weekend is a good time to try out a new outfit or catch up with people and start preparing some new work. So if anyone is up to something new, or collaborating with someone new and would like to promo it through an interview with me, let me know and I’ll get you scheduled in.

I’ve been asked not to ‘hang around’ or more specifically ‘not hang on’ the pool anymore. #strength #corestrength #pullupinthepool

Check out my all new podcast on picking out a bathing suit; just in time for the first long weekend of the summer. #fashionnotes #bathingsuittips #longweekendvibes

Well everyone, it’s about that time of year again. We’re gearing up for the Memorial Day long weekend, and that means, to most people, the unofficial start of summer. Schools will start ending now; everyone will be in summer mode, if not vacation mode. It also means time at the beach, or a pool, and that means, time to break out the swimsuits, or go buy a new one or two.
Bathing suit shopping is the kind of thing people now almost put on par with going to the Dentist. It can be emotionally painful. But there are a couple things you can do to survive bathing suit shopping and wearing your suit in public. Most of these steps can be used for men as well as women. The first step, is admittedly, very difficult. But don’t compare yourself to anyone else. You’ll notice even in my instagram post to advertise this pod cast, I tried to not use photos of me in a swimsuit. I am wearing one, but it’s mostly obscured by the water.
Don’t look in magazines for ideas, don’t try on something you’ve seen on someone else, real or in print or on tv. Don’t try on the ones you see in posters or on the mannequins in the store. Subconsciously, your mind is going to compare you to that standard the moment you put it on, and you probably don’t need that.
The next step is to know your body type and dress for it. If you are unsure about your waist and want to hide it, a one piece will help. Shirred panels on the suit, details, or dark, solid colors will help. If you are short, or long in the torso, high cut suits, especially bikini bottoms, will make your legs seem much longer. Halter and triangle tops bring attention to your bust if that is an area you want to show off. Bandeau tops will help your bust seem wider, which will help pear shaped ladies appear more balanced and hourglass shaped. Finally, if the girls are large and in charge, go for a top that is cut straight across the top, no ruffles, no plunges, and wide set, thick straps to provide support and help balance you out.
Finally, enhance what you think is your best feature; use a bright color or pattern to highlight a feature you like. Use a solid color to hide or minimize, something you don’t like. To add volume to your hips or bust to make them look bigger and give you more shape, choose a piece that has ruffles or hardware on that piece. Monokini’s are an almost instantly slimming shape right now, and will be everywhere. A fun, small printed one is fun and shows off your legs. Deep plunge ones will show off the girls and help elongate your body.
Until next time; love yourself, and forget the haters. Buy a suit, get out there, and enjoy the summer. And if you are really self conscious, there are also lots of great cover ups out there.

Hunter was surprised to wake up the day after his birthday to a package being delivered to him. His parents had already sent something, and that was about all he'd expected. Still the return address and the handwriting were a dead give away.
He smiled as he brought the package inside and opened it. Inside was a rather large, and printed at Staples or some sort, card from most of his former teammates; the ones that were still competing and vying for a spot on the 2020 Olympic team. The card featured a large wild cat on the front, a bit of a running joke on the team. Hunter read through all the messages scribbled inside, laughing a little at the memories brought up. He grabbed his phone and sent off a text to Rafe Gonzales, who had been someone he trained with both on the National team and before the National team. Rafe had been his roommate once they made the national team and the two of them were close, like brothers. Rafe was also the one Hunter had woken up to after his appendectomy, his parents arriving a couple of hours later.
Hunter ⇆ Rafe:
H:
Make it rain....
H:
Wild cat feeling the love for my birthday. Missing you all.
H:
If you all can break away before or after National trials, come visit.
H:
Thanks for everything.
He took the card and tacked it to the bulletin board above his desk area in the small kitchen, next to a picture of when he'd made the National team four years earlier.
