this is random but a friend of mine actually kinda spoiled role-playing for me because her muse aka saionji was picking on my muse and my muse being who she is, fought back in the most hurtful way possible by breaking something saionji treasured. mind you, this wasn't even an attack at saionji, its in my muse's nature to be shitty in return and my friend acted like my muse was the only guilty party and kept flinging vitriol and hate at her + comments about her tanned skin.
These are definitely asks that are older in my queue. Sorry for not responding to any of them sooner sooner. But I was confused by the word use here and kind of put them aside for later research. Finally went looking for some context.
So like, I was under the impression that a “muse” was someone or something that inspires you in some way. Meaning that these characters would be inspiring you guys to roleplay other characters that are similar, right? Except it sounds like you were actually just straight-up RPing those same characters. So I tried asking a friend group, but they hadn’t ever encountered this context for the word either. Eventually I found this, though. Which I guess gets to the core of it: The “muse” is the character you’re RPing, right? That seems to be a Tumblr-specific interpretation of the word, because if you find other RP-based websites talking about “muses,” they mean something closer to the original definition. I wonder who first decided to reinterpret the word like this?
To make matters even more complex, these asks seem contradictory enough to have not come from a single person, I think? It’s possible that two of them are from one person and one isn’t, but Idk. I guess I’ll respond to each in kind.
Anon 1: Wow, so you and your friend roleplayed a couple of assholes who just were hurtful to one another. That doesn’t like a positive use of anyone’s time to me? It’s just hurting each other by proxy. Now I’m curious who your character was in this scenario.
Anon 2: Now we’re two for two on stories where “Maybe this person isn’t much of a ‘friend’” is the underlying message. It’s actually kind of weird to picture Kokichi and Hiyoko sharing an opinion. Because even if that happened, I think Kokichi would be inclined to pretend it wasn’t true and lie about it. Despite their shared history of tormenting others and using their seemingly innocent appearance to skate by while doing so, I don’t think those two would really get along. I can easily picture Kokichi taking her to task for her behavior, smiling as he criticizes her for doing a lot of the exact same crap he himself does. He’s absolutely in the “I don’t care if my actions contradict my words” camp.
Anon 3: It sounds like your friend who used Mikan as their “muse” didn’t understand her character well at all. They wanted her to be a total “psycho killer” in Chapter 3 of DR2 while still being the exact same character she was in the first two chapters. They want her to just have killed Hiyoko and Ibuki because she seems meek externally but is actually always someone murderous and sinister. And frankly, that kind of thing sounds a lot more close to Toko/Genocide(r) Jack/Syo than it is Mikan Tsumiki (and even then, it’s still not a perfect fit). Also: What kind of RP community allows its characters to murder one another without some kind of resurrection policy? I can’t claim to know much about this sort of thing, so maybe these communities are everywhere.
Moral of the story: Role-playing characters who hurt each other will just make you act legit hurtful or feel legit hurt in real life, I guess.

Onstage Kisses: ver STARISH (pt 2 of 2)!
Part one is available here! This follows a bit of a story so it’s best to read that first if you haven’t already.
Ren was likely a little bit surprised to see that kisses were becoming a thing among the group. Not to say he would be against it, it'd just be unexpected and something that he'd hop on board with right away. A joke or two would be made the first couple of times before any attempts would get ignored entirely, before eventually, his affection would turn to the crowd, like Syo. "I could share a kiss with the sweaty boys here on stage, but my love is only for you, lady~ I'll send my kisses to you instead!" and the like of how he would rather kiss the fans. Of course, he's not going to turn down a chance to tease someone and Syo is his first victim. He leaned just out of reach and pointed to his cheek to motion for a kiss. "If Ochibi-chan can reach, I'll give everyone a kiss - including you, lady~" Naturally, Syo couldn't reach and that was in part due to Ren leaning away. It was a fun event, but not being able to rise to the challenge made Syo pretty angry with him. Eventually, he fell victim to Natsuki and later Cecil - when Syo gave him that kiss on live TV, he was a bit slow to recover. For their next live, he kissed Syo's forehead and then gave everyone a unique kiss. "Last time, Ochibi-chan won our game. I'll give everyone here a kiss.. are you ready for my love?"
Ichinose doesn't take to any kisses on stage in any way, shape, or form -- and everyone leaves him well the hell out of it, too. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Masato make a move toward him for the first time and he turned stiff as a board, resigned to his fate; it made sense Tokiya would be his first choice and he knew exactly what was coming but was willing to accept it. It was something expected of him now, as a professional, for the fans. He was surprised to see Masato dart away, but that was the end of it for several lives. Until Cecil. Cecil was the one to introduce him to the new tradition. Like with Masato and Cecil, the transfer of emotion completely changed his opinion on it and all he could feel in that moment was an overwhelming love for STARISH and gratitude toward his fans. Nobody expected the tears to come and he fought them hard, but soon his sobs stole his voice and he missed out on several lines. His bandmates had to step in and sing for him in support and soon their choreography was mostly forgotten as they tried to help Ichinose keep it together. Ren attempted to ease the atmosphere and the concern from their fans with some light-hearted jokes, but the tears kept coming. Emotional hugs were passed between all members at appropriate moments through the live. He managed to collect himself eventually, but not before heartfelt speeches were made and the entire crowd was reduced to tears first. Repeats later occurred with both Syo and Masato. It happened a fourth time with Otoya, which resulted in emotional Tokiya pulling a watchful Reiji from the wings of the stage quite unexpectedly. Reiji managed to close the floodgates after about twenty minutes, but he and Otoya couldn't leave Tokiya or he'd start up again, so they were clung to his side. Since then, he's entirely avoided when it comes to kisses; but everyone holds his hand instead! The only exception to this rule is Natsuki; with his deep-pressure, one-armed hugs and meaningful but momentary kisses. Otherwise, he is an emotional wreck and nobody goes near him.
Cecil is largely to 'blame' for all this, confusing unintentional interaction between Otoya and Natsuki (as well as the screams of the fans) to be some form of a cultural thing. Of course, he was happy to partake! It started with words toward his Princesses, but his kisses are passionate and soul-warming. Usually peppered around the face, he changes the hearts of those he kisses and each kiss is unique. Natsuki gets them on the tip of his nose or chin, generally three or four at a time. He chases Syo and Ren down and kisses wherever he can manage. He greatly enjoys waiting for the moments where the 'Tokiya hand-holding session' takes place. That's his favourite because sometimes they all hold each others' hands in a circle and Cecil will lift the hand of whoever he happens to be latched onto and kiss the back of their fingers. It's his 'princely kiss.' He offers his microphone to Otoya, kissing the outside of his wrist when Otoya offers his own to Cecil. All his kisses are playful but in no way chaste. Sometimes he feels like his affections aren't welcomed or like he's done something wrong, but his interaction with Masato and hearing his breathy 'thank you' shredded any doubt in his mind and stepped on it. He now hears that in his head with every kiss he places and is always happy to get them from other members - he'll return it tenfold. He was the first to get the 'special hug' from Natsuki and was proud to brag about it, sharing how wonderful it was. Nobody believed him, but when others were getting it more than Cecil, he pouted. That was -his- hug! Natsuki, sweet darling that he is, didn't understand what Cecil was talking about and is now the common subject of the entirety of Natsuki's weight being flung against him from across the stage with kisses placed to every inch of his face. He runs, hiding behind Syo (and stealing kisses as he's behind him!! The tips of Syo's ear, or just behind it! Arms around his waist! Cecil and Natsuki gang up on Syo together!) Poor Cecil was ultimately confused when Ichinose reacted the way he did. A string of apologies were offered and as someone who struggles to grasp the concepts of Japanese, the murmur-ridden, sob-filled, tearful speech had Cecil bluntly asking for things to be repeated and more slowly. (Tokiya complies, but cries more.) Syo had to translate for Cecil and Ren teased him for 'being so harsh on Icchi'. He did feel awful after and curled on Ichinose's lap like a cat at the end of that live, but is now afraid to even make eye contact with him while they're on stage.
Here’s the last of STARISH! I finished this a while ago and drafted it instead of queueing it I guess, so I cleaned it up and tossed it in the queue. Sorry this took a while! This was influenced by a blog who accepted a HC request for STARISH fanservice onstage, but I don’t recall the blog so I can’t credit them properly for inspiration. (Of course, 6th live heavily influenced Ichinose.) I’d love to do a Quartet Night, but I don’t know how well that would go. I don’t think I’ll be doing HEAVENS anytime in the near future, 7 is a lot to do and there’s other things I want to write for them.

🤝 and Celeste!!
TEAMWORK IS DREAMWORK ! / ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡ celestia ludenberg .
01 . WHO TEXTS THE OTHER MEMES AT 3AM ?
genocider syo ; celestia does send the occasional cat meme , or a really unsettlingly cryptic text , but always within the reasonable hours of 6am through 11pm .
02 . WHO TRIES TO CONVINCE THE OTHER TO DO SOMETHING THAT IS DEFINITELY QUESTIONABLE ?
oh , fair game . celeste has a better chance of convincing syo to do anything morally objectionabe , and vice versa . fukawa’s arm wouldn’t be so easily twisted .
03 . WHO IS THE DESIGNATED DRIVER , AND WHO ALWAYS GETS WASTED ?
... i feel like celestia can hold her liquor really well . she’d take three shots straight and not bat an eye ; fukawa , by contrast , is sobbing on the floor after a glass of wine .
04 . WHO ALWAYS HAS TO HOST THE IMPROMPTU SLEEPOVER ?
even split . fukawa does if she’s busy and can’t tear herself away from her safe writing space ; celestia’s if grand bois is being snotty and won’t leave the room .
05 . WHOSE NETFLIX ACCOUNT GETS MOOCHED OFF OF ?
celestia wouldn’t let anyone see her netflix queue , so it has to be fukawa’s . they watch young adult fiction on days where the self loathing is particularly strong .
06 . WHO SUPPLIES THE SNACKS , AND WHO BRINGS THE MOVIE ?
it’s tea ; no snacks , just tea . if celestia is feeling serfish , she might make the tea herself . movie duty changes hands , but fukawa usually picks .
07 . WHO APOLOGISES FIRST AFTER A FIGHT ?
i don’t see either of them being particularly conceding in this respect . celestia might apologise to save face ; if she actually feels guilty , make it up later . if fukaw’s at fault , she cracks .
08 . WHO IS THE ‘ MOM FRIEND ? ’
celestia . fukawa’s lack of self care would be more of a nuisance to celestia , but she’d be more prone to asking if fukawa had slept , eaten , etc . cat owners , man .
09 . WHO CALLS THE OTHER AT 12AM TO WISH THEM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITHOUT FAIL ?
neither . birthdays are mutually acknowledged , but neither of them make a big deal out of it . gifts are quietly exchanged when they encounter each other in passing .
10 . WHO IS THE BETTER WINGMAN TO THE OTHER ?
hi hello fukawa is a terrible wingman and should not be trusted . for all she’s an expert in literary romance , it doesn’t translate . celeste is way smoother . fight me .
11 . IN , ‘ THE STRONG MUST PROTECT THE SWEET , ’ WHO’S STRONG AND WHO’S SWEET ?
fukawa is the strong , celestia is the sweet ... whether the latter is genuine or not , that’s the role she casts herself . fukawa saved that woman’s cat ; she’ll stand up for celestia too .
12 . PULLS THE OTHER UP AT KARAOKE TO DO A DUET TOGETHER ?
catch both of them at the back of the bar , silently judging the people who are actually singing .

Analysis: SWTOR Today v. The 2014 Leak
Back in May of 2014, an anonymous user made a post on reddit titled “The Future of SWTOR” that supposedly containing behind-the-scenes information on upcoming gameplay and narrative plans for everyone’s favorite / least favorite / only current option for a Star Wars MMO. Almost three years later, I thought it would be interesting to see how the predictions panned out. The original “leak” can be found here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/26jrrf/the_future_of_swtor/
For the sake of analysis, I am going to be extremely optimistic and assume this post was not a troll/fake post, though I fully concede that it is a possibility. Even if it wasn’t a fake leak, much can change within 3 years and a lot of what is stated in the reddit thread sounded ambitious even back in 2014. That said, there are some elements in the information presented that seem to have at least some interesting connections to how things are now in 2017.
For narrative context, the leak was posted just after the first of the Forged Alliances patches were deployed in April 2014. Shadow of Revan would not be announced until October of the same year and would not be released until December.
Max level at the time of the leak was still 55 (Shadow of Revan would later bring it up to 60, KOTFE up to 65 and KOTET up to 70).
SPOILERS FOR SWTOR & CURRENT STAR WARS CANON FOLLOW:
I will examine each part of the post, quoting from the original thread as below:
Star Wars: Prelude to Darkness
A bunch of us ended up being privy to some meetings that were meant to be kept secret from us, so I should be safe and anonymous enough to share this information. I’m only doing this because I love this game and I think the plans to keep all of this secret until the last moment are only to the game’s detriment. I’m not actually a super lore-nerd, so I might miscommunicate some of what I heard—I tried SO hard to get this accurate and to remember as best as I could for you guys.
First off, it’s not clear if the title “Prelude to Darkness” is in reference to the upcoming expansion or if it was just the title the poster chose to use for his leak. If it was the former, obviously we now know that was incorrect. Shadow of Revan would be the title of the next expansion.
EA and Disney have a brilliant plan for SWTOR. It will be upgraded to canon in the next expansion and will have some subtle tie-ins with Star Wars 7. (Specifically, a certain planet will be used and lord Vitiate will be an off-screen influence on the main villain of 7).
No upgrade to canon has arrived, at least not by any definitive move on the part of Disney (or EA, for that matter). It’s also unlikely - though not impossible - that tie-ins exist between SWTOR and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I have a baseless speculation that Zakuul might somehow be related to Jakku (Korriban is referred to as Moraband in Disney canon, so there is precedence for planets taking on multiple names), but I fully concede this is not probable. Also, whether or not Vitiate is an off-screen influence on Force Awaken’s antagonists has still not been definitively ruled out, but that’s only because we still know very little about those villains (Kylo Ren/Snoke) at this point.
The first step, although it won’t be obvious how, to SWTOR’s ending has begun in Forged Alliances.
As far as we know (or at least from the latest developer livestreams), SWTOR’s ending is not in the immediate future. That said, we did recently see the ending of SWTOR’s longest recurring villain and antagonist, and the root of that defeat definitely began in Forged Alliances. Vitiate/Valkorion wasn’t even really on most of the non Jedi/Sith classes’ radar until the Forged Alliances story-arc, which culminated in Shadow of Revan’s reveal that the Sith Emperor had been reborn on Yavin IV.
The storyline for SWTOR is going to end in about 3.5 years, and the sequel is already in development.
At this point, this statement has not been definitively ruled out yet, though given the state of MMOs as a business model, I am highly suspicious of any sequel talk.
These next 3 years are going to see an increase in funding as the game is brought back in line with initial expectations. There is a fun plan to let SWTOR run for as long as players want it to, with dynamic and scaling end-game content, but focus will shift to SWTOR 2. It will run on the Cryengine 3 Frostbite 3 (sorry I was excited and they look similar to me), so your first preview of how the game might look/run will be Dragon Age 3 later this year.
Hahahaha … ?
The personal stories of SWTOR will continue in the next major Xpac, and they will each have an “ending”. YOUR character from SWTOR will appear in the as-yet-unnamed SWTOR 2 in various forms. Force Ghosts, holocrons, etc. As of right now, only one class appears to be able to survive until SWTOR 2 (Sith Inquisitor), but that might change. These will use your appearance settings and dialogue based on the actions you chose in the game. I will detail what I could gather about the plot later on in this post.
The class stories each had a mission or two in Shadow of Revan. There was no definitive “ending” though, unless you want to count the merging of all the class stories into a single story starting with Shadow of Revan … which I don’t.
Again, talk of SWTOR 2 is only speculation at this point.
There will be a newgame+ option added to SWTOR, some big bonuses for players who use it, and some major tweaks to the leveling experience and early planets. For example, coroscant lets you turn in most quests via holocalls rather than walking back. Newgame+ will be important as some characters that were not previously able to will become companions if certain story options are taken, and same gender romance will be added. It appears LucasArts was the one behind not allowing them in the first place. There will be some hefty rewards and updates to the original game that make going through newgame+ for that new companion romance feel less painful if you don’t want to. For example, a “rocket boots” type move for each class that is specific to each class (SI get to ride the lightning), and a class specific mount granted at level 15, that upgrades to a better appearance at level 30.
The newgame+ feature mentioned here was initially one of the main reasons I chalked this reddit up as fake on initial viewing. Also, I’m all for more SGR’s, but I was skeptical that a new SGR would be the only prominent feature to encourage a newgame+ character. We also have yet to receive class-specific rocket-boots (although that lightning-riding definitely sounds cool).
That said, there are elements here that definitely did happen. We now do have the ability to repeat chapters from KOTFE and KOTET on various difficulty modes, which is kind of like newgame+ I guess?
Further, KOTFE saw the release of a streamlined 1-50 class story playthrough. Quick-travel and fleet-travel had their timers removed to speed up the class stories. Speeder perks reduced the levels needed to access speeders. XP boosts to class quests also removed the need for a lot of the grinding and side missions that were originally necessary to hit max level by playing only the story.
The engine will be heavily revamped, and with the expansion, the game will be brought to consoles as a buy-to-play title with a cartel market. The goal will be to revamp all existing game systems so that everything fits nicely into place as one coherent whole game.
Another reason to suspect this was fake news. This might’ve been an aspirational goal, but engine revamps are impractical and SWTOR has so many abilities for all the classes that it would be impossible to map them all onto a controller / gamepad.
New species—Torgruta, some other ugly thing
Togruta turned out to be true! We have yet to see what some other ugly thing could be. No new races have been announced since Togruta. For reference sake, togrutas would not be speculated on until late 2014 and officially announced until 2015 (make of that what you will).
Gameplay/expansion features:
-Most level 60 content will involve cross-faction queues, when story appropriate.
The PVP-centric Odessen-Proving Grounds is - as far as I am aware - the only cross-faction queue content. Other warzones and operations’ queues are sadly still limited to members of your character’s faction.
-There will be some cross-faction planets where you can work cooperatively with the other faction. On PVP servers, you can flag yourselves PvP on these planets anyway.
Odessen exists as a strictly cross-faction planet, although there is not much you can do cooperatively.
-New action mode that allows mouselook and changes some of your move to macros to reduce your number of keybinds.
No new action mode or macros access exist as far as I am aware. At least, not ones that are permitted by the developers. Companions were largely revamped from having their own stats to the Influence system though.
-Can use appearance changer on most companions, including species change.
Rather than allowing us to change the appearance of our companions, most of our companions nowadays can’t even change their gear, much less their species.
-Same sex romance for most companions, including a few new romance options (Jaesa Lightside is one)
Many of the newer companions featuring romances have same-sex options (Lana, Theron, Koth). None of the original class-story companions have new same-sex options.
The Ending of SWTOR:
-Lord Vitiate has regained his power for the most part. His 300 year link to Revan allowed him to subsume Revan at the end of Foundry. (The two are now one, mostly integrated personality, although both sides will have chances to flash to the forefront). He has also been able to absorb power from the “deaths” of many powerful force users. (Spoilers: Darth Thanaton, for example, and Lord Baras if you’re on a Sith Warrior who didn’t spare him, same thing for Syo Bakarn and many other characters, Jadus, etc. You kill a lot of powerful Sith, and apparently the Emperor had their essences on tap. Choosing to spare various Sith will make Vitiate a bit weaker for your account).
-Vitiate has assembled a host of what are basically all the enemies that have been fought in SWTOR—Directive 7, some dread stuff, some cosmic horrors. Not all of them realize they are directly controlled by him, instead acting as puppets, but they serve his purposes.
This is entirely wrong, as we would later learn in Shadow of Revan. It is actually Revan - as a distinct entity - that spurs the Emperor’s resurrection. He was never subsumed. There is also no indication in anything from SoR, KOTFE, or KOTET that suggests the Emperor has the power of your defeated enemies on tap. And while Vitiate did have an entire separate Empire hiding away in Wild Space, we did not have to rehash through previously-defeated antagonists (except for in the metagame, where we have been fighting the same operations bosses for the last 2+ years).
-NEW CLASS STORIES: Each of the 8 characters will take on a major role in opposing Vitiate’s new attempt to absorb all life in the galaxy and become a God.
This … technically happened? All 8 classes had new class missions in Shadow of Revan and they did all “take on a pivotal role” opposing Vitiate, starting with the Rise of the Emperor game update, and continuing through KOTFE to KOTET.
Interesting, many characters and companions will appear in each other’s stories, and will make the dialogue choices that your character would based on LS/DS alignment.
This is also true, if only because many companions have become so prolific as required by the KOTFE and KOTET stories.
Some combinations will even have flirt options and such, which is fun, and some dialogue options will change based on how your characters are placed on the family tree (for example, rude options chosen if they are a rival, some indication of family/alliances/relationships between others. No, you wont be able to flirt with family, even if this is star wars).
This doesn’t make any sense. The family tree applies only to your own characters, not any of their companions. The reason you can’t flirt with familial characters is because that would require you playing more than one character at a time and within the same cutscene.
Story spoilers:
The planetary story arcs will all deal with differing elements of fighting Vitiate and what he is doing. Many planets will be returned to for new level 55+ content
This turned out to be somewhat true. We did return to many planets in KOTFE and KOTET, but that was ostensibly to fight Arcann and Vaylin, not Vitiate specifically, who is “killed” and reduced to a spirit in our mind at the end of Chapter 1 of KOTFE.
Korriban and Tython are important because Vitiate gets some powers from these planets, and some ancient droids/force-weapons.
I don’t know anything about ancient droids/force weapons from Korriban or Tython, but we do see the sacking of Korriban as part of Arcann’s invasion.
At this point, the thread goes into specific details of upcoming class stories. I won’t address them individually or even post them here, because - as we now know - there are no specific class stories after Shadow of Revan, so all of it has been proven untrue. They also focus on Vitiate being the primary antagonist, which we now know is false. Arcann and Vaylin served as the main villains of KOTFE and KOTET respectively. While the Emperor did ultimately “reveal” himself as an antagonist in the final chapter of KOTET (it was so obvious), it would be a stretch to say that the majority of KOTFE and KOTET were about trying to defeat the Emperor.
If you want to read these fake storylines, here’s another link to the reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/26jrrf/the_future_of_swtor/
-Elder game content will involve rebuilding the galaxy, as the Republic and the Sith Empire have basically crumbled, and the galaxy will now be lawless.
This is kind of the case now as we look at things after the story of KOTET. Both the Republic and the Sith are working to rebuild after finally being freed from the Eternal Empire’s control.
-The final patch of the game will involve Warlords rising to power.
Uprisings, anyone?
This will be to set up the next Star Wars MMO, which will take place about 100 years later, in a time period where the Republic and Sith Empire do not exist as they do now. Players will instead choose between multiple factions that have various relationships with each other. The Republic will be a monarchy that exists mostly only on Coroscant with influence on few other worlds, but will be able to be partially restored as the next game progresses. The Sith forces will be divided into multiple factions. The coolest thing will be seeing YOUR character get imported into the next game. Some scenes will just be via recorded holos—such as the BH taking down Vitiate. But some of the characters will have a major role. The Sith Inquisitor character will remain alive and well due to absorbing Vitiate’s power, and will be a major player on at least one planet of the next MMO. The JK Force Ghost will be influential.
More sequel talk, so it’s only speculation.
So there you have it … some of the elements from this “leak” did indeed prove to be real. A lot more ended up not happening or to not be true, especially concerning the individual class stories. Can I say definitively that the “leak” was a fake one? I don’t think so. I think it’s still possible that changes occurred mid-development that could have scrapped what could have been initial plans for the next phase of SWTOR at the time. But it’s definitely also possible that this was just someone shooting in the dark with their own speculations.
Either way, I had fun looking at this thread again and imagining what SWTOR might’ve been.
