“OK, flyboy.” She agreed, patting him on the shoulder indulgently.  What had started as an encouragement for him to take a shower to sober up had turned into Hal forgetting to take his clothes off and taking a shower instead.  After twenty minutes, Dinah’d figured she’d better check on him, make sure he hadn’t passed out standing up, and thank goodness he hadn’t bothered to lock the door.  He definitely put soap on his shirt, that much was obvious. 

“OK, looks like your clothes as clean, let’s get you out of them so they can dry out--” and maybe Hal would too in the process.

what are diana's thoughts on batman having children fighting crime alongside him?

     realistically, and without the input of self insert-y pro-bat writing along the way, i think diana disagrees with his decision to do so. is it a little hypocritical? to some. not to her. donna and cassie are not your everyday human children plucked off the street, and are not subject to the same unfortunate mortality the young people around bruce are. children should be raised in an environment that allows them to enjoy life before life forces them to grow up. i don’t think she would ever be successful in challenging him over it, but in a perfect world i imagine diana wouldn’t want children to be in gotham at all until it’s safe to do so. protect the babies.

Dick walks into the cave and clears his throat. “Hey B can I take Halloween off? Oh and can Damian beg off too? Tim said he’d patrol with you and I want Damian to experience trick or treating for the first time.”

            Currently  overlooking  an  ongoing  case,  ever  the  workaholic,  Bruce  turns  his  attention  to  Dick  when  the  other  speaks.  Halloween  tended  to  be  a  closely  watched  day,  especially  when  certain  Arkham  patients  loved  to  terrorize  the  streets.  Perking  a  brow,  he  wonders  if  Damian  will  even  want  to  go  trick  or  treating.  The  kid  usually  scoffed  at  ideas  of  what  a  normal  child  should  be  doing,  but  Bruce  understood  the  sentiment  of  wanting  to  try  anyway.  &&  who  knows,  he  might  even  enjoy  himself.  The  thought  of  not  being  there  for  his  first  Halloween  made  his  heart  lurch,  but  how  could  he  leave  Tim  to  patrol  Gotham  alone  ?

             “  Of  course,  Dick.  I’ll  make  sure  Damian  doesn’t  try  to  talk  his  way  out  of  going.  What  are  you  two  planning  to  dress  as  ?  ”

BREAKING NEWS! 

Everyone’s TV set in the city switched to the Emergency channel which was now casting a woman tied to a chair in front of the power plant.

“We’re here...l-live from the-the Gotham City p-p-power plant--” the new caster read shakily off a set of cue cards off screen, her mascara was running down her face and her lipstick had been smudge presumably because of a gag that had once been in her mouth. 

“Louder!” a voice whispered angrily off screen, “And with more confidence.”

“We-we have a sp-special g-g-g--”

“Jesus Christ! Do I have to do everything around here?”

The camera was moved hastily off of the woman and now was pointing at the main event. His white face had a painted red smile that framed his large grin--despite the anger and frustration behind it. This evening wasn’t going as perfectly as he had planned, but it would all be fine. As long as a certain masked vigilante got the message.

“GOOD EVENING, GOTHAMITES! 

“Now I know what you must be thinking, ‘Joker why did you interrupt prime time TV I was just about to find out how Dark Arrow’s GF survived?!’ Don’t worry kid, that’s a bad show, and tonight we’re here to show you the original Dark Arrow...the Batman!” An applause track plays to emphasize the moment. “That is...”--a collective gasp--“if he accepts our invitation. hehhehheehee... 

“The Dark Knight himself has ten minutes till I blow the power plant sky high, throwing Gotham into darkness. But if he gets here in time, boy, you guys will be in for a show tonight! HAAAHAAHAA!”

trying? steph raises a judging brow at the other. she can hardly see why kara feels like she has to try at all to be beautiful     that already happens effortlessly, every single day. which doesn’t seem like something stephanie can straight up tell her, though. as true of a statement as it was, it could possibly come off too heavy-handed.

so she smiles, that usual steph smile of hers     bright and encouraging, and hopefully able to convey what she can’t in words. “well, mission accomplished, then.” it’s more casual-sounding, but no less meaningful than what she truly intended to say. “you look very beautiful.” a quick snap of her fingers, index finger raised up as her lips curl up into a playful smirk. “super beautiful, one could say.”

they had just come back from another mission with the league. It’s always the three of them that were the last to go. Or specifically, the other two too stubborn to leave him alone. Whether out of the world’s security or his own, he can’t exactly be certain yet. Brows creased as he sat down and leaned back with a long groan, the exhaustion in his muscles finally making themselves known when he feels the perch of two stares probably assessing every presumed bone out of place. 

( There was probably only one or two ─ he definitely had a dislocated shoulder he’ll get Alfred to fix later if they don’t stop staring. )

               she doesn’t think twice about it.   the necklace is so pretty   ,   it sparkles so nicely.   it’s got a big   ,   hefty price tag and harley knows she’d never be able to afford it.   she’d wanted a present for ivy   ,   for tolerating her bullshit for so long.   she’d barely even smashed the glass and got the necklace between her fingers when she hears the tell tale sound of a cape behind her.   a loud groan   ,   head rolling back as she does so.   her foot stomps on the ground   ,   necklace curling around her fingers   ,   the big tear drop diamond held tightly in her fist   ,   as she folds her arms over her chest. she turns   ,   red lips formed into a pout.   she wonders how quickly she can get out of this   ,   if it’ll end to a trip to the GCPD or if she can talk her way out.   fighting doesn’t seem like much of an option   ,   he’s got muscle mass   ,   height AND experience on her.   she just has her weapons and basic knowledge of fighting.   “   don’t be a buzzkill   ,   b - man.   i barely broke my parole.   “   theft is a very large breach of her parole   ,   but that’s non-consequential.   “   i promise i won’t do it again   !!   “   she’s a pathological liar   ,   he’d have to be completely off his rocker to believe her   !!   it doesn’t stop her from trying   ,   though.   “   i’ve been so good   !!   i’m absolutely certain ya can turn yer cloak and leave me be   !!   “                                                                           @syntaktis​

“You.” He doesn’t even have to think about it.  There’s a whole lot that goes into his relationship with Dick that doesn’t factor into his relationship with Wally -- but that’s not something he’s about to admit to out loud when he can just as easily say, in the most loving way possible. “Wally’s an idiot.”
