in my case, i would say my first three thoughts about suki is:

she's a combo of shoujo and shounen protagonist vibes: idealistic, compassionate, naive, and very strong willed

even though she based her identity off of what she remembered of her parents, she ultimately created herself. everything she is now is the result of hard work and obsession.

ultimately is true to herself. what you see on the outside is what you'll get on the inside :'D

As for my partners, i do think that their perception of her more or less matches mine...if they didn't i don't think we'd be writing together for nearly as long as we have 😅

that being said, here's what i think tends to come across for most for them in my portrayal:

pink! lots of pink and unapologetically girly and feminine in appearance

compassionate!! would be the first to jump in to help someone/approach someone even if they seem intimidating

must be protected!! at all costs!! ( even though she can carry herself just fine <3 it's kind of like the feeling of 'i know you can take care of yourself but bc i love you, you'll never have to do so alone' :'D )

Hi! To be honest, it's... Different. 😅 I have been dealing with many changes but I actually find that this new life is quite nice. I stay with Syzoth in Outworld, living in his little house that came with his job as the Empress' emissary. They don't know what I am though. Like Syzoth, I change my form to look like a normal girl. people can do what they want although i personally don't understand when they make their icons so small that you have squint just to see the expressions...like?? the point of icons for me is to give a visual of how the character might be reacting and if i can't see that then it's kind of a waste of space :/

as for styling though....i do like that?? like it's an opportunity to showcase more of a character's aesthetics thru iconing and especially if you make your own icons it is also a great way to safeguard your work from thieves....i personally don't use it bc i tend to write from a lot of different monitors and so it's not as useful for me to have all my icons in just one laptop :'DDDD

Also, I wanna point out that Synnibear is also trying to say that she owns the rights to Scootaloo.

I think this is a slip up on her part and she meant that she owns the RIGHTS to the Ponytale AU Scootaloo (Ya know, that one comic series she made where she basically shipped Scootaloo with Sans). But I'm just gonna say that yeah, she does own the Ponytale AU design for Scootaloo however (you may disagree with me) but people are allow to reclaim the design by simply redesigning it and separating from the OG creator after said creator end up being outed and since there's ya know, people who are attached with the character and such (but don't support the og creator) then they can in fact separate the art from the artist.

Kinda like how I been doing with stuff like Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss, Muffins/Muffins side story, Fluffle Puff and so on, and plus Scootaloo isn't even Synni's oc.. it's literally just Scoots as an anthro pegasus being shipped with Sans for some reason. And lastly, Synnibear retired her PonyTale Scootaloo character anyways :/

THE SYNNI DRAMA (WARNING VERY DARK TOPICS WILL BE IN THIS READ WITH CAUTION)

so…I don’t like bringing up drama but I wanna bring up something considering synni

if you don’t know synni used to be these popular YouTuber in the 2010s going by scootaloo loves sans (which she made her persona a aged up scootaloo and ship her with sans) now I wanna explain the drama she gone threw to minor it worse one

To start it off there was this character named boy from a fnf mod I don’t much about him as I’m no longer into fnf as the fandom grew toxic but ever since synni found this character she literally BECAME OBSESSED with him to the point of disrespecting the creator

to explain boy is aroace in canon but like synni had sexualized him and the creators other character whitty and the creator had shown a lot discomfort with this and synni claimed she wasn’t “gonna use the ocs anymore” but secretly did and she did something with boy and well…I will get into that later

there is also the birdie (who is later named jack) situation but I don’t know a lot about it and plus birdie was groomed as a child back then and surrounded by a lot of very VERY bad people but I suggest looking into it with your own risk as it has really dark shit in it

another thing is that synni has…thing so to explain obviously she is in the undertale fandom now it was weird her persona was scootaloo aged up but I heard she was a child during that but I am taking that with a grain of salt but as she grew more into undertale more she started to simp for nightmare and error which you would think “now whats wrong with that” well…she had made a au of like nightmare kidnapping and forcing her to be his wife and abusing her same goes with error but mostly with nightmare and even imagining them sexually assaulting her it’s really messed up

she had came to explain its cause of maladaptive daydreaming which I feel off by cause I have it but I don’t imagine being sexually assaulted now don’t say “well just because you have it doesn’t mean it’s not normal for people with that” I understand that but still it’s really strange even considering the other things she has done

(EDIT: I was told she was 16 when this happened)

she had also posted very suggestive art to minors on discord I don’t remember much because I don’t wanna go back and look in the doc cause it honestly made me genuinely uncomfortable and sick but it didn’t made me as sick as the other major stuff

So I’m gonna bring up the comic what comic you may ask well remember I mention about boy? Well she had made this comic about him and nightmare basically she had boy kidnapped nightmare and basically full on sexually assault him many times and treat him like garbage cause she made nightmare treat her like garbage I don’t remember much what happened but it honestly really triggered me especially when I was in the undertale fandom nightmare was a huge comfort character to me as I relate to him and seeing my comfort character being portrayed as a sexual assault victim honestly made me almost cry I luckily had my best friend on the call comforting me while we saw this cause we just discovered the drama on call

now last but not least the biggest piece of drama of them all

so basically she is currently getting into backlash for grooming and sending porn to a 14 year old and also threatening to kill her soon to be ex roommate jack which is so fucking sick I won’t get into much detail into this much but if you wanna know more read the documents

I suggest to read it with caution cause the stuff in it is so fucking disgusting

now what is my opinion?

she is obviously NOT mentally well like she needs to get away from the internet and get arrested not just for others sake but herself she practically destroyed her own life and I’m afraid she is actually gonna do something horrible to jack

Now jack aka birdie may have done wrong but he was just a kid when most of the drama happened I don’t support his actions but he doesn’t deserve to be stuck with this clearly mentally unstable woman

HI SYNNIE!! I WANTED TO ANSWER THIS FOR THE LONGEST TIME ( and i also looked at your analysis and that is *chef's kiss* i'll be using a format similar to that though i can't guarantee the length :'D )

ironically, tumblr roleplay is actually one of the reasons i began pursuing writing professionally; beginning of my writing journey on here began back in our lord and savior year 2014 :'D i was writing oc x canon short stories ( we called them oneshots teehee) back on quizilla and even did do a stint of rp thru the shitty messaging. lucky for me, almost all traces of my writing before 2021 have been deleted so i will never have to go through the cringe of other people reading my shitty characters and writing back then :) but let me actually answer the questions here!!

WRITING STYLE

this was pointed out to me by one of my writing professors and something i've come to realize more and more, but i don't describe human bodies. i don't like to either ( i have some suspicions on the root of this too ), but perhaps this is why i like tumblr rp so- we are able to use a faceclaim to represent a character; there's no need give a physical description if a picture can do it for you. for me, if there is description, it's going to be more intentional as is the action itself.

to connect with that point, my writing tends to lean more towards exploring character interiority: how the action of the other muse or even just the presence of the other muse will affect their opinions, their perception. i'm most comfortable with beginning from the interior before branching out into the character's exterior/actual interaction in the moment. this might be the reason why sometimes it feels like my replies are drawn out.

i used to wish i could write metaphorically and lyrically the way say, oc.ean v.uong does. however, i've learned that while i can admire that style, it's not one that comes easily for me. my writing tends to be more on the literal side. if a metaphor or a simile slips in, it was unintentional but it feels right. i think figurative language comes in for me when it comes to describing emotions or sensations my characters might be feeling ( ex. one & two ). i don't like to simply state emotions or intangible concepts; there's only so many ways to state a character is in love, but there are a thousand ways to describe a character in love ( ex. one & two ).

these days and my dear lenlen also pointed this out!! but i also tend to use...parentheses generously ^^' of course this draws out mixed reactions from my readers. here, i assume it's okay, but in my prose when it happens, my critique partners tell me to get rid of it :'D i personally love using both parentheses and the strikeout as it lets me play around with thoughts that my muses perhaps don't want to admit to themselves.

i like to think i've managed to weed out some bad habits that tend to be rampant among tumblr writing. when referring to characters, i will only use either their name or their pronouns. unless it adds to the voice of the muse itself, i'll never use epithets ( 'the female', 'the japanese', etc. ) as they really aren't used in say, published writing. when i was younger, i also used to have a bad habit of using 'she looked'/ eye direction. sometimes i do end up writing those things but i manage to catch myself and cut those sentences out. unless it's a significant action, i always usually assume the reader knows the general eye direction ^^'

CHARACTER VOICE.

one thing i know my mutuals and my critique partners tend to tell me about my writing is that my characters are well-developed, each having their own distinct voices. i do notice that my style/how my response is written does differ depending on which muse i'm writing. below are trends in my writing of certain muses:

annie: lots of imagery and metaphorical language involving water and aquatic life. since she is the mad girl, the idea of 'madness' and 'being good' comes up a lot too. tone is a tad more innocent and there does tend to be a bit more metaphorical language as well; to process her trauma, it's easier on her to think metaphorically or about her childhood than to think literally and to be in the moment.

ga-ram: sentences are shorter, less flowy as they are quite curt. responses of them will also be on the shorter side as they don't usually have as much to say in comparison to some of my other muses. also since they devoted like the last 10 years of their life to helping judge kang, unfortunately, they will think of him and make comparisons.

nell: her replies end up on the longer side, mostly because when she talks, she talks a lot. to reflect her never-ending train of thought and her anxiety, the narration in her replies and her dialogue especially tends to consist of long sentences with lots of dashes and interruptions.

suki: i think i've said this before, but the use of dramatic (and situational) irony comes out the most here. because she's quite set in her ways, but also has a tendency to (majorly) misinterpret a situation, i've found that breaking the fourth wall on occasion helps to contribute to the humor and the light heartedness of her threads. you'll see a lot of declarative sentences and exclamation points here.

patrick: unfortunately, he is a man of literature and therefore, has a tendency to ramble. literally- his responses are almost always like 500+ words. his narration is much more formal, much more...sophisticated? i guess just think of british english ( or at least my best interpretation of it ^^' ) also more metaphorical language here in comparison to the others and plenty of allusions to greek and roman myths since he's well read in both.

OTHER WRITERS.

i'll just start off with saying that i don't think i'd be nearly as good of writer if not for my writing partners. one of the best things about roleplay is that writers here aren't in competition with one another; they have to collaborate if they want to be fulfilled here. that being said here's my list of tumblr writers i would say i learned something from:

cyan ( @bloodxhound ) is one of the first people on this hell*site that i like to think really challenged my writing. there's an elegance and a rhythm to her prose (her word choice specifically) that reads so well...reading her stuff made me want to expand the vocabulary in my own writing, going beyond what is used colloquially in american english.

lenlen ( @ptternminds )'s writing always gives me BRAIN FOOD so you have anyone to blame for me going off the deep end when it comes to character interiority, they're the culprit :3 okay but seriously, their character metas and headcanons go HARD and the fact that they're able to incorporate that kind of analysis of both their own muse and of their partner is incredible. it makes want to figure out how to interpret and incorporate the other muse into my replies.

lynnie ( @geaesaekki ) has a different writing style from mine and i appreciate that. rather than showing everything, it's sometimes more effective to simply tell the reader what they need to know. whereas my writing can get roundabout, lynnie's writing style is more direct, straight to the point. it makes her writing accessible to her partners and that directness is actually something i'm trying to work on here ^^'

WEAKNESSES.

honestly, i feel pretty confident in my writing style on here ( my prose is a very different story ); it's not perfect, but it's mine. That being said, i have a tendency to take too long to get to the action of my threads or even to the main point. because i prefer to show most things rather than tell, it can bog down the pace of my writing and also the speed at which i get my writing done :'D

this goes hand in hand with point one, but i also have a bad habit of overexplaining my character's interiority out of fear of not giving enough context. this is something i've also noticed in my prose ( though i do manage to cut it out of my drafts ^^' ) and am working on. trusting the reader more to pick up the details i want them to.

i also think i might need to get more comfy with describing bodies/physical description? it certainly would make writing sensual scenes a bit easier ^^' as of right now, writing appearances, etc. has always been something i've turned off by. but who knows if that'll change one day.

her name is suki nakamura! i think i have spoken about this before, but suki’s name can have two meanings: (1) beloved and in verb form ‘to like’ and (2) a derivation from the word ‘tsuki’ or moon. 

suki’s name is ironically also derived from both of her parents’ names: daisuke and mizuki. for me, it really emphasizes the fact that at least in her first character arc, she considers herself her parents’ daughter first, rather than being her own person– everything she does, even down to her own name is a reminder of her parents in this sense. this then makes her arc, i think, all the more obvious in that she needs to let go of her parents so that she can become her own person.

Trigger Warning: Mention of grooming

I just learned that Synnibear03, a youtuber that I admired a lot when I was young (back in middle school), turned out to be a groomer. I don't know what else to feel but disappointment. She was one of my biggest inspirations among other animation meme youtubers. She inspired me to make Ocs, animation and stories.

One thing for sure is that I don't think I can forgive her. As much as I REALLY want to forgive her, cause like I said I've been a fan of her since middle school, what she did is wrong and I can't agree with that behavior. I've never been a victim of grooming but I know it can be traumatizing and I wish to no one to go through this, so yeah she won't have my forgiveness.

Anyway Jack, Synni's roommate, made a gofundme so that he can leave to somewhere safe, which is understandable. I thought I could help by posting the link to Tumblr in hope that he can have enough money to move out. Reblog as much as you can too.
