fic OST | halcyon (and on and on)
blurb | rehash from the last of these I posted: it’s me, so ofc there’s a fic OST to accompany the main thing. hereby: the music which has enabled me to go on a 40k (and counting) writing spree, doing bkg dirty (or am I) by having him seethe in a sorry, messy, pining pile (all of his own making) for all & everything that is midoriya izuku.
no spoilers rly, however ost may be interpreted as exploring both bk/dk perspectives, even though halcyon (and on and on) such as it’s been written remains firmly rooted in bkg, and bkg’s pov

Billboard #1s 1976
Under the cut.
Bay City Rollers – “Saturday Night” -- January 3, 1976
They prove they can spell Saturday a lot. Anyway, he's going out to dance with his girl on Saturday night. The song is bouncy to a fault -- I feel like the repetitive, samey beat is following one of those balls the mind-controlled kids bounced in A Wrinkle in Time. It sounds like a cheerleading chant. Something to do aerobics to, not to dance to.
C.W. McCall – “Convoy” -- January 10, 1976
So, besides the cb radio fad, 1976 was also the year of the OPEC oil crisis and basically, it seems the reason truckers became folk heroes evading The Man in popular consciousness had its roots in international relations. Anyway, it's a baritone story song, but about truckers instead of cowboys. I like the verse, "Well, we shot the line and we went for broke/ With a thousand screamin' trucks/ An' eleven long-haired Friends o' Jesus/ In a chartreuse micro-bus." It's a silly song with a lot of trucker lingo (or fake trucker lingo, idk), and I don't exactly dislike it, but I'm not gonna listen to it again either.
Barry Manilow – “I Write The Songs” -- January 17, 1976
It's obvious from the first lines "I've been alive forever/ And I wrote the very first songs" that Barry's not singing about himself. It turns out "music" wrote the all the songs. Except that's obnoxious too. People wrote the songs. Also possibly birds, but definitely people. And it's musical goo.
Diana Ross – “Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where You’re Going To)” -- January 24, 1976
It's a song about regretting letting an ex go, and probably more. There's a ton of orchestration that sounds like it belongs in a lightweight movie, and Diana Ross doesn't put much emotion into it. It is a thoughtful song, rather than one calling for melodrama, but I would like to hear some emotion here, and I am not getting it. A trifle light as air.
Ohio Players – “Love Rollercoaster” -- January 31, 1976
It's a funk/disco thing. I've listened to it three times trying to get anything from it at all. The lyrics are dumb, asserting love is like this or that amusement park experience. I'd think "love rollercoaster" would be about how there are huge highs and terrifying lows, but it's not. It's horribly repetitive. I guess it's danceable. But I find it dull.
Paul Simon – “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” -- February 7, 1976
I love how pared down this song is. It's sort of funky, without all the funk orchestration. The simple drums are the main focus. The melody's also simple, without being dull. And the lyrics aren't complex; a woman is encouraging the narrator to leave his official lover for her. "Just get yourself free." But she's doing it so very nicely -- "I wish there were something I could do to make you smile again." Not that the song expects us to believe she or the narrator actually are nice. Or that it's really all that easy to leave your lover. But it doesn't tell you what to think about the situation either. An excellent song.
Rhythm Heritage – “Theme From S.W.A.T.“ -- February 28, 1976
Apparently, there was a TV show about S.W.A.T., and this was its instrumental theme song. Which is exactly what it sounds like. Not a good TV theme either. I looked up 1976 shows, and here are some shows with better TV themes from that year: Charlie's Angels, Alice, M*A*S*H, Happy Days (which surprisingly only hit #5), All in the Family, Barney Miller, Welcome Back Kotter (which hit #1 later), The Jeffersons (that Movin' On Up doesn't seem to have been a hit is shocking), The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Sanford and Son, The Bob Newhart Show... look, all of them. All shows in 1976 that I can find had better theme songs than S.W.A.T., often to a staggering degree. But songs don't reach #1 for being good. Still, usually I can hazard a reason for them. I can't for this one.
The Four Seasons – “December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night)” -- March 13, 1976
It's about the narrator getting laid for the first time. He didn't even know the name of the woman, which completely undercuts anything happy or fun about this song for me, and makes it icky. At least it's not falsetto. I wasn't born when it came out, yet it was overplayed on the oldies stations in the 90s so much that I developed a deep and abiding hatred for it.
Johnnie Taylor – “Disco Lady” -- April 3, 1976
This is a song about disco that isn't a disco song. As such, it confuses me. It's kind of a mild funk/soul song, and it's about how turned on this guy is watching a woman disco. Johnnie Taylor can definitely sing, and I'd like to hear some more traditional soul/jazz stuff from him. This isn't doing it for me.
The Bellamy Brothers – “Let Your Love Flow” -- May 1, 1976
I saw the title and immediately the song shoved itself into my head. It's such a mellow song, but the hook is still monstrous. The song is about how it's the season for love, so grab your lover and "let your love flow." It's one of many 70s songs about sex that sounds like it could be a song about how pretty trees are. It kind of is about how pretty trees are too. I rather like it.
John Sebastian – “Welcome Back” -- May 8, 1976
Welcome Back, Kotter was not on Nick at Nite or WGN or anything else that ran old TV shows when I was watching TV (rather than the internet), so I've never seen it. The theme song lays it all out -- someone moves back to his old neighborhood, where they need him. As TV theme songs go, it's fine. Just fine, though. When "Movin' On Up" and "Love Is All Around" were also theme songs for TV shows in 1976, why this one? The rewards of mediocrity I guess.
The Sylvers – “Boogie Fever” -- May 15, 1976
It's literal. You come in contact with someone who can't stop boogie-ing, and you will catch the Boogie Fever yourself. Listening to the song will certainly make you want to boogie, unless you are immune. A fun dance song, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tik-Tok made it a hit again in the next year.
Wings – “Silly Love Songs” -- May 22, 1976
"Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs / What’s wrong with that?" Nothing. Paul even emphasizes something important in it: "Love isn't silly at all." Still, I can't say it's one of my favorites. I get tired of it about halfway through, and it's a long song. A silly love song shouldn't be nearly 6 minutes long.
Diana Ross – “Love Hangover” -- May 29, 1976
It starts with Diana Ross making sex sounds that I find embarrassing. Then she goes into singing about how she doesn't want to get over "the sweetest love hangover", and a minute and a half in it becomes a disco song. I find the entire thing irritating.
Starland Vocal Band – “Afternoon Delight” -- July 10, 1976
"Afternoon delight" is sex, but these doofuses may as well be singing about tea and scones for all the excitement this song has. It still doesn't deserve the hatred it's gotten. But it's not good either. The number of sexless sex songs in the 70s is just... ugh.
The Manhattans – “Kiss And Say Goodbye” -- July 24, 1976
He has to break up with the person he's been cheating with. It's an achingly sad Philly soul song. It also manages to be way sexier than the vast majority of 70s sex songs. Real emotion (or the ability to fake real emotion) does a lot, as does being able to sing like this. And beautiful backing music. It's so sad, and so good.
Elton John & Kiki Dee – “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” -- August 7, 1976
This song isn't mutual. Elton John's the one who sings "don't go breaking my heart," and Kiki Dee's the one singing "I won't go breaking your heart." It is all and entirely and completely about the male character's feelings. Of course it's an Elton John song so I wouldn't like it anyway, but I really don't like this one, especially because it still gets airplay.
Bee Gees – “You Should Be Dancing” -- September 4, 1976
I hate the Bee Gees. Not on a personal level -- as far as I know they're perfectly decent people -- but their music. And I have a particular hatred for Barry Gibb's voice. His horrible falsetto has caused me immense pain in my life. If I should be dancing, then they need to shut up and sit down and let a band that I can dance to take the stage. As it is, I feel like a dog during the 4th of July; I just want to hide under a bed.
KC & The Sunshine Band – “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty” -- September 11, 1976
Here's a command to dance that I can get behind. Or that my behind can get behind. Again, a great song for dancing but not for listening to from KC & The Sunshine Band.
Wild Cherry – “Play That Funky Music” -- September 18, 1976
Good for both dancing and listening. How you can listen and not get into that funk groove even when sitting, though, I don't know. Play that funky music till you die.
Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band – “A Fifth Of Beethoven” -- October 9, 1976
This was the #1 hit the week I was born. It's a good one for me; it's by a guy who loved classical music enough to write contemporary music based on it. Whenever I'm faced with questions about what kind of music is my favorite, my answer is "the good kind." Anyway, this is a fun song.
Rick Dees And His Cast Of Idiots – “Disco Duck (Part 1)” -- October 16, 1976
Billboard used to base their hit songs on calling record stores and asking what was selling. I think that's how this stupid, stupid song reached number one. I think it was a prank by a bunch of stoned college kids who co-ordinated it over cb radio or something. It's about a duck. Who discos. With an obnoxious voice and obnoxious music. It's by a radio dj, and is as painfully unfunny as radio djs usually are.
Chicago – “If You Leave Me Now” -- October 23, 1976
This song makes me have a weird reaction. It gives me the warm, comfortable fuzzies, and makes me want to sleep. That last part might not be too surprising, as it is a soft song, but to me it is very much more than that. I have always had trouble sleeping at night, since birth. My parents hit on putting me into the car and driving around with soft music playing to get me to go lights out. I need to ask them if they played Chicago during that. I can't think of any other reason for my hindbrain association with this szzzzzzz....
Steve Miller Band – “Rock’n Me” -- November 6, 1976
Good bar rock, since it's the Steve Miller Band. Lyrically, it's also more complex than most of its genre. At first, he sings "I got to please my sweet baby, yeah." Then he starts singing about all the places he's been, including "Northern California where the girls are warm." And then "Babe, you know you are a friend of mine/ And you know that it's true/ That all the things that I do/ Are gonna come back to you in your sweet time." Well then. I can totally see @katatty's Duncan Huckleberry singing this song. And getting away with everything. It's a fun song, though (because?) the narrator is likely a dirtbag.
Rod Stewart – “Tonight’s The Night (Gonna Be Alright)” -- November 13, 1976
It's a sex song, and it is hugely skeevy. "Don't deny your man's desire/ You’d be a fool to stop this tide / Spread your wings and let me come inside." No, asshole, cover it up if you want to come near. And how about if you want her, you care something about her desire? This was a huge hit from a huge star, but I have never heard it until now. Ugh. I need to shower, this is gross. Also I hope whoever he's singing to is packing mace.
BEST OF 1976 -- "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." I don't even think it's an amazing song, just a very good one, but the 1976 #1s don't leave me much to work with. Fleetwood Mac released some singles, but people wanted "Disco Duck" rather than "Over My Head." Tons of great music has survived from 1976, but most of it is not on this list. WORST OF 1976 -- "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)". "Disco Duck" is stupid, but it doesn't make my skin crawl.

another thing i hate about the finn plot is that they touched on this whole thing with shane but they just threw him under the bus to get a couple of extra weeks with ryan. like as if that plot dripping with misogyny wasn’t bad enough, the cop frames a black guy for killing another cop. i remember bc i was mad when they brought in sylver and started to do the same with him. like oh, we’re doing the same but with a constantly shirtless white guy who is way less morally ambiguous? i see.
also “finn experiences distressing flashbacks” to the time he raped someone? k. we could just not.

Props to all of us for not making a weird pun/joke about the baby being born in the Hutch.
My guess is Harry will stay by Sadie’s side even if it means missing his hearing Sadie seeing how he stayed by her side and immediately loves their child decides to go to the police. She’ll leave the baby with Harry because he’s got a support system + family whilst she’s on her own and is scared of Liam. This kicks off Jarry drama Harry is now a single parent with the entire responsibility of a baby and up until now, James has been imagining a scenario where Harry sees the kid sparingly and he isn’t personally involved.
They’ll have Breda deliver the child she was also a witness the day of the accident she saw Harry run for the bus. Breda will overhear that Liam contrived and framed Harry so in her eyes he ran over his own sister later drove a mother away from her child, shot Sylver and got Mercedes hooked on drugs. Liam will be murdered. I really don’t want this to be true because Liam is by far more interesting a character but it gives the writers an out for Mercedes not going to prison and provides the drama of Mercedes wanting to clear his name and another boo hoo reason for her to continue to take drugs. Breda will either cause Mercedes to overdose on purpose or they’ll do a who’s the baby daddy drama with Mercedes again.

A Difficult week for Sinead and Sienna...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (1st-5th April 2019)
School residential trips are great when you’re a kid. Messing about on the bus, trying different activities and having a massive sleepover with all your mates. They’re less fun when you’re a trainee teacher and the only other member of staff accompanying you is a grade A sleaze. We already know that in a bid to get close to Sienna and make her feel as uncomfortable as possible, Laurie had ripped her tent. However, Laurie’s plan was almost rumbled before the bus even left the school grounds when Leah spotted the sabotaged tent. Luckily for Laurie, he was able to usher her onto the bus before she could spill the beans but once the group arrived at their destination, it didn’t take long for Sienna to find her tent in shreds. Playing the gentlemen, Laurie offered Sienna his tent, telling her he would sleep outside. However, later that day, Laurie deliberately treated himself to a cold shower when he went to take a container of water from Charlie, and Sienna was guilt tripped into allowing Laurie to share her tent. Needless to say, Sienna got no sleep that night, and the last thing she needed as the group packed up to go home the following morning was Charlie winding her up about spending the night with Laurie.
Meanwhile, with Laurie and Sienna away, Liberty suggested that she and Sami host a dinner party and invite Brody and Sinead, who would of course be bereft of company due to their partners being away. Unfortunately, the evening didn’t exactly go to plan when Liberty kept making digs at Sinead about her fling with Sami and the Scouse car alarm stormed off. Sami’s evening then went from bad to worse when he and Liberty ended up engaged after she completely misunderstood what he was trying to say. Needing some air, Sami left the flat, where he bumped into Sinead, and the pair ended up sharing a kiss. News of Sami’s engagement soon made it’s way to his family but Misbah and Yasmine’s enthusiasm soon became too much and Sami confessed, in front of his new found fiance, that he didn’t want to marry her. Liberty was understandably devastated, especially when she found out that Sami had kissed Sinead. However, the pair soon made up and got their relationship back on track.
Back to the camping trip, and when the group returned to the village, Brody could see that something wasn’t right with Sienna, and she admitted that she thought that Laurie had deliberately sabotaged her tent. Brody saw red and wanted to confront Laurie, but Sienna put him off, saying that his actions could jeopardise her teaching dreams. Over at the Hutchinson’s, Laurie was furious when he discovered that Sinead had kissed Sami, and reacted by raping her. The following morning, Sinead was struggling to process what had happened, and the rest of the household failed to notice the very obvious signs that something was wrong as they prepared for Lily’s return. Sinead eventually confronted Laurie over what he’d done but he refused to acknowledge that he’d done anything wrong and pointed out that, if she went to the police, her history of prostitution and countless affairs would surely go against her. Sinead was forced into forgiving her husband and she ended the week by taking a holiday with him and Hannah.
Elsewhere, Damon was keen for Maxine to attend her hospital appointment for a lumbar puncture but she was unsurprisingly reluctant. She was eventually persuaded to have the procedure and was given some tablets to take until the results came back. The following day, Damon discovered Maxine’s tablets in the bin and confronted her but she was able to convince him that she was simply scared about facing up to her condition. However, the truth would be revealed to the audience soon after, when Maxine caught Minnie playing with her medication, and removed her arm from her sling to grab the tablets. In case you’d missed the subtle as a brick signs, there’s nothing wrong with Maxine...
In other news this week, Lily returned to the village and was horrified to find out that Romeo had been arrested for murder in her absence. The teenager then ended up self harming again when the pressure of her school project became too much. Liam enjoyed spending time with Iona as the little girl took her first steps. Finally, the battle lines were drawn as Grace and Mercedes competed to see who’s business could host the best night out. It was safe to say that Mercedes won this particular battle as she hired Scott to perform in drag as Grace!
5 Things We Learned This Week:
1. Camping trips are more trouble than they’re worth. It’s cold, it’s wet and you have to share a tent with someone you absolutely cannot stand. Just stay at home next time!
2. Liam has such a way with words. “Does your Mum know you can get off your backside?” he said to Iona as she took her first steps.
3. Breda’s fitted The Dog flat with child locks to keep Max and Bobby safe. Maybe she should lock herself away? Nothing more dangerous than a serial killer, is there?
4. Little Hannah is going to hate her parents once she starts learning to write her name. This week, the little girl gained a new name and became ‘Hannah Hay-O’Connor’. Not only is it a mouthful, it’s inevitably going to end up changed again at some point.
5. Scott performing as Grace may just be the best thing I have seen on this show for a long time...
This Week’s Cast:
Breda, Brody, Charlie, Courtney, Damon, Diane, Farrah, Grace, Hannah, Iona, James, Jesse, Laurie, Leah, Liam, Liberty, Lily, Martine, Maxine, Mercedes, Minnie, Misbah, Prince, Romeo, Sally, Scott, Sienna, Sinead, Ste, Sylver, Tony and Yasmine.

Direwolf Creator Beta live
Those interested in helping us beta test our first ever true dev kit are urged to message Sylver Bu. The fee for the Beta is 9000L, but includes commercial rights for use with the dev kit, fully shaded/detailed PSDs for the Direwolf, a weight and uv copy dummy, and some inworld tools. Buying into the beta gets you the Fatpack preorder as well. Post launch, the dev kit license wil be 5000L and the fatpack will be 6000L. (You do not need the dev kit to wear/use the avatar) IM me if you're interested.
FAQ:
Will it work with other brands of bodies? What about other AOs?
Probably not. and.. kinda? Testing internally yielded.... entertaining results. Use non-specific Aos at your own risk.
How much is the Avatar? Do I have to buy the license to use/wear the avatar?
The avatar will be 2500L per size (with 3 sizes in total), or 6000L for the fatpack.
As stated above, the dev kit is marketed toward people who wish to make third party content for the direwolf. It is recommended for those who want to create completely transformative accessories. IE if you’re just a normal consumer looking to buy a cool avatar, you can completely ignore all this nonsense and preorder/purchase the avatar like normal when its available.
Why is the dev kit so expensive?
The license for the dev kit, post launch, will be 5000L. By buying in early, you’ll save some money and get a head start on creating third party content for our Direwolf avatar. I settled on this price because of the sheer volume of control this dev kit gives the licensee. Between the .blend files, the Psds and commercial license rights, 5000L is actually quite fair.
I want the Direwolf early, can I join this Beta to get it early?
This ‘Beta’ isn’t for the avatar. Its for the devkit. Its designed to help us test the files we’re sending to licensees to ensure their usability. Those expecting to get early access to the avatar before its ready will find themselves short 9k and disappointed. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
I’m new to Blender/Avastar, and want to try this dev kit.
First off, you’re mad. Second of all, if you’re serious, we won’t stop you but know that this file was designed with intermediate to advanced users in mind. There will be freeby files designed for more entry-level use at a later date. However if you truly are a glutton for punishment, we welcome your torment. All kidding aside, I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and help as best I can.
I just do texture mods, Do I really need the dev kit?
If you wish to make textures to sell, you will still need the Commercial license for the PSDs. Nice thing is that’s available at only 2000L, and without a contract attached. Don’t think we won’t be right miffed if you go breakin’ our hearts now though. We’re serious. While the Dev kit would be useful for texturing, its not required.
However if you’re looking for personal use only, there’ll be a freebie set of PSDs available to you post launch, minus the fur detail layers. Those are only part of the commercial license.
I just want to make clothing, do I really need the dev kit?
Nope! There’ll be a rigged, non uv’d dummy model for download post launch.

Traveling to the French Capital
The stone houses painted white or gray or brown with small yards attached to them gave way to fields of tall grass as the 10:35 RER D train from Combs-la-Villa-Quincy station sped toward the French capital. On board, Sylvere had an entire row of seats to himself at that late hour of the morning. Rush hour was over. He was the lone occupant of his car with the exception of an elderly couple sitting at the front next to the door leading to the adjoining car.
Sylvere sat motionless in his seat next to the window, looking out at the passing fields while still grasping his mobile phone in one hand. He noticed the large swathes of brown grass swallowing up the green. The thought occurred to him that none of the five contacts referred to him by his friend, Pinto, had shown promise. All of them were supposed to have expertise in transporting people from Congo to France. Of the four men Pinto had identified, the first man never answered the phone when Sylvere had called on three separate occasions the previous day, Wednesday, and on Tuesday. Each time Sylvere had called he had heard only an incessant ringing on the other end of the line.
The second man whom Sylvere had called did answer the phone, but the man, who was from Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, had said in Lingala he no longer accepted jobs. “You could say I’m retired now,” the man had added in French, laughing loudly into Sylvere’s ear. Then he hung up.
The third man also answered the phone, but he had said it was impossible to obtain the legal authorization necessary to bring a person from Congo to France in the current political climate. The fourth man, from whom Sylvere had just received a call a few minutes before, didn’t seem interested either.
“Pinto has the best sources in the Congolese community,” Sylvere said out loud in Kikongo. “If he can’t find someone, no one can.”
Sylvere looked up from his seat at that moment and saw Serge, an old acquaintance from the Congolese community, enter the car from the adjoining one. Wearing a green linen suit and, beneath the suit jacket, a large gold chain around his neck, Serge proceeded to sit with his back to Sylvere in the row directly across the aisle from the elderly couple. The thought occurred to Sylvere that Serge had changed seats after the train departed because he was looking for a more sympathetic audience for his stories. Serge, a highly insecure man, always seemed to be trying to make other people like him.
Crowd at Bus Stop
Sylvere didn’t want to talk with Serge, who showed no sign he was aware of Sylvere. A new idea occurred to Sylvere. The fifth contact and sole woman referred by Pinto was an assistant to another individual. When the woman had answered Sylvere’s call the day before, she had given the impression she was with someone while she was talking to Sylvere. He could recall clearly the words spoken by the woman.
“We are aware of the events surrounding the death of Mr. Ronald and the current situation of his daughter, Ms. Claudette,” the woman had stated in French. “We will call you back.”
“Who is this woman?” Sylvere asked out loud, again speaking in Kikongo. His glance fell on the phone still in his hand, which rested on the adjacent seat and grasped the phone so that its screen was visible. A news flash from Le Figaro, the largest newspaper in France, displayed on the screen to announce an attempted coup in Kinshasa led by senior army officers loyal to the country’s previous president, Joseph Kabila. The phone started vibrating at that moment, though, shifting from the screen displaying the news item to a screen indicating an incoming call. Josephine, Sylvere’s wife, was calling.
“Are you going to be home for dinner?” Josephine asked in Lingala, the primary language in Kinshasa, when Sylvere had answered. “Charles is staying with us tonight,” she continued. “By the way,” she added, “Jim received a job offer from a company in Switzerland a little while ago,” referring to their second youngest child and only son. Sylvere was silent. “Are you there?” Josephine asked.
“Yes,” Sylvere answered at last. He paused, thinking about the final piece of information from his wife. Then he said in French: “The connection is bad. I’ll call you back as soon as I can.” He hung up. In fact, the connection was not bad. Sylvere looked out the window. Now a dreary landscape of warehouses, large trucks, and heavy machinery was visible. Sylvere closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the seat, breathing deeply through his nose and attempting to calm his nerves. But he was anxious, he admitted to himself. His homeland was entering into another crisis. His only son was moving away. He had to rescue Claudette quickly.
Suddenly, an image of his first child, Isabelle, who died at the age of four 45 years previously, entered his mind.
Sylvere forced his eyes open, an image of the back of the seat in front of him appearing before his eyes. He could feel the train slowing steadily. A voice in French came over the public-address system announcing the train’s arrival in Paris. Sylvere looked at his watch. It was 11:13. The train ride from Combs-la-Ville to Paris had taken 38 minutes. A thought occurred to him; he looked up toward the front of the car. Serge was gone.
But Sylvere already was visualizing the final leg of his journey, a walk from the train station at Châtelet–Les Halles to the offices of Le Carrefour on Rue Montmartre. The walk would be short, about half a mile in distance. He would have plenty of time, almost one hour. But something could go wrong, he thought, preventing him from reaching his destination. His heart started pounding in his chest again.
Through the window Sylvere saw the approach of the train into the massive shopping and transit center of Châtelet–Les Halles. When the train came to a halt next to a platform, Sylvere rose quickly from his seat, put his phone in the pocket of his red windbreaker, and rushed down the narrow staircase to the platform outside. His mind, at that moment, was in a state of turmoil.

I'm a cane user, and bus policy is to give up your seat for disabled people to sit down, but the bus was full and no one offered their seat so I had so stand on my bad leg on a moving bus for several blocks until I finally told someone to move their bag so I could sit.
Translation: Oh, what do you mean you need to have a seat? I’m conveniently blind and had no idea you were disabled, even though you have a cane. As you can see, I don’t seem to have any more empathy than a pea.
