Board game as a fav gift = play games together? Everyone's clowning Hubert for playing from the office (salary and working OT on a Friday night). Hubert's defense is he's high up the ladder and has responsibilities (Claude in same boat but wouldn't admit it lol)

For the pride fics may I req Sylvain <3 i wanna be this mans gay awakening SO bad like with Alex from SDV <3
DENIAL IS A RIVER IN EGYPT SYLVAIN IS GAY
Tumblr media
Read on AO3:
Read Below:
Sylvain liked watching Kiran summon heroes from other worlds, he got a front row seat to seeing different versions of his friends, himself, and more importantly hot babes as they first arrived in Askr.
So he’s not confused when he sees a version of himself summoned, nor is he confused to see a version of you come with him. What confuses him just a bit is the way you’re clinging to the other Sylvain's arm tightly.
He watches as Kiran gives you both the regular explanation and welcome speech, although he notices neither of you really paying attention, too busy giggling among yourselves.
“So…Is there a pride festival here as well?”
It’s the sound of your voice talking to Kiran that snaps Sylvain out of his thoughts, and he realizes right away he’s blushing. Something about you hanging off the other hims arm has him blushing.
Sylvain’s never blushed because of another man before. There’s just something about the way you’re acting with him, another him, that has him blushing.
So he listens when you tell Kiran about your world, and the fact that your world was celebrating something called Pride.
“Sylvain?”
He had just been watching everyone else set up the festival when you’d found him.
“What’s up?” You smile gently at him.
This morning Kiran had summoned a new batch of heroes from another world, and those heroes had been celebrating something known as Pride with their own festival.
Askr being currently conflict free, and open as always decided to host their own Pride. You’ve spent the morning with the newly summoned heroes (Chrom and Robin, Ike and Sorin, and Edelgard and Byleth) putting up decorations, planning, and cooking.
All the while you’d noticed Sylvain hovering nearby, watching you.
“You didn’t happen to see who else was summoned, did you?” You become acutely aware of the fact that he’s blushing. You’ve never seen Sylvain blush before, even though he’s such a flirt with the ladies.
He has your full attention.
“No? Why?”
“No reason.” Syvain says quickly. Too quickly for your liking.
You squint at him.
“Who else was summoned?”
“No one!”
“I know you’re lying, Sylvain!”
“Kiran!”
You move to go around Sylvain and circumvent everything by just finding the summoner yourself only to be tackled by the red head.
“Don’t.” His voice is serious, but you can’t really focus on that, instead focusing on how close his face is to yours. The fact brings heat to your own face finally, and you nod quietly.
The pair of you stay like that for what feels like eternity, Sylvain glaring down at you, face inches from your own until you’re interrupted by laughter.
A pair of familiar laughter.
You look up to see yourself, another version of yourself who must have been summoned here, and another Sylvain, arm in arm laughing at the pair of you.
It suddenly clicks in your brain who Sylvain didn’t want you to see.
It was them.
The two of you from another world.
“Oh-”
Before you can confront him on it he’s gone, leaving you alone with the other worlds you.
The other you smiles softly, still laughing under their breath.
“Don’t worry about him,” They gesture to their Sylvain beside them. “He was like that long before we got together too.”

Woke up thinking about dilfs today. Here’s the results of the days work:
It’s no secret that Lambert’s political ideas were…ambitious. And that’s not a bad thing - I think he really wanted to better Faerghus and that his policies were truly for the good of his people.
However, it is also no secret that the western lords were…hesitant. And it’s also no secret that Rodrigue knew this and worried about it more than Lambert did.
So how much time do y’all think Rodrigue spent chasing after Lambert trying to rein him in?
And thus, how much time do you think Matthias spent holding down eastern Faerghus while Lambert charged towards a new future and Rodrigue tried to temper him? How much time did he spend helping in territories so Rodrigue could spend time in Fhirdiad trying to tell Lambert to ease into things instead of charging into them head first? (And this is absolutely no hate to Papa Roddy - I love him and he’s such a good guy and believe me when I say he was doing the Goddess’s work trying to keep Lambert from charging off a cliff; he had decisions to make for the good of Faerghus too and this was one of them)
Rodrigue and Matthias play those roles in Houses though; Rodrigue goes in search of Dimitri while Matthias holds down the fort. To me it doesn’t seem far off that the same thing was true earlier in life.
In addition to that, we know there were two plagues in Faerghus - one Matthias sent his wife up north for and one that killed Dimitri’s mother. We know they had the large Sreng campaign where Rodrigue saved Lambert, that Matthias had Leif for a while, that Duscur occurred, and that Faerghus was utterly destroyed afterwards….
We know Matthias is a margrave before anything else, for better or worse depending on perspective (mostly worse than better). But how many times do you think duty took Matthias away from the boys? How many times did he look up and yet another day was long gone? How many times did he sacrifice today in hopes for a better tomorrow?
I’ve never said Matthias is winning any awards for his parenting, but I often wonder how things like this played a part in it.

Sylvain Jose Gautier x Silas Elian (OC) - Home
A short but sweet little snippet for @newtnewtthenoot featuring his Fire Emblem OC, Silas! Hope you enjoy; thank you for your patience 😊
This was the first time Silas had seen where Sylvain was born. The lands of Gautier were cold and unforgiving, and the border with Sreng still held the same threat that it did before the war, even now that the continent of Fódlan clung to tentative peace.
It contrasted greatly to the young man that now carried the territory’s future on his broad shoulders. Where the northern Faerghus lands were colourless, Sylvain burned bright with life, deep red hair and flushed cheeks bitten pink by the chill as they sat by the fire together. He reached into the basket between them and handed Silas an apple pastry - just like the ones they had once shared at Garreg Mach - still warm from the oven.
“It’s clear tonight,” he remarked, gesturing to the stars overhead. The moon was crescent, a glowing mark of silver in the inky black of the night. Sylvain could not help but admire how it reflected in Silas’ familiar green eyes.
Silas hummed absently. His head rested on Sylvain’s shoulder, and nothing more really needed to be said. Sylvain turned his head, pressing a gentle kiss into Silas’ hair, and found that the usually biting cold of the Faerghan night was much easier to bear when side by side with a loved one.

Fine, since you don't want me hiding in the tags I'll just leave this here. :P
Sylvain's first foray as a DM was purely by chance. Glenn occasionally played DnD with his friends from the soccer team, and 9-year-old Felix, wanting to do everything his big brother did, pestered Glenn to let him play too. Then the rest of the Faerghus Four wanted in, and eventually Glenn caved and promised the four of them that he would DM a campaign just for them. A date and time were set, and Felix, Dimitri, Ingrid, and Sylvain eagerly worked on their character sheets to pass the time.
When they reconvened at the Fraldarius house for the promised campaign, however, Glenn was nowhere to be found. Apparently preliminaries for the national soccer team tryouts were today, and Glenn had forgotten about that while scheduling their campaign. He wouldn't be home for several hours. Sure, there were plenty of other things they could do while waiting for Glenn, but they'd been looking forward to this all week and - Sylvain looked at his friends - Dimitri looked like a kicked puppy, Ingrid was pouting and stomping her feet, and Felix's face was all scrunched up with his lower lip wobbling the way it always did right before he started crying.
Sylvain considered his options. He had read up on DnD guidebooks to prepare for this campaign, so he knew enough about the game mechanics. He had read plenty of books (including some above his grade level), so he knew how good storytelling worked. And he had plenty of experience lying (to his family, about his grades and hobbies; to his friends, about his mysterious bruises and other injuries), so he knew how to improvise quickly. If anyone was capable of replacing Glenn as a DM, it was him. So Sylvain quietly put away his character sheet (a bard/wizard with a magical electric guitar that could shoot flames out of one end) and told the others that he could DM instead.
DMing for a group of 9-year-olds turned out to be easier than Sylvain expected - it was similar to playing pretend, just with more dice rolling and math. He brought the DnD guidebooks down from Glenn's room and stacked them on his end of the table for easy reference. (And if Sylvain did get something wrong anyways... Well, it wasn't like the other kids knew enough about DnD to call him out.) Then he looked at Dimitri's, Ingrid's, and Felix's character sheets and said, "Okay look, you guys can't all be paladins." When the three of them complained, Sylvain relented and quickly came up with a campaign suitable for three paladins: a quest to defeat an evil demon lord, a couple of towns to explore along the way, and a number of low-level mobs scattered in between for the party to gain experience from. He drew up new maps as his friends explored, going through over a dozen sheets of printer paper and a whole box of colored pencils. Their lack of a healer was mitigated by Sylvain adding an NPC to the party - Leo, a magical talking lion cub that knew healing spells and had bright blue fur and totally wasn't inspired by Sylvain accidentally spilling Gatorade on Dimitri's lion plushie last Wednesday. (The players all loved Leo and he quickly became the party's mascot.) As for other NPCs and enemy encounters, Sylvain took inspiration from his real-life experiences: he copied his brother's scowl while pretending to be a bandit leader, mimicked his father's glower while voicing an ice golem, and imitated his mother's disdainful glare while playing the role of a snooty noblewoman. His friends were so enraptured by his terrific acting skills and unique character voices that they didn't even notice when Glenn returned home from tryouts five hours later.
Glenn was miffed that they had started the campaign without him, but also guilty for not being able to DM like he promised earlier. He watched Sylvain guide the party for a while, and was impressed enough to create his own character, a paladin/ranger who carried a crossbow so that the party could have a ranged option in fights. (Glenn was originally going to be just a ranger, but Ingrid insisted that he had to be a paladin so that he would fit in with the rest of the group for what would later be dubbed the "Oops! All Paladins" campaign.) Sylvain inserted Glenn's character near the end of the campaign as an experienced (read: higher-leveled) knight who had been spying on the demon lord for a while and would help the three younger knights complete their quest (read: tank most of the damage from the final boss while the other players struggled to overcome the demon lord's high armor class and cursed their low dice rolls).
As for Sylvain, he felt a sense of catharsis watching his friends confront and defeat caricatures of his family members. (Even if Sylvain lacked the strength to fight back against his family in the real world, he could believe that his friends would protect him in this fantasy world he created.) And when they finally faced off against the evil demon lord - a 6-foot tall demon with flames for hair and a gaping void where his heart should have been, who wanted to make the rest of the world hurt because hurt was all he had ever known - Sylvain was so proud of his friends when they not only defeated him (Felix landed the finishing blow with a Nat 20, a fact which he crowed over for the rest of the night), they chose to spare the demon lord instead of killing him, promising to be his friends from now on and show him all the goodness in the world so that he would neither be hurt nor want to hurt others anymore.
(If Sylvain grew misty-eyed at that part, at least no one else seemed to notice.)
After the campaign ended, Felix, Ingrid, and Dimitri couldn't stop raving about Sylvain's incredible DM skills: his dramatic NPC performances, his vividly-detailed environments, his helpful explanations of unfamiliar battle mechanics, and his willingness to let his players explore while still gently guiding them back onto the correct path. Even Glenn said Sylvain was the best DM he ever had, which was high praise coming from the only person with prior DnD experience and even higher praise coming from Glenn.
Sylvain was so good, in fact, that his friends begged him to DM the next campaign. And the next one. And the next one after that. The one time Sylvain suggested that maybe they should let someone else DM for a change, Felix stared at him with big puppy eyes. "But you're the best at DMing, Sylvain! We wouldn't have nearly as much fun if someone else did it," he said, and well, that settled that. Even if Sylvain never got to play through a campaign himself, it felt nice to be appreciated.
After Glenn died, the four of them didn't play DnD again until college, after Sylvain convinced the others to play one more campaign "for old times' sake." While several years had passed since his last DM experience, time had given Sylvain more sophisticated storytelling skills and many more traumatic experiences to turn into campaign fodder. "The Death of Our Lives" ended up spanning the length of several months and became Sylvain's darkest and most complex campaign - part noir mystery, part historical drama, part exploration of grief and the different ways it tears people apart. It was a tale about tragedy, survivor's guilt, cycles of vengeance, and childhood friends divided by trauma and reunited by a shared goal - uncovering the true culprits behind the massacre that destroyed their innocence - where everyone had blood on their hands in one form or another. Yet despite the bleak themes, "The Death of Our Lives" was a welcome respite for all of them: for a few hours each week, the four could gather in one room without arguing or insulting each other so that they could let Sylvain work his DM magic and make their characters argue and insult each other instead. While the campaign didn't fully repair the burnt bridges between them, it laid the first stones of the foundation.
After the conclusion of "The Death of Our Lives" and the mending of their friendships, the Faerghus Four continued to play DnD together despite their busy college (and later postgraduate) lives. Ingrid was the only one who continued to play as a paladin - Felix almost exclusively played brooding rogues with dark pasts, while Dimitri grew increasingly fond of berserkers despite Felix's pointed remarks about boars. (Sylvain encouraged Dimitri anyways - he understood the importance of fiction as a safe way to explore difficult emotions felt in real life.) As their friend group grew, more people joined in on their DnD sessions: Dimitri invited his roommate Dedue, and later Felix brought in his roommate Ashe, who later introduced them to his friends Annette and Mercedes - the two women were part of a DnD group together back in high school and were looking for people to play with in college. The newcomers were quickly acquainted with Sylvain's status as the forever-DM, given his remarkable skills in running campaigns and in keeping track of everyone's schedules so that no one had to miss out on a session. The few times the group let someone else be DM for a change, it soon became clear they could never hold a candle to Sylvain, and the status quo was restored at the next session.
Sylvain, for his part, accepted his fate as forever-DM easily enough. Sure, it meant that he would never get to play a campaign himself, never see his character grow and develop the way everyone else's did. But as the DM, he got to set his friends up for adventure and glory, turn their least favorite people into safe punching bags to let them vent their frustrations, and entertain them with fantasy worlds where any problem could be solved with a bit of ingenuity and a roll of the dice. And seeing his friends have fun was more important to Sylvain than anything else.
(Sylvain still keeps the character sheet for the first and only DnD character he ever created tucked away safely in the very back of the folder he uses for his DM notes. The sheet is several years old now, but the hope that Jose McFlameshredder - drawn with pierced ears and a wizard hat and an electric guitar in as much loving detail as 11-year-old Sylvain could manage - would one day see the spotlight never faded completely. It wouldn't be today. Probably wouldn't be tomorrow either. But maybe, possibly, hopefully...someday.)

okokok no one asked for this but here is my rationale for Sylvain being a forever-DM in my dungeons and dragons and three houses post
his interests are specifically stated as being fine art and theater. furthermore, his supports with bernadetta (houses) and ignatz (hopes) shows that his eye for art and literature is not just at a surface level. not only can he recognize a good narrative in writing, but also knows how visual description can be used to build context in a story.
the board game is one of his preferred gifts. DnD is as massive a 'board game' you can get in all but technicality, being a table-top RPG system. one can assume that sylvain has an aptitude for putting written rules into practice as well as a mind for strategy needed to simulate encounters that suitably challenge the party while keeping everything balanced.
in three hopes, he excels at taking inventory of the pantry and tidying up documents. his profile states that he is specifically bothered by untidy spaces. clearly, he knows how to stay organized and on top of paperwork and logistical details.
also, his dating habits and ability to keep up with multiple distinct relationships at the same time means uh, he's got serious time management skills. always a plus for a DM, i guess? especially given the challenge of scheduling anything with a sizable group of players.
but most of all he puts on personas in his every day life, has a flare for both humor and the dramatic, and knows how to appeal to one's emotions even when he doesn't really mean it. one could reason that he has the acting ability needed to play as multiple npcs at the drop of a hat, while hiding his cards when necessary to keep the players guessing.
so not only would Sylvain be a competent and engaging DM, he'd be stuck in the DM role forever - also because no one would dare imagine the unfathomable amount of drama and mayhem he'd be capable of causing as a player.

poly relationship with sylvain & felix
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: sylvain jose gautier x gn!reader x felix hugo fraldarius
tags: wholesome fluff, polyamorous relationship, protective!felix, affectionate!sylvain (& later affectionate!felix), happy ending
Tumblr media
while sylvain and felix both had a crush on you, sylvain was the one eagerly suggesting a polyamorous relationship!
honestly, he would've never imagined himself open to sharing a lover with someone else. but if that someone else is felix, sylvain doesn't seem to mind…
in fact, he's actually eager to share you! he knows how bad felix is at showing his true feelings, so sylvain feels obligated to help him out!
sylvain over eagerly plays the wingman for felix, always nudging him towards you and giving felix tips on how to be more romantic
though the two boys show their affection in different ways. sylvain is very verbally and physically affectionate, while felix shows his love through acts of service!
felix is very protective of you and he'll often get into fights with men either talking badly about you or hitting on you! the same goes for when people talk badly about sylvain…
some people look down on the three of you due to the unconventional relationship you have. but felix always defends it, while sylvain teaches the two of you to not let gossip get through to you
the three of you are inseparable and as the years pass, the boys begin to share traits with one another that weren't originally there
felix grows a bit more physically and verbally affectionate – though only in private – while sylvain gets more protective of you in battle!

Sorry but I can't get over this
I know plenty of people have joked about this already, but Sylvain just...looks almost nothing like his dad???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Using Sylvain's Hopes portrait to account for any changes in artists/art style)
Like, just by comparing these two pictures I can list so many differences:
Sylvain has a slight widow's peak (more obvious with his Houses post-TS portraits) and Matthias doesn't
Sylvain has a more heart-shaped face & pointier chin compared to Matthias's square head & jaw
Matthias's nose is taller and rounder (with visible nostrils) compared to Sylvain's anime nose
Sylvain's hair is a more vibrant orange-red compared to Matthias's darker red
Matthias's tall cheekbones
Sylvain having slightly thinner eyebrows (unless he just thins them out with tweezers/scissors)
Matthias having a pronounced brow ridge and a worry line between his eyebrows deeper than the chasm Byleth falls into right before the Houses timeskip
Sylvain's ears are less...veiny (?) compared to his dad's? Unless that's just like, an art style thing.
Maybe some of it could be explained by Matthias being 20+ years older than Sylvain, but not all of it. Especially when you compare Matthias to his other son, Miklan:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same head shape, same jawline, same brow ridge, near-identical ears... Probably similar noses too, though it's a bit hard to tell with the different angles (Miklan's face is turned slightly more to the side compared to his dad's frontal view). Like it's obvious that Miklan inherited more of Matthias's physical traits.
But you know what physical traits all three Gautiers share?
Hair curliness
Tumblr media
All three of them share red hair that curls upwards at the ends, with a few notable cowlicks in the middle of their heads that stand almost perfectly straight up. They also have bangs on both sides of their faces that curl inward. (It's harder to see with Matthias since the hair on the side of his head is cut super short, but still visible on the top of his head where his hair is longer.
2. They have the same fucking eyes.
Like, look at this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only do they have the same eye color (or nearly the same color, in Matthias's case), they also have the same droopy eye shape.
AKA Sylvain's infamous sad doe eyes? He inherited them from Matthias.
Like can you imagine Matthias (or Miklan, for that matter) giving you this look?
Tumblr media
So now that I've cursed you all with that mental image, I just want to say one last thing:
Since Sylvain barely resembles his dad, logically we would assume that he inherited most of his facial features from his mom. Knowing this, we can use Sylvain's features to approximate his mother's: a heart-shaped face, widow's peak, small pointed nose, and probably light-haired (so the red color Sylvain inherited from his dad would more prominent than it would be in darker hair). Might be useful info for anyone who wants to create fan designs for Mama Gautier.
Also Sylvain's mom must be super hot in order to balance out his dad's ugliness, lol.

Thinking about those posts I have with @yanderefairyangel about the crust system -
If crestless parents can have crested children, then why the fuck are crested heirs apparently so sought after, if their crestless siblings can also create crested heirs?
Look at Hanneman, his crestless sister had to pop out children until her death, because even if she lacked a crest, she might birth a crested child (it didn't work).
Compare to Sylvain's whining about women only wanted to get out with him to get his crest babies - but if it's crest babies we're talking about, then Miklan can get crested babies himself!
So, if people are valued due to their ability to produce crested heirs... being crestless isn't that much of social stigma, since being crestless when your parents had one means you have a chance of passing one to your child (see Lissa in FE13).
Imagine the shitstorm we could have had, if Dimitri, being Lambert's son, didn't have a crest at birth, but Dimitro, Rufus' kid, had one. Would Dimitro be the crown prince of Faerghus? Given how he has a crest... I'd say yes, but would that mean Dimitro lives with his uncle Lambert to receive a proper royal education ? Or he stays with his dad?
What if Dimitro is an ass like his father, and Faerhgians + the top vassals (Fraldarius, Gautier, etc) prefer Dimitri, what would happen ? A civil war?
Worse, what if both Dimitro and Dimitri have a crest of Blaiddyd, who sits on the throne? Dimitro is born to the eldest son, but Dimitri is born to the crested second son.
