do you ever think about this part and how relieved sylus must have felt? he still remembers his “past life” … that’s still a part of him. for a part of time, the girl he loved — the only one that brought out his humanity and didn’t view him as a monster. the only one that had embraced that small suffering child inside him, coddling him with her love and trust for him — was afraid / disgusted by him. and how at this part, the girl that gazed into his jewel-like eyes, embraced his burning soul, and sang him in the night wind was back … no longer viewing him in a tainted way. despite her not remembering anything, she unknowingly gave him the comfort he had been seeking for so long.

sylus and mc’s relationship is just incredibly rewarding and fulfilling because you get all that development in such good pacing. even the difference between this memo and nightplumes is very apparent. sylus has gained the current her’s trust and love. in this life time, the star crossed lovers who are defined by and are symbols of rebellion … who were shunned by the rest of society and who only had each other … are now finally able to love each other in peace. her love and everpresent balm over his injuries.
