continued. ll @eldritchmoms
Can all pointy-eared people do that? She's noticed Astarion's ears do much the same, but at a much higher rate and range of movement. Ren's movements are much more subtle, whether by better control or differences in make between Elves and Half-Elves --
One study at a time. Steadying herself, Sybelle reroutes that nervous energy towards her head and neck, nodding furiously. Black and red locks fly haphazard for a moment, before she straightens, forcing herself to remain very still and normal.
"Well... Did you ever learn much about Shou Lung? I know many Shou immigrated into Nathlan and Marsember, but I imagine a few must have felt loyal to the old homestead." Shifting the skirt of her robe, she casts an anxious eye back at Ren. Is it her place to ask about these things, knowing her father's kin had more claim to Shou Town than to Shou Lung itself?
She can call it academic curiosity if pressed, at least.
"I mean.. What's it like? Whatever you saw of it. If you did."

thinking about how. you can tell valas was a high-level build pre-nautiloid bc he looks downright suicidal in battle. he's used to being top dog. he used to one shot bhaalist enclaves. he's not used to being brought back down to normal.
Tumblr media
and hel has always been a low con build. she fights as a caster despite being a cleric, she masters crowd control and ranged attacks -- her preference for wards is not a new development. she knows how to work with what she has.
Tumblr media
aurelia is the least changed. she's still tactical but unrelenting in battle, a persistence predator, routing the enemy before breaking them entirely. silvanus' special little link in the food chain. she's treating all of this as just another hunt.
Tumblr media
and sybelle. dear, sweet sybelle. does not have the adventuring cred of the other three, she was a nerd in a library for over a decade. she's never done this before. if she isn't committing war crimes via weave she isn't walking out of here alive --

Sybelle, a kid in the archives working as an apprentice, helping some high-ranking merchant settle a land dispute by use of historical taxation and census records from before the sundering. The high-ranking merchant, thankful for 'Simone's help, giving the kid a black pearl as a flex on the witnesses he has present with him. As is common in Amn, he uses generosity and gratuities to flaunt his wealth -- in this case, handing an expensive and popular piece to some archival urchin.
Sybelle, having no idea about any of that, holding this pearl and becoming totally obsessed with the tiny thing.
It becomes one thing outside of knowledge and experience she really values. She keeps it on her, in a pocket, on a cord, twined around the strings of her money pouch. It's just something that makes her happy, ignorant to its value among high-ranking ladies seeking to gird themselves in finery.
Sybelle, at 20, finding someone she loves. Someone she values more than all the wit and wisdom in the world. Sybelle towards the end of her romance arc living up to the romantic ideals she loved as a girl, giving her beloved some token of her adoration. Just a simple black pearl, but from Sybelle it means the world. Perhaps the player realizes it as well -- she never had much to call her own, so either this cost a pretty penny on her part, or she carried it with her, since before even the crash.
Player can also see this parleyed into a proposal if they play it smooth enough.

Arcana check for Sybelle (from mal) // @umbralined
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"--Shadowfell, yes, but this isn't Shar. I know what Halsin said about the doom of this place, but --"
Tumblr media
Her ragged nail drags along the sigil before her, brow knitting. Hunkered down just outside the circle's range, tracing lines with her finger, she softly sounds out an old recollection, a dusty tome. Those who dwelt in the Shadowfell in its purest form were joyless and mournful in the example of their Dark Lady. Raising her lantern higher, she illuminates the symbol at the heart of this work.
A raven, mouth parted to call. This magic she knows, by reputation if not practical work.
"But Thorm and his men aren't alone here. I mean, this isn't the Absolute, either. This is... Shadar-Kai. The Elven sort, not the Fey proper."
Shadar-Kai. Elves about as friendly and lively as the pair's Spawn companion by all accounts. Sybelle's brow knits, and she casts an appraising gaze across the gloom. Foolish. The interloper to this plane will see them long before being witnessed.
If they haven't already.
"Mal?" she mutters. "Stay close, yeah? I doubt they've any reason to come at us blades first, but better safe than sorry. Besides... I'm not sure what they were trying to... Invoke."

For any of the deen dee ocs in any combination: // anonymous
Tumblr media
due to the number of prompts (which i love, not going too bonkers but still giving e a wide array to work with) i'm putting the questions themselves under a cut and answering each with a muse chosen by a random generator. page stretcher under this readmore, consider checking it out on my blog.
What plot points would change due to the inclusion of your character in canon?
Tumblr media
None, she's ostensibly a trophy in Orin's bedroom :)
Realistically, though? If there was another prisoner in the Goblin Camp, a beautiful and feral woman wrapped in several lengths of chain waiting to be uncovered by the party? I mean, you have a genuine Evil companion even in a Spare the Grove route, the Lady MacBeth and fierce angel of death in one at your Tav's ear. She unsettles. Other Companions probably aren't too fond of her. Maybe unimportant NPCs start dropping after long rests -- or maybe Miruna paces the camp at night, praying to deaf gods for the patience the player shows her. Perhaps a final battle plays out differently, with two Chosen against the player, vying together for dominance of the Brain, or perhaps she is only staring in shock at the body of a former beloved, then looking to the player wordlessly, begging with her eyes that they not leave her as this man did.
The player having the chance to mold Miruna. For acceptance or rejection of her to change the shape the narrative takes, especially into Act 3. The player has multiple ways to interact with her that will shape her ultimate fate, whether with disdain for her Urges, support for her redemption, or agreeing with her stance that 'I am not evil, but the demands made of me are.' Does the player believe in second chances, or is there a point their tolerance of her runs out -- after a particular scripted death, after the reveal of her history, in a Temple where she is killed to stifle her dark father's influence on the world, or in the end, where the player can no more ignore what she is or the damage her choices have wrought?
What changes do you think would be made between your muse as they exist in your head vs how they would be treated as part of canon?
Tumblr media
I mean. Canon for 3 already soundly nuked my PC's narrative from orbit. His wife was ousted from the party and her character butchered in the aftermath, his post-game adventures were routed by the canon GW settling down in the Gate, Ismail just cannot catch a break. And to top it all off, the novels keep trying to make him some basic white boy named Adrian or something? Wild.
Jokes aside, if Ismail was treated as the canon GW/Bh**lspawn, I think canon would definitely whitewash him -- but not in the traditional sense. I think his being a True Neutral who only really makes a stand in the face of great evil (such as his father) and otherwise believes in balance would be a little too spicy for the era of game he existed in. He'd get a nice new paint job over his morality to be an In Name Only Neutral. He'd also likely get mischaracterized from the straight man of the party off of which his Companions can shine to a willing buffoon alongside his sequel besties Haer'Dalis and Jan.
Knowing Bioware in that era, he's a white guy, too.
God help me I fear what his romance with Vi would be made into. From a genuine respect and sympathy to 'I Can Fix Her' bait or a young guy who got caught in the talons of an sexy sexy but oh so evil seductress. Comments by returning companions in 3 that his son was the only good to come out of that union or something equally insulting to the Ismonia dynamic.
What would their haters dislike about your character? Is it a petty complaint? A mischaracterization of the character or their intentions? Are they just a woman in a largely male-centric series?
Tumblr media
Gruff, not conventionally attractive, not romanceable by the majority of players' (cis dudes) Tavs... Aurelia'd get the Astarion treatment where people probably need to sit down with haters of a certain degree and go 'no put in words to me what about this character makes you uncomfortable, show me on the doll what aspects of her character are so viscerally repugnant to you.'
People could be petty, racist, misogynistic, and lesbophobic in a single swoop. Instead of someone with flat affect who is clearly teasing half the time, she'd be taken for a stone cold bitch who is needlessly cruel to companions. Everything she does is the worst. She's a cheap Lae clone. Her pragmatism is evil rather than practical. Her neutrality is evil, actually. Fandom has already proven that a canonical Druid talking about the element he works with is so annoying and cringe and they're aiming that at a white dude. Aurelia would get it worse for talking about nature. The thing she also protects as a Ranger. Her habit of slapping nicknames on her Companions? How disrespectful. Also her hitting on Lae'zel/Karlach/Shadowheart/the PC is clearly predatory and uncalled for. She's literally as bad as Cazador for being open about her attraction/appreciation for women. Also her being half-Gur is just crudely shoehorned in and for fake woke points.
She was also totally the last character developed and it shows in her writing. Clearly just there to meet a quota. She's just so annoying. Ignore that if she were canon she would definitely not be a last minute addition and have a clear arc/narrative to accomplish in addition to helping the PC beat a brain into submission.
What controversies/drama would your character incite in fandom?
Tumblr media
I have briefly touched on this before, but unless someone was playing teen Tav or followed the HC that Lae'zel is also incredibly young, Sybelle is the youngest member of party at a stated 20. No problem, right? She's a professional in her field and by the standard of her society and race is a grown adult. Any greenness is actually the result of being a reclusive academic for her entire coming of age, not of any inborn immaturity/innocence/childishness related to her age, and damn sure not as a result of her autism.
Good luck convincing fandom of any of that, however.
She's 20. If you ship her with any character beyond Wyll (canonically ~24) or Lae'zel (fanon early twenties) then why do you support grooming/exploitation of children? Shipping her with Gale/Shadowheart/Karlach is right out unless you want the discourse of all discourse -- and forget about shipping her with Halsin, Astarion, the Emperor, or any character with an extended lifespan and centuries of life experience. And sure, people are allowed to be uncomfortable with age gaps, or to not want to see certain characters shipped for any reason. But there'd be a lot of unnecessary moralizing around someone, say, preferring to see Gale and Sybelle's dynamic as mentor/mentee or father figure/heartwarming orphan. It's not just that someone doesn't like the ship when romantic or is discomforted by a different read, it's that the ship is predatory and only backed by degenerates.
Also she's autistic, so she's so babygirl and a sweet bean and if you even think of 'sexualizing' her by acknowledging she is a grown adult who is capable of feeling sexual or romantic attraction, then you're some kind of pervert. I mean, she's never been out in the world before! What a wholesome innocent baby. Not a single sinful thought behind those big baby cow brown eyes. There's not a chance she's actually interested in living life rather than reading it and making a double entendre at the player about anatomical studies -- No, wait, go back, delete that footage, you can't sexualize an autistic child of 20, the devs are perverts too --
Also she's of Shou descent, so any attempt to depict her as an attractive young woman is fetishizing her. I'm too white to get into this except to say I have seen some friends on the dash grump about how my peers in fandom like to gatekeep how characters of color can be portrayed even by those of shared background. And I just know Sybelle is not getting out of that hellhole unscathed.
Are there ship wars? Are they a popular character to ship, or the kind of character that gets shuffled off and away from shipping for whatever reason?
Tumblr media
I can see the many branching paths off of this. Roxelena is a big tiddied bard who is both poor little rich girl and desperately seeking purpose. She's so latchable for Power Fantasy Self-Insert types to push their fav they're projecting on towards -- imagine the edgiest straight guy trying to write fic where Lena is the standard hero reward to a wildly OOC Percy or Artemis type.
On the other hand, she's a big beautiful woman so she's automatically a fat slag to most. There's definitely a contingent of fandom who oh my god just didn't realize that they didn't write Lena into their shipfics, or into any fic at all! It's totally not fatphobia gaiz! She's just such a girlboss that doesn't need a disgusting man! Ignore the fact she's pretty open and available sexually and easily distracted by men's asses!
On my mutant third appendage, the back and forth about her sexuality. To wit, Lena is bi, and was initially designed as a ship oc for a genderfluid PC in a certain piece of media. But she attended an all-female bard college where she remains infamous for her... plucking techniques, shall we say. She's also not conventionally attractive, so she must be a lesbian. But wait, what about her being bi? Well, she's not actually attracted to women, because she flirts with a character who is masculine -- even if more in the way a peacock is masculine. She's straight. But what about her being bi? This point can no longer be heard over the screaming match between the other two.
In like actual real life Lena 'fandom' I think Pupper is aiming for her to be part of a Half-Orc/Tiefling sandwich, while I paid him actual legitimate money to draw the other party Tief touching her boobs. Vote now for Team Mollena or Team Fjorlester.
How does fandom characterize/mischaracterize your characters ship in fanworks?
So here's the thing. Unless the party -- be that in tabletop play, as a Companion in 3, or played in a podcast -- were to go to Evertide for some reason, Mystery's canonical partner will never be seen. She's not a ghost in the narrative, dialogue allows Myst to talk about her and their daughter and get a sense of her history with him, but she's never present in it, either.
Canon would likely state she's a human, she and Myst arrived as outsiders to the city around the same time, and he gave her a post at his shop to get her out of a life scrubbing chamberpots. They've been together for over a decade now and have a daughter to show for it. He's out in the world trying to find whoever tried to hurt her in an attempt to rob the shop several years ago. There's a bit of an age gap between them, but he'll note that their experiences measure up when tallied.
This would give fandom a lot of ground to play with or ruin. Is she a former Adventurer herself? A farm-girl come to the city to make her fortune? A traveler who fell on hard times? How does this reflect on her dynamic with the worldly and charismatic Myst? Is the age gap significant and shift the perspective of the ship as equal, no matter what Myst says, or is it negligible and Myst is only being self-conscious about his own mid-life crisis? Does the fact he was once her employer change the power dynamic inherent to their interactions, and does it become better or worse depending on where the age gap falls? Does his refusal to marry her or recognize her as anything beyond 'partner' denote a mutual doffing of convention, or hint at a deeper hesitance to commit or even a questioning of the relationship, and if so, is he the one resisting, or her?
The gamut runs from 'old married in every way but ceremony couple who tease/fuss but are clearly devoted to one another' to 'wife guy myst and his sweet younger housewifey' to 'myst is a bad bofriend actually and his partner is a victim of that power imbalance' to 'they're actually qpp life partners and just happen to share a kid.'
Be honest. What song is playing over an AMV/tiktok of scenes between your character and their love interest?
I spun three times and landed on Lena each time. God Himself is trying to get me to shame myself on a public platform. Fuck it. Mollena hours.
Tumblr media
Angstier ones that acknowledge canon/his fate probably go feral for Francesca. The themes of loving despite the imminent heartbreak, the determination of love in every life, the attestation that love was worth any pain, it'd all play wonderfully over animatics or beautifully edited fanart compilations of Lena not just with Molly but his... Other halves, as it were.
Her being a bard, I can see bardcore covers being popular for both of them. I keep thinking specifically of that one cover of Willow. The idea he's this enigmatic force of nature that dragged her out of her sheltered existence and gave her a taste of chaos and adventure. I beg of thee please, take my hand, foil my plans, thou'rt my man...

Inspired by dash: flashes you get from the crash crew:
aurelia: cold wind in your hair, but chewing on ice anyway, stifling the show of breath. the snow is high, your armor fur-lined, and your prey just over the ridge. there is a prayer on your tongue, and a sureness in your hands, and a humming in your chest -- the thrill of the hunt.
hel: the scent of grave dirt, the familiar sound of liturgy, a sky in mourning as much as the assembled throng. it is your own voice leading the rite, and your hand supporting the sorrowful survivor, the grace of your god surrounding them and your presence an anchor.
sybelle: dust, ink on parchment, old leather, slats of sunlight from high windows. the claustrophobic comfort of the archives, knowledge all around you, and a simple joy alight in one's heart. this is perfect contentment. this is your purpose made manifest.
valas: a blank slate. silence. a hollowed out place where something is meant to be, but no, a locked door. something sings on the other side, coaxing, cajoling. whether it is for good or ill doesn't matter. he refuses to acknowledge it. it's so lonely. he can't really be at peace.
miruna: a vast ocean of blood. she is drowning, so you are drowning. there is nothing else.

i ship sybelle with literally one companion (and not just bc i ship the others elsewhere in all directions, just chemistry wise in playthrough she only really sparked with wyll) but boy howdy the conceptual thematic elements of sybelle with other companions as endgame. merlin and nimue (g*le.) vampire and virgin (take a fuckin guess.) light and dark maidenhood (sh.) might and magic (lae'z*l or k*rlach both.) jock and nerd (again, lae n k both.)
i don't know if i would ship them in my own time and i damn sure am not angling for them but fuck me if some of these core concepts would not slap if i gave a shit.

notes on romancing sybelle (as she was the most popular option on 'who is your tav romancing?' poll this week.)
Has never been in a relationship before. Shocking, I know. The life of academia archiving presented rare opportunities for romance, and by rare I mean 'she's read about it in books.' However, the whole 'I could be dead tomorrow because of a Tadpole' thing has encouraged her to try all sorts of new things and take all sots of risks.
A little self-effacing at the beginning. She knows she's awkward, runs off at the mouth, isn't totally hip to the ways of the world. She's a nerd who spent all but 8 of her 20 years sequestered in an archive. Her big fear is she lets someone in and they go 'No, Sorry.' The more the PC encourages her, the more comfortable she'll get. Teasing her about it will only hurt her feelings and make her pull away, and being more aggressive with her is an automatic turn-off.
Not poly of her own accord! Doesn't need a persuasion check or anything to get her to agree to let the player Ride the Bear, though she'll be open about not being sure it's for her, but she's not about to stop the player. They just really need to talk about it as they figure things out. She may choose to close that door later on and want a solid 1:1 commitment.
Loyal as they come. Will stand by the player through thick and thin, but has clear 'I Can Fix Them' beliefs about a more evil player. Even when overwhelmed or anxious, she will try and stand tall for the player. They can either encourage this or help impress upon her it's alright to be overwhelmed, to be anxious, to be scared, because they will be there with her.
Speaking of alignments, falls all over herself for a Prince(ss) Charming player or anyone playing lore-accurate W*ll in their playthrough. She's learning real life isn't at all like her stories, but seeing real heroes is more than she could have asked for, especially that she travels with them and gets to be a part of their story. That she finds them wildly attractive also helps.
Definitely not a pure uguu no matinggggg romance just because of her age or autism. She is not above some salacious banter about how she wants to experience the world with the player, not just live by the theory of what she's read in books or... Anatomical manuals.
Probably aligns best to Aerie of past PC romances: The innocent abroad finding her place in the world after more than half her life locked away. Her cage was self-chosen rather than forced upon her in this instance, but the parallel is there. She's much less mournful and sad than Aerie, however -- which isn't to say she's pure sunshine and rainbows, either.
Dreams of seeing the world hand in hand with the player post-canon, then settling down into some form of academia for herself. Seems intent on opening a school in the South to rival Blackstaff past a certain age. A magic-aligned player can certainly help her achieve this dream.

stolen unashamedly from my bestie @umbralined, BG MUSES + MAGIC.
CANON:
Gale: Once the pure blue of open sky, of swift lightning, of the wind in an illustration. Now, it is an ancient, vibrant purple, almost incandescent when summoned. It is vicious, a powder keg, smelling of powder and heat, dangerous.
Thaniel: Green and brown intertwining, with light dappling along the ground as it blossoms. His magic is the earth itself, old and steady, scented with lavender and herbs. It twines around the air or whoever he is casting at as it settles.
Viconia: At first glance, a dark and ink-black magic, but stare long enough or bring her to light and you'll recognize her magic is a deep and majestic purple. It is a flame in that depth, and runs furiously hot, a threat, a symbol of both passion and destruction. It smells faintly of decay.
PC:
Aurelia: White, a flurry dancing around her hand or whatever she casts. It smells of crisp air and faintly of ozone, of great heights under winter's sun. It is a heavy magic, despite these designs towards something celestial. It is, after all, something like snow rising to the top.
Hel: Green, almost the shade of what consider Necromancy, but the scent of her spells is floral, if a little preserved. A modern audience might think of pressed or funeral flowers preserved. It refracts in the light as if it has many facets.
Ismail: Red, but vibrant, like fresh blood, like rich wine, like a sunrise. It smells of dust and heat when he casts, like something old being burnt away. It flows from him, grasping out at whatever he means to touch or empower.
Miruna: Black shot through with deepest red, like a clotting wound, like something heinous and fatal. It reeks of blood, of iron. It is unpleasant, even before she knows what she is. Bhaal is only blood in her, and his power is hers, and this could be considered an early warning shot.
Sybelle: Silvery, like wisps of fine smoke, smelling of fresh ink and old parchment. It is cool to the touch, but not easily displaced, focused, neither fog nor steam but a mere sliver of weave drifting weightless against her casting.
Valas: Burgundy, a rich purple-red that shifts with light or lack thereof to reflect one note more than the other. It seems to ooze against his hand, viscous, and smells faintly of lichens, of mildew, of untended things that prosper in darkness.

thinking about sybelle leaving at end of game w her fiance and his bestie the simply dressed, sweet faced young lady everyone has come to know and be... fond of? over the last few months.
and then six months later the portal opens and sybelle just strolls out reeking of brimstone and clad in barbarian furs and badass spikes. something happened to our girl. it's kind of hot though.

oh sybelle being implied to be all of 20/explicitly being younger than w*ll would make her ship discourse bait if she was canon huh. there's one or*gins character canonically in the same age ballpark of her (w*ll) and one who is fanon around the same age (lae'z*l.)
ast*rion (239+, phys. 39), g*le (30s), h*lsin (350), d*rge and sh and k*rlach (each at minimum 30)? forget about it.

If romanced, how do they react to the Dark Urge trying to kill them in Act 2? all but Miruna, the people want to know if she'd romance anyone in the party at all and how she'd react to her own desire to kill them. // anonymous
Tumblr media
I am also excluding Valas from this because he's locked out of a Durge romance, both for mun comfort reasons and just genuinely he designates them as an enemy reasons. Aurelia, Sybelle, and Hel below the cut though, and then that Miruna meta.
Tumblr media
Aurelia is too used to monsters, to the little tells of a hunter afield. She wakes up, dark eyes fluttering open, sees the Durge. She wishes the sight of her lover put her at ease, but she pretends it does. Sits up to address the woman directly, asking what's wrong. She can't tell if her lover also feels that, or if they're the cause of that, and it's left a cool trail of sweat running down her back.
If the Dark Urge lets her in on what's happening, she's immediately on the offensive against it -- Probing questions, can the Durge control it, can she overcome it? Can Aurelia help in any way? Once it becomes apparent it's do or die, she does not intend to die. A fight for dominance, and tying her darling down. She's not sorry for it. Needs must.
She stays up the night watching her writhe ad twitch, eyes hollow, reckoning what to do. It won't last, right? She's a monster hunter by blood and by class. Even now, feral and in pain, this doesn't seem a monster to her -- only a good woman fighting with something much darker.
Aurelia tries to reach out a cool, comforting hand. The Durge bites hard enough to draw blood. She pulls her hand away, and sighs, and keeps her vigil the whole night long.
Tumblr media
Hel is a healer first. She never had any other identity worth clinging to, before the party. She comes to and sees her lover fidget, sees them sweat and shake, and she's moving instinctively. What's wrong? Tell her. Tell her everything. And she listens patiently to what ails the Durge, without flinching. She has no balm for the mind, for the darkness that plagues the one she loves -- Will they pray for one with her?
Kelemvor does not answer. None of the gods do, except for whatever lurks inside the Durge's mind. Nails dig into the pale and pocked flesh of Hel's wrists, drawing blood, the first of much to be shed tonight. Hel does not waver. If the Durge is able to pull away, to press it no further against this patient woman, then they will find themself tethered in their own bedroll. Hel, her own wrists bound with makeshift bandages, looks down at them. 'Hello, Love,' she says, trying to reach them. Reassuring them it's alright. She's not hurt -- and she won't allow this to hurt them, either.
Speaks soft words of affirmation the whole night through. Affirms her feelings for them. Makes it known she does not blame them. If her own tender touch is rebuffed, she does not flinch as others might. They can have as much of her as they can stomach, but this sickness does not get to keep them. Practical, and tender, and self-sacrificing, as she always is.
Tumblr media
Sybelle is trusting, especially where her heart is concerned. She sees nothing wrong with her lover seeking her in the night, whispering conspiratorially about what's kept them up. Once the truth comes up, she doesn't handle it at first. Ha, that's funny, sweetheart... A spooky story for a dark night... Right? And then, suddenly, it's not funny. it's real.
And she's panicking. Holds back the storm, chest heaving, but gets it done. Binds them so they can't hurt her. Terrified out of her mind -- Only 20 years old, out on her own for the first time, and dealing with a power far beyond her reckoning. The Durge comes to and she has to fight not to startle back. Admits she doesn't know who she's talking to, but -- but if they can hear her... It's going to be okay.
She doesn't sound sure of herself at all. But she doesn't leave them. A few times, she might be swiping tears from her cheeks, steadying herself. But she stays. She has no other choice. And by morning, her fear and her sadness has turned to anger. What is this? Why can't she and the one she loves subdue it? It's not natural. With all her knowledge, why can't she understand it? She's more devoted than ever, and she's going to tear whatever is wrong with the Durge out at the root, so it never hurts either of them again.
Tumblr media
And then there is Miruna.
In my own personal lore, she was in love with Gortash. It is not... A fully understood love. Never healthy. Hell, depending on the partner, it doesn't even need to be reciprocated. But it is fully felt. it is real. And it's the only force on earth that can stop her in her tracks. After all the blood and service and suffering, here was someone who chose Miruna, who saw her as an equal. Who gave her experiences outside of all that pain, the giving and receiving. For that reason, it's kind of hard to ship her, even amnesiac.
There's part of certain Companions that appeal to her. Astarion, well, he's a pretty corpse. That's all. It's not even that he's wicked but easily broken, that she sees the fractures in him and wants to dig in her claws. She has predilections, even amnesiac. She looks at his dead flesh and he is beautiful. Karlach and Lae'zel, they are powerful, they are warriors, they surely must be worthy of her own carnage. She would best them or be bested and revel in the release of it. Gale, something about him, his age, his ambitions, he echoes somewhere deep in her, she knew something like him once and adored him.
But honestly, I think in her playthrough, she'll be kissless. In Multitav, part of her future friction with the party amounts to sexual frustration compared to others falling in love or lust or finding the bond she once had and lost. She's haunted by something she can't recall, if she ever meant anything to anyone, not so set on moving forward as understanding what she was. Tethered to the past like an anchor.
If a companion was able to fight their way into hear heart, though...
She's never really upset by the Urge itself. This is just the way of the world. In a place where children can die despite hiding and lovers call out to one another in their final moments, where hags can devour children traded away by selfish mother, where the darkness corrupts and kills anything that reaches towards it, where a father's love can damn every thing and everyone it touches, why should she mourn the impulse to open a throat or play surgeon? The only thing that has upset her about it is that she is no the one in control.
I feel she'd be furious about it. Not about potentially killing the one she loves -- She must have known loss before, mustn't she? She tells herself it wouldn't matter, because lying to herself is easy. That she was told this would happen and can't do anything to stop it, that's what enrages her. Having to rely on her lover to restrain her, to hold her back. To sweat and writhe and curse because someone else's plans are denied. A hand finally reached back to her and she wants to bite down until her teeth grind against bone. Damn Bhaal for it.
Even with Gortash she made threats of violence. But that was because she wanted him and wanted to keep him to herself -- not because her Father said she ought to.

"At this point, I'm amazed at how few races possess honest psychic potential. I mean, I can't swing my pack off my shoulder without hitting something that's tethered to my mind -- And I don't mean on account of the tadpole." She's bent over her notebook at camp, frowning over her latest figure sketch of a Myconid. "Appalling that the rest of us haven't caught up with them, to be honest." // @yellowfingcr

BG3 muses + Worship
Aurelia: Silvanus. She's not super devoted or anything, it's just her childhood faith from being raised by Druids. Still, she keeps some of his tenets, protecting the green of the Earth and maintaining balance.
Gale: Mystra. Unfortunately. It doesn't help that he's still kind of tethered to her even after all of that given the nature of his magic/class. Imagine being bound to your awful ex forever by divine edict.
Hel: Kelemvor. His special grave cleric and has had personal audience with her god as a child. They will have their disagreements in centuries to come, but for now, she's his little pogcamp and eventual Chosen.
Miruna: She can't remember. As a bard, her magic does not flow from the divine, and the only voice that compels her cries out for violence. It takes a while for her to realize that she's closer to the divine than anyone else.
Sybelle: Mystra. Used to dream as a girl of becoming a Sister of the Silver Fire, until she realized how much travel that entailed. She's questioning her faith after recent events between her mentor and goddess...
Valas: Listen. His mom served then double crossed Lolth, and did the same to Shar. His dad is Bhaalspawn who went rogue and opposed the Church. As a sorcerer, he has no need of faith to seize power. So fuck 'em.

aw naur now i’m thinking of sybelle who grew up more sheltered having to learn nature is cyclical and a dick. death is a part of life. she wants to save the bunny from the bobcat, and the deer from the wolf, and the bobcat from the assassin vines. she means well! but she’s not seeing the bigger picture.
what gives on life more value than another?
druid companion/player or grave cleric hel having to sit down with her and have the 'why should the wolf or the bobcat starve?' conversation to help her see that it isn't bad. it just is. but sybelle is upset it has to end brutally, that it hurts at the end for creatures that never did anything wrong...
valas then casually asks how many goblins they orphaned at the keep and throws the whole lesson into chaos.
