Piaggio has unveiled the Vespa Elettrica electric scooter at the Auto Expo 2020. While the Vespa Elettrica has been in production in Europe for some time now, it's not the Elettrica which will likely be launched in India. According to Piaggio India CEO and Managing Director Diego Graffi, for India, the Italian brand will develop a new electric scooter, which will be made specifically for the Indian market, as the electric two-wheeler space begins to expand. But it won't be just an electric scooter, and Piaggio is exploring the development of multiple platforms in the electric vehicle space. "With the growing changes in the electric two-wheeler ecosystem, Piaggio India is in the process of introducing innovative electric mobility solutions in India keeping the local consumer in mind. We are exploring multiple platforms for designing electric mobility solutions for India," said Graffi.

The Vespa Elettrica showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 may not be launched in India The Vespa Elettrica has a brushless DC motor with 4kW peak power (around 5.4 bhp) and develops 200 Nm of peak torque. The battery is a 4.2 kWh lithium ion unit, with a claimed range of 100 km in Eco mode, and 70 km range in Power mode. The Elettrica's maximum speed is rated at 70 kmph in Power mode, and 45 kmph in Eco mode. The Vespa Elettrica offers a long list of features, including Bluetooth connectivity with the Vespa Connectivity mobile app, and a full digital instrument cluster with TFT display. The speedometer also offers call and message display.

All these models will be launched in the second quarter of 2020. Kia Sorento, Granby International and the Adrenaline Souvenir Album
Text and photos by Michael Hozjan
Let me first apologize for my absence over the last few weeks but as you’ll see I’ve been busy coming out with yet another publication in the Adrenaline automotive line up.
Tumblr media
Kia’s Sorento
Regular readers know that each year I make the annual pilgrimage to Quebec’s largest automotive event, the Granby International Car Show, and each year I bring along what I think will be a new car that will be a hit with the show goers that have come to see vintage iron of all sorts. In the past there have been days that I’ve spent more time showing people around the vehicle parked in my booth than my publications, Ram’s ProMaster is a case in point.
Of course there has to be a certain criteria to my ride of the weekend; first and foremost it must be able to carry my entire show booth which this year included three folding eight-foot tables, two chairs, my 10’ x 10’ tent, boxes of Klassic & Moto, several boxes of Klassic Plus magazines as well as the last three remaining boxes of the Adrenaline Car Show Agenda. On top of which some promotional swag, tarps in case of rain, a cooler, duffle bag of clothes and lots of blankets to keep the truck’s cargo bay from getting scratched. Lastly it must accommodate my six-foot frame in the cargo bay, as I tend to sleep in the truck. This came about one year when while staying at a local motel, a sudden storm nearly ripped my tent from its mooring. Others weren’t as lucky. From that day on I’ve been staying on sight enjoying the first rays of the sun as it rises over the grounds of the flea market area.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Admittedly the mid-size Sorento was not my first pick for the weekend, but as they say, the best laid plans…so when my ride that I had booked months earlier became unavailable, the folks at Kia Canada stepped up to the plate offering me a brand new SXL. Still, I was apprehensive that everything would fit into the curvaceous suv as past experience often proved curves and cargo volume do not always mix, and indeed, “Does all that into the Sorento ?” was the question not of the day bit of the weekend. The answer was yes.  It may have been loaded to the roof, but it all fit. Well all except ten cases of our latest publication, which we picked up at the printers on route to the show with a buddy’s truck. The Sorento easily swallowed up what was left on Sunday afternoon.
Tumblr media
The Sorento has matured nicely through its three generations to be a viable contender in the mid-size suv niche. Now in its fourth year of the latest generation, for 2019 the Sorento has received a mild facelift including the new corporate grille, LED fog and taillights, a new front fascia and rear bumper. Under the hood the 185 horsepower 2.4L inline four mated to a 6-speed automatic is still the entry-level powerhouse while the 290 horsepower, 3.3L V6 gets a new 8-speed automatic in lieu of last year’s 6-speed. The 2.0L turbocharged four has been retired.
Prices start at a reasonable $30, 205 for the front drive LX FWD model powered by the aforementioned 2.4L four. Add another two grand if you want all-wheel-drive.  For $34,705 you can get into the 290 horse 3.3 V6 with LX trim, with cloth seats and a third row of seats. Yes you read that right the Sorento is available with seating for seven, making it one of the lowest priced seven passenger suvs on the market.
Tumblr media
Getting into the techno world with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto will cost you, beginning with $37,005 EX trim with four-cylinder power and leather seats. Included in the package is UVO Intelligence which links this suv to your smart phone for remote start/stop and set your climate control remotely.
In all, there are a total of eight trim levels topping off with our SXL tester’s tag of $51,075.
The 252 lb.ft. of torque in the V6 scurries the Sorento down the road very nicely thank you and the new 8-speed tranny is a perfect match with seamless shifts and powering up when called upon. Towing capacity is a respectable 5,000 lbs. Smoothing out our wonderful third world roads is another Sorento strong point with a compliant, quiet ride.
The Harman Kardon sound system and sat radio made the drive down to Quebec’s Eastern Townships that much more pleasant.  Oh and thanks for keeping a dial for tuning the radio stations when opting for others than the pre-selected posts.
Tumblr media
Two visitors to the show who surrendered their 2004 Sorento in 2012 were surprised by the cabin revisions and refinements including the heated/cooled Nappa leather seats, panorama sunroof and 8-inch touch screen. The SXL’s larger touch screen (7-inch screen is standard) and 360 degree camera came in handy when it came time to squeeze into my tight, roped off parking spot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the third row seats up there’s 11.3 cu.ft. of cargo room, drop the third row and you get 38 cu.ft. of usable space. For my Granby trip, with both rows folded, that space jumped to 73 cu.ft., a respectable number considering the Kia’s exterior dimensions.
Tumblr media
The 3rd row seats appear more as jump seats lacking some padding,
And while the two front buckets and the second row seats offer an abundance of head and legroom, the same cannot be said about the third row. Fitting seven full-sized adults will be a tight squeeze, made tighter by cup holders and arm rests. Honda’s Pilot, the Toyota Highlander and VW’s Atlas may be a better choice if you regularly haul a truckload of adults.
Tumblr media
At just over 50 grand the Sorento may first appear to on the high side, but taking a look at what you get, like the panoramic moon roof, the dual climate control, power heated seats and steering wheel, a long warranty and a slew of safety awards and this mid-size wagon starts looking pretty good. Yes its smaller in size to its competition, but that doesn’t take away from the Sorento’s value. Oddly enough the four cylinder, according to Kia gets superior gas mileage over the V6, 10.7city/8.2highway vs. 12.5/9.7. My average was a tad better, even with a full load  (9.1L/100kms), running the truck mostly in eco mode through the 760km voyage on the brand spanking new Sorento. Which means that after its break in period, the V6 might just be getting closer to the four’s gas consumption.
If you’re looking for a handsome mid size hauler that can swallow up loads of cargo, don’t forget to make the Sorento down on your short list of must drives.
Price as tested: $51,075*

Car Review: 2019 Kia Optima SXL OVERVIEW A family sedan and sports sedan in a tidy, richly equipped package. PROSAthletic performance, generous amenities, standard safety system/crash test scores CONSAnnoying lane departure warning system, inane “Smart” trunk release VALUE FOR MONEYGood WHAT TO CHANGE?Turn up the turbo’s wick and produce a GT version along the lines of the Stinger GT. And, yes, that is coming with the next redo. HOW TO SPEC IT?Like a Stinger GT... Of the mid-sized sedans on the market, not one has been reworked more than the Kia Optima. For 2019, it gets yet another facelift to keep it contemporary and in touch with a shifting segment — mostly a shift away from sedans and into crossovers! The SXL’s refresh sharpens things with a revised front fascia with LED fog lights, LED interior ambient lighting, a sport steering wheel and smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality along with a simplified infotainment system. The revised infotainment system is easier to use and it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while allowing the driver to use the standard built-in navigation system. The cabin’s layout further simplifies things. Everything above the steering wheel’s crossbar is about displaying important information; everything below is about controlling things. The format makes it a no-nonsense proposition. The rest of it sees high-quality soft-touch materials and, in the SXL, swanky diamond-pattern Nappa leather seating to go along with everything from a power

The new 2020 KIA Sorento offers something different than its predecessor. What you get is a new model that is designed to be bigger than a standard midsize crossover. However, the new Kia Sorento is not as large as a seven-row family hauler. What makes it better than other competitors is that it comes with the distinctive appeal for those who are not satisfied with some common offerings.
2020 Kia Sorento Hybrid Price
What is New for 2020 Kia Sorento?
The new KIA Sorento is available in seven and five-passenger configurations. When compared to its five-seat rivals, it offers more space and practicality. Another good thing is that the new model is less expensive than its rivals. The new model receives some minor adjustments.
2020 Kia Sorento Interior, Performance, and Driving
It seems that handling is more ponderous. Some drivers may notice that the new model feels weaker in real-world driving. The good news is that the steering is fairly accurate. The new Kia Sorento is one of the most comfortable crossovers that we have ever tested so far.

The new Kia Sorento is available in five trim levels. You can choose LX, L, SX, EX, and SX Limited. In addition, you are also allowed one of those three engine options. The LX and L come with a standard engine option. They are equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which can deliver 185 horsepower. If you want more power, then you can choose the EX which comes with the 2.0 turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Each engine is available with a six-speed automatic transmission. While the front-wheel drive is standard, the L can be ordered with all-wheel-drive. There are some standard features available.
KIA Forte GT Hatchback / Sedan.

El respaldo My KIA+

Quick Take: 2018 Kia Cadenza SXL
EAST LOS ANGELES, California — Here are seven words I thought I would never hear: “Hey, Ed your Kia is totally baller,” said my friend Jeannette Harshbarger the other day.
At first I’m wasn’t sure if she was kidding or not, but after taking a closer look at the front of our tester, a 2018 Kia Cadenza in a fresh coat of Snow White Pearl paint and a rich chocolate brown Napa leather interior—well, it actually looks kind of cool.
Well, at least up front, anyway, the grille doesn’t remind me of a Tiger’s nose—it looks more like teeth or fangs and it’s flanked by a set of cat eyes for headlights. It definitely looks better than most kidney and spindle-shaped grilles out there. Design chief Peter Schreyer, formerly at Audi, had a hand in its recent facelift.
Around back, the Cadenza is a bit plain, but the overall basic design is pleasing, if a bit generic—but in a good way for an executive sedan.
I never thought much of the Cadenza and its name for some strange reason reminds me of Costanza, as in George Costanza from “Seinfeld.” More vehicles should be named after celebrities or fictional characters—who wouldn’t want to own a Kramer, Newman, or a Seinfeld? But a Cadenza? Sure, why not, it sounds better than Azera, Hyundai’s now-discontinued-in-the-U.S. version of the sedan.
The Kia proved a pleasant people mover for the daily grind from downtown L.A. to El Segundo. Though its not as dynamic as a German sedan, but it’s all business and gets the job done.
Under the hood, it packs a 3.3-liter V-6 engine that lays down 290 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters so you can pretend it’s sportier than it actually is.
While the Cadenza is not the quickest sedan on the block, its beautiful panoramic sunroof can open or close in a stealthy 5-seconds or less. It’s big and awesome—and I thought I might lose a finger in it. The liner shade trails in a second or so later, which is also pretty impressive. Our Four Seasons Kia Stinger has the same setup.
I can live without the Cadenza’s rear window power sunshade, but it’s there if you want to try and sneak into the carpool lane during rush hour.
Inside, the cabin is quiet, comfortable, its controls are easy to find, the shifter knob is normal (unlike the Stinger’s), there’s an AUX jack and USB port. There’s also an 8.0-inch touchscreen and there’s even a volume knob AND a tuning knob for the 12-speaker Harmon-Kardon sound system. How cool and retro is that?
EPA fuel numbers tout a 24/30-mpg city/highway mileage with a combined total of 26 mpg. We averaged about 21.6 mpg in mostly freeway and city crawling.
Our biggest complaint about the Kia came from co-workers who couldn’t fit their surfboards and gear in the rear because the seats don’t fold down. Boo-hoo—get a hatchback or crossover already.
With a base price of $45,590 to the top of the line trim (our tester topped out at $45,720 with a cargo net and tray option) which seems pretty steep. It’s a lot of cash when you can get a fully loaded Honda, Toyota, or even a Mazda for less.
Granted, your chances of having someone tell you your car is “totally baller” are next to nothing. But if you want something that stands out from the pack, give the 2018 Kia Costanza—err, Cadenza—a closer look.
