The Challenge 2022

Damn, what a ride it's been these past two months. Honestly it feels like it was all a dream but it isn't. One year ago I arrived in UnityVerse and one year later I was in the finals of The Challenge, which was going on when I first showed up to UnityVerse last year. I was pretty nervous 'cause nobody knew me, I didn't know shit, but every day I slowly started to get more confident. I slowly built up the courage to live my life in UnityVerse and form all these crazy friendships and bonds with people I care about. The Challenge 2022 this year isn't a perfect competition - actually no New Era is perfect, but we worked with the material and time given to us to make this New Era a special one. I couldn't be more thankful. Congrats to Jay @switchbladenz on the win because he really deserves it more than anyone and I'm so glad we were a team, we pretty much dominated the entire competition.

I appreciate all of y'all. I don't know what's next in my UnityVerse career but I can promise you that I'm not going anywhere - maybe I'll show up in PMW and win the All Star Title, who knows? Anything is possible for Daniel Garcia. Thanks for giving me a chance, thanks for The Challenge, and all the in between.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

I would like to be known as someone who hasn't just changed joshi puroresu for the better, but UnityVerse too! I want to be remembered as someone who people can look up to if they are struggling or if they don't believe in themselves. I want to be that spark of hope that helps them keep going every single day, and I hope I can do that, especially with being a leader!

🎁 PRESENT - what types of presents would they be most happy to receive? are they good at gift giving?

I would be really happy to receive gifts like new clothes or makeup! Anything to keep me as the Top Kawaii of the Cosmos! I'm really good at gift giving because it's important to think of someone's personality and what they would want in a gift! It's always a nice feeling to make someone happy. 😊

❇️ SPARKLE - what is their most prized possession? what do they value?

My most prized possession is probably my DREAM SHiNE armband. It continues to remind me of the moments I had while teaming up with Arisa. I was angry and jealous that she got to win the white belt, so wearing that armband helped me remember my goal and our team, especially when Arisa retired. I wanted to win the white belt for her, and I'm glad I did.

Honestly I'm not sure.. tattoos are cool! But doesn't it hurt really bad to get one? Funny enough because I'm literally a pro-wrestler. If I got one it'd probably be something about BCC. 😂

I'd say an extrovert because I'm an introvert and I feel like a relationship should have people with completely different personalities because, y'know.. opposites attract! They'd also probably convince me to go out more and get out of my comfort zone, which I should do! 😂

Happy Birthday to my favorite person in the entire world, @switchbladenz.

I'll be honest - I'm not the best when it comes to displaying my feelings to the public. Despite that though, it still surprises me that we're together right now. After all the years in the New Japan Dojo that we spent together and eventually we started to grow apart in UnityVerse in 2018 and I just didn't see you as someone I loved anymore.

I think if there's a word to describe UnityVerse's 2023, it'd be unpredictable. I remember being so excited to come back to show you how much I've changed, only for me to realize that when we talked again you acted the same as the silly guy with a New Zealand accent that I fell in love with so many years ago.

We've been through a lot these past few months, but there's no one else that's appreciated me more than you. You've seen me at my best, my worst and everything in between. We're even so grateful to have a beautiful daughter together and I can't wait to continue our journey as parents 'cause I wouldn't wanna do it with anyone else. You've grown so much these past few years and it's great to see you find your purpose as a dad.

I love you Jay, hope you have a great birthday. You're the best fucking person that's ever been in my life. ❤️

Coral — What's something you’re passionate about?

Definitely professional wrestling. Especially during the pandemic where I wasn't able to go to Japan or the US, it sucked not doing the thing I love the most. Obviously right now it's been a dream getting to wrestle in America in one of the top companies in the world. Makes me really happy.

Bubblegum — How do you feel about your love life right now? are you happy with it?

I'm extremely happy with my love life. I never thought of myself as someone who would be interested in relationships or dating, but @switchbladenz changed that for me! He's like my best friend - we laugh together, get upset together, and I feel like it's an overall healthy relationship. Mario Sunshine Carnival for life!

I hate going in-person, I miss the easier days of remote learning and being able to finish homework early so we would have time to do other things like UnityVerse! Now it's really unfortunate that we finish our work so late, school takes up so much time!

Does anyone else feel like SpongeBob in that Procrastination episode where he takes forever to do his work? That's me every day. I forgot that's the one thing I didn't like about UnityVerse when I left, was that we had to do school. 😂
