So in midnight suns each of the characters have a default bathing suit, yes a true swimming suit, for lounging by the pool, for real! I can’t make this up, this includes the good doctor!
Tumblr media
Which wow six pack abs! 👁️ 👁️ 🥵
I don’t see him with a six pack, I’m partial to the dad bod! Stephen theory I’ve seen running around, but! Enjoy the Strange eye candy all the same 😩
Even though he has the option to be poolside, it’s actually an activity that he dislikes, so if I pick it as a hangout I’m afraid it’ll cause me to lose friendship points, he and I are besties/lovers whatever 😝
However I want to do it just to seem him in his little trunks for my own selfish needs and to see him squirm a bit, I bet he would gripe about it and be very grumpy!
Midnight suns Stephen is kind of spicy! 🌶️ it’s a refreshing change from calm cool collected Stephen in the MCU and I’m really liking this version, he’s a grump sometimes but it’s also endearing! But I’m biased!
Midnight suns Stephen is also a talker which is also a difference from MCU, he’ll talk your ear off with all his mystical talk which I love, but the other characters think is annoying because it does sounds like he’s being full of himself but I think this Stephen is more in his head, he’s definitely more seasoned than MCU Stephan and more confident which comes across cocky.
There is a real thoughtfulness and sweetness that feels like is buried underneath his Sorcerer Supremeness. It’s really interesting and makes me want to explore it more it more in maybe a fanfic of my own, maybe.
As much as I love MCU Stephen, I think Midnight Suns Stephen is more well rounded, almost like he’s earned his right to be cocky a bit while we know MCU Stephen still has a lot to learn, just my thoughts tho :)
Also LOOK 👀 AT THIS OLD MAN I WANT TO JUMP HIS BONES 🥵 😩
He’s a little extra with the gold trim and his little rings but! It suits him and I love it 🥰
This perfectly flawed man, as Clea says 😌

Pool Maintenance Made Easy: Tips and Tricks for Crystal Clea
Tumblr media
Taking care of your pool can sometimes feel like a daunting task, but with the right tips and tricks, pool maintenance can be made easy. One important aspect of keeping your pool crystal clear is regular skimming and cleaning. Leaves, bugs, and other debris can quickly accumulate on the surface of the water, leading to a cloudy or dirty pool. By skimming the surface daily and cleaning out the skimmer basket and pump filter regularly, you can prevent debris buildup and keep your pool looking clean and inviting.
In addition to skimming and cleaning, it’s important to regularly test and balance the chemicals in your pool water. Proper water chemistry is essential for maintaining a clear and healthy pool. You should test your pool water regularly and adjust the chemical levels as needed to ensure the water is properly balanced. This includes maintaining the right levels of pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and calcium hardness. By keeping your pool water properly balanced, you can prevent issues such as algae growth and cloudy water, and ensure that your pool remains crystal clear for swimming.
Regular maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool, brushing the walls and floor, and checking and maintaining the pool’s equipment are also key to keeping your pool in top condition. By staying on top of these tasks and following these tips and tricks for pool maintenance, you can enjoy a sparkling clean pool all season long. With a little effort and consistency, pool maintenance can be made easy, leaving you more time to relax and enjoy your pool instead of worrying about its upkeep.

Since November, I’ve been intending to go and swim in the local outdoor pool, and on Tuesday I finally managed it. I’ve had my swimming bag packed all that time. I just needed to think through the steps before I could manage it. Even then, it took me all day to get in my car and drive down there, and I don’t think I’d have done it if H hadn’t gone with me. Until the moment I got in the water, swimming in a new place seemed like a multi-stage problem that I couldn’t solve." The Clearing by Katherine May

I truly never got over how apparently fragile I am, how unresilient I proved to be. That was one of the worst parts for me, that I knew something about myself now, which was that I was delicate. I had been rocked into a full nervous breakdown. ... All I knew was that, should something go wrong — a car accident, maybe, or a mugging — I would be prone to falling apart." But if the swimming pool equipment is not well-kept and clean, the overall experience may suffer dramatically.  Just Swim, a well-known swimming institution in Chennai, sets a high importance on maintenance and hygiene to ensure that everyone has a safe and happy swim experience.
1. Regular cleaning schedules
One of the most important components of keeping a clean swimming pool is to stick to an in-keeping cleaning plan. Just Swim pools are cleaned daily to prevent waste and pollutants from building up. This includes washing the walls to prevent algae growth, clearing the pool's bottom of silt, and scraping the top to remove floating debris.
2. Maintaining Water Quality
Just Swim employs innovative water filtration systems that continually circulate and filter pool water, removing pollutants and assuring purity. In addition, the water's chemistry is regularly examined and modified. pH levels, and chlorine concentrations,  are measured regularly using precision testing kits. Just Swim maintains a suitable chemical balance to ensure that the water is not only clean but also relaxing on swimmers' skin and eyes.
3. Use of Safe and Effective Chemicals
Just Swim uses high-quality disinfectants and algaecides that are both effective and safe for swimmers. Chlorine levels are strictly controlled to kill bacteria and viruses without irritating them. The facility also employs shock treatments frequently to eliminate challenges.
4. Advanced Filtration Systems
The system that filters the water is important for keeping the pool clean. Just Swim has cutting-edge filtering technology that ensures pollutants are removed continuously and effectively. Sand filtration systems, cartridge filters, and, in some situations, diatomaceous clay (DE) filters are used because of their outstanding filtration properties. These systems are regularly maintained to ensure that they are running at peak performance and constantly provide clean water.
5. Showering and hygiene facilities
Just Swim encourages proper hygiene habits in its consumers by providing clean, maintained proper shower facilities. Swimmers should shower before entering the pool to avoid introducing sweat, filth, and makeup into the water while swimming. In many regions of the world, still, these fundamental amenities are scarce, resulting in hygiene-related health problems. Providing secure and private showering and sanitation services is an essential component of supporting public health and human rights.
6. Inspections and audits take place regularly.
Just Swim offers regular inspections and audits to verify that facilities are clean and well-maintained. These include internal and external audits carried out by health and safety professionals. The facility complies with all necessary regional medical rules as well as the highest standards in the industry. Any flaws discovered during inspections are promptly remedied to make the pool safe for swimmers.
7. Education Programs and Awareness
Education is a crucial part of Just Swim's sanitary strategy. The facility offers workshops and training courses to help swimmers appreciate the value of pool care and personal hygiene. Just Swim fosters an awareness culture, encouraging all users to participate in maintaining a secure and sanitary swimming environment.
8. Responsive Maintenance Team
The maintenance team at Just Swim is always on standby to address any issues that arise. If it is a broken tile, a damaged filtration system, or a water chemical imbalance, the staff works rapidly to remedy the problem. Their active approach to maintenance keeps the pool in peak condition at all times.
Conclusion
Just Swim's focus on pool maintenance and hygiene indicates its commitment to providing an excellent swimming experience. They keep their pools safe, clean, and welcome by enforcing high cleaning standards, using contemporary filtration systems, and encouraging good hygiene. For anyone looking to swim in Chennai, Just Swim stands out as a facility that prioritizes its clients' health and well-being.

7 Ways Tree Removal Boosts Home Building Projects
Tree removal Sydney services have been helping many property owners get rid of their weak or dead trees without sacrificing their surroundings. And if there is one thing that can benefit the most, it is home building projects. Home construction can be challenging enough, so imagine having limited space because of trees. Here are some of the many compelling reasons why home builders consider tree removal:
Space Optimisation
The first reason on the list is space optimisation. If they want to create a bigger home or backyard, there is no tree limiting their plans. Any additional structures or expansions they do for the outdoor area are possible but with proper design and planning. Without these two, removing them can be just a waste of time and money.
Site Preparation
Many DIY home projects can be done once the tree is removed, like having a swimming pool, installing arbour and benches, buying a fire table, and purchasing a garden bench. Whatever it is that you want to do, there is no limit to your decision. The site will be prepared by the professionals, enhancing the overall process.
Enhanced Safety
Even if there are no tree-related injuries reported on your property, seeing them weak can already pose some health and safety risks. Tree services can help with the issue, but sometimes, removing them is the best option. If you are given the same statement, you might want to consider getting it. The problem will start small until you see falling branches during the storm, and it is dangerous to future home projects.
Access Improvements
Removing the tree can give way to tools, equipment, and machinery that will be used by home builders. Nothing hinders their movement, the delivery of materials, and the operation of construction vehicles. Everything in the project is smooth, guaranteeing property owners smooth operation and following a timeline.
Sunlight Exposure
In this generation that people care about their looks, some people are getting afraid of a little sunlight exposure. They will reason out that they have just applied their makeup and do not want to ruin it. However, sunlight exposure can benefit many, including home builders. Health will also say yes to proper timing of sun exposure, and here are some of its benefits:
Boosts Mood - if you are feeling down, going outside can give you a refreshing view of the world. Sunlight is there to welcome you, stimulating the production of the happy hormone or serotonin. Having a high level of serotonin can improve the mood and give you a good sense of everything. Once your mood is boosted, notice how you do things better.
Enhances Vitamin D Production - one of the vitamins you will get from sunlight is vitamin D. The skin produces this vitamin that could positively affect your brain function and mood regulation. Do not worry because a little sunlight exposure will not hurt your beauty. Once the tree is gone in the backyard, you will have more space to expose yourself to the sun and get that vitamin production!
Reduces Stress - stress can be caused by various factors, and there are times that you feel like getting out of the situation is impossible. However, before deciding anything, clearing up your mind is necessary. Reducing stress can be done through eating, keeping quiet, and going outside. If the latter is what you prefer, expect the natural light to have a calming effect on your mind. When that happens, notice how your stress levels are reduced.
Utility Installation
Once the tree is removed, the home builders will already have time to install water and electricity lines. The sewer connections will also be included in the process. Not having the tree around can make the job easier and less complicated.
Pest Prevention
Trees that are already unhealthy can be a home to pests. And when that happens, the property will also get badly affected. Once the tree is gone, say goodbye to termites, carpenter ants, and rodents and hello to a clearer property.
Homebuilders will be more efficient once the tree is gone because they have more space to make the property pleasing to the eyes. They will also not have issues with safety and sustainability. Tree removal might sound terrifying, but it can do positive things to elevate property value and create sturdy homes.

The Handmaid's Tale - ‘God Bless the Child’ Review
Tumblr media
"Smart girls are trouble."
Three baptisms and a reunion. Actually, two reunions.
While I find the Gilead religion dense and weird, the photography in this series is so striking. The lines of people in their Gilead uniforms crossing the bridge where Janine jumped, the red and white of the Handmaids from above as they climbed the stairwell shaped like a giant eye. Some of the Handmaids got primo seats to the baptism-ish ceremony so that they could watch their stolen babies in the arms of their kidnappers being dedicated to the harsh Gilead god.
In contrast, there were flashbacks to Hannah's baptism where the emphasis was on love instead of fear. June saw Hannah's baptism as "insurance," a way to please God if God exists, while Luke saw it as saying thank you to God in a time of widespread infertility. At the end of the episode, Luke and Moira had Nichole baptized in a much smaller and quieter ceremony, cleansing her of the horror of her origins, accompanied by "Down in the River to Pray." That was so beautiful that it actually made me cry.
As the Gilead "dedication" culminated in a reception at the Putnam house, I thought it made for a perfect little counterpoint to the season one episode where the wives and handmaids gathered for Angela's birth. This time, the mood was very different. The Wives were recovering from the aftermath of Serena's confrontation with the Commanders, while the Handmaids in the kitchen spoke truth about their imprisonment (except for Ofmatthew) and June was actively looking for opportunities to Resist.
"Wear the dress. Pull the strings." Serena Waterford was June's chief target, and I loved every scene they had together – especially the one by the pool that visually emphasized how different things used to be. (Are there swimsuit uniforms approved for use in Gilead? I'm trying to picture them.) June and Serena quietly smoking together showed their strong connection, how much they have both been changed by their previously poisonous relationship.
Tumblr media
I also enjoyed how Fred sought out June's marital advice, and how cleverly June used that opportunity to soften him toward the idea of giving Serena some control and power behind the scenes. Serena and Fred see June as a person now, almost like a participant in their marriage. Well, come to think of it, she was a participant in their marriage.
Serena could be invaluable to the Resistance as the power behind Fred. She's so much smarter than he is. While Serena still sees things as a Gilead Wife – illustrated by her reaction of "poor Naomi" after the Aunt Lydia incident – Serena actually told June where Hannah might be found, and when. Until now, I've been waiting to see Serena revert back to her hateful, abusive season one self, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Interestingly, Naomi Putnam has changed, too. She thanked June for saving baby Angela's life on the bridge, and showed genuine compassion toward "that horrible girl" Janine. It also appeared that Naomi is still Serena's friend, even after Serena's finger-losing disgrace before the Commanders. Naomi has come a long way. Is she possibly a Resistance recruit, too?
In truth, every character on this show has depth, and all of them have changed. Aunt Lydia, the personification of evil, lost it and beat Janine with a cattle prod when Janine broke the rules and begged the Putnams to be allowed back into their marriage. And yet, Aunt Lydia knows "her girls" hate her guts, knows she deserves their hatred, and she's clearly in constant physical pain. The way she burst into tears when she was alone gave me a real twinge. Who is the real Aunt Lydia? The monstrous remover of eyes and the whipper of feet? Or the kind woman who thanked Janine for the tea and told her she was glad she had brought her back from the Colonies?
Meanwhile in Canada
The Commander leading the "dedication" referred to the horrible sinner who stole a daughter of Gilead (Nichole). Cut to Emily disembarking from a train, about to reunite with her wife and son. I think of Emily as so strong and tough, running over Guardians with a stolen car, poisoning that Wife in the Colonies, stabbing Aunt Lydia. Here, she was vulnerable and fragile, frightened of getting hurt. In fact, she looked like an escaped political prisoner and maimed rape victim, which is what she is.
Alexis Bledel and Clea Duvall gave lovely performances as Emily and Sylvia kept their emotions in check for Oliver's sake, although what they were feeling was visible right below the surface. The most effective scene was of the two of them crying quietly as Emily was reading her son Oliver a story about dinosaurs. It ended with them on the front porch together, possibly about to talk. Will Emily end up going to a hotel? I hope not. If anyone deserves a happy ending, Emily does.
As the Putnam party ended, a Guardian brought Fred a video of a pro-Chicago protest in Little America that showed Luke holding baby Nichole, deliberately displaying her for the camera ("Baby's first protest"). That gave Serena comfort, knowing baby Nichole was all right, but all I could think about was that it might endanger June. Will Fred cover for her again, I assume?
Bits:
— The pious Ofmatthew, June's new walking partner, has had three babies for the district, and omigod. She may outwardly believe in this Gilead crap, but there has to be some suppressed rage inside of her. Has to be.
— I loved how Aunt Lydia riding up on her scooter injected a comical note in that procession over the bridge. Alma called her "Hell on wheels."
— Serena's false finger was back. It's a decorative and easy way to film without CGI. Clever.
— Sylvia's house was decorated in wife colors, teal green.
— Along with all of the family photos that included her, Emily looked longest at Oliver's drawing of her in a superhero costume.
— In the flashbacks, Holly called Catholic priests "holier-than-thou child molesters." I thought that was a pointed little reference to what is done to Handmaids and babies in Gilead.
— Fred kept talking about how good the "deviled eggs" were. That felt like a Handmaid/baby/fertility reference, too.
— Luke again took the wife role and changed Hannah's diaper before the baptism. They keep doing that with him. I like it.
— There was a lot of baptism imagery all through this episode, mostly of plain glasses of water that were half-full of optimism (and of course, the swimming pool).
Quotes:
June: "It takes a village. And machine guns."
Holly: "You cannot let religion control your choices. That's what they want."
June: "I ought to feel hatred for this man. I know I ought to feel it, but it isn't what I do feel. What I feel is more complicated than that. I don't know what to call it. It isn't love."
Really? That June could feel anything other than blinding, eternal hatred for Fred and Serena is a credit to her. Even if they have saved her life. I guess it's a good example of how existence in Gilead is a constant balancing act, though.
Serena: "Have I missed anything?" June: "Just the usual. Jell-O shots, charades, little karaoke."
Best episode so far this season. Four out of four glasses half-full of water,
---
Billie Doux loves good television and spends way too much time writing about it.

I told you all this before, when you have a swimming pool, do not use chlorine, use salt water, the healing, salt water is the healing. Look at the sunset, life is amazing, life is beautiful, life is what you make it. Egg whites, turkey sausage, wheat toast, water. Of course they don’t want us to eat our breakfast, so we are going to enjoy our breakfast.
Major key, don’t fall for the trap, stay focused. It’s the ones closest to you that want to see you fail. Another one. It’s important to use cocoa butter. It’s the key to more success, why not live smooth? Why live rough? The key to success is to keep your head above the water, never give up. Watch your back, but more importantly when you get out the shower, dry your back, it’s a cold world out there.

Coming Out: Six great sexual awakenings in the movies
The term “moffie” is South African in origin and is one of the most aggressive and offensive slang terms for gay person. It is the provocative name of the new film by director Oliver Hermanus, a story of private sexuality facing off against public hatred. It sees well-off Nicholas (Kai Luke Brummer) flying the family coop to complete his military service, which includes active service on the border with Angola.
The air of machismo is expected, but he quickly discovers that there’s a zero tolerance policy towards any behaviour that might be seen as sexually deviant. If such behaviour is witnessed, it’s punishable first by extreme humiliation and degradation, and then a course of ruthless medical correction. But amid the horrors that Nicholas witnesses is his burgeoning love for a fellow recruit. At the centre of the film is a flashback to one of Nicholas’ formative sexual experiences, as he accidentally finds himself watching men taking a shower at an outdoor swimming pool.
Here are some other examples of films in which characters are seen coming to terms with – and embracing – sexuality in all manner of different ways.
1. Moonlight (2016)
First it was a breakthrough but soon it became a behemoth: Barry Jenkins’ screen adaptation of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s ‘In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue’ is an indie coming-of-age story that went on to secure Oscar gold. This three-part tale depicts three chapters in the life of Chiron, and it charts the fractious relationship with his own sexuality: from confused initial pangs in the first chapter; to a sudden realisation in the second; then romantic acceptance in the third.
2. Carol (2015)
This wonderful, lilting 1950s-set romance is based on a novel by Patricia Highsmith called ‘The Price of Salt’ and it offers a sublime showcase for its two leading ladies: Cate Blanchett (in the title role), and Rooney Mara (as the smitten ingenue, Therese). We see the microsecond their eyes meet, across the shop floor of a New York department store over the holiday season, where Carol is looking to purchase a train set for her son, and Therese is more than willing to help her out. It’s a moment of pure electricity, but one which director Todd Haynes doesn’t milk for undue emotion.
3. My Beautiful Laundrette (1985)
It’s crazy to think that Stephen Frears’ queer classic My Beautiful Laundrette is 35 years old, as its story of wide-eyed Pakistani odd-jobber, Omar (Gordon Warnecke), and his love affair with a cockney punk named Johnny (Daniel Day-Lewis) has lost none of its provocative edge. Omar is tending a run-down laundrette run by a father’s wheeler-dealing friends, when one day Johnny comes by, and the pair have an instant connection. So much so, we soon discover that their relationship began during their school days – before it was interrupted.
4. But I’m a Cheerleader (1999)
This eye-scorching and outrageous camp classic is set in a gay rehabilitation camp run by Ru Paul among others, and whose students are all suspected by overly conservative parents to be sexual deviants. The entire film is about cheer girl Megan (Natasha Lyonne) and her long, slow but ultimately transcendent realisation about who she really is, coaxed from her with the help of fellow inductee, Graham (Clea DuVall).
5. Beginners (2010)
Sometimes, coming out of the closest is not something you attend to in your formative years. What about if you’re trapped in there until your senior years? Beginners, by writer/director Mike Mills, deals with one such situation, as Ewen McGregor’s Oliver casts his mind back over the five years prior to his father, Hal’s, death, and his late-game but full-force embrace of his true sexuality. The film is a bittersweet comedy that celebrates the notion of living life in your true skin, even if just for a relatively short while.
6. Rafiki (Wanuri Kahiu)
The first LGBT+-themed film to come out of Kenya (in 2018) tells of two teenage girls from different sides of the tracks: first there’s lanky tomboy Kena, who has a bright future as a nurse tee’d up; and there’s Ziki, a glamorous and sexually forward latchkey girl who just wanders around town just enjoying herself. They keep running into one another, soon they start talking, one thing leads to another, and then… boom. The film, by director Wanuri Kahiu, remains banned in its home state.
Moffie is available to stream now via Curzon Home Cinema.

Edward Honaker
Edward Honaker is a 23 year old photographer from California. He specialises in fashion photography, weddings, and self portraiture. The set I am looking at came from a series which explores his own thoughts and experiences regarding anxiety and depression. This series has been featured in major online magazines and newspapers, such as Huffington Post, and Daily Mail Online.
The location in each individual image is different, varying from the outside of a building, a swimming pool or lake area, to inside a bedroom. The harsh tradition between each image represents to the viewer the rapid and not completely rational thought process and feelings of a sufferer of anxiety and/or depression. What seems to be scary and punishing is in reality completely normal. These images show a story being told.
These photographs, even though featured in magazines, in my opinion are neither editorial or commercial, but for the artists own fine art purposes. Honaker created this series to document his mental heath and how it has effected him, for both his own benefit as a form art therapy, and for the audience, whether they suffer with mental illness or not. “I’m hoping that these images will help open up conversation about mental health issues.”
In the first two images, the subject is falling through first air then water, and is just laying down in the last one, showing the whole transition from start to finish. The story Honaker is telling with these images is about how, when suffering with mental illness, easy it is to misread and overthink situations and dreams, to the point of complete over exaggeration. The thought of falling from the top of a building to being plunged in cold water when in fact you are just in bed is terrifying - Honaker is trying to represent his own experiences with mental illness to raise awareness.
These images are purposely trying to make the viewer feel distressed, with life threatening scenarios being presented. They also make them feel slightly curious, as these images are almost completely subjective and up for interpretation, the confusing nature of the images has the possibility to intrigue the viewer into the series and the topic.
A few things each image share with each other are the use of black and white; the monochromatic tone sucks any positive emotion from each image, making them very dark and melancholy, and the positioning of the subject in each image. The fact that Honaker is in the same place in each photograph makes it look more like he is actually falling through these places into the next rather than being 3 individual shots. In the first image blurry movement is present, which tells the viewer that the subject is falling very fast, adding to the uneasy feeling some might feel about the idea of someone falling off of a building.
In my opinion I think that these images are very well put together, linking in a clea and significant way to the theme and to each other. They relate to my work visually with the shared idea of falling, but also in the dark and unsaturated, melancholic feel that the viewer gets when looking at them. The almost surreal atmosphere created by them is something i have been working on in my own photography, and aspire to expand further throughout the project.
