it’s actually devastating to me that hangman was so obsessed with swerve, that someone was finally taking swerve seriously—pushing him, thinking about his every movement, really and truly seeing him—and then in the end hangman didn’t know him at all?

like swerve finally had someone who put him first and then hangman ended up building him up into a cosmic evil in his own mind. like, he wasn’t fighting swerve in that cage it was a version of him built through instrumentalization and objectification
