Carmen had decided to go out to the club with a few of her friends. Which meant she would be able to dance. Carmen was not a night owl by any means. Running a bakery typically meant early hours and long hours. But she had decided to take a few days off to have a much earned break.

She stepped into the club. The lights were blinding and the swaying of bodies was rather intoxicating. Carmen watched as her friends raced to the dance floor. Deciding that before she was going to the floor she needed a drink.

As she headed to the bar she spotted a familiar brunette. She had come into the bakery several times, frankly she was impossible to miss. Soft, sweet features, and these large blue eyes. She was an absolute knock out that was for sure. Shy, Carmen wondered if she would be so shy outside of the bakery.

"Hola hermosa," she grinned as she slipped beside her. "Nice to see you out side of the café. How is your night going?"

"shane," jules huffed from the outside of the others apartment door. "you can't just ignore me every time we argue." she looked around, seeing the hallway was clear and sat down. jules had the ability to be just as stubborn, if not even more. that was probably the worst part about their relationship, yet she wouldn't ever do anything about it. all because she loved shane far too much to just give up. "i'm not moving from out here until you let me in. you know that."

“i could never hate you, jenna.” easton stated, without a trace of sarcasm in his voice. he didn’t like to get serious, but it was important that she knew he wouldn’t be doing this with anyone else. ever. there was no one else he’d go through this charade with, just to keep their friends happy. he knew that fooling them would keep jenna happy — which would make easton ecstatic. “we might need to be a little more… physical.” he stopped walking, meeting her gaze. “we’re usually pretty touchy — don’t want them to think something is off.”

no matter what she says, celine can’t help but feel like she’s just being polite. there's nothing okay about her being unceremoniously dumped and expected to move out the next day. there’s nothing okay about abril now having to take her in like some kind of stray cat. “i know you keep acting like it’s not a big deal, but there aren’t many people out there who would do this. if there’s anything i can do to repay you, all you have to do is ask… except maybe making dinner. i don’t want to poison you.”

"and it's not like you aren't justified in wanting to spend time with your best friend instead of your boyfriend!" particularly when it was juno's best friend who took care of her in the ways her boyfriend never could. thin legs swung over the edge of the mattress, another dramatic sigh falling from their lips. "i can't tomorrow! don't you think it's fishy that he knew well in advance about our plans, but suddenly he has this emergency come up?" while she didn't believe for a second that juno's boyfriend knew what they were really up to, there was no doubt he was jealous of how close the two were. "you'd rather spend the night with him??"

"i mean, it's not like he wouldn't be justified for suspecting!" and it's not jessie's fault, not really. every time juno found herself in their bed again she swore it was the last time, that she wasn't that girl and she really did love her boyfriend -- only to end up right there again. and again. "we still can, the week's not over yet." juno frowned, fingers trailing against the sheet as she tried to will herself to move. "you free tomorrow? we can take a raincheck."

when cat had first shown up at ivy's door the previous night, she'd all but thought she was dreaming. it wouldn't have been much of a surprise if the universe was just being cruel to her that way, but ivy opened her eyes that morning and found cat still sleeping soundly next to her. she knew there was still a lot of things they needed to talk about, like what this meant for their relationship but couldn't bring herself to care about it right now. rolling over, ivy leaned down and pressed her lips to the side of catriona's forehead. "good morning, girl of my dreams." she whispered softly.

alex was the first person charlotte could think to call in her panicked state without even being sure they would answer. they weren't obligated to, everything was purely business, even if at times things were a little too easy for them. "i need you." was all that was said while she gathered herself, her car wrecked as the police arrested the crazed stalker she'd been trying to escape. she'd never felt so scared, so vulnerable and she needed the one person that made her feel safer than any other. "there was an accident and that - that man i told you about, the one that kept sending those love letters."

So I think I'm well within my rights to snap right back. I just find men so tedious, I truly pity some straight women."

"some people just really can't take no for an answer, huh?" she'd waited until the man had wandered away, likely finding his next woman to try his hand at the worst flirting she'd seen in her life. for a second she'd considered intervening, but it was more entertaining to watch from where she'd been standing. "are you allowed to vaguely threaten people?"
