I don’t know if this is a hot take or a barely lukewarm take but I’ll say it: the trend of hating on cringe culture is ruining fandoms.
A but part of fandom culture is not giving a shit what other people think. Go wild with ships, write odd fanfiction, roleplay with other fans, make elaborate cosplays. The “cringe” part of fandoms is what makes it so fun. It’s a break from the suffocating rules that you have to conform to. But now people are being so self-conscious online that they’re too scared to even ship non-canon ships, and I absolutely blame the push against cringe culture for this. I’ve seen people attack someone on tiktok who shipped tododeku. Not even something toxic or illegal, fucking **tododeku**. This new fandom culture is taking what made the original fandom culture so enticing, and defenestrating it with the force of a thousand elephants stomping on the ground. It’s actually so sad to see fandoms slowly lose the creativity and imagination that it once has.
To new fandom members: do whatever the hell you want. You ship two characters who have never met in canon? Great! You want to write fanfiction about them? Awesome! Fandoms are supposed to be cringe, so don’t think too much about what others might think.

Roger Stone Back in the News
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Dec. 5, 2020.--Turned loose again because of 74-year-old President Donald Trump’s July 11 commutation of perjury charges by Special Counsel Robert Muller, 68-year-old Washington self-professed “dirty trickster” Roger Stone claims that North Korea delivered thousands of illicit ballots for 78-year-old President-elect Joe Biden. Showing the post-election shenanigans have gone wild, Stone’s making headlines again claiming North Korea stole the election for Biden. “I just learned of absolute incontrovertible evidence of North Korean boats delivering ballots through the Harbor in Maine, the state of Maine,” Stone insisted. One small problem for Stone, North Korea’s 36-year-old eccentric dictator Kim Jon-un wants Trump to win the election, doesn’t want to return to the same hostility toward the Hermit Kingdom during the Obama years, something Biden expects to duplicate.
Everything said about Biden’s foreign policy team led by 56-year-old Secretary of State Tony Blinker is a carbon copy of Obama’s foreign policy under former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. U.S. citizens better hope that Blinken has learned from his mistakes while working the Obama State Department, where toppling dictators and proxy wars ruled the day. “If this checks out if law enforcement looked into that and it turned out to be true it would be proof of foreign in the election,” Stone said, not realizing there was plenty of proof of foreign interference with Biden’s 50-year-old son Hunter and 75-year-old brother Jim making sweetheart deals with China and Ukraine. If that’s not foreign interference in the U.S. presidential election then what is? Stone knows that the idea that Kim Jong-un ordered shiploads of ballots delivered to the Port of Maine makes zero sense.
Maine’s Secretary of State spokeswoman Kristen Schulze Muszyski rejected Stone’s disinformation. “Discussing a rumor such as this only legitimizes it,” said Muszyski, not realizing that it’s coming from Roger Stone, almost certain to discount anything factual. “We have no evidence of any interference in our election, and we have completed our certification of the official results,” said Muszyski, dumbfounded by Stone’s remarks getting any kind of publicity. But Muszyski surely knows that any wacko idea gets press coverage by respected media outlets. When the Associated Press [AP] quotes Mary Trump for anything credible about her uncle Donald, you know the mainstream press has been turned on its head. When do disgruntled, zero credibility, relatives of the president get any access to legitimate news organizations? Only in the age of Fake News can this happen.
Whether admitted to or not, the country’s entered the Twilight Zone when it comes to fake news, with the press scrambling to keep the public tuned in. Twenty-four-hour cable news needs lots of content supplied by the likes of Mary Trump or Roger Stone. When you consider that Trump’s 55-year-old Director of National Intelligence [DNI] makes headlines saying that China is “bioengineering” its the Peoples Liberation Army [PLA] using advanced genetic or brainwashing techniques, you know the media’s desperate for content. Nothing today coming out of the White House has any credibility except filing up time for the fake news. Talking about Trump’s expected run in 2024 is another example of the nonsense that passes off as news, when it’s nothing more than filler for a 24/7 cable news industry that’s run out of content. Putting Roger Stone back in he headlines shows the desperation.
When you consider that Trump’s 76-year-old wacky attorney former Mayor Rudy Giuliani leading Trump’s legal team trying to prove widespread voter fraud, it’s no wonder the fat lady has sung on this election long ago. Trump charade over voter fraud was always designed to help the fake news industry get through the post-election blues. “We take voter fraud and interference allegations seriously and look into any substantial claims. At this point, the vague rumor has absolutely no validity,” said Muszyski, rejecting Stone’s claim of North Korean ballots washing up in the Port of Maine. In sports it’s called “garbage time,” the game’s already lost and players just let the vanquished rack up points knowing the outcome is guaranteed. Trump knows that it’s over but persists with the nonsense to satisfy the insatiable media for content.
Trump knows the Electoral College Vote is only nine days away. Federal Communication Commission [FCC] should offer public service announcements to show the public how to recognize fake news. Listening to DNI Ratcliffe talk about biologically engineered Chinese troops takes the cake of for the epitome of fake news. With all the craziness going on now, you’d think the GOP would take seriously the battle for the Senate now happening in Georgia, where two run-off elections will decide control of the U.S. Senate. With all the nonsense coming from Roger Stone, Rudy Giuliani and other Trump surrogates, it’s pushing Georgia Democrats to deliver the U.S. Senate to Biden. U.S. media has been fixated on whether Trump will preemptively pardon himself and his family, when he no longer enjoys presidential immunity after Jan. 20, 2021. If the GOP still has a shot in Georgia, they should keep Roger Stone out of the headlines.
