It’s a taste you will never forget. I love any #braised or #roasted #meat that has #tenderised through the process of #cookinglow and #cookinglong. This pork dish was in my opinion so #moreish, it was in a #tenderness league of its own. The cooking process is an all day #infusion event producing a taste mixture of both #sweetandsalt with neither taste overwhelming.

“What are you reading?” A voice snapped her back to reality and Hermione looked up. Draco Malfoy was now leaning over her table. Swaying slightly. She noticed a lock of his blonde slicked back hair had curled forward to fall over his eyes. A couple of hours passed since his entrance, so he must have been on his third or fourth drink. “A book.” Hermione snapped back. “I can see that,” Malfoy muttered, sliding into the booth opposite her. She fixed him with a glare and put her book down, carefully placing the bookmark in so she wouldn’t lose its place. “What kind of book?” He leaned in, peering at the title. “A Thousand Ships. Is it a nautical book?” “It’s about the Battle of Troy.” “The what?” “You won’t know it. It’s muggle fiction and muggle history.” She put the book back in her bag and crossed her arms. Another lock of hair broke free from Malfoy’s hair charm prison and sprung forward. It reminded her much of her own, never doing what it was told. Tonight she’d twisted it back and clipped it in a claw shaped hair grip, anything to keep it off her face. No magic. Malfoy smirked, “Don’t presume to know what I know. I might know about muggle history and fiction.” He was his usual pompous and arrogant self, at least. “Do you?” Hermione asked, genuinely curious. He paused. “No.”

Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger both take solace in the same muggle pub on the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. Somehow, an uneasy alliance is formed. One that involves espresso martinis, teal scarves, and reading lists. Soon Draco comes to live for the one night a year he gets to spend time with Hermione Granger.
