It was a late night, and as it was Souji's last night it seemed everyone there there wanted to get as much time with the retired dancer as they could. He didn't think it would make that much of a difference, and even when they clamored for him, he figured it was just because of his retirement, but quite a few people had been there to see him for years… it was… touching.

He didn't even remember finding a bed and falling asleep.

When the next morning came, everything he owned, which wasn't much, was in a bag, and he looked at his roommates, other dancers who shared his little section of town with him, with a smile. "Don't go too crazy with the extra space now…"

"Oh don't worry, Souji, we'll save the war for territory for after you leave," one girl grinned, and Souji couldn't help but laugh. "You take care of yourself okay?"

"Yeah," a guy grinned. "Don't let that plate living get to your head, either, hotshot."

Souji smiled, hugging them both. "Thanks… You guys take care…"

"You want us to walk you to the train??"

"Oh you don't have to do that, isn't time for rehearsals soon?? Don't be late on my account… I'll just… head out…" He shouldered his bag, and stepped out into the Wall Market, making the long and solitary journey to the train… and then to the SHINRA headquarters. Time for his first day on the job…

It was daunting.... but when he got there, he couldn't help the smile on his face.

"Ah!! I didn't think I'd see you two again so soon!!!"

Okay but listen what if... when a honey boy or honey girl retires, on their last show, or their last number, they don't have their bee butt anymore.

Because listen LISTEN!!! Bees die shortly after losing their stinger. So when you see a honey boy or honey girl without their stinger you know you won't ever see them at the inn working again...

Sometimes I forget the core of Souji has no self-preservation. He's a person who will risk all of himself to keep others safe. He is like that in canon. He's like that in every au I have for him.... but it never comes out as profoundly as it does in his dangerous aus. He's a boy too stubborn to die, who probably should have plenty of times and hasn't, and he's gonna ride that wave until it's his time. In the meantime, he will not go thinking I should've helped that person or did that thing. He leaves everything on the table.

The world can be a damnable place.... full of monsters and evil. Full of people who merely dim its light, but as long as there are people who are good and innocent, people he cares for, people he loves, he will do everything he can for them. His life is made for that one simple thing. To protect those he loves.

Sweet Stinger - Uniform

So every Turk gets a standard uniform, yes? And there is a bit of leeway in how you wear it, accessories, ties, some people (*coughRenocough*) augment the fastening and then don't bother hiding his tits, Rude has his signature chain and glasses...

Souji's suit takes after Jinga Mikage in Garo, with a corset fastening the suit together. He adds a chain with a loop for his katana on his hip. And for his shoes, he omits the standard footwear for his own heeled boots.

Sweet Stinger;; (FF7 Verse)

Souji was a honey boy in Wall Market's Honey Bee Inn when he was somehow involved with an investigation into shadowy dealings being done in the seedy underbelly, outside of Don Corneo, and enough of a problem to attract the attention of Shinra's Public Security Division... specifically the Turks. Being the favorite of an outside mafia boss, he was approached by Rude and Reno for cooperation in the investigation, using him to gather information and in return, they would provide him with protection.

It was… tough, and not clean, but he got what they needed, and the thrill of it, the fight that broke out and the part he played left a lasting impression on him…. so much so that he applied for the bureau not too long after, and with his history and his proficiency with a katana, was allowed acceptance into the Bureau.

A rookie now, and reunited with the two Turks who protected him during his first mission, he's finding his own way in this new world, and getting used to living on the plate instead of below it.
