Allllrighty ighty, here's the bare bones of my Phighting Roleswap AU

(it is statistically likely that there are/will be other swap aus on this blog, so feel free to call it Kai's Swap AU for organizational purposes! Characters within the AU will have their character refs linked, if they have one.)

Subspace is swapped with Medkit; Rocket is swapped with Skateboard; Boombox is swapped with Hyperlaser; Slingshot is swapped with Scythe; Sword is swapped with Banhammer; Valk & Dom are swapped with Broker; Katana is swapped with Vinestaff; Shuriken is swapped with Coil; and Biograft is a bit of a special case I'm figuring out. He still has lore, though! (Just gotta wait for the number of Phighters to be even again...)

Zuka is also swapped with the Church of the True Eye's leader...wonder how that'll end up?

The factions, settings, and premise of the action (sorta) stay the same. Swapbroker and Swapscythe preside over the Phighting! tournaments under the watchful "eye" of their manager, Mx. I. There's a big tournament ongoing with all the Crossroads Phighters participating, and that's the setting for most of the AU's events.

On occasion, the fearsome escapees Valkyrie and Dominus interfere with the show, hijacking Premium Prating (Swapbroker's talk show) and interrupting Phighting matches to attack participants. These events are known as "Phestivals" - a term Valkyrie himself introduced - and end only when the siblings, somehow superpowered by godly powers, get thrown back into Banland. Oh, my!

At the same time as the tournament, multiple other happenings are...happening. Swapkit is working on his highly dangerous "magnum opus", Ultimate Healing, which acts as basically a very dangerous cancer once injected. Swapspace's poison is the only thing that is powerful enough to neutralize the spread of it, so he's hard at work too trying his hardest to keep the other Phighters in tip-top shape (when he's not mourning the loss of his career, of course).

Swapsword, son of Venomshank, is also entering the Overworld from the Undead Realm for the first time after a strange family accident years ago. Distantly related is Swapban's reemergence into the spotlight since his impromptu disappearance; even more distantly related is the freezing over of Banland and the fierce windstorms taking place over Blackrock.

Also somewhat related is a mysterious Swapsling's introduction to the Phighting! cast...he claims he's a mercenary, but who knows for sure? The brand on his hand says otherwise. Swapvine objects as well.

I'm planning to write some stories and comic some comics in order to convey the AU's storyline! Thanks for listening to me ramble, I'll keep y'all updated :)

YAY a swap au for meee- As always I think medkit & subspace are interesting.Mostly because;why would subspace of all people help his teammates? Is he trying to secretly sabotage them, or is he just forced by swapscythe , swapbroker and maybe the church. Speaking of does the true eye cult get anything from phights? mx.1 kind of seems like someone making sure they don't step out of line of whatever the cults going on. What was the accident? I would answer this but it looks complicated and i frankly don't know.

Swapsling, an enigmatic member of the Phighting! cast - but certainly not an invisible one. His tactics usually consist of throwing wildly sly taunts at his opponents and turning tail, following up his insults with a fatal bombardment of launched explosives. Energetic and elusive, he uses his running stilts to hover midair and dodge enemies in a skillful whirlwind of technique. Once a phighter is in his crosshair, it's unlikely that they'll ever be lucky enough to leave it unscathed.

Nobody quite knows the full extent of his backstory. He was nominated into the show by a mysterious third party. Claiming to be a rookie bounty hunter, Slingshot uses Phighting! as (in his own words) "a learning experience". It's not doubted that he is a newbie to his job - he's too young to have been doing such a punishing career path for so long, and his unprofessionalism is rampant - but the bounty hunter gig is something to be viewed under scrutiny. Everyone else brushes by it, though; he's just a troublemaker, right? Observing his banter with Swapbox or Swapskate sells that guise beautifully...

quick little swap au silly! i'm gonna be a bit more inactive in the following weeks, since school started up again (BOO)...

anyways swapkit and swapling are sort of in a Standoff over the matter of swapspace. swapkit wants to ruin his life in the most elaborate way possible, swapsling wants swapspace to join his weird sleazy organization. they both get what they want eventually, but for now they're both stuck in a very petty war of "this guy pranked my target, so i'm going to pay him back with as much violence as possible."
