Regressor Harvey?🎃 SV

Oo, this was something of a toughie! Mostly because I think he would be a bit shy about dressing up for Halloween (or should I say Spirit's Eve?) while he's regressed. 🌙

Typically, his go-to costume for seasonal parties and such as an adult is some variation of some sort of doctor. Zombie doctor, mad scientist, etc. It allows him to keep a sense of familiarity and security to be able to cling to things from his daily life, like his lab coat. Although, if he's encouraged to spend the holiday while he's small...there's a desire to branch out. Just looking at costumes fills him with a nervous sort of excitement. He could be a puppy! Or no, wait, what about an old timey pilot? Maybe a monster, like a werewolf? Ultimately however, he goes with perhaps the most classic costume: a little sheet ghostie! A literal security blanket that allows him to participate without him feeling as exposed and therefore lets him regress with less anxiety. (And, perhaps, pulls out a little baby mischief—although nobody is actually scared by the quiet little "boo"s he does, but they pretend to be much to his delight.)

Hot Tips For Tera Raid Battles In Pokemon SV

the tera raid battles can be like. really REALLY difficult if you're not prepared. time to infodump what I've learned for the public who might need it. i hope it's coherent enough :]

you will generally need to build a competitively viable pokemon for any raid 5* or higher. if you're worried about stat spreads and not knowing where to put your evs generally max hp and max whatever your strongest attacking stat is will work. speed kinda doesn't matter, don't worry about it. 5* raid pokemon are level 75, so make sure you're not underleveled!!

keep in mind the original typing of the pokemon you're going up against as well as its tera type, there's no guarantee it'll have attacking moves for its tera type.. but it will definitely have attacking moves for its original type(s)

almost every 5* or higher raid pokemon WILL have a status move. any pokemon with taunt is extremely valuable support (grimmsnarl <3)

gholdengo and your box legendary are AMAZING pokemon to start with as far as building raid pokemon goes. your box legendary will always do dependable damage and gholdengos immunity to status moves make it nice consistant dps, even if its attacking moves aren't super effective. another pokemon I'll always recommend for any raid that isn't related to steel, poison or fairy, as previously mentioned, is grimmsnarl. screen and taunt support is always nice. it also gets spirit break, which will drop special attack whether the opponent is shielding or not. great pokemon for the longevity of your team!!

A lot of people like to set up or use stat dropping moves on the opposing pokemon the first few turns, if you realize your teammates are doing this and you can't do the same, try not to attack for supereffective as once the pokemon passes a threshold of health itll shield up and likely erase any stat drops/boosts afterwards, making the entire thing just a huge waste of valuable time.

REMEMBER TO CHEER!! do NOT be scared to use it!! heal up is always valuable and go all out is great for if your team is setting up or terastalizing as well! if you have a spare cheer, use it!

Ever since I installed the Seasonal Villager Outfits mod (which is a great mod by the way), I’ve been feeling bad dressed in all the festivals, which, before, only happened in the Flower Dance... But not this time. This time I was well prepared!

🥔(Potato) - Favourite non-romanceable character

Is it any surprise that I pick Harris? 😅 He was just another NPC to me originally, but over time I've really grown to love this big Teddy bear.

If Harris was a bachelor, though, then I'd choose Barley/Mugi. He's such a sweet, kind old man. I want to adopt him as my grandpa, please.

Nearly everyone in Mineral Town feels like family to me, at this point 😅 I love (almost) all of them.

SV:

Kinda hard to choose just one, tbh. I like a lot of the side characters. Linus is a sweetheart, and Clint reminds me somewhat of Harris.

But I think I like George the best. Grumpy old man who warms up to you gradually as you show him kindness? Check. Tragic backstory? Check. Genuine heart of gold beneath his gruff exterior? Check.

🍋(Lemon) - Least favourite character

FoMT:

I'm sorry, I just don't like Won/Huang. His first event - where you meet him at Zack's, and he ogles Karen and gives her preferencal treatment because she's pretty - just left a really sour taste in my mouth. And it doesn't help that he's quite arrogant and so obsessed with money.

SV:

Does Morris the Jojamart manager count? 😅 No? OK, then.

Probably Mayor Lewis. He refuses to settle down with Marnie, even though she clearly wants to, because he's "worried about his reputation"?! Big red flags there, Marnie! And besides, what kind of mayor uses town funds to commission a golden statue of himself instead of putting that money back into the town through, say, repairing the bus service to the city?!

🍅 (Tomato) - Favourite and least favourite festival?

FoMT:

Since I've already talked about the Animal Festivals and the Horse Races, I'll mention another event I really love: the Harvest Festival.

The whole town getting together to cook a giant potluck, with everyone bringing something along, has such a warm, homey vibe for me. I really get a sense of community from this festival. I love it, and all its variations across the games.

Least favourite is probably White Day/Valentine's Day. It's a non-event if you're not high enough with anyone. And if you're high enough with enough candidates, you have to hang around on your farm most of the day waiting for them to arrive. I want to get on around town and the mountain on my daily routine, not sit around at home waiting all day.

SV:

I think the festivals are sadly lacking in this game, especially after all the interesting events that HM/SoS has to offer.

My favourite of the few available is the Stardew Valley Fair, because you can interact with a lot of the stalls, and because its the only festival where your farming actually comes into play.

My least favourite is probably Spirit's Eve: after you've done it the first year, there's really nothing to do in subsequent years.

🍐(Pear) - Favourite rival pairing (Canon or non-canon)?

FoMT:

Karen x Rick is a brilliant pairing. So is Gray x Mary. Both of them feel like they complement each other really well.

Non-canon: I'm really growing to like the idea of Ann x Kai. I feel like they'd have some really good chemistry.

SV: No rival pairs in this game, alas, so we'll have to go with non-canon.

I think Harvey x Penny would be a sweet couple. Probably extremely traditional and low-key, but I think they'd work well together.

OH HO HO. This made me rub my little goblin hands together with glee.

I sort of have a masterlist-ish. I tried to make a like “top 10 essential Xena episodes” list but I kept being like “but this one is only as good as it is if you have the CONTEXT of these six other episodes, like Ides of March is SO GOOD but you need the BUILD UP and also I can’t drop this one for lore reasons” so my top 10 list is got stalled at 65 episodes long lmao oops.

A couple of these are on the list when more entertaining episodes/straight up better are left off because of Plot and Lore purposes. I’ve gone through and starred some favs, though. One downside is that you’re going to be missing most of the pure comedy episodes so you won’t understand the true tonal whiplash this show embodies, but so it goes.

If you MUST watch only a handful of episodes, I’d say top 3 episode to watch if you want to get the concept, get the appeal, and see some fan fav episodes would be Sins of the Past, A Day in the Life, and One Against An Army.

Seeing him leaning against the bamboo and staring blankly, Shen Qingqiu remembered his dazed appearance on the head seat during the day, all alone. Then upon comparing this version of him with the impressive commanding splendor of the original work, Shen Qingqiu couldn’t help but feel a little sad.

Shen Qingqiu’s heart was currently filled with sympathy for Luo Binghe, so he pleasantly and amiably replied: “Okay. What do you want to talk about?”

He didn’t expect that after he spoke up, Luo Binghe instead froze. He instantly stood up straight and left the bamboo, a trace of disbelief showing on his face.

Oops. Shen Qingqiu thought: Does he think this reaction isn’t right?

After remaining silent for a while, Luo Binghe spoke up: “In the past, Shizun never even bothered to look at me, just walked off on his own, don’t even mention talking with me. Perhaps my imagination today is a little too beautiful.”

Immediately afterward, his right wrist was also firmly grasped. Suddenly looking up, Shen Qingqiu felt his vision blur.

As if gently touched by feathers, his cheeks were swept. A strange sensation came from his lips, both soft and slightly cool.

His eyes opened wide, meeting Luo Binghe’s dark pupils. His throat bobbed with difficulty.

He wanted to speak but had no way to open his mouth. Because his mouth was bitten.

OMG sorry I didn’t see this until now, for some reason I don’t get notifications and I don’t log into this account as much anymore. x_x

It’s hard to pick a favorite villager. I really like Demetrius because of the periodic table in his lab (haha I know, silly reason :P), and I like Marnie because of how much she genuinely loves her animals. Marnie annoys me a bit because of the early days when I needed to buy farm animals BUT EVEN THOUGH HER SHOP WAS OPEN SHE DIDN’T SELL THEM ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS. >:| 

Favorite romantic option is Elliott. :D I was thinking about divorcing him, erasing his memory and then romancing him again, but in the end I liked him too much to do that. xD Maru is a close second, I just love how she’s so brilliant! She makes an AI, ffs! :O Maru is freaking amazing!

Favorite activity is definitely dungeon-delving in the Skull Caverns. It’s kinda funny, but I started out hating the Mines. I was trying to slug it through with just my basic equipment and I was convinced that I sucked at the game because of how badly I was doing, then I decided to buy some better stuff and it was really amazing what a difference that made. Nowadays, I’m addicted to bomb-mining, I rarely even use my pickaxe. xD There’s something satisfying about blowing up a whole map. I also used to hate fishing, but I really like it now too. I tend to like fishing in any kind of game that I play though, so I guess that’s not terribly surprising!

Favorite season is winter, because I don’t feel as guilty going to the Skull Caverns then. xD Spring is a close second, because I like all the initial set-up that goes in for the year. 

Favorite festival is the Dance of the Moonlight Jellies, despite the relatively low amount of stuff that you get to do during it. What sold it for me though was that I was kinda sad when I was playing during when it came around in Year 2. Rando was already married to Elliott, but it was the first year that they were together, so I was really surprised to see that Elliott had moved to stand beside Rando when the jellyfish came in. That was just incredibly sweet and romantic, uplifting when I needed it but didn’t expect it. As far as interactive festivals go, I like Spirit’s Eve the most, but it does get kinda boring when all you do is go there, get the golden pumpkin, and then that’s it. 

Pierre’s definitely a bit of a dick! xD I mean I guess he’s slightly better than Morris and the Joja corporation, but not that much better. Clint is... eh, I’m kinda neutral about him. I feel bad for him that he can’t get Emily, but on the other hand, I just can’t relate to him very much. And Robin is definitely one of the MVPs of the game. I feel so bad for her when she’s working in the rain or snow, through her birthday no less. xD At least when she does that it makes it easier to find her and give her stuff. >_>

I’m on Year 5 now, still the same save file and I’m still really enjoying the game. My current goal is to plot out my farm next spring and fill it with Ancient Berries, then fill the quarry with gem makers, and finally the desert with kegs. xD

this has been rolling in my head for awhile, so heres some personal canon/headcanon for my sv farmer and event timeline by how i played the game :>

about farmer kat:

- moved from a big city to stardew valley after finding grandpas letter (obvs)

- has cat named miso, and a horse named bullseye

- loves to cook, loves to tend to her flower garden, paint, and hates fishing

-enjoys going down in the mines to look for gems

-loves: blackberry cobbler, bruschetta, chocolate cake, poppyseed muffin, void essence, melons, summer spangle, opal, wine

-likes: miners treat, icecream, maki roll, blue jazz, wild honey, lobster bisque, fairy rose, coffee

-dislikes: clay, joja cola, wild horseradish, pine tar

-hates: fried eel, spring onion, sea cucumber, green algae

year 1

-farmer kat moved from a busy city to stardew valley with no knowledge of farming to boot, but quickly made fast friends with robin. 

-new town meant new people and the anxiety that came with it, farmer was quite the ugly duckling when it came to making friends until robin introduced her son, sebastian. they hit it off when they ran into each other roaming the mines, and eventually sam and abigail too at pool nights at the tavern.

- the farm slowly gathered a collection of animals from chickens to pigs, as well as a few fruit trees. jams and preserved jellies are life savers in the winter.

-an old tree fell on the cabin after a lightning storm in the spring, causing the farmer to finally upgrade the house.

-sebastian and the farmer often go for late night walks, sometimes up the mountain or down in the mines, fighting bugs and slimes. sometimes he accompanies her while the farmer fails at fishing.

-sebastian and kat start dating that winter after the 10 heart event. kat and shane have a heart-to-heart after getting shit-faced on new years eve and become friends.

year 2

-the beginnings of a winery is being set up at the farm, shane is more than happy to taste test. since the sprinkler system has been set up, that leaves more time in the day. the farmer often tries out new recipes and likes to give away some of the leftovers to the townsfolk, always making sure to save linus some of the fresher stuff.

-the farmer is starting to get a handle on farming at this point, canning or preserving produce, crops coming in at a higher quality,  and the animals bringing more eggs and dairy, all put to good use with baking.

- emily and kat often chit-chat whenever the farmer visits the tavern, and emily talks about there not being enough cloth around. they work out an agreement where kat supplies the fabric, in exchange for a few sewing lessons.

-during the fall sebastian and kat have a bit of falling out. sebastian has trouble opening up completely and the farmer struggles with depression. kat runs into leah after a bit, and leah offers to help by painting together. they both become buddies later on and continue to have drawing sessions together.

-kat receives the pumpkin soup recipe from robin, and attempts to make it as a peace-maker for sebastian. they talk through the whole night about what went down, as well as their insecurities, making up with each other. they go to the spirit’s eve celebration together.

year 3

-the house was upgraded and a cellar in addition for the winery. farmer kat has become famous for her ancient wine, as well as her baked goods.

-that spring kat and sebastian get married, and robin is ecstatic. emily and kat made the wedding dress together, haley took the wedding pictures. abigail, leah, and emily as bridesmaids, and sam is the best man. 

- kat and sebastian have their first child in the winter. they named him milo.

- sebastian gets his motorcycle fitted with a side car so the can all go for a ride, just like he promised. 

-thanks to learning how to sew from emily, kat makes all the kid clothes herself.

year 4

-they have their second child in the spring, and she was named mira. the farm is built up and there open spaces for both kids to run and play. when theyre older they often go swimming off the dock in the river south of the farm.

-farmer kat finally finishes up the community center, and joja is pushed out of town for good.

-kat, with the permission of  mayor lewis, opens up a bakery in the town square right next to the clinic. the farmer buys all the ingredients she cant grow herself from pierre, and they eventually have a good business relationship. she also hires shane and linus.

post ‘completing’ game:

-mira gets an apprenticeship at the blacksmith, and loves to go mine spelunking. milo helps takes care of the bakery.

-kat has money to throw after all this, and spends it fixing up pelican town, making it quite the special attraction whenever the holidays roll around. 

- kat also takes the entire family on vacations to travel, her and sebastian get to see all kinds of cities together. theyre still beautiful, but nothing beats their home in the valley.

Last night was a fun party in Vrboska, with a spectacular bonfire, klapa singing, food and wine.All day our neighbours were looking for old bits of wood, and we were encouraged to contribute. By the evening, there was quite a pile!

This was the annual Žežin Sv Ivana, the celebration of St John’s Eve, which brought the locals out in force. Clearly this is one of those traditional events with roots going back several centuries. So why the bonfire? And why is this the appropriate way to celebrate St John the Baptist’s birth?

The bonfire is lit!

St John, of course is a later overlay on an older heritage that has more to do with the summer solstice. It’s a midsummer celebration that has echoes all over Europe, particularly in Scandinavia, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Poland, Russia, Germany and France. The bonfire is generally seen as a cleansing of the evil spirits that emerge at the turning of the seasons.

In Croatia, Ivanjski krijesovi (John’s bonfires) tend to be on the banks of rivers or lakes, or on beaches beside the sea. The story goes that they can be seen from further away, but it seems sensible in summer, as it would be safer that way! Less sensible is the tradition for young folks to jump over the flames, so that they would be pure for the next year. Thankfully nobody in Vrboska was trying that!

Midsummer celebrations around Europe take place anytime between 19 and 25 June. Back in Roman times, the solstice was 24 June, which marked the beginning of the festival of Vestalia. The Christians set the date for John the Baptist’s birth as 24 June, being 6 months before Jesus’ birth as implied in St Luke’s gospel. So now we have St John’s Eve as the perfect time to light a bonfire and have a midsummer party!
