wwwo gang to me is basically a depressed oldest sibling, a traumatized middle child, and a sunshine youngest sibling. the younger two keep fighting with each other and the oldest doesn't want to involve himself in that because he's scared he'll mess things up further so he talks to the family dog instead

I am very confused when I see people question why Suvi's still prioritizing defending the Citadel from the threat of war even after the Identify spell.
Suvi's entire family lives there guys. All of them, not just Steel or the Wizard Council she may be suspicious of re: the geas but also Sly, her apprentice Yulia, Steel's husband Sonder and their kids (her siblings), Hana, Hana's dad and evey friend she has ever made outside of Eursolon and Ame.
I don't think the Witches and the armies of Rhuv are going to make much of a distinction between Sonder, Yulia and Steel if their stated goal is to burn the Citadel to the ground.
I understand that in this story, and by Suvi specifically, 'The Citadel' is often said as a reference to the wizard military industrial complex of the Empire but it's also a physical place with non combatants living there, which has currently deployed a lot of it's actual combatants elsewhere.
And I think it's fine if that's not your priority, or if you think the Citadel as a political entity is reaping what it sowed but again - everyone else Suvi loves is physically there and they will absolutely be caught in a war.
And in fairness to people asking this, Suvi is arguing about the culpability of the political!Citadel in the actions Tefmet is accusing them of but those accusations are the reason for the vote!
Unfortunately there is no way to go to war with only the political/military structure of the Citadel and leave the rest of it alone both because those things are currently extremely intertwined, and because the Wizard's knowledge is being treated as part of the threat here!
Edited: To reword some points and also to remove my disclaimer at the start because it's irrelevant to the point.

I've been thinking that there isn't any reason for Steel to be playing such a long game if she really is a bad actor and in on/in support of stuff like the derrick - but getting Suvi into position for the spider business is a possible payoff for all of this. Otherwise why even pretend to be a good guy to fool some 20 year olds you could squash without trying, you know? Making the spider has been in the works for a long time. Sly knew about the conclave - someone else easily could have.
I'll be disappointed if Steel turns out to be In On It, or even Behind It All Along though. Great dramatic fallout for Suvi but in some ways it simplifies the situation. For everything we've seen from Steel up until now to be some kind of act just doesn't feel properly set up and I'm gonna feel : / about it.
There are a lot of places you could go with Steel as a villain - she betrayed Soft/Stone and Yoren was a good guy all along - a dramatic reversal to be sure but for that kind of twist to hold up to scrutiny at this point the plotting would have to be so INCREDIBLY intricate that I'm just not that interested when you could take the story somewhere that feels more honest and straightforward.
What I'm hoping for is that Steel really didn't know, but still sides with her duty when it turns out that she doesn't have the influence to put a stop to it because the citadel is so much bigger than her for all that she's important.
Edit: When I used "villain" here I mean just an outright antagonist in the conflict established in today's episode. As in, she has been lying about how great spirits should be respected, and has been all in on enslaving them all along. She wanted them to wait for her in Port Talon because she wanted to see how Morrow did it so they could do it again. There are plenty of reasons you could give that would make this position understandable and morally gray! Theres a war on! There's a great spirit plotting their downfall right now, after all.
I just most likely won't buy the level of flawless interpersonal deception over such an extended time with her relationship to Suvi as being a reasonable way for her to have pursued her goals unless there is some really intricate shit with a prophecy involved at which point I will roll my eyes.

I'm finally listening to Worlds Beyond Number, and i've only listened to the bit of the prelude that's available on spotify and part of the first chapter, but the thing that's really struck me so far is how sensory it is. Not just the editing, but the description, both from Brennan and from the players. It really hit me during Erika's description of Ame's environment, but everyone throughout has been providing truly amazing descriptions of the sounds, the visuals, even the smells.
it's so different from other podcasts i've listened to, and especially different from Dimension 20's fast-paced scheduled episodes, and honestly i'm so in love with it. I'm already so attached to these characters, i've already cried once (Suvi's conversation with Steel before leaving the citadel), and i hope this amazing style stays in the next episodes.

I don’t do this often, but Ep. 22 of The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One requires me to get out these thoughts the instant I’ve finished the episode. Sneak peek: it’s about Suvi…
SPOILERS BELOW, SO BEWARE THE NOT CAUGHT UP FOLKS
Brennan’s take on prophecy continues to drive me insane. Steel argued last ep that diviners are susceptible to illusions, but I was still so high off of my love of Uncle Sly that I only really listened to her this time around — a good diviner is one who is right 51% of the time. I was taking for granted, given the leeway Sly receives, especially regarding his finances, that wizards put so much stock in his abilities that his words should be taken as gospel. But Steel is an example of exactly what Sly said about why he isn’t respected. You can’t receive acclaim for stopping tragedies that never come to pass. Steel’s doubts about the relability of divination are so in line with her obvious pragmatism. and have also given me a more balanced view on the prophecies we received in “Later Than You Think”… which will also give me a way to sleep at night regarding the fact that Suvi now feels so incredibly far from joining Ame at the Coven of Elders meeting now. I can tell myself that Sly could have been fooled, or wrong about how certain he was that Suvi needed to be there…
Brennan had Sly say things that felt true, but I don’t doubt that there was also some powerful understanding of the world that went into them. I didn’t know exactly what it would mean that Suvi wouldn’t receive permission to leave, but then we saw in this ep and it just made sense. Through an understanding of the changes to the Citadel that were coming, and an understanding of Suvi’s character (esp. her dynamic with Steel), he saw that he had a way of keeping Suvi still. Just have Steel give her a direct order. Suvi saw what happened the last time she was made to disobey Steel by her friends. So she’s not following this time. Not only that, but she tries to bring them back to her. Suvi told Sly that she understood that they wouldn’t let her leave, but being confronted with the actual circumstances in the moment meant Aabria had the opportunity to (in my opinion) lean into the storytelling by (as she put it) making “big swings.”
As he predicted, the way Sly told Suvi the prophecy about her departure and her importance to Ame’s survival didn’t affect her in-the-moment decision. It isn’t a situation where knowing the prophecy helps make it come true. To me it smacks a little of the original etymology of “prophecy” as a diagnostic device. These are true (if somewhat vague) statements about how the world tends to function. Which means that they don’t play a huge factor in the decision-making of Suvi, as the character of the trio who is of the world and molded by systems in a way our Witch and our Wild One are not. [EDIT: And, as Aabria herself pointed out in the comments in this post, the prophecy wasn)t explicitly about the Citadel, which means the ultimate manifestation of that prophecy caught Suvi off guard]
Aabria (@quiddie) made an incredibly hard RP choice by making the decision that was correct for her character, in spite of her awareness that the choice would make her job as a player so much more difficult.
And I love her for it.

Can't fall asleep so here are my WBN (WWWO) sleeping headcanons (mostly for myself):
Ame is truly a sleeping like a boneless cat Sid in ice age constantly rotating and shifting kinda gremlin. I believe it's canon that she likes the several blankets and pillows methodology but I have a feeling she's also likely to wake up above the massive pile understandably overheated. If she ever shares bed with anyone she WILL cuddle. No snoring but occasional loud breathing.
Suvi loves her bed reflecting complete decadent comfort but in reality she sleeps with only one pillow (she uses some sort of cantrip to remove the decorative pillows before sleep). Falls asleep sideways but always wakes up facing up. If she ever snore it was trained out of her. If sharing a bed, she may cuddle while conscious but will not fall asleep that way (unless sleeping with Ame because they shared for so long, and possibly also Eursulon).
Eursulon looks like he has been knocked out when sleeping, he will often sleep facing down and his limbs spread in random directions. If it weren't for his loud yet rhythmic snoring people might think he's actually dead. When sleeping with someone people feel instinctually called to cuddle him (like a big comfy pillow you hug), he may occasionally bug spoon someone and it always feels like he is completely surrounding them. Needless to say: no bed.
Edit to add: Fox (canonically) will very much sleep like a melting cat when very tired, but I like to imagine he curls up into a ball normally, often in between Ame's spread our legs (usually annoying but Ame would hardly notice)
