// sometimes I think about how many times in bg3 you get conflicts that don't have an objectively "best" outcome. I think about freeing the 7000 vampires, for example. Freeing them is the ethical thing to do, because they are all innocent victims, but it remains true that leaving thousands of vampires loose, even in the underdark, is a bad bad idea. Not only are they traumatized people, but they're predators who have only their instincts to help them survive in an unfamiliar land that isn't exactly bountiful in terms of wildlife. If they don't do well, they'll die or be slaughtered, and if they do they'll ruin entire communities or ecosystems, depending on whether they feed on people or animals.
#i was thinking again of that line minthara says about how the patriars should have the refugees work for them and have them defend the city#and tav is like 'um that's slavery you're describing?'#and she's like 'call it what you want but would you rather have them die of starvation stuck outside the city walls?'#and i mean the player doesn't have much to say in that matter but there is still a complex situation being presented with no easy solution#because bg has been the destination for refugees for a long time already#like it was already in a state of crisis after the descent when many people who could not return to their homes#massively started to arrive to the gate#right when their duke was gone and left the city without a ruler and the military without a leader#now the government is even WORSE and so is the refugee situation since they're now coming from everywhere#it is painfully true that the guild is still the only truly functioning organism in the city#and they're also having trouble with the absolute#like bg objectively doesnt have the space or the means to sustain the refugees#the patriars may#but in the end gold cant feed a family either#but eating the rich does sound like the most sensible option still-#ooc#the only objectively good ending i think is if you could leave the githyanki egg with lae'zel#also i think of the quest zevlor gives for killing kagha#which sounds like a sensible option when he says it but it prompts the grove massacre#but you can explain it to halsin and he understands that they forgot their principles and attacked defenseless refugees#and you merely defended yourself and them#then again if you look in the right places you can see dialogues suggesting that the refugees are indeed damaging the grove#like chopping trees without the druid's consent#so.#yeah i just have a deep appreciation for some aspects of the game's writing#that show there often isn't an objectively best choice#and you are just doing your best with the information you have and what your morals dictate

Fernweh, a German word, encapsulates a sensation that resonates with many of us—the irresistible urge to explore far-off places, to wander beyond the familiar and immerse ourselves in the wonders of the unknown. It’s the insatiable longing for distant horizons, a craving that fuels the soul’s desire for discovery.

Global Surfing Tourism: Waves Creating an International Spectator Sport
Tumblr media
The Rise of Global Surfing Tourism Over the past few decades, surfing has evolved from a niche activity enjoyed by a small community into a globally popular spectator sport and massive tourism driver. Surfing destinations that were once known only to local wave riders have emerged onto the international stage, drawing crowds of both participants and observers from around the world. Factors like improved infrastructure, dedicated surf competitions and broadcasts, and the lifestyle appeal of surf culture have all contributed to surfing tourism becoming a multi-billion dollar industry. Development of Global Surfing Tourism Hotspots Coastal communities that found themselves with world-class waves realized the tourism potential of catering to surfers. Places like Bali, Indonesia and Tavarua, Fiji invested in hotels, restaurants and transportation specifically geared towards surf visitors. Event promotions and networking through organizations like the World Surf League helped spread the word about emerging spots. Developed destinations like Hawaii and California doubled down on their surf tourism offerings as well. The result was a booming niche sector within adventure and sport tourism catering to surf-seekers. Global Competitions Drive Interest The growth of professional Global Surfing Tourism competitions on the global stage, most notably those within the WSL, have created surfing spectacles that draw huge crowds both locally and via broadcasts. Events like the Bali Pro at Keramas generate massive economic impacts as visitors flock in for front row seats to watch the world's best wave riders battle it out on tropical peaks and points. Broadcasts of competitions introduce new audiences worldwide to surf destinations and help popularize the sport. This additional exposure as a spectator activity has significantly boosted surf tourism numbers. Cultural Cachet Sparks Wanderlust Beyond the beaches themselves, surfing culture carries an irrestible wanderlust lifestyle appeal. The laidback coastal vibes, healthy outdoor focus, reggae soundtrack and sun-drenched aesthetics have captured global imagination. For many, partaking in surf travel becomes an opportunity to tap into this romanticized beach lifestyle, even just as observers. Surf films, TV shows, and documentaries portraying surf destinations keep the wanderlust strong and introduce new generations to coastal communities and waves around the world worth visiting.

Embrace the Future Top Web Design Trends for Your Online Business
The digital landscape is constantly changing, and with it, the look and feel of our online experiences. As the digital face of your business, your website needs to stay at the forefront of design trends to ensure a seamless user experience. This essay will delve into the top web design trends that are shaping the future of online businesses.
Minimalist Design In the world of web design, less is increasingly becoming more. Minimalist design is all about simplicity and functionality. It involves stripping away unnecessary elements and focusing on what’s truly important. This design trend is driven by the need for faster loading times and easy navigation. With the advent of mobile browsing, it's become crucial to offer a streamlined, easy-to-use interface that doesn't overwhelm the user with excessive information or complex layouts.
Dark Mode Dark mode has become a popular trend across various platforms and apps, and websites are no exception. It offers a visually appealing contrast to more traditional, lighter designs, and is easier on the eyes in low-light conditions. Dark mode can also help to highlight other design elements and make them pop. Embracing this trend can mean providing a more comfortable viewing experience for your website visitors, potentially increasing engagement and time spent on your site.
Microinteractions Microinteractions are small, subtle animations or design elements that provide feedback, guide the user, or add a bit of visual interest to your website. They can be as simple as a button changing color when it's clicked, or as complex as a full-page animation. Microinteractions can make your website feel more dynamic and engaging, encouraging users to interact with your content. They can also improve usability by providing visual cues and reinforcing actions.
Staying ahead in the online business sphere means embracing the future and adapting to new web design trends. A minimalist design can improve user experience by making your site easy to navigate, while dark mode can enhance visual appeal and viewing comfort. Incorporating microinteractions into your design can increase engagement and usability. By adopting these trends, you can ensure your online business remains competitive and continues to attract and retain customers in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
