Longmire is open 7 days a week. For an easy walk, check out the historic Nisqually Suspension Bridge! Originally built in 1924, it is one of the oldest bridges in the National Park Service and is listed as a National Historic Landmark. On clear days, Mount Rainier can be seen from the east side of the bridge, looking upstream.

To reach the bridge, park in the main parking area behind the National Park Inn. Follow the paths past the Longmire Museum then walk the road past the administrative area to reach the bridge over the Nisqually River (approx. 0.3 miles). Vehicles under 3 tons (6000 pounds) can also drive over the bridge. Take care; roads and paths can be icy in winter.
