🙌💙💚💜 #repost @holisticalchemy8 ・・・ TBT.. Last Thursday, Lauren Lee a #cnnhealth reporter published an article about what research says about the benefits of sound healing. Good article. Check it out in my linktree in my bio. As a sound healer specializing in the healing and#selfcare for @womenofcolor. I am concerned with how we (women of color and #blackwomenhealers)are represented or not represented in either in video/ photos. How are our voices being lifted in this wave of Mainstream media which typically shows holistic / alternative/complimentary therapy field from a white centered lens? The reporter references a NIH study on the effects of the singing bowl on tension and well-being. This modality is amazing however the reporter did not speak to how this practice could be beneficial to reach those marginalized groups of people who are daily impacted by trauma and oppression. The news reports this all the time.. the senseless murders, the egregious acts of violence! So albeit a good article that substantiates my practice, I can’t help to think about who it also marginalizes and whose face is not seen and voices not heard. Shout out to @suspendedimage for doing her part to make visible, folks like me who are doing this work.
