DIL BECHARA❤
Tumblr media
“Perhaps, the difference between what is miserable, and that, which is spectacular, lies in the leap of faith ~ SSR”
Dil bechara is a 2020 Indian hindi language coming of age romantic drama film which is inspired by John’s green novel “The fault in our stars”. The movie tell us about the reality which is far more worse than what all romantic movies show. It tells us about that there is never a happy ending. Ending is always sad. It tells us about that life is unconditional. We should live every moment of it as the last moment.
This movie is released after 40 days after the death of its lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR). His death is still a mystery. It was portrayed as a suicide but according to many people including me thinks that it was a planned murder.
Anyways in movie also SSR (character name- Manny) shoots a film for his friend JP with the lead actress Sanjana (character name- Kizzie Basu) and that movie is released after the death of Manny.
Plot of the movie:
Kizie Basu is fighting thyroid cancer when she meets Immanuel Rajkumar Junior or Manny, who has previously suffered from osteosarcoma and is in remission. Manny and his friend JP, who is suffering from glaucoma, are making a movie together, inspired by Rajinikanth's films. Manny invites Kizie to be the female lead. The two bond over his love for Rajnikanth's movies and her love for music, specifically an incomplete song by Abhimanyu Veer. Kizie and Manny gradually fall in love as they shoot scenes for JP's film. After an operation, JP loses sight in his second eye, making him go blind.
One day, Manny informs Kizie that he has managed to track down Abhimanyu Veer and get in touch with him. Kizie e-mails Veer, who replies that she can visit him in Paris to get her questions answered. Kizie and Manny convince Kizie's parents to allow them to take the trip, with the condition that Kizie's mother would join them. As they are making arrangements for the trip, Kizie's cancer gets worse and she is hospitalized.
After her recovery, she is weakened and initially distances herself from Manny but later relents. They go to Paris to visit Veer, who turns out to have no conclusive answers, disappointing Kizie. Soon after, Manny informs Kizie that his cancer had returned and is now terminal.
As Manny's health deteriorates, Kizie convinces him to finish the film. Manny then invites JP and Kizie to his mock funeral, where they deliver eulogies that they have both prepared. Manny dies soon after, leaving a letter for Kizie, explaining that he had finished Veer's song for her, but ultimately had to take Veer's help for it. JP's finished film is premiered in an open air theatre, where Kizie and the crowd experience the emotions that Manny went through on screen. In the final scene of the film, he breaks the fourth wall and speaks to Kizie, to which she replies "Seri".
Lessons of love, life and death from the movie:
1)  Living with a fatal disease is scary. You wish to have a normal life, a life where you’re not breathing borrowed air. But that looks like a dream. You are always left worrying about the ones you love- how will they live without you? You feel like a time bomb and everyone you love become a hostage of your disease.
2) No one likes incomplete stories, especially not when the story, that song hits close to time. When we don’t get our closure from the stories, we try to make our own endings. And in life too, we want closure from people.
3) It sucks when your dreams are taken away from you. You watch things fall apart and wonder if things will be the same, ever again. But remember, you need not fulfil all your big dreams. Sometimes, all you can do is fulfil someone else’s small dream. And maybe, just maybe, you might feel complete.
4) You want truth, but not the pain that comes with it. Truth can be hard and terrifying.  Sometimes love doesn’t last- you can never be prepared for what’s coming next. The thing you know, you are back in the hospital, fighting for your life. No matter how hard you try, sometimes, you will get hurt.
5) Life can be unfair sometimes, and some things are rather inevitable. We push away the ones we love, thinking we are saving them from some pain, but other people suffering is not for us to decide. We just got to give it to people- if they want to be there with us in our suffering. That’s love- you accept the good and ugly.
6) We don’t know how or when our story will begin or reach it’s end. But what we know is for the times we exist, we’re the writers to our story. And we get to choose how we want to live this life.
7) Death, as we all know it, is scary. But what makes it easier are the lasting relationships we leave behind. You never truly know what you mean to someone until you’re gone, and that is scary. So have a pre-funeral with your girlfriend and your best friend. Hear them tell the most embarrassing and amazing stories about you. You might find your closure.
8) Dil bechara taught us that presence of a person doesn’t matter when you are in love with their soul.
Best dialogues of the movie and it’s translation in english:
1) Janam kab lena h aur marna kab h, hum decide nhi kar skte. Par kaise jeena h, wo hum decide kar sakte h
Translation: We can’t decide when we will be born or when we will die but we can very well decide how to live our life.
 2) Kehte hai Pyaar neend ki tarah hota hai.Dheere dheere aata hai.Aur phir ekdum se aap, usmein kho jaate hai
Translation: It is said that love is like sleep. It comes slowly but then suddenly you get lost in it.
 3)  Jab koi mar jaata h toh uske saath jeene ki umeed bhi mar jaati h par maut nhi aati
Translation: When someone we are close to dies, with that our hope of living also dies.
 4) Hero banne ke liye popular nhi hona pdta wo app real life mein bhi ban skte h
Translation: To become a hero, you don’t have to be popular. Hero exists in real life also.
 5) Ek tha raja, ek thi raani dono mar gye khatam kahani.
Translation: There was a king, there was a queen and when both died, the story ends.
 6) Meri raani zinda h aur tab tak humari kahani bhi zinda h
Translation: My queen is still alive and till that our story is also alive.
 7) Tum mere heart ke liye zarrori ho, it beats faster every time you come closer.
Translation: You are important for my heart as it beats faster every time you come closer.
 8) Man karta h itna tight hug du ki inki tooti hui zindagi jod du
Translation: I wish I can hug them so tight that their broken lives get repaired.
Hahaha…. Thanks for reading this one. This blog has my heart. And if you have not watched this movie then do watch it!!!

My version of how Kedarnath ends (spoilers)
Tumblr media
Mukku and her family manage to reach to a safe place. There are so many people around - drenched entirely and worried for their survival. Everything is happening really fast that Mukku doesn’t really get any time to think. Her mother pushes a stack of towels into her hands and she gets to handing them out to people who are freezing, who cannot move due to the cold water. As Mukku is handing out towels, she sees Kullu enter the house with his mother. His mother is in pain and is freezing. Mukku glares at him and then turns to her sister, signalling her to not bother with him. Brinda just grabs a towel and goes to offer it to his mother, wrapping it around her. Brinda goes to the stove to prepare some hot tea for them. Their mother is helping Brinda with the tea as well. Suddenly, they feel the house structure shake, as though its foundations are shaken and they see cracks form around them. Mukku looks up in horror to her sister and mother on the other side of crack. Before she knows is, one half of the house breaks down and sinks in the flood below them taking her mother and her sister with it. People around start running out in panic, trying to escape the debilitated house. But for Mukku and her father, time stops, Mukku and her father are distraught. She loses sense of everything and just falls to the ground looking at her mother and sister reaching out from the flowing water, water that is rapidly carrying them away with the wave. They are reaching out for help, Mukku cannot do anything but shout and scream and cry. Her father is in shock, looking at one half of his family being carried away with the water. His wife and his daughter. Both are helpless.
Mukku’s father quickly realises that the building structure is about collapse and they might suffer the same fate as his wife and daughter, he pulls Mukku up and starts dragging her outside. She is still in shock and resists slightly until survival instincts kick in. They make their way out, where they run into Kullu. Mukku loses her cool and starts hitting and attacking him whilst her father watches, trying to half-heartedly trying to stop her. Kullu finally pushes her off, gives her and her father a sharp look and walks away from them, deserting them. Her father is a little shocked, but Mukku just takes her father's arm and pulls him away in the opposite direction. Mukku and her father make their way into the Kedarnath temple, where a lot of people have taken shelter. Everyone is scared beyond their mind. Mukku’s father hugs her and rubs her head trying to comfort her. Mukku’s thoughts are broken up when she hears Mansoor's voice calling out her name. She immediately stands up and starts walking around shouting his name. They finally see each other. Both are relieved. As they are making their way to each other, a huge gush of water floods the temple and within seconds they are under water and are dragged out of the temple with the force of water. Mukku's father catches hold of her, but they are being pulled with the water, until Mansoor reaches out and grabs Mukku's hand and holds on to Nandi. The force of the water is really pulling against them. Mansoor is determined and holds on to the statue for dear life. Mansoor and Mukku look at each other, just trying to withstand this moment, praying that the water passes. Eventually Mukku starts to lose consciousness, Mansoor looks at her and sees that her eyes have closed. Helplessly Mansoor tries to wake her up by jerking her arm, her father is holding onto her arm, both of them dependent on Mansoor holding onto the statue. People around them have been dragged away with the water. It would have been the end but the water passes away after a few seconds and they go along with it and are submerged in the ground and covered in wet mud. Within a few minutes, Mansoor wakes up, feeling suffocated. He is covered in wet mud. He wipes his face instinctively, trying to breathe and sees bodies around him. He immediately locates Mukku and goes to her, picks her out of the mud, wipes her face and nose as she gasps for breath. He sees that she is well, so he does the same to her father lying next to her. Her father starts breathing and gets up, feeling indebted to Mansoor. They see other bodies, and jump to helping them. Some of them are still alive, Mansoor and Mukku help them up. Most of them are dead.
They can feel the structure is not very steady and is trembling a lot. They are worried for their lives. With them, there is a small family of 3. Mukku is held on both sides by her father and Mansoor. They see an Army helicopter making their way to them. The party of 6 make their way up to the terrace of the house they are in. The helicopter stops above them and drops down the cable and the jacket. Mansoor grabs it and starts securing the jacket with it around a woman and her kid from the family. He secures them and signals the officer to pull them up. Next, Mansoor secures the jacket for Mukku’s father. Her father is crying and holds onto Mansoor’s shoulders, not knowing how to convey his emotions. Mansoor just nods at him, understanding him, and signals the officer to take him up. When the cable comes down again, Mansoor couldn’t have been quicker to put it around Mukku. Mukku is just crying and looking at him. She is feeling helpless, her eyes convey that she wants Mansoor up next, her eyes are almost pleading with him to hurry him. She wishes they could go up together. She just wants her father and Mansoor out of there. He quickly hugs her and kisses her forehead and checks whether the jacket is secure before giving the thumbs up to the rescue team, they quickly pull her up. They send it back down, Mukku is just calling out for him. Mansoor is securing the jacket around himself looking up, Mukku is just calling out for him, until she hears the officer say they can only allow one person as the helicopter is full. Hearing this, the child also starts calling out for his father down. Mansoor just looks up, seeing Mukku and the little boy. Mukku calling out for him and the little boy calling out for his father. The choice is made for Mansoor. Crying, he starts to take off his jacker. Mukku is being held by her father, she is crying out for Mansoor. She keeps yelling “Mansoor NO NO NO”. He cries harder hearing her scream but he could not let a little boy lose his father. He knows the pain of it. He secures the jacket around the man, and signals the officers to take him up. Mukku is crying , he looks up at her, he is crying too but he still smiles at her. Once, the man is up, the helicopter flies away, leaving Mansoor back on the roof.
Mukku is inconsolable, they pull her back in, her father hugs her and they close the helicopter. She screams, she kicks her legs, she ultimately feels numb. After a while, the helicopter finally makes a landing. Mukku has screamed and cries so much that there’s nothing but dry tears now. They are asked to get out of the helicopter quickly, so they team can head back to save more people. They get out and are led to whether the other rescued people are sitting. When they get there, Mukku and her father see Kullu sitting there with other people. He sees them and makes their way to them. Before he can say anything, Mukku's father makes it clear to him that the marriage never happened for them and he'd rather die than let Mukku be Kullu's wife.  Her father takes Mukku away from him. Kullu just watches them walk away, not knowing how to explain his act of cowardice.    Mukku’s father tries to see if he can see his wife and daughter there. Hoping against everything that they were too rescued as they were. Mukku is just sitting wrapped in a blanket, her father consoling her but she can't hear him, she cannot hear anything around her. Her entire world has been ripped from her, her mother, her beloved sister and Mansoor. She somehow feels responsible for everything. She is broken out of her thoughts, when she feels her father jerking her arm, looking at a distance saying 'Mansoor Mansoor" , trying to get her to see. She immediately looks up and sees Mansoor and some more people alighting from another rescue helicopter walking to the area with all the other rescued people. He has tears in his eyes but a smile on his face, looking at Mukku, Mukku finds herself get up and runs towards him and hugs him tightly, as tightly as she possibly could, scared that letting go would mean him disappearing. She cries hugging him and he hugs her back. Her father just looks on at the two of them. Mansoor opens his eyes and looks at her father, and is happy seeing her father give a soft smile as well.
After all, how can Bholenath let anything bad happen to his devotee?
--- Fast forward 3 years, Mansoor and Mukku are happily married, they are taking care of Shankar Lodge together and living with her father and Mansoor's mother and Mukku is pregnant.
The End
--
I had imagined this story when I first watched Kedarnath in 2019, because I just couldn’t live with the fact that Mansoor had died and didn’t get his happy ending. I had to imagine something else to make myself feel better. The writing might not be very polished though, it’s just to make myself feel better.
(Perhaps they also found her mother and Brinda were rescued too, but I didn’t write that)
I wrote this now because of the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. I don’t know why but I was really affected by his death, despite not knowing him personally. May he rest in peace.

Ten Reasons Why I Broke Up With My Current Guy
Just like love sometimes break ups too happen just unplanned, Nah! Actually not if you read my ten reasons why I decided to call off my three year old relationship with my guy:-
1) He was very moved my Sushant Singh’s Rajput taking a sudden step to end his life. He would read articles and debates on nepotism and once a Bhai fan today he loathed him. However, when never approved of me talking to my ex husband who is also a very close friend btw during the lock down when he hit rock bottom and slipped in severe depression.
2) My ex was/is a renowned corporate and behavioral trainer, he attracted me the most when he was on stage but soon soon he started applying all of those logic’s and jargon's in simple fights. He has termed me as a person with high self serving bias whenever I deferred with the common beliefs. For Eg: Use cuss words, but obviously only in my comfort zone with people, in fights even the “F” word does not come to my mind, so I forwarded him an article about girls using cuss words which was on a positive note, just for fun, he claimed I attract it as I have a high self serving bias.
3) For almost three years, I have trained my routine and diet in a way that I do not have dinner; on days when I feel hungry or crave something I am not shy of ordering. He is a gentleman to ask me each time he is ordering something for dinner but not a gentleman to take my no seriously and still order me a soup.
Same for drinks, he knows I have quit drinking more than a decade ago, he is a regular drinker. On weekends he would never fail to add two beers for me along with his Whiskey.
4) He is very punctual.  He loves reaching his training's a little more than an hour in advance. He motivates me to be punctual for my work, but even when he knows that I love mornings and love waking up early to finish my workout before hitting the day, in past three years I never recall him setting a schedule in the night to finish everything on time.
5) The first thing he does in the morning after waking up in open his phone and scroll through his feeds while in the loo. I have a habit of penning down my creative thoughts which mostly happen in the night before going to bed, and he has an objection to the same.
6) He has a daughter and he has specifically told her to break anyone’s face in a fight but, he likes the movie Kabir Singh. He finds the movie Thappad too feminist to handle. Surprisingly, he watched it with his mom who had the same opinion.
7) He was a divorcee when we started dating and his daughter was 4 at the time. I loved his daughter and we shared a great camaraderie. He had a very messy divorce and since I know him from my college days I knew where he was right and so I stood through with him. On the contrary I had a very peaceful divorce. I was having lunch with my husband and my Mother In Law on the afternoon we had to sign on the dotted lines. My ex husband and me have been friends for 20 decades and have always had each others back. The decision for divorce was mutual and I asked him to nothing in my divorce. I mention all this to just give you a little background about my past relationship.
We were friends and our friendship remained unaffected with that piece of paper but my boyfriend could never understand our relationship and took jibes at it.
8) He loves big cars. He believes in buying a second hand higher range Honda car even when he knows he can afford buying a brand new small car. Guy thing, it does not really bother me much. But, one day he offered to take me to Marine Drive in his new swanky Honda Civic. While he boasted about the condition of the car even when it was used, he said something which I quote  “Mujhe apni gadi aur bandi maintained achi lagti hai”, nope he is not a North Indian, so please do not have your biases up. There were times when he would ask me to stay a ‘little dressed up”, there were times he was tired of seeing me in my comfort clothes during lock down.
9) I love to stay in a clean place. Even in the lock down with no maids and for a person who loves alone, my refrigerator is stocked with all healthy veggies and fruits and all essentials. There are no mountains of utensils that stare at me.  I do not have a washing machine but there are no piles of clothes in my laundry bag as I take efforts to change the bed sheet every week and wash them. Every Sunday apart from cooking a delicacy I make sure the house is mopped thoroughly. Yet, most times I feel a bit lazy to fold the washed clothes and yes I would agree that they sometimes pile up. But, all he sees in some cartons that still have unused curtains, and the plies of clothes,
10)  I had a huge argument with my society secretary over feeding dogs during lock down. He threatened me with a fine and I had to write to Maneka Gandhi for the same and she was kind enough to make the call. Her team to swiftly came into action and took the right side. The secretary found another silly reason to find me apart from feeding. I decided to face the bully. I had all the lawmakers’ opinion telling me that no society has a right to fine you unless you damage a property. My guy felt the secretary was right as we have to learn to co exist and if there is problem with feeding dogs I must not do it.
                                                              &
10) Like I mentioned he is very punctual, so each time I am out for an office party or with friends which is a very rare event, as I love spending time at home more, he keeps an eye on the watch just like Cinderella. His argument is that it is not safe to travel in the night. We stay in Mumbai and quiet honestly I understand the concern but, I am reminded of the time when we had a fight on expressway and he was so drunk that got off mid way, even when he knew that it was night and it was the first time I was driving on express way.
In the end I would only say that Titanic shrunk only because the captain ignored the tip of the iceberg.

The past decade has changed the Bollywood content arena, and it looks like audiences are spoilt for choice, but what about the next decade?
youtube
The film is directed by Ramesh Sippy, starring Hema Malini, who is making a comeback in a romantic comedy. The film Shimla Mirchi has been stuck for 5 years, and no distributor was willing to take it up, but after a long struggle the film has finally been released in cinemas today. This film is an ensemble with stars such as Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Shruti Haasan, Anushka Sharma, Raghuram Rajput, Sushant Singh Bhushan and Manish Tiwari.
The trailer of Shimla Mirchi begins with a charming guy named Avi who has no problem wooing a girl and confessing his love for Rajkummar. He falls in love with a free, spirited girl named Naina Rakul and decides to write her a letter in which he confesses his love for her.
Rukmini immediately falls in love with the letter and wants to date Rao, who is her age, but his daughter Naina Rakul (Preet Singh) is desperate for him to get on with his life and pass on the love letter he wrote her.
The Shimla Mirchi film directed by Ramesh Sippy had a fantastic playground performance to which the audience reacted with laughter and a good amount of positive feedback from the audience. Bollywood films are great in their category - duper, but this supposedly funny plot is so ridiculous that the funniest part of this film is Malini supporting Kent's real-life water purification meta-product. The film was originally supposed to be released last year, but has already been postponed five times and it has been decided that it will not be released until the second half of 2020, after the release of the first film.
The film consists of Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpai, Anil Kapoor, Shashi Thakur, Raghuram Rajan and Anushka Sharma. The story follows the story of two young women who fall in love with the same man while he plays the role of a young man in his first film Dabangg.
When the trailer for the film SHIMLA MIRCHI appeared on the Internet on December 26, 2019 without any hint, moviegoers and trade experts were surprised. The trailer begins with a confident Avi Rao, who lacks the courage to express his love for Naina Singh.
The film is said to be a sweet little romantic story set in Shimla and directed by Ramesh Sippy in 2014. Directed by SHOLAY director Ramesh Sippy, the film is a long-delayed romcom set to hit theaters in its first week in theaters on December 26, 2020. Our Shimla Mirchi Movie review predicts an opening week for the film, which will probably add up to a good collection.
Ramesh Sippy cheered on the audience in the theatre when it occurred to me that I had pre-ordered my double ticket for drama and film. As a director, he brings out the stars of the film and their best performances to date, as well as the film itself.
The film may have had a bearable opening because it's weak, experts say, but what happens next is fairly predictable. The 2 hours and 20 minutes of the film are almost unbearable and even make the audience survive the climax. As fantastic as the film's reviews may be, it still doesn't match the performance of its stars in the film.
The sole merit of the film belongs to Rajkummar Rao, and he is the only reason why you can see this film. Hema Malini is beautiful beyond words, but the weak script has little to do with it. In fact, she, too, is undeniable and pulls off her role with ease and grace.
Rakul Preet Singh looks cute, and her pairing with Rajkummar may appeal to audiences, but this love story requires a bigger - than - movie star to work for it. Despite the best efforts of Rao and Singh, their romance is frisson - free. As the stumbling and passionate Avinash, he channels his inner Rukh Sharma, a man with a heart of gold and a love for his wife.
SHIMLA MIRCHI, a newly released Hindi drama starring Hema Malini and Rajkumar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh as its co-stars. The café where Avinash works and which is owned by Naina has one of his favourite Lecher as manager and one Lecher as owner.
Shimla Mirchi is directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by Rajkumar Rao, the son of Ravi Shankar - son-in-law and co-producer. The director, whose credits include Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta and Andaaz, is returning to directing after nearly two decades.
The trailer for the film has been released showing Rajkummar Rao in the role of a man who proposes to the woman he loves. He writes a letter professing his love for Rakul Preet, who accidentally ends up in the hands of his mother, played by veteran actress Hema Malini.

Top 5 Best Cinematography in Hindi Films in 2018
January 12, 2019
by Inakshi Chandra-Mohanty
1. Pankaj Kumar - Tumbbad
Tumblr media
The best visuals of the year are in the epic horror fantasy film Tumbbad. From the outer shot of the ‘haveli’ (mansion) drenched in the non-stop rain, to the barely lit close ups of Vinayak’s (Sohum Shah) face as he searches for the hidden treasure, each frame tells a story of its own. Tumbbad is like one of those ancient tales that one would read in Amar Chitra Katha comics, unfolding on screen. And therefore, each frame feels like a drawing from one of those books, picturized on screen. The mixture of colors, red, blue, and yellow, make Tumbbad and the ‘haveli’ look threatening. Greed brings forth darkness and sadness, and the stark visuals of Tumbbad reflect upon this theme. Overall, this film achieves the perfect tone thanks to the visuals.
2. Avik Mukhopadhyay - October
Tumblr media
For a film to be cinematographically brilliant, the shots do not need to be conventionally beautiful, standing out above the rest. Perfect framing, and unique, but emphatic angles are equally as essential to making the cinematography a success. October has a mixture of stunning shots and succinct framing.  The former comprise of shots such as the close-ups of the Shiuli flowers and the gorgeous wide angles of Kullu when Dan moves there for work. The latter, however, comprises of some of the most emotional, poignant shots of the film. The most resonating scene in the film is when Shiuli’s mother tells Dan to leave. The focus of the camera begins on a close up of the door opening in the foreground and then shifts to Shiuli’s mother speaking in the background. The angle at which this shot is presented and the framing of the character in comparison to the door can allow for much interpretation in regards to the dynamic between Dan and Shiuli’s mother, and the connection that the two have as the only ones that still have hope. The film is filled with many more instances of thoughtful framing that truly makes it like poetry on screen.
3. Sayak Bhattacharya - Laila Majnu
Tumblr media
Kashmir is one of the most beautiful locations in India because it is one of the few areas where multiple seasons can be experienced. From snow, to rain, to a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains, the makers of Laila Majnu have taken full advantage of the breadth of Kashmir. In the second half, when Majnu’s depression takes a toll on his health, we see him travelling across the vast mountains and forests of Kashmir during the songs, as he begins to speak to the imaginary Laila. During these sequences, there is a combination of greenery, sunlight, and snow, as all the different facets of these gorgeous valleys are explored. Apart from that, even the song during the end credits has gripping cinematography, as the camera captures Laila and Majnu dancing on bridges, in large fields, and on the mountains, as snow, autumn leaves, and greenery surround them. That one song itself is enough to encapsulate all seasons. Without the brilliant cinematography, the film would have been incomplete, and it would have been a disappointment for a film set in Kashmir not to fully explore it.
4. Tushar Kanti Ray - Kedarnath
Tumblr media
Like Laila Majnu, Kedarnath is also set in an area filled with mountains and valleys, making for some beautiful sights. The makers explored the whole location, especially during the flood sequence. One of the best shots in the film is towards the end when the camera focused on Mansoor (Sushant Singh Rajput) from above, while he stared upwards as the water surrounded and engulfed him. However, the most beautiful frames in the film were not of the grand landscape but were instead during the scene when Mansoor and Mukku (Sara Ali Khan) spent time together in the cave. There is a striking contrast of colors as there is blue from the sky and rain, meshed with an orange hue from the fire lit in the cave. The harshness of the colors, signifies the intensity of their relationship as this is the moment when they truly accept their emotions for one another. The strength of the emotions, portrayed through the visuals in this scene and the remainder of the film, is what makes Kedarnath the epic that it tries to be.
5. Anil Mehta - Beyond the Clouds
Tumblr media
Despite its weak story and screenplay, Iranian filmmaker, Majid Majidi’s, first Indian film works purely because of the visuals and performances. The film opens with some magnificent shots of the chaotic Mumbai, ranging from the traffic-filled streets to the congested gallis. Later in the film, as Amir (Ishaan Khatter) begins to bond with the children, he dances on the song Muqabla behind the parapet, hence allowing the camera to capture some beautifully framed shadows. And the last shot of the film is perhaps the most beautiful as the drops of rain slowly drip onto the fingers of the little boy who has not seen anything outside of the square cell he has been confined to since his birth. These three sets of shots reflect the strong emotions of love and hatred, from the brother-sister relationship, to the relationship between a man and the family of the person who is the reason for his sister’s suffering. These emotions are the strength of this film, and the visuals are the strength of the emotions.

This was followed by glamorous roles in the commercially successful ensemble-comedy Housefull 2 (2012) and the action thriller Race 2 (2013), which garnered her an IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress nomination. Fernandez went on to star in the top-grossing action film Kick (2014) and the comedies Housefull 3 (2016) and Judwaa 2 (2017).
Tumblr media
Alongside her screen acting career, Fernandez has worked as a judge in the ninth season of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2016–2017), is a popular celebrity endorser for various brands and products, has participated in stage shows, and is active in humanitarian work.

The film established Fernandez as one of the most popular Bollywood actresses.
In 2015, Fernandez featured in Vicky Singh’s Roy, a romantic thriller, which critic Sarita A. Tanwar described as a “boring, exhausting and pretentious” film. Chandrachur Singh on his comeback with Aarya, years in oblivion: ‘I see it as a learning curve’ - tv
https://liveindiatimes.com/chandrachur-singh-on-his-comeback-with-aarya-years-in-oblivion-i-see-it-as-a-learning-curve-tv/
Actor Chandrachur Singh may have spent many years in the oblivion after the success of Maachis and Tere Mere Sapne, but he is not the one to complain. In fact, he sees it as a learning curve. Chandrachur makes his comeback with Sushmita Sen in the web series Aarya, which is set be released online on June 19.
Currently staying with his family in Gurgaon, Chandrachur recounted his journey into showbiz in an interview with Hindustan Times. “I completed college and reached Mumbai as I had a film offer. We shot in Goa and completed the film, but it never released. I was struggling for several years. I even worked as a teacher for some time. Then I got lucky, Maachis happened and the journey began. I could have been in civil services, I even loved music. I took up acting because a few friends suggested it. It began as a hobby and then transformed into an entire career.”
Asked about his struggling days and the failures he encountered during his Bollywood stint, Chandrachur said, “I had some good films and learnt a lot working on them. I have been quite occupied with my personal life and then when I began working, I did not spend much time or effort on publicising, perhaps the reason why I was not in the news. I am not too active on social media either.”
Also read: Sushant Singh Rajput’s heartbreaking poem for mother goes viral: ‘I promised you I would keep smiling no matter what’
After a remarkable debut with Gulzar’s Maachis in 1996, Chandrachur’s second film Tere Mere Sapne, produced by Amitabh Bachchan’s production company ABCL, also released the same year and did well. However, the actor didn’t get any big hits until Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Josh and Preity Zinta’s Kya Kehna in 2000.
“A few films really worked well for me but there were also some interesting projects that came my way but just didn’t happen because of various reasons. Things like these affect when you take a human view, but if you take a spiritual approach, it helps in taking it all in. It can be disillusioning to be in the spotlight and then not be seen anymore. But hw you cope with it matters. Tough times don’t last, tough people do. Certain factors are in your control and certain things are not. I have accepted it like that. I believe there is a larger plan that is better than mine,” he says. Some of the recent films he featured in, include Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2013) and Bollywood movies like Zilla Ghaziabad (2013) and Aa Gaya Hero (2017).
About working on his upcoming project, Aarya, Chandrachur said, “I got a chance to work with Sushmita again and it was nice to get back with them again. …The format and structure of Ram’s filming is novel and different. There is no action, no cut. The challenge was a new format in which scene would begin and it was spontaneous. There was a scene and there were dialogues but there were mostly lines that came from within.”
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYajW2ePmFQ
He added, “Aarya is a layered project and there is much more to it beyond the crime thriller angle. It is something which has got multiple layers and you need to watch it to understand it all.  When you reach and behave as the character and actually feel the entire gamut of emotions, it becomes interesting. The challenge for me, while shooting Aarya was going about shooting in this new process. There was excitement for the new format and there were challenges, but I felt a new kind of satisfaction  in this process, I liked the unlearning involved.”
Co-directed by Ram Madhvani, Sandeep Modi and Vinod Rawat, Aarya is scheduled to premiere on Disney + Hotstar on June 19.

A day in the life...
The sun rose, the flowers bloomed, the birds chirped. Life was buzzing and oozing out of its shell just like yesterday..
People were out for their usual walks, the newspaper and milk vendors stopped to shake hands, the flights landed on the tarmac and hugging and cheering was seen at every exit gate of the airport..
Who knew the usual, the normal was about to fade. Those smiles were just about to become dearer. The usual was just on the verge of becoming unusual soon. Who knew?
"Breaking news", the bottom red line flashed on TV. It was only morning, I thought..
Covid 19 'Corona' in the details, it read. I thought it to be just another fancy name given to a new fever somewhere in the world. Just like cyclones are named these days by countries, sipping the tea I murmured.
Who knew a worldwide thunder is around the corner?
In a few months, it has rattled life across the world, brought things to a standstill with devastating consequences everyway. China was made hugely unpopular for being the epicenter and still concealing the underlying danger of it getting spread across the world.
World and Covid, the Vikram and the betaal of 2020. Cursed by many, loved by none.
But, it was only morning I thought.
The sun will come on the head by the afternoon and deplete the cosmics, I hoped.
It was time for lunch and I was mulling over ordering some sanitized pizza to kill the covid blues, all excited to treat my tastebuds on the luxury of some Dominoregano, while bingewatching.
"Breaking news" - flashed again! A young bright man with a super infectious smile just hanged himself. Sushant Singh Rajput, it read.
My eyes couldn't unglue themself from the word 'Rajput' and were fighting a battle within on how suicide and rajput can rhyme together. I gulped my saliva and stopped my fingers from dancing on the zomato app.
Pictures of his body flashed on my whatsapp right from his bedroom and the news reporters were standing raising a mic next to his shocked dad. Apko kaisa lag raha hai - jokers in circus seemed to be on the job once again, I sat helpless, controlled with a 'hard to keep' emotionless face. My own dad next to me looked terrified, braving it himself.
The insta, fb and twitter buzzed with activity once again, beeping a million times a second with smiling faces and happy moments spent with the brilliant actor. Condolences, they call it. Time for some white clothes to come out from the closet, an opportunity for a public appearance post the lockdown, they thought.
'Be kind to others. You never know about the war within' hashtagged across all posts as if its like 'A men' at the end of a prayer. Will be forgotten soon, I thought once again.
But it was only afternoon, I thought.
"Breaking news" - a notification on my mobile screen read, as I bit my teeth across that wafer ice cream cone post dinner. Was too busy enjoying the smoky chocolate flavour, but still I thought to click on to read details. Just inquisitive, you know.
20 plus Indian soldiers martyred at the ladakh standoff with China, the headline read. Is covid over already? Does the mother nation of virus even has time to look elsewhere, beyond the well being of its citizens, I thought.
The world is fighting a battle against an unknown enemy. Even the lipstick sales have suffered a setback because of the new fashionista - the mask! The vaccine is far from discovery and there are more reasons for people to kill each other at this time, specially at this time; I wonder..
The PM tweets, the opposition blames, the news channels burst with debates, new videos on the military strength of the two nations emerge on YouTube yet again, the tricolors with shiny coffins are dusted yet again for use.
The families of these 20 martyrs, what happens to them? They can't even grieve in peace as the jokers emerge in their drawing rooms yet again forcing their children and family members to showcase those photo albums, those scrapbooks and recite those memories for news viewers for some TRP's! Is this the content we want to watch, I thought?
I am glad its midnight finally and time to sleep. But the frightening thoughts of what may happen the next day, kept me awake all through. The more we think we are in control of life, the more it slips away to make us realize our limited helpless entity in this living world!
Live the nights of your life as days before its morning again. The darkness may be creepy but regrets are even darker, scarier. You never know what adventure awaits when the sun shines again. No one can guarantee whether they will wake up the next morning.
Stay awake. Slow down. Look around. Pause. Think. Do. Love. Care. Feel. Adore. Smile. Turn around those rusty dusks of your life into sparkling times. Live it to the fullest, before its too late.
One life - kingsize! :-)

As the nationwide lockdown that commenced in March earlier this year, many films were postponed due to the shutdown of theatres. The coronavirus pandemic has brought the showbiz to a standstill. Even as the restrictions are slowly being lifted, it’s uncertain when the theatres will reopen and whether the audience will head to the cinema halls. Producers are opting for direct-to-OTT options in order to not suffer more losses.
It was already rumoured that after several movies like Gulabo Sitabo and Shakuntala Devi took the OTT route, many projects will be making it to the digital platforms. Now, as per recent development, sources reveal that Disney + Hotstar will premiere ten films on their platform including two of the highly awaited movies – Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb and Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride Of India.
Here are all the movies releasing on the OTT:
LAXMMI BOMB:
The film stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the leading roles. The upcoming horror thriller is written and directed by Raghava Lawrence as this film marks his Hindi directorial debut. Akshay plays the role of a transgender. It is a remake of the Tamil movie Muni 2: Kanchana.

via Today Bharat Sushant Singh Rajput death case: Their statements are now with the CBI, which has taken over the investigation of the abetment to suicide case registered in Patna against Rajput’s partner, actor Rhea Chakraborty, following a complaint from his father K K Singh. Sushant Singh Rajput, Sushant Singh Rajput death, Sushant Singh Rajput suicide, Sushant Singh Rajput depression, Sushant Singh Rajput family Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh said the Rajputs were unaware about his mental health issues and would not want to comment on an ongoing investigation. TWO PSYCHIATRISTS whom Sushant Singh Rajput had consulted independently of each other for eight months – from November 2019 until days before his death by suicide on June 14 – told Mumbai Police the actor was irregular with the medicines prescribed to him and from what they knew, had stopped taking them in the first week of June. Their statements are now with the CBI, which has taken over the investigation of the abetment to suicide case registered in Patna against Rajput’s partner, actor Rhea Chakraborty, following a complaint from his father K K Singh. The central agency is questioning the two doctors again. One of the psychiatrists was summoned for questioning on Thursday. Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh said the Rajputs were unaware about his mental health issues and would not want to comment on an ongoing investigation. In the statement to Mumbai Police, one of the psychiatrists has said that Sushant had consulted with him over a video call on June 8, just six days before his death. On that occasion, the psychiatrist asked him why he had not been taking the prescribed medicines. “Sushant only laughed and did not say anything,” the doctor said. The second psychiatrist told the police that Sushant had all the symptoms of bipolar disorder, and that “on a scale of 1 to 10 for anxiety, his mental condition had reached 9 or 10” at the time of their first consultation last November. The statement added while the actor was aware of the disease all along, he would stop the medication as soon as his condition improved. One of the doctors met the actor at least twice for a face-to-face consultation, and the other met him at least eight times. In their separate statements, both have painted a picture of a deeply troubled man, with a long history of depression and anxiety, and badly affected by his mother’s death while he was still a teenager. To one of them, he had also acknowledged once that at times, he “did not have the desire to live”. Both the psychiatrists started treating Rajput independently after being contacted in November 2019 within days of each other. One of the psychiatrists told the police that on June 8, Rhea messaged on WhatsApp that Sushant was feeling “depressed again” and “if the medication could be started all over again”. Rhea had made an appointment for herself with the other psychiatrist for June 8, but called that morning to cancel saying Sushant’s condition had deteriorated, he had stopped taking medicines, and that his family members were coming to be with him. The doctor felt that as Sushant had stopped taking medicines, the bipolar disease might have relapsed.

Sushant Singh Rajput's family raises voice against defamation campaign | Hindi Movie News

Sushant Singh Rajput's family raises voice against defamation campaign | Hindi Movie News
The family of Sushant Singh Rajput has asserted that the actor was murdered, and alleged that they are getting threats as they continue their fight for justice.
The family has also criticised the ongoing campaign to slander their reputation, in a nine-page open letter. The letter, written in Hindi, comes after an editorial written by politician Sanjay Raut in the party’s mouthpiece, where he questioned the relationship between the actor and his family.
The family began the statement with a couplet from Firaq Jalalpuri, which read: “Tu idhar udhar ki na baat kar
Ye bata ki qafila kyun luta,
Mujhe rahzanon se gila nahin
Teri rahbari ka sawal hai”
The letter starts by pointing out how crores of people are disturbed after “Sushant’s murder”, and how his family is being attacked from all quarters. It also pointed out that many people are taking advantage of the tragedy for vested gains and fame. This was the reason they decided to pen the open letter to narrate what it means to be Sushant’s family.
It talks about how they shifted from a village to a city so that the children could excel in their lives.
Talking about Sushant and his sisters, the letter said: “The first daughter had magic, someone came and took her away to the land of angels. The second one played for the national cricket team, the third studied law and the fourth daughter did a diploma in fashion designing. The fifth one was Sushant, the sort who is a ‘mannat’ for mothers. Their entire life, Sushant’s family did not take anything from anyone, neither did they harm anyone.”
On his untimely death, the letter said: “People only dream about what happened in the last 8-10 years. But what happened today, should not even happen to an enemy.”
The letter goes on to take a swipe at the relatives who have been giving statements to the media claiming they were close to the actor.
The letter did not mention Sushant’s girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty, but said that Sushant was ‘brutally murdered’ and that ‘crooks trapped’ him. It went on to question how expensive lawyers are being hired in the case, wondering if they will ‘murder’ justice — indicating the high-profile lawyer hired by Rhea.
The family said they were not even given time to mourn his death, with stories surfacing that he is mentally imbalanced, and photographs of his dead body going viral.
It termed the investigation by Mumbai Police as ‘only for optics’, saying that they only tried to implicate a “few rich privileged people”. They also questioned why no steps were taken when the family approached them to take preventive action.
The family said that the four sisters and the father are getting threats as a consequence of their fight for justice, and face everyday character assassination that blots the memory of Sushant.

Rajput made his film debut in the buddy drama Kai Po Che! (2013), for which he received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He then starred in the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and as the titular detective in the action thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015).
His highest-grossing releases came with a supporting role in the satire PK (2014), followed by the titular role in the sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). For his performance in the latter, he received his first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Rajput went on to star in the commercially successful films Kedarnath (2018) and Chhichhore (2019).
NITI Aayog, the policy think-tank of the Indian government, signed him to promote the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP). Apart from acting and running Innsaei Ventures, Rajput was actively involved in various programmes like Sushant4Education, as a part of efforts to help young students. In June 2020, at age 34, Rajput reportedly died by suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai.
Early life:
Rajput was born in Patna to Krishna Kumar Singh and Usha Singh. His ancestral home is in Bihar’s Purnia district. One of his sisters, Mitu Singh, is a state-level cricketer. His mother’s death in 2002 left Rajput devastated and it was in the same year that the family moved from Patna to Delhi.
Rajput attended St. Karen’s High School in Patna and Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. According to Rajput, he had ranked seventh in the DCE Entrance Exam in 2003, and secured admission in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) class in Delhi College of Engineering.
He was also a National Olympiad Winner in Physics. In all, he cleared as many as 11 engineering entrance exams, including that for the Indian School of Mines. After he started participating in theatre and dance, he rarely had time for studies, resulting in several backlogs which ultimately made him leave DCE. He completed only three years of the four-year course before dropping out to pursue an acting career.
Career
Early years:
While a student at Delhi Technological University, Rajput enrolled in Shiamak Davar’s dance classes. It was only later that the idea of making a career in acting came to him, as some of his fellow students in the dance classes happened to be interested in acting and were attending Barry John’s drama classes. Influenced by them, Rajput also joined the acting classes.
Here, he found his passion for acting: “I found the experience liberating. I realised that I could communicate with the audience. I knew I wanted to do this forever.”
Within a few months of joining the dance class, Rajput was selected to be a member of Davar’s standard dance troupe. In 2005, he was chosen to be one of the group of background dancers at the 51st Filmfare Awards.
In 2006, he was part of the troupe that went to Australia to perform in the cultural program at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games. By this time, he was tired of engineering. He was happy and successful in the dance and drama classes, and decided to do what he was good at. He dropped out of engineering and devoted himself full-time to dancing and acting.
To make a break into films, Rajput moved to Mumbai and joined Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theatre group, which he remained a part of for two and a half years. During this time, he was featured in a TV advertisement for Nestle Munch, which became famous throughout India.
Television (2008–11)
In 2008, the casting team of Balaji Telefilms saw Rajput’s personality and acting talent while he was on stage for one of Ekjute’s plays. They invited him to audition for them and Rajput landed the role of Preet Juneja in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil.
His character was killed quite early in the show, but he was such a popular character with the viewers that he was brought back for the series finale in the form of a spirit, looking on as his family celebrates after going through difficult times.
In June 2009, Rajput began starring in Pavitra Rishta as Manav Deshmukh, a serious and mature character working as a mechanic to support his family. His work in this serial received wide appreciation, and Rajput received three major television awards for best male actor and most popular actor.
This performance was his breakthrough and gave him a stepping stone into films. Initially when producer Ekta Kapoor cast him as lead for Pavitra Rishta while playing the parallel lead in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Zee TV did not accept him. However, Kapoor convinced them to accept him.
In May 2010, Rajput joined the dance reality show Zara Nachke Dikha 2. He had already proven his acting talents by winning awards for his performance in Pavitra Rishta, and he wanted to establish that he had good dancing skills and could be trained further.
In Zara Nachke Dikha, Rajput was a part of the Mast Kalandar Boys Team. He did the shooting for both Pavitra Rishta and Zara Nachke Dikha 2 at the same time. On the Mother’s Day special episode, his team dedicated a performance to his mother, who had died in 2002.
In December 2010, Rajput participated in another dance-based reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4, where he was paired with choreographer Shampa Sonthalia.
In October 2011, Rajput decided to quit Pavitra Rishta to pursue a filmmaking course abroad, and in November 2011, Rajput quit the series and was replaced by Hiten Tejwani. However, in October 2014, Tejwani paved way for Rajput who appeared in the final episode aired on 25 October 2014 as Manav.
Film career (2013–20)
Rajput auditioned for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che! and was selected to play one of the three leads, along with Rajkumar Rao and Amit Sadh. Based on the Chetan Bhagat novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life, the film proved to be a critical and commercial success.
His portrayal of Ishaan Bhatt, an ex-district level cricketer who is a victim of politics in the cricketing selection fraternity, was praised. Critic Rajeev Masand wrote: “…it’s Sushant Singh Rajput, making his film debut as Ishaan, who it’s hard to take your eyes off. The actor has an indescribable presence and it’s clear from his confidence and distinct likeability that a star is born.
His second movie was Shuddh Desi Romance, alongside Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Yash Raj Films, the film deals with the subject of live-in relationships and was completely filmed in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama praised Rajput’s performance, saying: “After leaving a tremendous impression in his first Hindi outing, Sushant Singh Rajput… brings a lot of freshness with his unpretentious and spontaneous act.” Sukanya Verma from Rediff stated: “After a dynamic debut in Kai Po Che!, Rajput channelises his abundant energy to convey the childlike ineptitude of a man who wears his heart on a sleeve.
“Sushant’s next role was in Rajkumar Hirani’s 2014 film PK. Although his role was relatively minor, the film gave him the opportunity to work with Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma. Upon its release, the film proved to be the one of the highest-grossing Indian films.
In 2015, Rajput’s sole release was Dibakar Banerjee’s mystery thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015), in which he portrayed detective Byomkesh Bakshi, created by Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The film was produced jointly by Yash Raj Films and Banerjee’s own film production company Dibakar Banerjee Productions. Set in Kolkata in the 1940s, the film was released on 3 April 2015
In 2016, he appeared in Neeraj Pandey’s biographical sports film M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, in lead role of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film was a critical and commercial success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2016. Rajput’s performance was widely praised by critics and earned him his first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
In 2017, he appeared in Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta, co-starring Kriti Sanon.
In 2018, he appeared in Kedarnath, a love story set in the backdrop of the 2013 floods in Uttarakhand, co-starring Sara Ali Khan. In this film he played the role of Mansoor Khan, a Kashmiri young man.
In 2019, he appeared in Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya opposite Bhumi Pednekar. He appeared in Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore opposite Shraddha Kapoor that released on 6 September 2019. Later that year, he starred in Drive alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, which was released on Netflix.
In 2020, he starred in Mukesh Chhabra’s remake of The Fault in Our Stars titled Dil Bechara. The film was slated to be released in May of that year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Projects cancelled
In 2016, it was announced that Rajput would appear in two films Chanda Mama Door Ke a science-fiction space film, along with R. Madhavan and Takadum a musical drama, opposite Irfan Khan and Parineeti Chopra was supposed to be directed by Homi Adajania. He later withdrew from the former, citing date conflicts. He was also set to essay 12 real-life characters, including political strategist Chanakya, poet Rabindranath Tagore and former Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam, in a biopic series on Stories of India
