No one shoulders self doubt like a single parent. I remember many nights sitting on the side of my bed wondering how I was going to pay for school supplies, purchase grocery, or gas for the van. Sometimes, I forgot my superpowers. My anxiety got the best of me and I yelled way too much. I had to remember to be in the moment. Stop worrying about what we didn’t have and just enjoy my children. Reading Maya Angelou at the dinner table, watching them try to cheat on game night, driving them to all their after school activities. I had to remember to be sympathetic because we were in this together. Sensitive because they had their own stuff to deal with. ( divorce is not easy) and strong because with Christ as the head of our family I was not alone. You will always have bills. Your children will grow up and move on. ENJOY THEM!
