Sooo Inspiration huh. Very interesting topic for me because i am. Very much shaped by the art and media I like / consume. And yet i dont feel like much of it shows up in my own art style really. I am not sure why, probably because i never fully. Studied art tbh. Went to art school in free time ever since i was a 1st grader but i still feel like i skipped some major steps in actual art teachings. Color theory is my enemy.

But as direct inspirations I would say I have wayy to many to count.

Signalis (unsuprisingly) has been a literal life changing experience and I am putting down here because i cannot fully express how much it fuels me and my artistic aspirations ever since i played it. I truly wish to make a story on signalises level that can impact others.

As a second biggest inspo , i have to go with my long term soft spot that i have for the Dishonored series , specificly the art of Dishonored 2 will never leave my soul. There were multiple incredible artists working on the design team but the general feel and dedication they put into this world is smth i wish to do similiarly. Arkanes general philosophy aligns with mine.

For final big game i suppose ill put Ultrakill. I dont know what it is specificly about it that makes me so. At awe of it but it scratches my brain in similair way signalis did with its low poly style and striking colors and solid designs.

For artists god uh theres to many fjfhshdhg my own art changes style everydamn week i feel like but at least for people that impact me lately . @mrzuddie(sorry for the tag)s style has personaly spoken to me on a lot of levels , dont know why specificly but it scratches my brain so well . I always admired the more. Chaotic artstyles ? Sketchy , or rough looking pieces speak to me more than smth hyper realistic or shaded. Thats why i like pixelated stuff too. Remarins speedpaints on youtube were big part of my teen years i would say and they shaped me into being a digital artist mainly. Shiwasu Hoshikawa's Bungo Stray Dogs art also falls under the scratchy wild art category i love and wish i could replicate more .

I cant really think of any movie funikly enough that shaped me artisticly much. I like Top Gun Maverick but thats cause im a pilot and have a history with it fjfhfj. 9 film from 2009 was striking though that might have been subconciously affecting me. Also as most i think Into the spideverse and any recent well animated movie can fall in this category.

Idunno i just. Like to draw. I need to create stuff. And everything around me influences the way i draw. Including you btw your art is incredible and It is honestly fascinating studying the texture of your brushes and strokes. Thank you for asking me :]

It makes me sorta sad that people constantly overlook that Poppy is disabled as per her character description. It literally says her puppet is built in a way where other puppets end up being the ones doing most of the work on-set because it's difficult to impossible for her. Poppy isn't baking cakes; she's likely directing other her other friends in how to bake a cake because she's incapable of actually doing most of the labor involved (which is probably a lot more fun when you love in a children's puppet show, and probably becomes way less fun after said show ends). Her daily life likely relies on help from her loved ones. In this case, her friends. She's not just an anxious hermit, she's an anxious *disabled* hermit who probably needs to be checked up on so long as people are able to do that. And depending on what's going on in Welcome Home that might not be a thing that happens anymore. Being left to the mercy of your own disability mental and otherwise while the world falls apart. As a disabled person in a similar position, *that* is some frickin horror.

well, now i feel very silly for not considering this earlier, given how much i've talked about how one's autonomy (and how their life is affected by the lack thereof) seems to be something that comes a LOT in both what little we've seen of welcome home proper and what's been alluded to in concept art and some posts scattered around clown's blog. i'd point out that her bio provides an in-show explanation for why other puppets often end up assisting her (i.e. Scared) but i don't think that even has to be mutually exclusive. that fear could be - and probably is - genuine, but like. i Remember both myself* and physically disabled friends scrambling for more "socially acceptable" excuses to get out of something we knew we couldn't do before we knew what was going on with us, and continuing to do so even after finding out because you either knew for a fact that the other person wouldn't take you seriously if you told them you couldn't do (x) thing because of a disability, or because you weren't sure if they would (thanks to the behavior of people who did not.) i'm not Saying that welcome home is aiming to reflect that exact experience, because there isn't nearly enough of welcome home that's publicly available for me to make that claim, but i was reminded of that while thinking about this ask.

Thanks!! Tbh rn I can't add much to what I've written about Zanni so far without telling about the other members of my arrancar troupe but I hope soon enough I'll bring myself to drawing them... Anyway I'm glad you loved him! It means a lot when my designs gain positive attention 🤧 Here's what I have for Shinji:

I think everything that happened with Aizen really took a great toll on him. Ofc Shinji is not the kind of person to show how he's really feeling and the only one he puts the blame on now is Sosuke but for the hundred years that he was in the world of the living every time it was raining he stayed in bed until late afternoon. Literally just lying and doing nothing with music in the background because he felt terrible. No matter how much he tried the rain really did bring the blues out of him and sometimes it had gotten so bad he felt physically ill. Probably because it had been raining a lot when they ended up in Karakura. This habit of his kinda returned once he was in the position of the captain again because he felt like he was not supposed to be there. For the first couple of months his higher-ranking officers had to do EVERYTHING for him on rainy days.

His love language is acts of service... when the person he likes is doing something for him of course. Sometimes he would literally whine so they would cook for him or something like that but he is very grateful if they give into this stupid game. He would snoop around to check on them and sometimes even sneak up on them to look over their shoulder and say something silly.

Speaking of love I think he's very good at unconsciously studying and remembering the habits of the other person. If they do the same and for example don't try to wake him up when it's very cloudy and just leave the tray with breakfast on the bedside table/floor for him to eat later then he's head over heels. It means a lot to him when people take him seriously at all times even though he does and says stupid things a lot.

The last two paragraphs may be the reason why he was very into Kensei at one point lmao

Others:

Kensei has always been very popular among both women and men. I mean look at this guy!! Though it's a source of a lot of stress for him because 1) "My eyes are up here... have some fucking respect" and 2) he's actually very old-fashioned when it comes to love and attraction. Casual flings because he happened to be attractive to someone is NOT his thing. What happened to courting your love interest and all that?..

Sometimes Rose would sing for others. It didn't happen a lot because he didn't exactly get much inspiration in the situation they were in and he knew for sure other vizards couldn't always be in the mood for some music. It was far too cramped and noisy already for something like that and Shinji had already taken the role of the person who was going to annoy everybody with noise. Once they returned to Gotei he hoped it would change but with the sheer amount of work that waited to be done it was deemed impossible. Too busy, too tired, too uninspired. Who sings just for themselves anyway? Though I think if someone asked he would be soo happy to play or sing something for them

Lisa knows EVERYTHING about other vizards. Sometimes she would pick up on things even faster than them. She's not being creepy about it ofc. Well... Usually. But if she thought it could help someone or herself she's gonna use it either for them or against them.

we gave wind hearing aids because. that kid got launched out of a canon. that HAD to have done something to lil mans hearing. he has them in both ears. hes also just very....i always imagine him with green eyes! not sure why, but he just seems the type to have green eyes. lil cat kid. his bracelet and necklace are both ones that look like they were made by Aryll

Four's hair is dyed black at the ends to replicate shadow. (Shadows hair, while not the same length or style as fours, has the same thing going on just swapped. black hair + blonde dipdye) their glasses are just because i feel like if anyone in the chain has glasses? its four. the big tattoo they have is more to connect the colours a bit more. in all of fours outfits, it switches which colour is most prominent. their everyday is the only one thats got all of them + a neutral grey. they also get the green scrunchie because if any of them have scrunchies it is ABSOLUTELY going to be four

twilight gets the dog-tag earring because it was funny. his eyes are also a yellowish gold because ill die before thats taken from me. his hair is the way it is because i cannot imagine twi with symmetrical hair. he would love the asymmetry.

wars is another one who i just feel like has green eyes. his hair is also dyed blond, and he's naturally got brown hair (like four!). the beauty mark was just a fun little touch. i also dont think its very noticable, but he has dimples ! his earrings being, like, a swatch-pad of blue is just more relating to a headcanon we have about him being into design and art

legend remains as the character i will never see as white. his hair was our FAVOURITE dawg....it just fits him so fuckin well....his outfit is also my favourite. the cowboy boots, again, were a must. (there was a swatch of them that was pink and purple but we decided on just the pink). his nails are painted but his nail polish is chipped, unlike the rest of the chain that have nail polish on. the necklace reminded us of a beehive / honeycomb. the bandage on his wrist is because i think legend is the type to always be injured. literally always. there is not a moment where this boy is not injured in some way.

skys earrings are just to reference crime since there are no birds in the sims :( thas his friend. he gets the comfiest looking outfit because i truly think he would not like the way jeans and such feel. he just wouldnt like how they feel at ALLL. he would be the comfiest mfer on the scene and he does not care what u think about him. no cares in the world, hes COMFY !! thats all he cares abt !!

rulie was never white to me either tbh. all his clothes are patchwork, and i like to think either he patched them together, or legend patched them together for him. he doesnt see the point in buying new clothes when he can just put stuff together and call it a day. he has the curliest fuckin hair of the whole group. his hair is naturally like that.

we literally just found the most dad-oriented outfits for time and mixed it with tired farmer. tired farmer dad aesthetic. im really lucky we fuckin had the heterochromia that made his eye white or else we were in TROUBLE haha. his hair hides it but he has little ear hoops in. he also has his wedding ring on. its not special its just a golden band but u never see him without it. his hair is also just cool to me i like it and dont get to use that one much !

Doctor who (who could have guessed), the life series and hermitcraft more the life series side but still. Mainly Joel's POV (when I say mainly I mean almost exclusively) but sometimes Mumbo as well, writing (both fan fic and non-fanfic although normally I'll just post about fanfic). (Speaking of fanfic Shameless self promotion), Shoot from the hip, Romeo and Juliet apparently????? I'm just here for Mercutio and Benvolio but still. Since when was I this much of a nerd??

Stuff I like but won't post about (that often):

Alien stage probably won't ever post about but there may be one or two, The amazing digital circus not in the fandom a whole lot. I have dipped my toe into it a few times but never properly gotten into it, Undertale never been in the fandom but I love the game. Playing through genocide rn and it's so fun (yes I have already done pacifist don't worry), Sherlock and co best podcast ever, Good omens the ending of season 2 literally gave me depression I wish I was joking, The owl house Hooty is the best character ever. I will take no critisism, Portal 2 I'm not really in the fandom at all (idk if there is one but I'm assuming so) I just love the game. And wheatley. I love wheatley. Ghosts (the uk version. Can't stand the american one), Severance season 2 is over and I'm totally normal about it, split fiction idk just something about it man I'm a writer what can I say??,

Might as well do my ships while we’re at it:

Thoschei. Literally all of them. This has basically become my life. It’s not healthy I know but what can I do? Don't answer that, Bencutio They have taken over my life even more than thoschei if that's even possible. They make me ill. I'm not even kidding I stopped breathing once because of them, Lokius, Aziracrow Fun fact these two were actually what made me discover fanfic and fandom spaces, Caphavers, Stobotnik. I don't post about them a lot but when I finally see sonic 3 you know I will go insane over them EDIT: I have seen sonic 3. I am insane about them, Amity x luz (idk the ship name) what can I say, I loved when they defeated the grom with the power of lesbians dancing (I know luz is bi but still), zoe x mio I won’t post about them often but I love them so much,

tbh most of my ships are with my oc’s. I would go into detail about them but you don’t need a 5000 word essay on why they are the best blorbos to ever blorbo.

i have all of those pmshi oneshots from the fk verse compiled in a single doc which makes me remember i was supposed to do a 10-20yr follow-up coinciding w the giratina event. where i think red tells silver giovanni is outta jail on immunity or some bs and tells him without saying it flat that silver's gotta be the one to take care of him. as in. put him in the dirt. so thats what he and gold go to do while their small children are stuck in the distortion world trying to appease giratina. would still love to give that a shot someday. i remember doing most of those ficlets for writing warmups in english class. in. i was 16. maybe i did some for a creative writing elective too bc i remember doing fk stuff for that that never saw the light of day (in the classroom among my peers i mean)

the amnesia au is STILL a draft somewhere among my 106 drafts on here. i started that shit my second semester of uni and vividly remember spending most of the night dming someone on here abt details bc they asked and i couldnt stop myself even tho i was pulling an all-nighter to complete an art project due that next morning. ye so def when i didnt have my priorities straight goooooood thats so painful to think abt

the pmshi soulmate au was around that time too. admittedly i should've let it set more before posting to ao3 (one of the first things on my ao3 asaaaaaaaaaa kill me) but even tho my interest was killed for that i still would like to go back to it someday. when i am out of uni nd school in general and it becomes comfortable to write using my own experiences to some extent. truly that is the reason i ever stopped - school started to suck and i didn't wanna think abt it when writing smth and i still feel the same way now. maybe will revive it after graduation (and grad school prolly) since its still interesting but i am def rewriting that shit lmao

wygtm (sumo rewrite) i am still planning to come back to. still love it. still love the post-game epilogue i drafted while in a summer course in 2019. still love the sequel idea that incorporates usum elements while also being set in the future (so mizuki+lillie are adults and have established jobs in alola and some of the brunt of the usum plot is shoved onto an unsuspecting kid to mirror how those 2 handled sumo events (ailey i think????? was the name of usum!mizuki in the demo, so i ran with it. they were 2 separate ppl) buuuuuuut ik a holdup w that will be that ill have to rewrite everything and actually decide on a personality for mizuki and also. idk i still like the name faaora i think it was french polynesian??? or smth for "hero" which was fitting. this was before the selene/elio name reveal and before i liked moon. if i redid this now i'd jus call her mizuki and have her nn be moon like i did in komadori

oh i JUST checked n the perfectworld fic was last modified (digitally) august 2019. that literally could've been accidentally pressing a key and deleting it tho im not sure. i think my first rewrite was in a notebook so maybe this is the most current version n its digital. i opened it in 2022 which im almost positive was when i did those sketches for korrina and gurkinn's granddaughters from johto. dont you just love when you make ocs for a fic in your teens and still love them years down the line.

i think the last one of note is the ranger au set in sinnoh that p much is abandoned at this point bc i've admitted to hell n back that i didnt write plot details down anywhere n its been so long ive forgotten everything. the only thing i can repurpose is all the background info i had for the sinnoh quintet and how each of them has a difficult relationship with their family and why they're out as "wandering" trainers. i've thought abt this so much bc i still love the designs i gave those 5 and all the lore i established. was gonna do a riley/roark fic last summer using my tron notes for him so maybe this summer i will. doing smth for each of them in detail would be fun since i love them sooooooo. (also i can absolutely still stuff marley/candice into her fic and actually write polartwilight for the first time ever bc i looove them)

looking @ old fic i started when i was 14/15 is so funny bc im realizing once again why i never mark fics as abandoned even if its been literal years since i've touched them. specifically i was checking docs for stuff i started and either did or didn't post to ffn.

and its like. nothing is bad??? like i can see where my outside-the-box ideal of fic writing comes from. not just fics but writing in general, i'm p sure. even if it's a total cliche plot setup, there are details on each that rly make it stand out like oh yeahhhhhh i did have this great idea once upon a time.

funny too bc was it executed well in prose??? no absolutely not i wrote like shit when i was 15. would i revive an idea one day and revise it to be less cliche or cringy while still keeping the stand-out elements??? yea maybe. i might. everything i'm currently working on that i started from 2021 up to now still holds my supreme interest, but like i'm not gonna say never.

esp since i write fic first and foremost for my own need and specifically what i like to read, it makes it impossible to consider an idea i've thought extensively about "not worth writing anymore". anyway not making this too long i jus found everything interesting to consider

Summary: Failed escape attempt from yandere Childe. He lets you play your cards, even playing along, just for his own amusement.

Notes: My first genshin piece yay... I had a sweet and terrible dream of me running from Childe in the woods. Also some inspiration was drawn from @cinnamonest‘s this post, one big virtual hug to her! I hope I did Childe justice, what can I say I love manipulative smiling boys. It has become a pattern as I dash from one fandom to another. This is had turned out to be longer then I expected...Ginger boy demands my time and energy too much omg. Mind the warnings, although there is nothing extreme in this.

Fun fact, I was looping to Nintendo game by Alessia Cara when writing this down. I believe it fits the theme of this fic quite well.

It has been nearly a month since the youngest Fatui Harbinger had “taken you in”. After a few tries, you were too horrified by the punishments to continuously fight him. You learned on the first day that Childe’s smiling, the friendly mask would come off towards you. Your behaviour would decide if that is a curse or a “blessing”.

So you had quieted down, struggling to restrain yourself from yelling or screaming, carefully not to provoke his anger. Despite being compliant to his orders, you never truly showed him any affection either. Sure, you would sit on his lap if he asked, but you never initiated anything intimate with him. No matter how much Tartaglia spoiled you with clothes, books, jewelry or other luxuries, he is still the one who holds the commanding end of your shackles. It’s the best not to get used to all of that when your sight is set on the door.

Although he has taken your freedom away, you are not kept in a windowless room. On the contrary, you have too many outings now. Wherever he goes, you have to be present in a 2m radius, including meetings. Being a Harbinger is no easy job, so he prefers not having to worry about your safetly during buisness hours. The best way to do that is never let you out of his sight.

“Love, no one should witness our little problems. Well, no one alive that is.” Of course you wouldn’t want to put innocent people's lives at stake. You never dared to act out when you two are in public, and no one would bat an eye if a Fatui had taken a lover. 

You had taken an emotionless approach towards him. If Childe wants a kiss on the cheek, you’ll give him a quick light peck. If he wants breakfast, you’ll go make some pancakes with the topping he likes. Luckily, Childe had not done anything too extreme yet. If cuddling to sleep does not count as extreme that is. The only time you slipped up is when he suddenly hugs you from behind when you’re cooking.  

You thought maybe, just maybe, by being as boring and dull as you could, this bastard might just get tired of you and let you go. Childe only loves the fun of it right? Or maybe it could lower his guard.

Oh, how naive you are. You should have known better than to underestimate a Fatui harbinger. See, this is exactly why he needs to keep you around. Yes, unfortunately for you, Childe loves you, so very much. Speaking to him with a monotone voice isn’t going to alter that fact.

You have been devoid of emotions as of late. While Childe does appreciate fewer screams for the sake of his eardrums, this schemer can sense you are up to something. Perhaps this is the peace before your “storm”(he thought of it more like a drizzle)

You want to play a game? Okay, why not? Childe cannot wait to see what tricks you got on those sleeves. Are you ever getting away? Does an amateur ever win when they play a game with a professional trickster? Never.

Still, nothing bites like a cornered rat. You are no airhead, and he is fully aware of that. Just not as cunning and observent as him, that’s all.

The way you just kept your emotions sealed up is impressive, even to someone like him. Even when he got hansy, you did not flinch and just stared at the corner. Childe can only catch faint glimpses of anger when you thought he wasn’t looking.

Hm, when are you pulling your trigger? Tonight, or tomorrow night? Not that Childe is impatient, anything from you is worth waiting. But he would need to dismiss his patrolling underlings in the nearby woods beforehand. No extras would be allowed to disturb this game.

There is no chance during the day, a somewhat mutual understanding for you two. Night time in comparison, is a different story. 

Anyone’s sleeping hours is their most vulnerable time of the day, Childe is no exception. You do not plan to harm him, not that you don’t want to. But you are willing to swallow the pent up frustration towards him if you would never see his face again after this. Maybe beating up some slimes would help with the release?

You somehow managed to slip a mixture of herbs into his tea. Since he would buy cooking ingredients for you from time to time, you had requested a bunch of herbs along with the ingredients of a sleep inducing medicine you remembered. Although Childe does all he can to keep you near him, there are inevitable hours that he needs to be somewhere without you. He cannot jeopardize your safety with troublesome monsters. On a side note, he loves showing you off to anyone, his colleagues, acquaintances, business partners, anyone he does not deem a threat.

Enough time for you to make those herbs into powder and cover it up with a few spoons of milk. Tea with milk has become quite popular in Liyue as of late. Childe has grown to love them, so you have learned how to mix it up. He always let you handle his food and drinks, saying that he “trusts you”. What you do not know is this is one of the openings he exposed on purpose. It’s not like you can aquire anything deadly under his suffocating supervision.

Your plan will work, or so you think. Childe will not wake up when you wiggle out of his grasp, because dreamland will keep him occupied. All you need is a glider and a usable sword from Liyue and you’ll get your life back. Bottling up extreme emotions has certainly taken a toll on your mind, but it will be worth it if that is the prerequisite of being free.

Something about this being so easy sits ill with you. Have you really been with the youngest Fatui Harbinger this whole time? But that was brushed off your shoulders by the sheer excitement of regaining your long lost freedom. You know Liyue is in walking distance, all you need to do is cross these woods and-

The moment you dive into the forest, you think you heard an amused chuckle. 

That smooth voice terrifies you to no end, the same voice you took orders from for the past month.

Oh, how Childe loves seeing you happy. It’s priceless, both literally and figuratively. No matter how many things he buys you, you had not shown him even one small smile. Enjoy your sweet freedom, because it ain’t going to last. You certainly will know your place after this right? If not you are just dumber then he give you credit for.

That glow of relief in your eyes is worth every last bit of this intense dizzying feeling to Childe. To make sure your plan go through, he had drunk the tea without hesitation, quick enough to catch the momentarily excitement you expressed. He knows the game is on, therefore he had given the night patrol guards the entire evening off. Forcing himself to stay concious by digging his nails into his palms, Childe followed you into the woods.

Your potion is quite strong. Excellent, you’ll have to give him the recipe for informational purposes later. Especially how you managed to achieve such effects with a few herbs you had. He never took you to be anything less than a smart girl, but this has exceeded his expectations. Where’s the fun in a game without challenges?

How you storm through the forest wearing that cute terrified expression looks so endearing, it’s surely not his fault if he wants to enjoy this sight to be longer right.

So, each time you feel the slightest at ease due to whatever reason, expect Childe to make some sound to send you running like your life depends on it again. The sadistic man is hunting you down playfully, like a cat chasing a stray mouse to the inevitable corner.

You know he is toying with you. There is nothing you can do to make him shut up though.

“Love, you had scratched your leg. Must hurts by the looks of it.”

“Liyue is that way, you know.”

“Are you tired? If you want to jog in the middle of the night, you should have called me to come along!”

How can he say those things nonchalantly while you are trying to escape from him?  Here he is, daunting you with that signature smile he wears so very often. That is when reality slaps you right in the face. No matter how hard you plan, no matter how fast you run, there is no getting rid of him.

When your stamina runs out, a simple pull and push on your left wrist is enough to let you fall onto the ground panting. Even now, you still refuse to beg for mercy. You would take the cold grounds to the warmth of Childe’s embrace anyday. 

“Aw, burnt out already? Pathetic. Looks like we need to work on your stamina more. But this is not the place for exercise.”

“Look at me.” His slender but forceful fingers tilt your head up, making you look into those ocean blue orbs. There is anger present in his eyes, but those emotions are more a mixture of delight and that. His smile had also been replaced by a mocking smirk. “You, trying to leave me? Your sense of humor is...well, let’s just call it unique. Lucky for you, you amused me nonetheless.”

“I know what you’re thinking. How I’m a selfish jerk and you hate me. Why be so ungrateful? You get to live in luxury thanks to me, you know. I am selfish, yes, but look how stupid you are. I know you added something extra in my evening tea, my beloved.”

“Come now, we are going to do some exercises suited for a night like this once we’re back home. It is our one month milestone, after all. You had already given me your gift, it is only fair for you that I do the same.”

Childe is not making a sarcastic remark. The thrill of that chase was the best fun he had in months. And you are going to love his gift too, maybe not right away, but surely sometimes after. 

You have to mentally prepare yourself for the worst as he dragged you back to the prison, hopefully you’ll still be able to walk properly after whatever Childe got in store.

i wrote op-eds for my school paper when i was an undergraduate. it’s been a lifelong dream to publish an op-ed with a national news organization.

last week, i was livid and depressed and fired off a haphazard pitch. my first ever pitch. 

anyway. 

it’s been published! and i’m getting paid!  

i want to keep writing. i want to send better pitches. but i’ve accomplished a goal. 

and because it came in a week where i’m quitting my job of six years and starting a part-time job, i’m not properly excited. which sucks. i’m not sure how to celebrate this. 

anyway.

My #1 post of 2022

so we’ve refused more lockdowns because of the disruption to the economy.

what makes this disruption from rampant infection acceptable?

omicron still a dangerous variant of covid. it still puts the most vulnerable among us at risk -especially now with a more transmissible strain and no lockdown in place to prevent spread. it still puts an immense burden on the healthcare system.

this push to return to “normal” and “live with the virus” is reckless.

i’ve yet to have covid because i’ve given up a majority of my life for nearly two years - to keep my high risk self safe, to keep my high risk parents safe, to keep my community safe.

yes, i have a white collar job where i’ve been granted ada accommodations. but saying that doesn’t reveal the struggle of getting those accommodations (ada protects employers more than employees; did you know that employers can deny accommodations if the employer feels it places undue hardship on them?). it doesn’t reveal the reality of living, working, sleeping in one room for the majority of two years.

being chronically ill is not a privilege.

i’ve been told to stay home if i’m vulnerable, if i’m “scared.”

i’ve been told by the actions of millions and by the actions of people i love that my life is less valuable because of my chronic illnesses.

i’ve been told that it’s okay if i have to give up my live to stay safe, it’s okay if i merely exist and lose access to so many things that give my life meaning.

we can’t interfere with the return to normal for the abled.

am i asking you to not live your life as you wish? essentially - yes. for now - yes.

what makes your ability to live your life and pursue normal more important than my ability to live my life safely and pursue normal?

we should be striving for a return to normal that’s accessible for everyone - including the disabled and chronically ill communities. any other normal is unjust.

how do we get there? get vaccinated. get boosted. wear a quality mask. curb activities that aren’t essential. push for equitable global vaccine access. ask how you can help your high risk friends.

care about each other. care about healthcare workers. care about people like me. act for the collective.

yes, i’m angry. yes, this post will probably piss people off.

but i wanted to offer my truth, my reality for the past two years, my reality for the foreseeable future.

but part of the problem with hearing for nearly two years that my life is less valuable, that it’s okay for me to live a less fulfilling life is that i start to believe it.

and i want to be clear - i’m not faulting the workers who cannot stay home. i’m faulting capitalism. i’m faulting individualism. i’m faulting the system for ignoring this chance to reimagine and reinvent a better education system, a better healthcare system, a better economic system, a better collective society.

ive been drawing for a long time!! ever since I was able to hold a pencil really but I usually say since I was about 7. I started doing digital art when I was around 9 though!!! my first art program was the animal jam in-game paint studio LMAOOOOOO

honestly a lot of what inspired me to draw was watching speedpaints on youtube as a little kid and being just totally amazed at what i saw and wanting to be able to do that myself :O art youtube as a whole was also a big source of inspo for me i think it really helped to see how professionals drew when i was first learning the basics

for tips i would generally say that its always a good idea to use references when you draw!! i never used them at first so my art stayed pretty stagnant for a long time but after i started using them i started like RAPIDLY improving. and when i say reference i mean for more than just poses, like literally anything youre unsure of how to draw or what to draw its always a good idea to look up some references even just for inspo!! my main place to go is pinterest but im pretty sure i have some good refs saved on my blog under my #important tag if you wanna go look through those

my favourite thing to doodle is probably clothes/outfits!! it's sooooo fun I love just getting to sit down and make a cute outfit :D

im a bit of a slow artist lmao so most of my pieces I would say take an average of maybe 4-5 hours? though I've definitely drawn some things thay have taken <1 or 20+ hours lol

i think so too. his skin would be very unpredictable. some days he'll just get a nice tan, some days he'll burn so bad he gets blisters. sun spots, freckles, moles, beauty marks, scars. he has everything there is to have on his skin. such is life

AHHH I AGREE A LOT I SUPER AGREE. "running and fighting for freedom" freedom is such a huge thing for toby... "this is the last time i'll cry lullabies" im sure several times in his youth, he swore to god 'this is the last time someone takes xyz (power, joy, safety, etc) from me' . many times he was brought to tears and his dad beat it out of him. now he's stuck with swearing to god nobody will EVER take that shit from him ever again. im immediately inclined to say clocky or toby the second i see time and fire mentions. so ticciwork. my clocky is often a bit messy so she'd be pissed and angry and upset over the sort of war she's found herself in, especially as she sees toby just falling deeper into it. 'my god, was i oblivious?' when she finally realizes toby will always, always put Slenderman before her. frustrating. 'hell stays hungry for a world so weak' natalie is hungry for a good world, but she thinks everyone is too weak for goodness, meanwhile toby is hungry for power so he can make everyone else seem weak. etc. 'they only want you to bleed' they being slendy, operator, zalgo, etc etc etc... power, being a pawn, fighting, using humans as toys in a battlefield, etc etc.. yeah

i genuinely think nina is a really good influence on so many of the creeps. like theyre all assholes, traumatized, refuse to believe in the good in the world, etc etc. but nina is traumatized and still kickin. she comes in like ^_^ hello chat. and i think that, while its still important to feel the shitty feelings, it's really grounding to see someone whos just so .. able to be happy. idk. someone who SEEKS joy, rather than expects it to fall into their lap, and blames the world when it doesnt

there’s a lot of wattpad writers that i’ve noticed are coming to tumblr recently. due to that, here is a detailed list of things i’d like those people to know (because i’ve already seen all of these in the past few days </3)

here is a helpful thing about tagging triggers, please use it. also put content/trigger warnings at the top of your fics, especially if you don’t put that trigger in the tags.

(here is a list of common triggers, you don’t have to spend hours studying it but look it over at the least)

here is a carrd about tone indicators + why you should use them

put readmores if your post is long, i’m tired of scrolling through 12k word fics on my dash

there’s an option to put a readmore if you’re on desktop, but if you’re on mobile just type “:readmore:” on a line by itself and hit enter/return

plagiarism/reposting/tracing art is not okay in the slightest, you’ll get found out eventually and the only thing it does is cause the original creator stress (and you can see the time something was posted, so there’s no lying)

along with plagiarism is taking someone else’s idea without permission. if you see an idea you like and you want to do it, dm the writer and ask if you can

if you get permission you should also give credit for the idea to the author at the top of the fic/in an author’s note

there is also the issue with silent readers, which i could probably make another entire post about, but i’ll try to make this short:

people on wattpad are usually good about commenting on fics, we love that, bless you. however there is also the fact that wattpad shows how many people viewed and favorited a work

tumblr is completely different. a like is the least you can do, but reblogging is the only way a post actually gets shared. not wanting to clog up your follower’s dashes is an easy fix: set up a queue or schedule the reblogged posts

(reblogging isn’t reposting in any way, reposting is claiming something as your own and reblogging is saying “hi i like this and i want to show my friends! the creator is also really cool, look at them <3”)

and then there is the problem with people not reading blog rules or the writer’s about, they are there for a reason

i have my pronouns in my desc and i still get misgendered a lot, so please read “about the author”s as well. most of them aren’t even that long, 10 seconds is worth not accidentally upsetting your favorite writer

another big thing is age restrictions. there are so many 18+ or 16+ blogs that have people younger than that following/interacting with them and their posts

it’s uncomfortable for them if they find out you’re a minor + most of them will block or soft block you if you don’t have your age somewhere on your blog

and don’t write/reblog smut if you’re a literal fkn child. just don’t.

i wasn’t into anime whenever i was on wattpad but i just know there is cultural appropriation, please educate yourself

remember to be inclusive if you write x readers

when poc blush their skin doesn’t turn red, you can’t run your hand smoothly through their hair, not everyone is shorter than the character, so on and so on

also put whether or not the reader is fem, gn, or masc. and make sure you stick to that through the fic, i’ve read several fics where the “gender neutral” reader is called princess or something similar

TW: mentions of self-harm, mental illness, and unhealthy/ab*sive relationships (see? a tw is really simple)

i don’t know why but for some reason a lot of people from wattpad normalize and romanticize unhealthy things

i can’t tell you how many times i’ve come across fics that romanticize abuse (including where the abuser it the reader ~_~)

also uhm. i’ve not seen it on tumblr yet but whenever i was on wattpad there were a lot of fics that normalized things like self-harm to the point that being abused and having a mental illness was a quirky personality trait. spoiler: that is wrong on many different levels

some people don’t know what abuse is or isn’t i’m assuming, so here is a link to educate yourself on it

and please remember there is more than one type, i’ve seen a lot of psychological abuse being normalized and physical abuse being romanticized, but the thing is i don’t even think the writers know that
