250(ish) Favorite Arrowverse Episodes: Part 7: 100-76
Picked from „Arrow“, „Black Lightning“, „Supergirl“, „Legends of Tomorrow“, „The Flash“, „Barwoman“ Season 1+2 and „Superman & Lois“ Season 1+2. I did consider kicking „Superman & Lois“ of this list, but since it pretended to be part of the Arrowverse for its first two seasons I left it on here.
100. Armageddon Part 4 (The Flash 8x4)
155, Written by: Lauren Barnett, Directed by: Chad Lowe
"Thawne, what did you do? You're not The Flash, Allen. I am."
99. Ground Control to Sara Lance (Legends of Tomorrow 6x1)
83, Written by: James Eagan, Mark Bruner, Directed by: Kevin Mock
„See, my girlfriend's from another time.“
„ Oh, like the future?“ „No. Well, technically, yes. But she's from the future with a different timeline entirely. Now she lives in a totem. And I'm forced to be at peace with it.“
98. The Fixed Point (Legends of Tomorrow 7x10)
107, Written by: Matthew Maala, Paiman Kalayeh, Directed by: Maisie Richardson-Sellers
"Fixed point. Noun. An occurrence so pivotal to history that no time travel is allowed on or near it."
97. Emerald Archer (Arrow 7x12)
150, Written by: Marc Guggenheim, Emilio Ortega Aldrich, Directed by: Glen Winter
"Villains or vigilantes? Criminals or heroes? From Star City to Central City to Gotham City, Americans have debated this question. Do the ends justify the means? Does the law have to be broken to uphold it?"
96. The Quest for Peace (Supergirl 4x22)
87, Written by: Robert Rovner, Jessica Queller, Rob Wright, Derek Simon, Directed by: Jesse Warn
"The truth is meaningless. The people of Earth believe I am their savior. They needed a human hero, and I fulfill that need. Nothing will ever change their minds. Facts are irrelevant. All that matters is spin."
95. Seance and Sensibility (Legends of Tomorrow 4x11)
62, Written by: Grainne Godfree, Jackie Canino, Directed by: Alexandra La Roche
"You feel the energy in this room? It's like sitting on a keg of dynamite. You see, wakes are notorious soft spots where the supernatural meets the living world."

92. Goldfaced (The Flash 5x13)
105, Written by: Jonathan Butler, Gabriel Garza, Directed by: Alexandra LaRoche

91. Canary Cry (Arrow 4x19)
88, Written by:Wendy Mercile, Beth Schwartz, Directed by: Laura Belsey
„ Laurel Lance became a lawyer to help people who may have appeared helpless. She wanted to give a voice to the silent. But just being a lawyer wasn't enough. She wanted to do more for those people, and for this city. And she loved this city so much. By now, everyone knows that Laurel was killed in the Iron Heights prison riot. And while it's true that she was an assistant district attorney, that's not what she was doing there that night. Before she died, Laurel told me the truth: Laurel Lance was the Black Canary.“

You want to save the world and all you can do is just stand there holding the wrench. And I know the fear of being vulnerable, and I want to teach you some ways to handle that. But right now, I just want you to know that we're on the same team. We are the extraordinary humans in a family of superpeople, and we have to stick together."
87. O Brother, where art though? (Supergirl 4x15)
80, Written by: Derek Simon, Nicki Holcomb, Directed by: Tawina McKiernan
"Lex and Lena Luthor, teaming up to save Superman's best pal. What would Mother think?"
86. The House of L (Supergirl 4x16)
81, Written by: Dana Horgan, Eric Carrasco, Directed by: Carl Seaton
"This is a paradigm shift. Aliens are among us. And for the rest of human history, there will only ever be 'before Superman' and 'after'. I am protecting mankind from an extinction event. And if this pearl-clutching jury of my... peers... wants to put me behind bars for it, they are welcome to try. But know this. I will always have my thumb on the scales."
85. Luck Be a Lady (The Flash 4x3)
72, Written By: Sam Chalsen, Judalina Neira, Directed By: Armen V. Kervokian
"Becky, this isn't some higher power fixing a miscalculation. You have powers. And they're affecting everyone around you, making them feel as awful as you used to feel."
"I'm sorry about that. But, maybe it's just their turn. Maybe for once, everyone else can feel for a second how bad I felt my entire life."

„You were amazing today. How you handled those bad guys. How you handled yourself. You should be proud, Kara. I am. I'm sorry if I've been overprotective lately. When dad put me in charge of your safety, that job consumed me. But then I went away to college and-and I realized that I could be more than just Kara's older sister. But then I came home and I saw you and Kenny supering, and I was worried you were gonna mess things up. That I was gonna have to put my life on hold to help sort yours. But I was wrong. You can handle anything that comes your way.“

120, Written By: Thomas Pound, Jeff Hersh, Directed By: Danielle Panabaker
"Look, tonight's job was for Ralph Dibny because both parts of my identity have value. The same is true for you, only tonight I could've used your civilian half. What I'm trying to say is Barry Allen is just as important as the Flash. Try to remember that. I know I will."

2, Written by: Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Ali Adler, Directed by: Glen Winter
"Did he ever tell you what that 'S' means?" "The House of El." "Yes, but... it also stands for a Kryptonian phrase, our family motto. 'El mayarah.' It means, 'Stronger together.' You say people will see me the way they see Superman one day, but... I don't want to be a hero like him. My cousin, he's so used to going it alone. He doesn't know any other way. But I do. I see it now. You, Winn, my sister, Ms. Grant, even. You've all showed me that."
79. Left Behind (Arrow 3x10)
56, Written by: Marc Guggenheim, Eric Oleson, Directed by: Glen Winter

78. Legion of Super-Heroes (Supergirl 3x10)
52, Written by: Derek Simon, Eric Carrasco, Directed by: Jesse Warn

74, Written by: Keto Shimizu, James Eagan, Directed by: Ben Bray
„Dad, I am not a child! You can't just kill my friends anymore.“
76. The Climb (Arrow 3x9)
55, Written by: Jake Coburn, Keto Shimizu, Directed by: Thor Freudenthal
"I arrived the same year as Ta-er Al-Sahfer. She was a great warrior. You did not kill her. When you face the Demon, it will be my duty to bear witness. I have no desire to watch you die. Under our code, you have 12 hours to settle your affairs. The 13th hour, be at this place. This location is consecrated ground for the League. A place for the settlement of blood debts—if one survives the climb. If you do."

Kara talking to Cat about who is on the ship, but instead of saying that Mon-El is her boyfriend and Lena her best friend, Lena is her gf.
“So who’s up there?”
Kara’s stomach churns, because Cat always knows. How the hell does Cat always know?
“Oh please, we both know that Winslow is not capable of keeping his mouth shut,” Cat solves the mystery, and Kara’s stomach somersaults.
“It’s a good friend of mine.” She pauses and she keeps her arms crossed and she prays to Rao that this won’t be as scary as she’d imagined it to be. “And my girlfriend.”
She doesn’t look at her. Instead, she looks up at the sky. Toward Lena.
She can’t see Cat’s face, but she can hear her heartbeat skip. She can hear her heart rate speed up.
She plows into talking more, because she still can’t look at her. Still can’t, can’t, can’t. She sighs and she tosses her arms up.
“Maybe Alex and the president are right. Maybe it’s Supergirl’s responsibility to protect everyone. But all I can think about is the fact that the woman I love is trapped on that ship, and if we destroy it – “
Her voice falters and she prays for just a fraction of the strength Maggie had demonstrated when Alex was kidnapped.
“ – then she’s destroyed too, and that… that would break my heart.”
She sighs and she turns and she tries not to throw up, and she still refuses to look at Cat.
“It’s selfish.”
Cat objects – gently, gently, a slight tremor in her voice that Kara can’t quite place – before the word even finishes breathing its way out of her lips.
“No, no, it’s not selfish, Supergirl. It’s human.”
Kara turns to her, now, because Cat always knows – always knows exactly what’s wrong – and Kara wonders if she knows now, too, that Kara is struggling because if she were human, truly human, maybe Lena wouldn’t be in this mess, maybe –
“You’ve fallen in love, Supergirl, and that… that, as much as anything you’ve done, as much as any of the buildings or planes or people you’ve saved, means you belong here. You didn’t bring this fight here, Supergirl, and you certainly didn’t put your girlfriend up on that ship.”
“I could have stopped them from taking her – “
“I highly doubt there was anything you could have done. In my experience, Kara Danvers, when you want something done, if it’s at all possible, it gets done.”
“Kara Da – what – Ms. Grant, what are you – “
“You’re spluttering, dear, do mind that you don’t misplace your eyes if they pop any farther out of your head.”
“But – how did you – why would you – “
“Because I know you, Supergirl. I know you in all your forms. And I know that when you put your mind, your heart, behind something, you’re going to achieve it. You want to save your girlfriend?”
There’s a long, long pause, and Kara almost gathers the courage to look at Cat. Almost.
“Then she is the luckiest person on this planet, because she will be saved, and by the most heroic knight of our generation, no less. I will claim some credit, of course, both for grooming you and for this rousing pep talk.”
Kara can’t help but smile and Cat can’t help but return it, even if it’s a little sad on the edges.
“How’s Carter?” Kara blurts suddenly, because she realizes that the question’s been buzzing in the back of her mind for a while now, since she got his last letter and hadn’t had the time or energy to respond.
Since Alex.
“Well, you know, he enjoyed his time away with his mother, but I think we’re both ready to come back and expand our horizons right in the place we started.”
Kara’s eyes light up and Cat shakes her head softly.
“Another time, Supergirl. Chop chop. You have a woman to save. Not to mention a planet.”
Kara chuckles, almost more to herself than anyone else, and her voice is low, almost husky, when she turns to her and tells her, “I really missed your advice, Ms. Grant.”
Cat almost smiles. Almost indulges. Almost.
“And I’ve really missed giving it. Now shoo. Up up and away, no time to lose.”
Kara smiles, exhales hard, and uncrosses her arms, and Cat watches as she reaches them to the sky and positively soars.
She leans back on her hands and watches, watches, shaking her head and sighing to herself.
“That is still so hot,” she whispers, and she wonders if Supergirl’s superhearing can pick that up, and she wonders how she lived a single day without… this.

it aint retcon because we've known the writers don't know their own timeline for ages now lol. we know they meant that this was supposed to be at the early stages of their relationship, because that first scene was right after Kara thanks Lena for help with the alien fight club, and the scene in the restaurant was clearly meant to be soon after that. they just stupid lol
It is a retcon though. A retcon is new information that retroactively changes the interpretation of previously described and established events. The previous understanding of Kara’s and Lena’s relationship is that they became rather fast friends, trusting one another from the start with minimal to no resistance from either in building that friendship. Now, with these new scenes, the writers are imposing a new interpretation that Lena was originally hesitant and reluctant to become friends with Kara due to her pain from Andrea’s betrayal. Retcons aren’t always negative or shoddy. When done well, they can add deeper, more complex layers to characters’ story and relationships. The added dimension of Lena not wanting to put herself out there and trust someone on the level of friendship and Kara persistently finding a way into her life and heart regardless is so interesting and a new layer to their relationship we didn’t previously have.
However, not surprisingly, the Supergirl Writers make the mistake that haphazardous retcons often create by simultaneously and unnecessarily screwing with an established timeline. They could have added these scenes without firmly planting them alongside known points of time in the SG universe. The one that works against them the most is their impromptu first lunch date which is shown at the same time Cat is made Marsden’s Press Secretary which didn’t happen until after the Daxamite invasion (2x21/22). That completely negates the fact that Kara and Lena were already well established friends by the end of season 2, so much so that the first episode of season 3 involves Lena pleading with Kara to hang out with her because she misses her. Lena explicitly refers to Kara as her only friend in national city as early as 2x05 (only one week after Lena helped Kara with Roulette and told Kara she wasn’t interested in being friends apparently) and Kara visits Lena purely “as a friend” to comfort her when she’s being accused of helping Lillian and Metallo in 2x12 well before Cat is press secretary.
A good retcon fixes inconsistencies. A bad one creates them. Either way this is still 100% a retcon because they are changing the previous accepted interpretation of the development of their friendship.

Thoughts during 2x21 Resist
In no particular order:
• SANVERS BEING BADASS • Katie McGrath is giving me Morgana flashbacks in that black dress and I am here for it. • CATHERINE GRANT MY LOVE WELCOME BACK TO THE SHITSHOW…fix it please. •Is Cat flirting with the President? *reference to Marsdin’s husband* Is Cat flirting with the President? • Cat Grant was a party girl in college. confirmed. • Lena Luthor don’t need help from no man. • Lena has probably imagine how she would kill every single person on that Daxamite ship multiple times. • Why hasn’t the DEO offered Maggie a job yet? She’s basically an honorary agent by now. Poor Pam in HR has probably put in overtime dealing with all the paperwork for Maggie. • I knew Lillian had something up her sleeve but also the banter between Kara and her is lowkey my new BrOTP. • Cat looked at Guardian for .5 seconds and knew it was James… she knows Kara, she knows. • Lillian thinks Lena will turn to the dark side after she finds out about Kara being Supergirl, Honey your daughter already knows and doesn’t give two shits. • CAT WAS GONNA SAY SUPERGIRL LAUNCHING INTO THE AIR WAS HOT AND YOU CAN’T TELL ME OTHERWISE. •Cat Grant for President 2kInfinty

Fix it: Kara running to Lena after saving the ship
Everyone is saying it.
People Kara loves. On that ship.
About to be vaporized.
Everyone is saying it.
How Kara loves him. How Kara loves Lena.
And she does.
Love him.
He’s a remnant of her past, a taste of her old language, her old home, her old history – of people dead and long since gone – and, when he’s not trying to be her boyfriend, he’s fun. As a cousin-type thing.
But she also…
She also loves her. Loves Lena.
And that doesn’t feel the same, even in the slightest.
She suddenly understands why Maggie and Alex didn’t say they love each other – why she herself didn’t really understand that Maggie truly loved Alex – until Alex almost died a week ago.
Rao, was it only a week ago?
She understands, because she’s been denying her feelings for Lena for so long. And so hard.
Denying, because she can’t be that terrible of a friend to Lena. To abandon their friendship for… something else.
Something else that Kara hasn’t wanted to put to words, but Rao, it feels a lot like this thing called love.
She tells Cat that Lena’s her best friend.
And it’s true, but it isn’t.
Alex is her best friend.
Lena is her… her best something.
Something that Kara doesn’t want to say.
But when she sees her? When the door opens and their eyes find each other’s, immediately, instantly, perfectly?
Words don’t matter.
Hell, oxygen barely matters.
“Lena,” she breathes before anyone else can move. Before anyone else can act.
She brushes past his shoulder and she’s relieved not to hear it crack with the force of her movement, but she slows her body, steadies it, tugs her very fibers into herself so that she’s gentle, gentle, gentle, as she pulls Lena into her arms.
She doesn’t need words to swear she’ll never let her go.
Lena hugs her back, hard, trembling.
Kara doesn’t usually feel the need to hurt people, but Rao, does she want to hurt the woman who forced Lena into this dress, who forced Lena to tremble.
She pulls her back to look at her face, to assess her body for injuries the way Alex always unnecessarily does to her; or, more accurately, the way Alex always very necessarily does to Maggie.
“Are you hurt? What did she do to you? Why – “
Lena’s hands are on her biceps, but Kara stammers to a halt when she realizes that her eyes are fixed above Kara’s shoulder.
“You came,” she breathes to her mother, and Kara’s heart breaks at what she had Winn do, at what she had Winn prepare for.
Because it will – once again – break Lena if Lilian proves Kara’s precautions necessary.
And Kara will not, not, not allow it.
She takes Lena by the hand, and she turns back toward Lilian.
“She did,” Kara tells her, her voice as Supergirl low, bracing. Threatening. “And she’s going to get us all home safe. Aren’t you, Lilian?”
Lena catches the lilt in Supergirl’s voice, the threat, and her heart wavers but doesn’t sink.
Because her mother might be planning to betray Supergirl, and that is unacceptable.
It is unacceptable and it is unforgivable.
But still, she came.
And still, Supergirl is by her side, holding her hand.
Holding her hand.
She’ll process that bit later.
“Of course I came for my only daughter, Lena,” Lilian ignores Kara, and Lena tightens her grip in Kara’s hand.
“And so did you,” she turns to Supergirl, her eyes liquid.
“Always, Lena,” Kara tells her, and she’ll mean it every time.

Ok but what was going on with cat and the president?? Do you think that maybe we could have a backstory on that? Either way thanks
She’s not supposed to sleep with her residents.
Then again, she’s not supposed to share pot brownies with them either.
And she can’t, if truth be told, say which comes first.
Wanting to sleep with Cat Grant, or just wanting to see if she can experience what these humans swear is a great high.
She gets a boyfriend, though – a boyfriend that is much safer than a girlfriend, because this planet is hard enough to grapple with, to blend into, and she doesn’t need to give the world any more reason to scrutinize her – and she keeps hearing flutters that he’s going to propose soon.
Cat doesn’t approve, and she’s not quiet about it.
She doesn’t approve because “oh come to your senses, Liv, you know you can do so much better than signing yourself away to some oaf of a senior” and because “who’s going to stay up all night watching C-SPAN with me if not you?” and because “I’m not saying that a woman’s worth is in her beauty, you know I’m not, but you’re just too hot for him, darling.”
Cat doesn’t approve, and instead of making Olivia feel alienated, it makes her feel closer. More secure. Cared for.
Because lord, does Cat care for her.
Cares for her when their study sessions last too late into the night, and she crashes in Cat’s bed, and Cat can do nothing but try not to fidget too much all night, try not to wake her.
Cares for her when the Student Union election board tries to smear her name, and Cat goes full tilt in the school paper to clear it. And, of course, Cat wins, so Olivia wins.
Cares for her when her boyfriend, now fiance, throws himself at Cat, not Olivia, when his team won the championship that night; cares for her when Olivia dumps the man, not the woman, and Cat holds her all night while she cries, and not once does she offer a cleverly-worded I told you so.
Just as she cares for her now – scales and all – and Olivia’s second stomach still flips in that old familiar way, because Cat Grant is still the stuff of legend, and Cat Grant is still by her side.
And somehow, that means they’ll get out of this alive.

Could you do a fix it fic where kara and Lena finally admit their feelings for each other (and lena knows that she is supergirl) and lena stays with her on the ship please? Your fics are the best and honestly you should write the show!
This picks up from here: https://queercapwriting.tumblr.com/post/160717018764/fix-it-kara-running-to-lena-after-saving-the-ship
Lilian underestimates her daughter.
She always has.
She probably always will.
Underestimates her because she sees her.
She sees the way she clings to Supergirl’s hand; the way her entire body pressed into their hug; the way her entire body is relaxed, now, safe, now, that the caped alien nuisance is by her side.
She sees her, but she fails, utterly, to understand her. To comprehend her.
To truly feel for her. With her.
Because she underestimates Lena.
Underestimates her knowledge. Her perception. The depth of her love, her appreciation, for Supergirl. For Kara Danvers.
She wants the news that her two friends in National City are, in fact, one friend, to break her.
She wants it to make her hate Kara. Hate Supergirl.
And that break will be the clean one Lilian’s been searching for, to use to weld Lena by her side.
But she doesn’t understand her, doesn’t comprehend her, doesn’t feel for her. With her.
So she doesn’t know that Lena already knows.
Lena already knows exactly whose hand she’s holding.
Knows exactly who this woman in a cape is.
Her hero. Kara Danvers.
Her friend. Supergirl.
Her love. Both. The same. One.
So when Kara thrusts Lena protectively behind her back, because at the slightest nod from Lilian, Cyborg Superman lunges to try to wrench the two of them apart, Lena knows exactly who is protecting her.
Who is fighting for her.
She knows exactly who is throwing punches and sweeping up her cape to protect Lena from hellfire.
She knows exactly who is punching and heat vision-ing into unconsciousness the man who hurt the woman she loves. The man who hurt the woman her sister loves.
No more. No more.
Kara rounds on Lena’s mother, and she doesn’t need Lena’s whimper to stop her from killing her.
She won’t break Lena, not like that. Not ever.
“Take those two and Lena back to the surface,” she tells the man restraining Lilian Luthor.
“What? Why? You can’t stay here, the DEO has that cannon thing trained on this place – “
“I have to give your mother a chance. All of them. I can’t just leave them to die without another chance.”
He doesn’t argue nearly enough, but he shuts Lena’s mother up effectively enough when she starts to scoff.
He doesn’t argue nearly enough, because he says he’s a superhero because he loves a superhero, but he loves his comfort more.
But Lena? Lena won’t take a step toward him. And she certainly won’t look at her mother.
“Lena,” Supergirl prompts, her voice softening as she turns to her, blocking her mother from her view. “Lena, you have to go with them. The DEO can protect you – “
“We don’t have time for this, Supergirl, the DEO is about to blow this place – “
“I know, I know – he’s right, Lena, you need to go, now.”
Lena tilts her head and stares, like she can’t quite comprehend what’s happening, what Kara is saying.
“Not without you,” she says, like it’s the most obvious conclusion in all the multiverse.
“Lena, you can’t – “
“Lena, be reasonable, you – “ But Lena has grabbed the device from Supergirl’s hand, and she’s fiddled with it with the speed of a genius, and without another word, without another blink, she and Kara are the only two remaining.
“Lena, what did you do? I can’t let you stay, it’s too risky – “
“Your sister won’t fire a weapon that will kill you, Kara.” She says it soft and she says it scared. But god, god, god, she says it.
Kara nearly reaches for glasses that aren’t there and she desperately tries to pfft. “What? How do you – “
“Because she loves you, of course.”
Kara blanches. Everyone keeps saying she loves Lena… And she does. Rao, she does. Just not in the way they were all saying. She thinks Alex might know, but that’s not the point, not right now…
“No, I meant how did you – “
“Because those eyes, Kara Danvers? Will always be heroic to me.”
The ship rumbles and Lena staggers forward, into Kara’s arms, and just this once, the multiverse is working in their favor.
Kara breathes out and Lena breathes in her breath, and time is frozen like the world isn’t about to end, like the planet below isn’t on fire.
“Lena, I… I’m sorry I lied, I didn’t want to, I just – “
“No, Kara, this isn’t… that’s not why I told you, I’m not… I’m not angry. There are many kinds of lies, Kara Danvers, and the ones you have to weave in your life? I imagine they’ve only ever caused you more pain than they’ve caused anyone else. And you bear it so beautifully, so bravely, I…”
Kara’s lips part and her breath hitches and her eyes travel to Lena’s lips, to Lena’s chest.
“Thank you for coming to rescue me,” Lena finishes softly, and Kara reaches slow, tentative, terrified, exhilarated fingers to her face.
“I will always come for you,” she whispers, and Lena is too overcome by the burning in Kara’s eyes, by the intensity of the woman’s gaze, to even crack a smirk at the unintended pun.
Lips hover close to lips, and neither is sure who tilts forward first, but Kara is sure that Lena tastes vaguely of hope and loss and stale ship air and Lena is sure that Kara tastes of wind and ash and sky.
Both are sure that the other tastes perfect.
“Well isn’t this the scandal?” Rhea’s voice makes them both jump. “My son’s wife-to-be and my son’s worthless girlfriend, together on his wedding night.”
“You’ve lost, Rhea. There won’t be a wedding night. There won’t be any obliterated hospitals. You’ve lost,” Lena practically snarls, and Kara gulps at her intensity, at her fire, at the fact that those perfect lips were just on hers.
Rhea is chuckling and Kara is clenching her fists, is shifting in front of Lena.
“They’ll blow this place, Rhea. Don’t think that they won’t. You can choose to end this, now, and leave this planet, or you can choose to vaporize with us. And what, you think that’s funny?”
“What I think is funny, Kara Danvers, is that you seem to think I only have one way to defeat you.”
Lena gasps before Kara sees him, before Kara takes the brunt of his blow.
Her stomach contorts when she blinks up at her cousin, clearly controlled somehow.
It’s bad enough that she loves him so much.
But at least it’s not Alex this time.
“Lena, stay back,” she shouts, and Rhea chuckles as Lena scrambles to obey, stolen gun in hand, ready.
Ready to defend the woman she loves, as the woman she loves defends her.

Can you please fic sanvers like crawling in air vent things in the deo and just being cute idk I just need some fluff
She knows Maggie is sore. She knows Maggie’s got a bruised rib.
She knows because Maggie doesn’t wince often, but when Alex hailed her on the radio she gave her before Maggie insisted on going back out there with James, she heard the wince in Maggie’s voice.
But god, she would rather Maggie by her side – safe, safe, because she will die before she lets Maggie do the same – than out there, alone.
And Maggie keeps up with her. Just a little bit slower, just a little bit stiffer.
Every time Maggie jumps out of one vent to access another, on the ground below, Alex rakes her eyes up and down her body. Checking her for further injuries. For extra pain.
And, if she had to admit it, because damn.
Just… damn.
A very trusted, very sexy agent on her six.
“See something you like, Danvers?” Maggie asks once when she catches Alex watching her while she straightens up, while she catches her breath.
“There’s another four letter word starting with an L I could think of, Sawyer,” Alex doesn’t miss a beat, and Maggie grins, because if anyone can make her dimples come out in the middle of a war, it’s this woman.
It will always be this woman.
“That so, Alex?” she flirts, her voice honey.
“That’s so, Maggie,” Alex flirts right back, their lips touching, their lips parting.
“Mission.”
“War zone,” they murmur at the same time as they pull away, both their bodies keening from the loss.
They get back to it – everyone’s lives depend on it – but it’s not the last time.
Though the next time they stop to flirt, it’s because Alex catches Maggie looking at her instead of the other way around.
Or, more specifically, Alex catches Maggie staring at her ass.
She turns to check on her as she crouches and crawls through the last vent, and Maggie’s tongue is on her lips, and her eyes are decidedly not assessing tactical situations around them.
“Eyes front, soldier,” Alex chides with a grin, and she hears the smile in Maggie’s chuckle.
“Oh, I’ve got no problem keeping my eyes front, Acting Director Danvers.”
Alex pauses and Maggie puts a comforting hand on her calf. “He’s gonna be just fine, Alex.”
“I love you, you know that?” Alex turns to tell her.
“I do. You show me every day, Alex Danvers. I hope I show you, too.”
“You always have.”
“Always will too, Alex. I promise.”

Maybe Alex getting a pep talk from Cat? Love those two characters so much and hardly interact! And it would make my life if you incorporate Cat knowing and giving approval of the wonder that is Sanvers.
She remembers the girl from random visits to CatCo, and she remembers her from that awful night with Myriad.
She remembers the way Supergirl had looked at her, had trusted her. Had loved her.
The same way Keira had looked at her. Trusted her. Loved her.
Alex Danvers was the last piece Cat needed to confirm to herself that her protege was, in fact, a superhero.
Because Supergirl was Alex’s sister. And Alex’s sister was Kara.
And anyway, those eyes.
Those eyes.
She remembers Alex Danvers, and something’s different about her now. It’s not just her hair and it’s not just her – oh. Oh. That’s it. That’s the different thing.
Because Alex is kissing a war-worn woman in the corner of the bar, desperate and needy and full, god, so full of love.
The woman heads back out into the war, and Alex can do nothing but watch her go, but wish her safe, but want her alive.
She keeps her back to the rest of the bar for a few moments too long, and Cat thinks she sees Alex’s shoulders start to tremble.
“It’s Alex, isn’t it?” she strides up to her, and Alex immediately straightens and turns on her heel.
“Yeah.”
“Such a soldier,” Cat observes, intrigued, because even when Supergirl tries, she can never pull of soldier.
But her sister apparently can. And quite well, at that.
Even though the woman who just ran off to go save the world – to go resist – seems to quite melt this soldier.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Alex snaps, and Cat doesn’t flinch, because Cat understands.
“Simply that you seem awfully close to running after your girlfriend – and you have quite excellent taste, by the way, she seems lovely, and she’s certainly brave – and I know that Supergirl needs you here. That we all need you here.”
Alex stares down at her for a long, fierce moment, like she’s trying to decide to light into her for all the late nights she’s ever put her sister through or to break down and sob into her arms.
She shoots for somewhere in the middle.
“Maggie would be better at this than me. The leadership stuff. I’m just good for shooting people.”
“That’s not what your commanding officer thinks of you, is it? And really, Alex, from the way your sister talks, it seems like you were both raised to have more confidence in yourselves than that.”
Something flashes behind Alex’s eyes, and she swallows before she speaks.
“Kara and I were raised with somewhat… different standards.”
“Yes, yes, I know, Krypton and all that.”
Alex almost lays hands on her, but Kara trusts her, Kara trusts her, Kara trusts her.
“What are you – “
“Oh please, dear, for someone smart enough to get to where you are in life so young, surely you have to realize that glasses are the most ridiculous disguise someone could come up with.”
Alex laughs wetly. “That’s what Maggie says.”
Cat smiles and nods slowly, approvingly. “As I said. Good taste. Now, you can fight the fight with your own resources in here, or you can sulk in the corner of a very well stocked bar and let us do the resisting for you. But I don’t think that’s who you are, Alex Danvers. I don’t think that’s who you ever want to be.”
“It’s not,” Alex tells her, and she starts nodding softly to herself.
“So come on then, chop chop. To planning.”
Alex fights down a grin. “Cat,” she says, and Cat raises an eyebrow. Alex shrugs unapologetically. “I’m not going to call you Ms. Grant.”
“Very well then, what is it?”
“Thank you.”
“Well yes of course, dear, when the world is exploding around me, I have nothing if not an arsenal of speeches lying in wait.”
Alex shakes her head and squares her shoulders, readying herself for the fight Cat’s been pepping her for.
“No. I mean, for protecting Kara. For loving her. Thank you.”
Cat studies Alex’s face for a long moment before nodding slowly.
“And thank you for exactly the same.”

There had to be more said between Maggie and Alex when they saw each other were okay or before Maggie went back out with essentially no protection. I would ask for a fix it of after the whole conflict, but there is no after, so I feel like I just have to wait. Thank you for being you!
Her stomach is in knots.
Her stomach is in knots, and not just from her flight out the window.
Not just from her terror, from the screams resonating through her head, even though the bar is quiet.
Her stomach is in knots, because the phone line disconnected, and Maggie, Maggie.
Maggie.
Maggie loves her.
And they only just started this thing.
She can’t imagine what her sister’s going through.
She and Lena haven’t even started their thing at all.
She can’t let Kara be afraid she’s losing Clark, too.
“Maybe Superman’s out there right now, fighting on the streets.”
“If he is, I didn’t see him.”
It’s the only voice she’s ever wanted, the only voice she’s ever needed.
The only voice that’s ever coursed through her veins and woven into her skin and stitched up her heart.
“Maggie,” she breathes, and she runs.
Runs, and Maggie walks, and Maggie holds her hands up, holds her hands open, her face a map of pain, her face a map of ragged relief, her face a map of I love you, I love you, come here, let me hold you, I love you, I love you, I love you.
Alex doesn’t wait – she can’t. She takes Maggie’s face between her hands and she kisses her, tasting ash and tasting metal and tasting war on love’s lips.
Maggie holds her by her elbows – Maggie always holds her by her elbows – and Alex fights not to swoon, fights not to break, because if this woman’s lips keep kissing hers, she’ll never be able to fight, to kill, to die.
Though not dying would be good.
Her hands run over Maggie’s body and her eyes follow suit, checking for injuries, checking for breaks, checking for scars that will only grow on the inside.
She’s not armed, save for a gun that Alex can tell is out of bullets.
She must have run out of ammo.
She must have fought hand-to-hand to get here, at least some of the way.
She must have lived hell.
She must still be in hell, except Alex’s hands are on hers.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” she exhales for the first time since the attack, because she knows that they’ll talk later, knows that Maggie will cry later, knows that they’ll both break later.
Because there has to be a later, dammit. There has to be.
“I’m so glad that when things look their worst, we both thought to run straight to a bar,” Maggie deflects, and no one else could get Alex to smile while the world is ending.
No one but this woman. God, god, this woman.
This woman who insists on heading back out with James – with Guardian – after keeping a close ear across the bar on Lilian’s conversation with Alex, while running over strategy with James, with Winn.
Running over who they saw die on the way over here.
Running over which streets are likely to have the most children huddled in the rubble; running over which streets are likely to need them the most.
She keeps half an ear with Alex’s conversation, and the other half with a Pulitzer Prize-winning superhero and his genius IT support.
And she insists on leaving again. Without armor.
Without even her kevlar.
Alex didn’t have any weapons in that damn tank.
Alex held on.
And dammit, so will she.
Because there are other people who can’t.
And she’ll go save them. She has to.
And Alex knows.
Alex knows, just like Maggie had known there was no stopping Alex from storming the DEO by herself.
Alex knows, but god, does she hate it.
“Maggie – “
“Don’t argue, Danvers,” she interrupts, but it’s soft, and it’s intimate, and it’s resigned, and it’s loving, and it makes James look down at his shuffling feet and swallow bile.
“I’m not arguing, Maggie, I know you have to… I know, I just… we need that lifetime of firsts, you understand me? Take this – “ She slips her a radio to replace her fritzing phone. “And don’t you dare do anything but come back here in one piece. Gertrude’s going to need both her moms, alright? Both of us.”
“I’ll get her back safe, Alex,” James tells her, but they all know that there can be no promises.
“Please, Olsen, I’ll get you back safe,” Maggie jests, but there’s no laughter in her eyes.
“I love you, Alex Danvers,” she whispers, and she rises onto her tip toes to kiss her like she’ll never kiss her again. She kisses her with her entire body, with her entire mouth, with her entire being.
And Alex kisses her back.
Kisses her like she should have kissed her the night she told her not to wait up for her.
Because god, they never could tell when their worlds would end, could they?
“I love you, Maggie Sawyer,” she breathes, and it’s a promise.
Because I love you?
I love you is a beginning, and this, she promises, will be theirs.
