Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta

This has spoilers for Vegeta in Daima so you will want to avoid reading anything beyond the first sentence of this until you have caught up. Why does Vegeta's SSJ3 form look different than Goku's and Gotenks' versions of it? In the case of Goku and Gotenks, SSJ3 gives them a hair style that looks like a golden Raditz-esque design. However, in Vegeta's case, his hair still stands up which I find strange since Gotenks has a similar hair style to Vegeta, but it follows the Raditz-esque pattern.

Well, bear in mind that Gotenks also has Goten in there, so he likely influences that a bit too. There are differences even there though. Gotenks has almost more of a smooth, straight back sort of look, which is kind of an extension of what happens to his hair when he goes Super Saiyan. It almost grows out of the back of the hair as opposed to simply going straight up, and does so even further in SSj3.

Goku's, while having a similar basic design, looks a bit more wild and unkempt, like his own natural hair.

And Vegeta's is also a similar extension of his own hairstyle, but embiggened and still pulling more to the rear.

So while they do follow similar base design concepts, they also are adapted to give each character a distinct look that adheres to their own natural appearance. And frankly, Toriyama probably felt better making this form a bit more visually distinct since he wasn't the one who'd have to be drawing it for a ton of panels. lol

I like the distinctions being clear though, honestly.
