Hi,i hope you don't mind I'm asking. How do you feel about Chihaya's development lately? I mean,when i first read chihayafuru,i really liked her& was rooting for her.But somewhere along the way, Chihaya became rather..bland? I mean, her development, for me, isn't as interesting as, say, Taichi, Shinobu or Suo. It almost felt like sensei kind a lost interest in Chihaya. Now im not sure I'm rooting for her anymore. With the ending looming, will sensei be able to develop Chihaya more so than now?

Hmhmhm, to be honest I think that you are thinking that Chihaya is stagnating because the current arc is rather slow and is indeed focusing on the most difficult characters to develop in the series. 

I mean, Arata? He’s probably the one lacking the most development out of the whole cast and that’s rather strange, considering he was once supposed to be the main guy. x)

We got more insights into Suou’s character than Arata’s, but his issues weren’t fully targeted either. 

As such, this is kinda off-topic, but I just don’t see a satisfying ending for the competition between him and Arata for now, because Arata winning would be boring, but at the same time the story does call out for someone to finally beat Suou (that’s why Taichi winning against Arata in the challenger matches would have made so much more sense, but let’s not get back on that).

As for Shinobu, honestly she may as well be further behind than the rest of them. 

Not because she’s as bland (development-wise) as Arata (on the contrary, we saw her going through multiple hardships), but because her emotional growth has been greatly impacted by all the expectations that she’s had to carry on her shoulders over the years and there is a real need to unload all of that. 

In comparison, Chihaya still needs development of course, but she’s the most stable & developed of them all in this competition, in my opinion. xD

This is what the final competition is calling though: more developments for the four of them and the one who figures things out for themselves first will win.

Suou needs to finally be beaten so that he can start seeing himself as a strong player who enjoys playing this game for what it is, not for what it makes him, or for how others despise see him (Taichi, where are u).

Shinobu needs to accept and believe in the support her family will probably eventually shower her with. Maybe she’ll get it once she faces the support that Chihaya is currently getting by her numerous friends and family? Anyway that will also surely trigger a change in her mindset @ karuta, because cards can’t replace friendships with actual people.

Arata is the one I’m the most worried about to be quite honest, because as I said above, I find he’s the one lacking the most development. 

His strength in Karuta is hardly ever discussed, his motivations hardly ever tackled or doubted (I mean, it’s great that it’s how he relates to his grandpa, but come on, there has to be more to that) and he kinda needs to learn about the guys he calls his best friends outside of the Karuta world. 

I have no idea how he’s supposed to beat Suou with an explanation that’s more than “well it’s Arata and his dream is to become the Meijin  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” but I guess we’ll see in due time.

Maybe the best ending for this competition would be Suou barely winning against Arata, showing his family what a great player he is, but learning to enjoy Karuta for what it is and still not retiring (imagine the board’s faces xDD). 

This would in return lead Arata to ponder on what he’s lacking to become the Meijin, because playing since childhood and having a grandpa who was an eternal Meijin can’t exactly be said to be enough, in my opinion.

As for Chihaya... I think that what’s left for her is to manage reaching Shinobu (since that’s what she wants to do, because Shinobu is literally drowning in loneliness on her little peak of fame), without forgetting about the things that she enjoys in life outside of this competition. 

Chihaya greatly isolated herself to prepare for the Queen matches and we were showed that it affected her. On top of that, the key element for her to get herself together is still missing (Taichi, whenever u ready), but she’ll go back to being the joyful young woman that she used to be, I have no doubt. 

Romantic development however is yet another piece of a doubtful cake and I’m not sure I want to address it in my answer right now, haha. xD

TL;DR I don’t have a problem with Chihaya’s development lately, especially when compared to Shinobu’s or, particularly, Arata’s. Romance is definitely another topic though. x))

Of course, Taichi got the best development in the entire series so it’s hard to compare, but Taichi is meant to be a trigger for at least Suou and Chihaya (and maybe even Arata, who knows) at this point. :)

World's End Harem TV Anime Announces October 8 Premiere Date in Japan

    The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of LINK (story) and Kotaro Shouno (arts)'s sci-fi erotic suspense manga Shumatsu no Harem / World's End Harem announced today that it is set to premiere on TOKYO MX (25:05), BS Fuji (27:01), and AT-X (21:30) on October 8, 2021.

    15-second new CM to announce the premiere date:

    Prior to the TV premiere, an advance screening and the voice cast members' talk show will be live-streamed online for free on the TV anime's official YouTube channel and Twitter from 17:00 (JST) / 01:00 (PST) on September 25, 2021. The talk show will be hosted by Taichi Ichikawa (Reito Mizuhara), Haruka Shiraishi (Mirai Suo), Shizuka Ishigami (Neneko Isurugi), and Ayana Taketatsu (Karen Kamiya).

  The talk show part will be archived on the YouTube official channel from September 26 to October 8, but the anime part can only be viewed once during the live-streaming.

          Yu Nobuta (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear) serves as director, alongside the series composition writer Tatsuya Takahashi (The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls) and the anime character designer Miyabi Ozeki (Seven Mortal Sins). Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ co-work on anime production. The anime will also be simulcast on Crunchyroll.

    Synopsis:

  The time is near future-Tokyo, Japan in 2040. Reito, a young man suffering from an intractable disease, vows to reunite with his childhood friend Erisa and decides to "cold sleep" to cure her illness. When he wakes up five years later, the world was undergoing a major transformation. The MK (Male Killer) virus kills 99.9% of men on the planet. The ground was a super harem with 5 billion women for every 5 men.

  Only five men, "Numbers," are resistant to the MK virus. One of them, Reito, is required to "mate" for the survival of the remaining women and humankind. Harem life waiting for the world after the pandemic. At the same time, Reito is involved in a global conspiracy over Numbers. Can he overcome the temptation and save the world?

Without Suo around, he’d taken up deep cleaning as a way to make his apartment feel like new, to feel like only his again. He’d obviously done a mediocre job, which was why he still found traces of Suo between couch cushions, in junk drawers, in squeaky floorboards, in empty cupboards, in his tea kettle.

It made sense for Suo to be back when he’d never really left.

Maybe it was guilt—that he was in such a piss poor mood for the holiday, that he was taking it out on Suo as though he hadn’t invited Suo out. Maybe he didn’t want to be here. Maybe he did, and that was somehow worse.

Do you like Chihayafuru? I'm on S3 and omggggg I love it sm 😭 rooting for Chihaya x Taichi all the way! But I love else everyone too 💓

ahhh yes, i'm a huge chihayafuru fan! along with fruits basket it is probably my favorite manga ever :')) the anime is wonderful and i hope you'll continue reading after finishing it, as the story gets sooooo good. my favorite characters are arata, taichi, and suo! my favorite ships are suo/taichi, chihaya/arata, and arata/taichi, although i'm a big multishipper and get hyperfixated on different ships depending on my mood haha.

btw i do have several chihaya/taichi fics if you're wanting to read any! i'd recommend this one and this one as they don't contain any manga spoilers :)
