does he have adhd?
submit your own characters here to be featured!
reason: okay what inspired me to submit this to your blog was i had an actual dream. about submitting johnny test to a blog like this. though for some reason it was more "who is more adhd" blog and it somehow pit johnny test against...i don't remember sin kiske from guilty gear or something and honestly those characters would be a tie. but ANYWAY. johnny test has EVIDENCE that the character is adhd. he is stated to be incredibly smart if he applies himself, which is LITERALLY such a common adhd trait. this is a trait i myself have (am auDHD specifically): i am literally not good at and pretty much don't or can't apply myself to anything BUT my specific Area, which in my case is anything humanities related, whether it be sociology, area studies, or plain ol' english literature or creative writing. johnny test has a SIMILAR plotline with this in like...i believe season 1? where the teacher guy is like...johnny you have to do woodworking or else you'll fail and johnny's like I DON'T WAAAAAAAAAAANNAAAAAAAAA DO WOODWORKING and the teacher's like look kid you've got talent for it you've just gonna apply yourself, and when he applies himself, i believe he gets a b or an a? which is a really good grade (either of them) for not paying attention much to either! again, i haven't watched that specific season of johnny test in years. but trust me. johnny test has adhd. like even his fourth wall breaking jokes in the series are TEXTBOOK adhd "not taking anything, including the plot of this episode, seriously unless your life is in danger" okay. johnny. test. is an adhd. icon.

Doreen Green/Squirrel Girl from Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors
Reasoning: "She has this absolutely natural romantically oriented behavior towards Kamala all throughout the movie, almost like they're at least dating or Doreen and Kamala have feelings for each other. Her feelings for Rayshaun Lucas/Patriot are very tacked on and unnatural, and they literally feel more like best friends in different grades than her and Kamala, who have special nicknames for each other ("MM" meaning "Miss Marvel", "KK" meaning "Kamala Khan" from Doreen's side towards Kamala, "DG" meaning Doreen Green and "SG" meaning Squirrel Girl from Kamala's side towards Doreen), and Doreen and Kamala's confrontation about Kamala being an Inhuman (basically, when Inhumans were Bargain Bin Avengers) felt like a messy lesbian breakup before Doreen hugged Kamala and told her she was terrified of never seeing her again. Reason why I think Doreen should be a lesbian (because Kamala is bi to me): 1.) Tippy Toe is a lesbian. My brain told me so. And 2.) Silly characters should be allowed to be lesbians too! Why are the lesbian characters always serious? I have a few lesbian facets and alters who relate to the "joke character" stereotype of multiple types of characters, so there's GOTTA be other lesbians who feel represented by joke characters too! Joke character lesbians, RISE UP! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT YOUR BUTTSMACK TAUNTS! (Attached is a picture of Doreen Green, our system's favorite Joke Character Lesbian, and Tippy Toe, her pet squirrel lesbian. Thank you.)" ( @sunkern-plus)

Wow, I sure hope my pals don't mind my silliness!(My pfp is a Sunkern with a Fanta Sunkist and two big human hands)
I just really wanted to make that joke! Anywho, I went through with my last post and decided to make a second blog that will be used just as a dumping ground for whatever characters I find. I'm sure I will swing between babbling and being too embarrassed all over again to say anything. It is @microwavedelivery . I am keeping the microwave theme.

Chapter 4- Part 1
So, before anything else- we’re going back to Seacrest’s garden. Julia’s an Electric-type user, and right now we don’t have a lot of good answers to those and I doubt we’ll be getting a Ground-type right now. So, a Grass-type (and maybe an Electric-type of our own, but that’s a whole other thing) is our best bet right now.
What to expect from Julia…well, I joked about her using an Electrode before, but I sincerely do think she’ll have an Electrode on her team. Given she’s a cheerleader and this game has Pokémon up to Gen VII, I’m also expecting her to have Pom-Pom Oricorio as well. I mean- it’s not only Electric-type, it’s a cheerleader bird! That’s like- perfect for a character like Julia! I’ll be surprised (and disappointed) if she doesn’t have Pom-Pom Oricorio, if anything.
Also, again- probably not gonna be able to get a Ground-type right now, but even if I were to have one, I’d expect Julia’s team to have one or two Air Balloon-holders or at least one Pokémon with Levitate (Rotom? A member of the Tynamo line?). Maybe a Pokémon that knows Magnet Rise as well?
Not to mention what the game’s main page said about terrain effects being a prominent thing- I’m expecting there to be a lot of (if not permanent) Electric Terrain. That means an even greater boost to Electric-type attacks and no Sleep. Terrifying! But outside of all that…I don’t know what else I could expect. So, let’s just focus on the type aspect for now and find ourselves a Grass-type.
Oh, and it’s raining today! If I use Riptide in any battles, that’ll be helpful…or I’ll get blasted if I go up against a Water-type on the opposing side. Weather effects work both ways, folks!
Now- time to touch some grass again, this time in an advanced way! There’s bound to be at least one species of Grass-type in these patches. I won’t be picky!
A…Sunkern? I mean- okay, fair enough, it’s definitely a Grass-type. I doubt I’m gonna be getting a Sun Stone anytime soon so no evolving it right now, but its pre-evolution moveset should work for what we need.
Glare’s at a much higher level than Sunkern here, but one Bite shouldn’t kill it, right?
I don’t know if I like its health being in the yellow, though- Poké Balls tend to work better the lower a Pokémon’s health, after all. This alone wouldn’t be an issue, but I still only have the one (1) Poké Ball, so if this doesn’t work, then- goodbye, Sunkern encounter. I really should have brought Gullet with, Sleep via Yawn would have worked really well for catching a new Pokémon.
Well, nothing to do now but just throw the Ball and hope for the best.
There we go, success after all! Oh boy, I am- not gonna be buying a new Poké Ball until Xera gets some more money. If we see an event Pokémon, then we can go get one, but until then we’ll just…vibe without Poké Balls.
Now let’s say hello to Summer the Sunkern, our current best defense against Julia’s Electric-types! As soon as I level him up some more!
Oh?? What have we here?? Early Bird as an Ability??
For those not in the know- Early Bird is Sunkern’s Hidden Ability. At long last, now I am the one using Pokémon with Hidden Abilities (besides Riptide)!
But before we do some level grinding…I just noticed that there’s this other big building right before the entrance to the main part of Peridot Ward, which I didn’t notice before. Time to head in and see what we can find.
A Skitty? Hello? Event? Pardon??
Nooo, not the kitty!! D: What’s Xera supposed to do to help? Find an item? Use an item? She’s got Potions and an Oran Berry, but with no prompt to do anything, like- what needs to be done?
Maybe one of these other NPCs will have something to say?
I can’t even be surprised by this point- I’m sure we’ll fight them once we head north.
Ah, Inkay, such a unique little squid thing. I remember back when I was first playing through Pokémon Y, trying to complete the PokéDex, and I was soooo confused on how to evolve Inkay. I was just leveling it up and up, higher and higher, until a friend of mine figured out the “turn the 3DS upside down” thing and told me. It makes sense that a game like Reborn- which is meant to be played on a PC instead of a handheld device- would alter the way Inkay evolves to account for the different hardware.
But the way it’s explained here, it’s…weird. What’s that supposed to mean? “If you startle it while it has the chance to evolve, it will actually go through with it.” Is that supposed to imply Inkay evolves, like…the opposite way Pokémon usually evolve? You know, like- you usually cancel an evolution by pressing the B button (or the desktop equivalent), startling the Pokémon. Does this mean that, in order to evolve Inkay, you need to press the B button, otherwise the evolution won’t go through?
That…actually kinda makes sense, what with Inkay’s whole topsy-turvy” theming. What better way to adapt that to a desktop Pokémon game by reversing the way evolution works in that way?
AN ORAN BERRY, YOU SAY?
Ohohoho, perfectly willing, old lady! Streak’s Ability isn’t changing any time soon, there’s a good chance he’ll just find another Oran Berry at some point.

Doodledex - #191 Sunkern
Sunkern is infamous for being reeeally weak! Sure, it learns more moves than Magikarp, but with an even Base Stat distribution of 30 for each stat and a total of 180. that’s 20 less than the floppy fish! Heck, Magikarp even has 50 more Base Speed than Sunkern, so in theory it can act faster!
Even the dex entries talk about this! Because it prefers to store energy for evolution (which is weird because you have to use a Sun Stone) it barely moves, and only consumes the dew that collects on its body or drips on it from taller plants. If anything were to try and pick on it, its main defense is to... shake its leaves at them, because again, it doesn’t want to exert itself. Otherwise, well... it can learn Sunny Day and Solar Beam, so there’s that. But nope, it doesn’t want to move. Good job, Sunkern.
#pokemon#doodledex#sunkern#(all jokes aside i think it might be possible to beat G/S/C using only sunkern#gonna have to reaaaally work on those EVs though)#there is something really odd about sunkern though#apparently it will suddenly fall out of the sky in the morning#we don't know how it gets up there#but we know it's up there because it falls from there#this fact is frequently paired with another one in dex entries#and it's that a year after a cold summer their population explodes#based on those particular dex entries i can safely say...#that you should probably wear a helmet in the mornings that summer#hundreds of sunkern suddenly falling out of the sky does NOT sound pleasant#(it is however a funny mental image)

Two random ideas for Johto focused events:
1. Halloween event
Kris and Silver catch wind of Team Rocket members going around and threatening to take people’s candies. They investigate, only to discover that said Team Rocket members are Ethan and Lyra, dressed up for Halloween. Neither of them noticed that people genuinely thought they were part of Team Rocket.
2. Pokeathlon event
Lear decides to host a pokeathlon event on Pasio. Ethan and Lyra are both eager to compete, and enter with their top athletic pokemon, one of which is a Sunkern (who has it doesn’t particularly matter). Kris, who has no idea what the pokeathlon is, gets dragged into the competition, but Silver is initially unwilling to join, until uh oh! it turns out Giovanni is also competing with intentions of taking over after he wins with Mewtwo. Unfortunately for Giovanni, and fortunately for everyone else, he gets beaten by the Sunkern, the only non-legendary besides Ditto to have max potential in all pokeathlon stats. (This is mostly a joke event)

do your nuzlocke characters all have names and stories and personalities? if so i want to hear more about your unova nuzlocke friends!
LONG POST AHEAD
Okay, so the protagonist of my soulsilver and white2 nuzlockes is named Halle, and while in soulsilver it was very much “her” story, i focused more on gijinkas and the pokemon themselves in white2.
rin, my sunflora, is the daughter of my sunflora, ieyasu, from my soulsilver nuzlocke. i figured if i was gonna use two sunflora they’d somehow be connected. she liked to be babied all the time, blamed her weaknesses on her unevolved form, and while she was considerably weak up until the time she evolved, it was also her mentality holding her back. in terms of character she learned to despise this mentality when she saw all her friends growing to surpass her. (kind of seen here) she saw how yuki, like her, remained unevolved for a period of time; her, without a stone, he, without a friend. she filled that hole for him. even if he was a bit insensitive at first, she really does feel a connection with him. they took down many gyms together! she is the binding factor to my entire team, helping keep everyone in somewhat high spirits even when things are tense. she and yuki’s relationship becomes romantic over time.
muramasa, my samurott, was a natural born leader. this was to a fault, because he’d always be getting into fights others would be more than capable of taking on. he’d always get himself hurt and, well, in the end, fainted because of that. despite being kind of stoic, he wears his heart on his sleeve (who knows, he might actually be expressive under the mouth cover.) for a while he failed to realize that protecting rin constantly wasn’t helping her grow. while he originally also doted on elline, he came to train alongside her rather than for her. very much a “big brother” to the entire team except for elline, who i always saw as at least slightly romantic.
elline, my krookodile, is a powerhouse, but shes kind of finicky; self proclaimed ‘princess of the desert’ she demanded to be carried around and treated like royalty all the time (murmasa obliged to this and they kind of fell into a princess/knight role.) despite her attitude she was and is one of the strongest members of my team, but it took time for her to get over her mentality and help without being asked to. after muramasa “died” she really couldn’t deal with the thought of becoming a leader and having the welfare of others on her shoulders, so she kind of withdrew, leading to rin becoming the leader despite her...or, well, what everybody else thought her to be. she was very wary of acai and nari when they first joined the team because it was right after jack and muramasa died. she has no patience for yuki and acai and how clownish they act.
wess, my umbreon, went from a humble city boy to a pop star. he loves attention of any kind, even negative, but preferably you’re fawning over him. he didn’t fully integrate into the team by the time i boxed him in favor of jack, but he was a useful member (aren’t all defensive tanks in nuzlockes?)
yuki, my swoobat, started out as a menace to society. he grew up in a cave, on his own for the most part, with little regard to how his “jokes” may have harmed others. he didn’t have many friends, the few he did were just as rude as him, so it’s not like he ever had someone there to check when he was acting like a jerk and make him realize what was socially unacceptable. being a pokemon that evolves by friendship, this lead to some problems. rin, the most bombastic and happy member of my team, became who i thought could cure this attitude of his. they were both the last to evolve on my team from their base forms at the time so there was some solidarity there, and she was also one of the first people who went out of their way to get under his unpleasant exterior and make him realize that there’s consequence that comes with his behavior. while originally he only had a “soft spot” for her, he eventually warmed up to anyone that would accept him. being a bit more conscious of his behavior now, he’s actually got major anxiety forming genuine connections with others, both from guilt over his previous attitude and wondering still if he’ll say something to mess things up. rin’s kind of like a safety net to him, and he’s also a big comfort to her, given how long shes known him at this point; after muramasa’s death, they were the ‘oldest’ members of the team (those i had the longest) so even in the ever changing landscape they were like security to each other. hes usually seen with her--theyre practically inseparable at this point--but besides that he can be seen with acai. the three of them are like a clown car.
richie, my cofagrigus, actually ties back to my platinum nuzlocke. i had a tentacruel named richie who died during the elite four and it was heartbreaking considering i had him for such a long time. he was very nerdy at the time, a bit shy, didn’t mend too well, but even then. he was my baby. two years later to now, i caught a yamask and i saw the opportunity and took it, naming it after richie. in the story canon, it’s the same richie. he suffers from amnesia and doesn’t have much direction in his life. he’s near constantly wondering what he’s meant for, why he’s here, and if he’ll ever be truly accepted by the team (in reality he’s kind of the one closing himself off and not interacting, but that’s his anxiety for you.) he blames himself for the death of jack (in real life i was debating switching in my altaria or him against hydreigon because either was risky....as you can guess, i made the wrong choice) and becomes even more recluse. jack and muramasa died in the same battle, so this coincides with rin becoming leader, at which point she near forces him to be included. he was a star player during my elite four run next to elline, by which point he finally gets his memories back, and wonders if he has finally proven himself to his old friends and new ones. (i actually did a small comic about this i never posted, i have a lot of small doodles that never make it to tumblr...haha...unless?)
acai, my vanilluxe, entered the team with a purpose. he would be the defeater of dragons now that jack was gone. he and nari came on the team at the exact same time, only a route apart, so i think they were friends, or at least acquainted, beforehand. they don’t mesh super well, considering acai is very laid back and happy and jokey and nari is always going on about his “training.” acai and yuki become good friends almost immediately; acai was almost like yuki but a lot less unintentionally rude and a lot more oblivious. he mostly hangs out with him and rin, who didn’t really plan that arrangement, but she does have a lot of fun around them, and she likes seeing yuki actually enjoy the company of others. he has a tense relationship with elline, even after she warms up to nari. he is completely unaware of this “tense relationship” because he cannot read the atmosphere.
nari, my mienshao, is pretty straight faced and serious. he puts a lot of value in his strength and focus whether it be mental or physical. he and elline are a bit standoffish at first because she was refusing to accept he was a member of the team, given her close relationship with muramasa, and her unwillingness to let any other people into her heart after being so hurt, but she does get to a point where she doesn’t mind him. i feel like maybe if my nuzlocke went on longer they would have been good friends; train together, hang out, all that...they do share a nature, after all.
jack, my altaria, was a relatively short member of the team, and he had died not long after i caught him. he helped me with drayden alongside richie and died at ghetsis. for the short time i did have him, i always saw him as a ‘do what must without any nonsense’ type of person; a little bit sassy and proper, but that may be to do with how i named him after one of my ocs that’s kind of in the same vein. he died at the same time as muramasa, and given i had muramasa for longer i was much more focused on losing him than jack.
lucas, my azumarill, was only on my team for the beginning of the team. i didn’t really have a need for him (in the least rude way possible im saying this) so i replaced him with...i believe it was yuki; that, or wess. i don’t really remember. anyways, he wasn’t the sharpest fellow, but he was certainly nice. before he left the team he and rin were close friends...by the time he was an azumarill she was still a little sunkern, to put into perspective how outclassed she was beginning to feel, haha.
obviously i had more time to develop some members more than others, but i do love them all dearly, and they’re probably my favorite nuzlocke bunch of mine. thank you for humoring my long rambling, friend!
#THIS TURNED LONGER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE I JUST KEPT TYPING LIKE THIS IS THE MOMENT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR#nuzlocke#white2 nuzlocke

Since it's that time of year again...
Here's my take on why the relationship between Pokémon and humans is helpful for the Pokémon rather than harmful.
1) The ability to pick and choose the fights they have.
People often complain that Pokémon battles are like cockfights, but when Pokémon are way more dangerous than real animals (and definitely kill+eat each other), suddenly being a lv5 Caterpie fighting a lv5 Sunkern in a moderated match where the humans can recall your opponent and heal you whenever sounds much better than being a lv5 Caterpie in a jungle full of machine gun birds and acid-spraying dragons.
2) Infinite free healthcare
If you're a wild Pokémon that gets wounded in fight or just on accident, your only choice is to painfully limp to the nearest healing plant, whereas if you're a Pokémon with a trainer, you can count on the Pokeball as guaranteed life support, the instant healing of a Pokémon center, or the multitude of manmade/farmed healing items your trainer can have.
3) Some Pokémon can only evolve with human help.
Trade evolutions (Gengar, Machamp, Escavalier, Accelgor, etc), friendship evolutions (Lopunny, Espeon, etc), affection evolutions (Sylveon), and whatever the hell you do to get Melmetal. These are all ways Pokémon can get stronger and increase their chances of survival that are exclusive to interacting with humans, so why wouldn't Pokémon want to tap into that power? Even Mega Evolution (which hurts like hell for some Pokémon) can only happen when a Pokémon trusts their trainer, and serves as another example of this.
4) It is entirely the Pokémon's decision to be caught or not.
People think Pokeballs trap Pokémon (Team Plasma sucks). But Pokémon can freely leave their Pokeballs at any point, hence the 20-year-long running jokes about Psyduck, (especially) Wobbuffet, Croagunk, Oshawott, Chespin, etc popping out of their Pokeballs and messing around. Why do you think you can't catch fainted Pokémon? Cuz they can't consent. Pokémon could easily choose to hide in the dense forests, open ocean, mountainsides, and underground that you, the player, could never access. And if you want to believe the Sinnoh myth about it, it confirms that Pokémon specifically leave these inaccessible areas to meet and bond with humans.
There's many more reasons and theories by other people across the web (I recall @kynimdraws doing a comprehensive guide of the sort for her comic series a while back) but these are the reasons I most often find myself giving!

I had a dream last night and I was going by Tae (and joking I needed to change my YouTube channel name to Casadilla Tae), and I was in a pokemon tournament with a sunkern and butterfree. Eventually I was signing autographs because I had become a favourite. Then the high ranking players had some of their pokemon but on two separate teams and put against each other. But the people with my pokemon hated mine and sacked them early on and I got really mad.

#2 - SUNKERN
Behold, the worst Grass type of all time, and the second-worst Pokémon of all time! Before generation 7, Sunkern literally had the lowest base stats of every Pokémon in the game, before Wishiwashi (solo form) beat it out by 5 points. It's a dubious honor to lose, but when your BST is that low, it's kind of all you have. Still, Sunkern has lower HP and Speed than Wishiwashi... and doesn't have an ability that makes it on par with legendaries. Sunkern is just a baby. A perfectly charming, smiley baby that sprouts love in my heart.
In researching Sunkern for this article, I discovered a completely hilarious fact. If you don't evolve it into a Sunflora and just power-level this literal infant to level 40 (you find it at level 13), your tenacity is rewarded with... Sunny Day. Yes, Sunkern learns Sunny Day by levelup at level 40. For contrast, the equally-likely-to-encounter Nidoran learns the powerful damage/utility move Poison Jab at level 37. While it's true that Sunny Day can interact favorably with Sunkern's possible Solar Power or Chlorophyll abilities, I don't think "the special attack of a Drifloon" or "the speed of a Wailmer" are things worth devoting an entire turn and move slot on. It does learn Solar Beam and Seed Bomb around those levels as well, but it just feels like a cruel joke for Sunkern to get a build-enabling status move so criminally late. Someone at Nintendo really hates Sun teams, I guess. For Arceus's sake, as much as I love Sunkern, I could spend several more paragraphs describing how bad it is. As fun as that sounds, that's not why I'm here - I'm here to talk about why it's my second favorite Grass type!
Even though it might sound like a cop-out, but... just look at it. Sunkern has the face of a toddler that just discovered ice cream. It’s straight up just a seed with a tiny sprout and no other features. It sleeps literally as often as it can and drinks the dew from underneath flower petals. I don't think they can create a more saccharine Pokémon without making it at least part Fairy type. This little seed dreams of someday becoming a Sunflora after it saves up enough nutrients, and honestly? Pokémon Company, you can catch these hands for not making Sunflora on par with Gyarados and Milotic. If you burn an entire Leaf Stone on making the dreams of a hopeless seed come true, you should be rewarded for your generosity (not to mention Sunkern's hopes and dreams). I can't believe someone looked at Sunkern and said "not only are you going to have the worst stats in the game, but you won't even evolve into anything relevant." My love for Sunkern is half paternal affection, half righteous fury. Sunflora (and by extension Sunkern) deserves a mega that jacks its Sp.Atk up to 150 and gives its Grass moves priority in sunlight. Do I care if that makes Sunny Day teams broken? No! Give this seed its time in the sun! Literally!!
SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF: 9/10 DESIGN COHESION: 10/10 INJUSTICES AGAINST SEEDKIND: 0/10 PERSONAL RATING: 10/10
