Does this take place in the same universe as Sunjackers, before the sun went on it's 45 year lunch break?

The timelines diverge somewhere between Firestarter Spitfire and Stardust, like so:

To save everyone some math homework, Sunjackers refers to the sundown happening "40 years ago" with its present year being 2077 (as seen on a couple of screens), putting it at 2037 (with Concorde being 19), and Stardust shows us the 2044/2045 launch schedule (with Concorde being 27/28), and the sun very much intact.

And with that, Volume 2 of Sunjackers is concluded! The comic will be taking a backseat for a little while while I work on some other stuff, but I expect to be coming back to it some time in the summer. This universe has kinda taken over my life for the last year and change (an INTERESTING time to do so) so I kinda need to go get some sunshine for a bit.

There’s already people clamouring for the print version, to which I say “hang on it’s still hot”! I need to go make the cover art and do the layouts. Also by preliminary estimates it’s going to be an even thicker book than Vol. 1, so keep that in mind for price & shipping. That said, I’ll probably have more to announce on that front before I start drawing Vol. 3!
