sunghoon didn’t want you. he made it very clear that he didn’t want to have you, just desire you. the words he had said that day “we’re better at wanting each other than having each other” rang through your head for weeks. it made sense, how he’s only want you to show off, to have fun but never to actually have soft moments with.
it was always you yearning for gentle love. you weren’t exactly all soft, you were like a current of water— calm and steady but overflowing and aggressive when pushed …but he was fire. consuming and evaporating. he drained you.
at some point you agreed. you two are better as anything but lovers. as much as it hurt.
he’s always around. you have mutual friends. it’s… painful. you always yearn for what could’ve, but you wish desperately to move on just like he has. you wish it didn’t bother you despite how little you think of him. still… your heart naturally yearns.
“seven what?” you ask as you take a sip of your drink.
“seven minutes in heaven!” ni-ki exclaims, grinning sadistically.
“what’s that?” you ask, genuinely.
sunoo and jay turn to you. “you being for real?”
“yes,” you raise a brow, “okay, call me stupid then.”
“no one is calling you stupid,” jay defends.
“i am,” ni-ki snorts. you narrow your eyes at him, “seven minutes in heaven is basically whoever is paired has to be in a room or closet for seven minutes or however long and do some freaky stuff.”
you blink, “oh.”
“let’s go play!” ni-ki shouts to the people that attended the party.
it was a total of 12 people. the bottle spun. cheers. boos. if anyone wanted to skip, they had to take a shot of lemon juice. you weren’t certain if you’d skip or anything, depended on who you were paired with. still, you wondered — what if you were paired with sunghoon?
the boy is clearly having fun with jay, who’s next to him. they chat between themselves, they laugh. why does it bother you? is it because clearly you’re not even worth acknowledging? not even a glance? you feel so alone.
“sunghoon aaandd…. y/n!”
you blink out of your thoughts, snapping your head towards ni-ki. “i’ll take the lemon shot.”
“what?” everyone gasps, disappointed and shocked.
sunghoon huffs, “what? you’re not over me? scared you’ll spill out your feelings?”
“you’re not worth my time,” you say as casual as possible and take the shot.
it’s bitter. sour. you make a face but you won’t show them you’re affected. sunghoon is saying something. you don’t know what. it’s not worth it. you mean nothing to him. so… why do you keep making him something for yourself? heesung is next to you, he puts a hand over yours while everyone continues the game.
“you good?” he asks softly, covered by the shouts of enthusiasm from everyone when the next pair is chosen.
you shrug, “i guess i am. i just like to keep clinging onto things that stopped having meaning long ago.”
heesung’s eyes soften, “y/n… if you want to leave i’ll leave with you.”
“for what? i’m not… upset.” you look around, unsure what to stare at. everyone looks happy. “i just… i don’t know.”
“you wish things were different?”
you shake your head, “i wish i was different. why do i feel like….”
“like you’re not moving on?” his thumb rubs over your knuckles. you nod. “everyone goes through it differently.”
you look at him.
“don’t feel bad because he’s indifferent and you can’t do the same. that just shows you’re real with your process…“ he stares at you lovingly, “y/n-“
“y/n anddddddd,” ni-ki spins the bottle again, “sunghoon again!”
everyone is quiet. this is awkward. again? heesung’s fingers twitch over your hand.
“lemon shot?” ni-ki offers, shifting his sight between you and sunghoon.
“i’m down,” you say.
sunghoon doesn’t smirk. his expression is neutral. “me too.”
still, the tension doesn’t dissipate from the atmosphere. jay and heesung glance at each other. you take your hand out from under heesung’s and pat his hand with tender appreciation. heesung watches as you stand and go to the room with sunghoon. ni-ki had stated before hand that there’s no closet big enough for two people. a room had to do.
sunghoon walks into the room first, you follow suit. the door isn’t even closed behind you fully when he slams you into it. the lock clicking, your eyes strain on sunghoon’a glaring eyes.
“the hell-“ your mouth is suddenly attacked him his lips.
he’s kissing you. you almost push him off, but your body goes lax as he opens his mouth and starts to makeout with you. your can’t help it, he’s always been your guilty pleasure. you pant when he pulls away, his warm, moist breath on your lips.
“that it? nothing more in mind?” you ask, challenging despite how frantic your heart is beating inside your chest.
he grins, “i have a couple of ideas….” he said, glancing down at your lips again.
you hum back, his cockiness giving you an idea. you kneel down in front of him, bringing you eye level with his crotch, “let’s see what you can take for the remaining five minutes.”
“one way to find out.” he said, immediately excited at the sight of you on your knees in front of him. you reached up and unbuttoned his pants, shimmying them down slightly, “y/n are you really..?” he asked, suddenly there’s doubt in his eyes.
“backing out on me?” you ask, snickering at him. you palmed him through his boxers and he let out a low groan, his head falling back against the door with a thud.
you smirked and reached into his boxers, wrapping your hand around his dick and pulling it out. you kitten licked the tip and his hips twitch. he lets out a soft whine.
“quiet. or do you want them to hear how whiney you get for me?" you warned.
you hardly gave him a chance to think about it before taking him into your mouth, he let out a low moan for a second before he remembered what you said and held it back. you sank down as far as you could, slightly gagging as he hit the back of your throat, the sensation making his dick twitch in your mouth. still, you’re a trooper, it doesn’t faze you after a second.
you took your time sucking him off, keeping your actions slow and teasing. he bucks his hips up into your mouth and you bring a hand up to his hips, pushing him back into the door and holding him in place. he whines, pushing up against your hand. you pull back and he falls out of your mouth.
he whines out of frustration, “y/n- please i was so close. felt good-“
“cum when i tap your hip, not before. not after.”
he whines, not liking the order but still, he nods.
"that’s better." you say before guiding him back into your mouth.
you go back to your slow pace, trying to keep him from getting to the edge too quickly. his hips twitch, hinting at how close he was. you lap at the underside of his dick, his breath hitches. you hear footsteps coming from the hall, your time is almost up. yet you bob your head, you move your tongue and he can’t keep his noises to himself. they knock on the door — you tap — he cums in you mouth with a gasp.
“uh, time’s up,” someone says, you pull off of sunghoon.
he’s slump against the door, breathing uneven. you tuck him on lazily, coming up and being at eye level again. you grin, “the only one that spilled anything here was you baby,” you peck his lips, taking in his hot, heavy breaths.
he grabs you by the back of your head and kisses you again.
“guys-?”
“i’m sorry-“ sunghoon pants between kisses, “gives us a minute!”
“uh- sure?” and then there’s giggles from the living room.
“another minute?” you question, eyeing sunghoon with that tenderness you wish you didn’t have for him.
sunghoon nods, breathing normal now. “i just… i need one more minute with you. even if it’s the last.”
you close your eyes and your head falls forward into his neck. “don’t.”
“y/n…”
“you broke up with me. you left me.” you whisper, scared to break down into tears at the memory.
“i know,” he whispers, “i’m sorry… i just… feel so undeserving of you.”
“me too…”
you stay there in his embrace. he doesn’t want to let go…. neither do you. just one more minute… you two allow yourselves to love just one more minute…

pairing: park sunghoon x gn!reader (no pronouns used) genre: fluff word count: 912
notes: inspired by in the mood for love bc it's my fav movie, i'm not sure how much sense this makes if you haven't seen the movie lol, begging and pleading on my knees pls dm me if you also like bae173, this is barely proofread !! pls forgive any mistakes <33
the night is filled with the heavy pattering of rain and the flickering glow of streetlights. no matter how quickly you race along the sidewalk, you can’t seem to escape the raindrops falling from above. taking a sharp right, you turn into a nearby alleyway.
the small awning you find shelter beneath is a familiar one. you had grown accustomed to it - the noise of ceramic dishes clattering against each other from the nearby restaurant; the stray cats that would occasionally pace around the dumpsters searching for food; the kisses you would steal in the night. the cover overhead shielded you from the prying eyes of others. it protected you from the weight of your own feelings.
you sigh quietly as you begin staring into space. stray droplets splash back up from the asphalt and land on the tips of your shoes. the sound of puddles splashing accompanies PARK SUNGHOON’S heavy footsteps as he runs through the alleyway, only slowing down once he reaches your side. from the corner of your eye, you just barely catch the way he folds his umbrella back inwards before leaning it back against the wall beside you.
for a moment you just stand there; your bodies are side by side as you listen to the comforting noise of the heavy rainfall. sunghoon folds and unfolds his hands anxiously. he opens his mouth and then closes it. his mind races with possibilities of what to say before he finally settles on, “it’s raining so hard.”
you hum quietly. “mrs. suen thinks it’ll be good for the crops.”
sunghoon takes a step closer. his eyebrows furrow slightly when he leans in. he tentatively rests his hand against your cheek, examining your features in the darkness. “what were you thinking?” he chuckles almost exasperatedly. “it’s cold out. you’ll get sick.”
“i wasn’t planning on being out this late,” you shrug. “i only came to get some noodles.”
sunghoon purses his lips. his shoulders falter, but his hand doesn’t fall from its place against your cheekbone. instead, he runs his thumb against your skin. silence hangs heavy in the air. for a moment, you’re not sure if he wants you to pull away. if you should.
“thank you for meeting me,” he finally says. “i know it was short notice.”
you nod. “what did you want to talk about?”
“i think you already know,” he sighs. your stomach twists itself into knots when his hand falls away from your face. despite yourself, you frown softly at the lost warmth. sunghoon pushes a hand through his hair. he catches his bottom lip between his teeth momentarily before he takes another deep breath.
your throat feels uncomfortably dry. you swallow harshly, forcing yourself to meet his gaze once again. “i didn’t think you’d fall in love with me.”
sunghoon chuckles dryly. he looks down at the ground as he kicks a small pebble beneath his foot. “i didn’t either.”
this time, the silence is unbearable. you wrap your arms around yourself, shifting uncomfortably. the night is cold. the rain makes it even colder. and now the weight of sunghoon’s words hang heavy in the air.
“do you ever think about it?” he finally asks. sunghoon turns, finally meeting your gaze once again. for just a second, you swear you can see the glint of tears in his eyes. “being together?”
you purse your lips. amidst the indiscernible chatter coming from the nearby restaurant and the still-heavy rainfall, you murmur, “of course i do.”
his hands curl into fists at his sides. he steps closer - so close that you can almost feel his breath ghosting against your face. sunghoon moves quickly. his hands cup your cheeks as he leans in until there are only centimeters between you. “i love you,” he whispers. “i love you. i want to be with you.” he pauses. his eyes shut as he takes a breath. “please tell me you want this too.”
“sunghoon,” you find yourself moving without thinking. your arms wrap tightly around his shoulders. your heart beats erratically in your chest. “i love you too.”
the man in front of you freezes for a moment. and then-
his lips meet yours in a flash. you get lost in the flurry of emotion. your fingertips tangle into the fabric of his jacket while his hands slide to the small of your back, pulling you impossibly closer. sunghoon’s lips feel soft against your own. you gasp when he nips at your bottom lip, making him chuckle in response. it’s hard to focus on anything but him.
when you finally pull away, you’re breathless. your lungs burn in your chest and you feel a little dizzy. “was that okay?” sunghoon asks.
“it was perfect.”
sunghoon steps out from beneath the awning. raindrops slide down the slides of his sleek black umbrella in waves. he pauses, hesitates for a moment, and then turns to face you once again. the warmth of his hand contrasts against the otherwise frigid night. somehow, sunghoon’s body fits perfectly with your own. his fingers slide until your hands are intertwined. you follow his lead, stepping out from beneath the awning and joining him under the safety of his umbrella.
sunghoon smiles brightly. he tucks you closer to him until you’re both huddled together. “are you ready to go?”
“yeah,” you say softly. for the first time that night, you can’t hide your smile. you gently squeeze his hand as you nod. “let’s go home.”

You were stuck there anyways. Your brother wouldn’t come pick you up earlier enough and all your friends left already so you found no point in wanting to leave and sit outside in the hot and humid weather where you’ll probably just end up with mosquito bites and sweaty skin.
The song played in your earphones as you lazily flipped through the Spider-man comic. It was your newest hyperfixation and you had difficulties getting copies but you were getting there.
Suddenly an intrusion popped in front of you as you got to the good part, but you paid no mind to whoever it was.
Besides, who in their right mind would want to make small talk with a stranger in the damned detention room?
The music was dull but you could hear the sound of someone clearing their throat. Sighing, you put down the comic and looked unamused at the boy in front of you.
Park Sunghoon. Rich, smart, pretty boy who lived up to all the stereotypes that clung to his personality while also hanging out with the same sort of people. Not a stranger you thought.
You wondered how you missed seeing him and…Park Jonseong? (If you remembered correctly) walk in. Perhaps you indeed were too focused in your daydreams.
Now amusement flickered in your gaze as you looked up at him.
He definitely did live to his pretty boy name you mused as you took in the moles on his face, the shade of his pink lips, the messy yet perfectly sitting hair of his.
He gulped under your calculating gaze, not knowing why he felt nervous all of a sudden when it was his idea to tell you not to say anything to Mr.Kim for when Jay and him would ditch the detention they got that day. He confidently told his friend he would threaten you if you didn’t comply, perhaps maybe bribe you a bit and surely it would do the trick.
But how his words seemed to bite right back at him because suddenly his mouth felt drier and tongue heavier under your gaze. For a brief moment, he wondered how he had never seen you, otherwise, he knew he wouldn’t be able to forget a face like yours.
“Now now, what ever have I done to have the Park Sunghoon right in front of me?” You grinned teasingly at him and fuck you had dimples. He swore he might have died in that moment and reached heaven.
He felt a shove that snapped him out of his thoughts.
“Uh-yeah um we- wait you know me?” You raised a brow at his words, the amusement only growing as you saw the tip of his ears getting red.
Was he flustered…by you?
“ ‘course I do, it would seem weird if I didn’t at least to you people.” You murmured the last part, darting your eyes to his friend who seemed to roll his eyes. You weren’t sure if it was because of you or because of Sunghoon.
“Can you get to the point idiot-”
“Hey! Shut up, yeah? I’m talking-”
“All I see is you acting like a huge fucking si-”
They whispered to each other, almost making you giggle at the way they both seemed to be arguing over something, you figured you were somehow involved.
“Well see- the thing is we’re going to ditch this.” You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, tilting your head a little as you leaned forward in your chair, placing your head on one hand.
“And? Does that concern me?”
“We don’t want you snitching, that’s what he meant. You can ditch too, Mr.Kim’s known for never coming back to his detentions once he leaves.”
You shook your head, “I’m fine here, I have to wait anyways, you can-”
Suddenly a thought occurred to you, “Hmm, the snitching on you both part sounds tempting, I might even get brownie points, struggling with his class anyways.”
No,he was not supposed to find your smirk cute, nor the mischievous glint in your eyes.
“What’s in it for me?”
“Wha- what’s in it for you?! You can ditch too! Didn’t I say that already-”
“Wait. I might have something.”
Jay stared at Sunghoon in both disbelief and annoyance while you looked at him curiously. He set his bag down and opened it, pulling out something.
“Here.”
You couldn’t believe your eyes. The newest edition of the Spider-man series. You’d been trying for ages to get it, but held yourself back when you saw the triple digit price point.
Of course he’d have this.
You gasped in disbelief, looking in awe as you grabbed it and flipped through the pages. Sunghoon found it absolutely cute the way your eyes lit up.
He was concerned about how enduring he already found you in the span of approximately 10 minutes.
“It’s too expensive, I can’t-”
“Who said I am giving it to you? I’m letting you borrow it so you won’t rat us out.”
It seemed the tables turned and it was your turn to be flustered under his teasing gaze and he did in fact have a cute grin. Shit-eating one but adorable.
“I’ll take it to my grave.” You hugged the comic to your chest and did a zipping your mouth motion, throwing away the pretend key. He let out a chuckle at your actions and the sound absolutely did not do something to your heart ( You think it might have burst ).
Jay had been observing the interaction and he knew why exactly Sunghoon did what he was doing. Seems like the supposed ‘ice’ prince was melting at your mere presence. Oh he was so going to spill everything to the rest of his friends and tease him for the life of it.
Sunghoon’s gaze moved towards your phone, seeing it was still unlocked he took it while you yelped in alarm, “Hey! I said I won’t say anything!”
You had stood up from your chair and now only realised just how much taller he was than you when he began to type something with his hands raised above you.
“Here. My number and I rang it to have yours. Call me when you’re done reading, I expect to get my comic back soon enough.” He held your hand and plopped your phone in it, while you remained frozen at his bold moves. Even the blonde next to him was surprised at his actions, that probably said a lot to you.
He swung his arm around Jay who had an amused grin as he shook his head, waving bye to you, pausing for a moment when he realized something as he looked back at you.
“What’s your name?”
“Uh-oh um,” You were still in a trance at what just happened as you said your name, not as confidently as you wished and you cursed yourself mentally for already being so hung up on his actions.
He repeated it as if testing it out, “See you soon then,” He grinned at you as you just chose to wave back, thinking you might just say something stupid.
Looking down at your phone, you saw his number and back at the comic book that laid on the desk, you grinned bashfully, shaking your head as you laughed.
Maybe just maybe, Park Sunghoon wouldn't have to wait until you finished the comic for you to see him.

The cursed piano plays his favorite classic in the Music Room. Melancholic, dark melodies float towards you as the heel of your shoe beats up the silence of the abandoned corridor. You twirl the sweets in your pocket. Jungwon gave them to you before he left to go and scare people. He probably did it out of pity, since you couldn't go with him to the usual Halloween campus program. The piano in the distance starts a new song, and you take off to push the arched door of the Hall of the Immortals, decorated with vines and skulls. The wood wails to let you enter the hall, where the rituals of demons and witches usually take place. Right now there are no reddish pentagrams painted on the floor or heavy, sinister books and bones on the table. Only a few candles flicker and surround a table with four mugs on it. There's a fifth, held in the warlock’s palm, and he's about to plunge a dollop of thick, brownish liquid from the pot with great care into it.
You wait for the door to slam behind you, shutting out the piano's dismal song, but instead somebody catches the heavy door, and you are perhaps a little startled by the sudden presence behind you.
“Mugs? Really?” Heeseung looks on with disbelief as he sidesteps you. “The school has so many goblets, there's one for every rite. And you put the curse into a mug?”
“Don't be such a snob,” says Jay, placing the filled cup next to the others. He neatly arranges them in a circle.
“I'm not a snob,” replies Heeseung darkly.
“Imagine that it's just pumpkin flavored hot chocolate. Four really is just that, so maybe you don't even have to imagine.”
Although, the way Jay is looking at Heeseung right now, he might want the elder to choose the one with the curse. To somehow relieve the tension you sense, you walk over to the table and eye the similarly plain brown china, from which a fragrant, spicy steam rises.
“They're cute,” you note.
Heeseung snorts and leans against one of the tables against the wall. The light from the candles doesn't reach there, and his tall figure is completely lost in the darkness, in the shadow. Remembering how lonely and desolate the university's castle is this evening, you wish he would drink the curse, that he'd be the one to be hunted down tonight. He's so good at blending in, that you probably wouldn't catch him.
“Where did you get them?” You stroke one of the mugs’ handles and stare hard, in hope that you recognise the cursed one.
“From the kitchen. Someone in the divination department has already got the mugs in advance, so that we can paint on them at Christmas.”
It was the same last year, you painted on mugs before the break. Everyone had a chance to get creative and take the results home. But for now, you're going to play. Christmas is still a distant, frost-white dream. At the hour of death, when the bodies crawl out of the grave and the children dress up as monsters while the monsters themselves walk among them, you are going to play a game in which someone nearly dies.
One of you.
The door opens with another slam. An impatient demon rushes to the table.
“Are you ready? Is the curse in there?” asks Jake, leaning so far against the table that the drinks are shaken and the tip of his horn almost grazes Jay's skin. “Can we start?”
His excitement spreads to the candles. They flare up, burning orange and giving off enough light for you to see the tip of Heeseung's boot.
“Sunghoon is not here yet.”
“Did he chicken out?” Heeseung asks mockingly.
“Haha, no,” replies Sunghoon, who also emerges from the shadows, but not through the door. He came through the secret witch's passage from the hall, which the demons don't know about, so you can only guess which way the entrance might be. “I've just spiced up the curse to make sure it's effective. With snake venom.”
And the flames burn faster, even more brightly. The white wax drips in hot drops down the melting stump, as if to symbolize Jake's anticipation. You, on the other hand, who has no effect on the lights with your emotions, are merely blown away because the contents of the vial Sunghoon brought you mix so easily with the hot chocolate that after Jay spins the tray on which the mugs are standing, you have no idea which one contains the poison-turbocharged curse.
You're about to find out.
You're all gathered around the table, and it's not just Jake and the candles that are radiating excitement anymore. You can hardly breathe.
“Everybody take one. On three," Jay says in a serious tone. “One, two, three.”
You reach for one of the cups that looks sympathetic. With a trembling hand you lift it to your mouth.
"Ouch, it's hot!" exclaims Jake.
"Obviously. Because it's hot chocolate," Heeseung rolls his eyes. Sunghoon scowls at him.
“Do you feel strange?” Jay asks Jake, who is fanning his tongue.
“It just hurts like hell.”
Finally, after the interlude, you pluck up the courage and drink your own. You are careful, only taking a tiny sip, so you don't burn yourself like others, but it immediately starts burning your mouth and then your throat. You grip your skin, fingers curling into claws, hoping to scrape the tantalizing taste out of you. This is not what a pumpkin flavored hot chocolate is like, not at all.
You fall to your knees, gasping for air. A supporting hand brushes your shoulder. When you feel better, you stand up.
You feel immortal, and yet very, very vulnerable. Weak. Like a victim.
///
Your friends are lurking to kill you.
Three important events have led to this moment, as far as you can tell. First, the day you were learning in demonology class about the various torture methods that demons have developed together with witches. One of these was the curse of immortality, where a person is immortal and can therefore be tortured beyond the extreme. Then came the time when you summoned a spirit with Sunghoon's ouija board. The spirit lady possessed Sunghoon and flirted with Jake through him. Jake was so embarrassed that the armchair underneath him immediately caught on fire, and half the lounge was burnt down before they could put the flames out. It didn't end well for the community space, nor for you. That's when you were banned from going out into the human world on Halloween to haunt. So that led to the third event, when you were wondering what to do to distract yourselves when Halloween came. What could you do to have fun? Jake suggested horror movies. Heeseung said those are boring because what's the point of watching killers hunt when you could be the ones hunting. And the picture came together.
That's how your friends happened to be hunting you down today. With crossbows, knives, swords, anything and everything they can find. If they catch you before dawn and make you give up, they win. If you hold out and survive, you win.
The scariest part is you don't know what they're up to. How they're going to get you, and with what.
You fear Heeseung the most. His family is a traditional one of demons who sacrifice goats on full moons and blood moons. With such experience and your horns twisted into the shape that goats’ ones are, it's easy to imagine you as the animal and take your blood until you beg for them to stop. It's just a sick fantasy, you reassure yourself. Heeseung can't see you as a goat if he recalls you kissing in his bed a few days ago. He probably doesn't do that to sacrificial goats. There is some level of tender emotion here.
You turn in after one of the rows of lockers. You don't know exactly where you are. You don't usually have classes in this corner of campus, and it doesn't help that there's no lighting. Yesterday, colorful decorations hung everywhere and talking, red-eyed skeletons strutted at the doors of classrooms to greet students arriving for class. Real bats fluttered around the ceiling, occasionally getting into the hair of passers-by. Pumpkins were placed here and there and their scent was everywhere. But the memory is not worth much now. The university is haunted. A murderers' den. The den of your murderers.
And as much as you're a successful demon, proud of your professors, at this moment you're nothing but a frightened victim, not sure if you're capable of being a ‘final girl’. But you're trying as hard as you can.
In your pocket, you're fiddling with your sweets. Your palms are sweating, your sweets may be melting soon. When the candy papers make noise, you quickly reach out and look around. It is deathly quiet. Everything is still. You've long since left the piano's surroundings behind you. Have they banded together to hunt you down as a team, or are they looking for you individually? Where are the witches' passages? Do Jake and Heeseung use the demons' ones?
You can't hide your fear. Your breathing gets heavier with each passing minute.
It's just a game. Just a game, you remind yourself. Or at least it is now. In the Middle Ages, it wasn't considered a game by the poor people who were tortured to madness.
Something snaps. Must be the knightly armor worn by the fanged pig statues in the corridors. It's been knocked off, then it fell softly to the carpet. What did they knock it down with? That's an easy question to answer when you hear the heavy weapon being dragged across the carpet. A big poleaxe, a very big poleaxe is coming, and it's coming for you.
Your footsteps become frantic, but you try to remain silent and get as far away from your pursuer as possible. The corridor ends in a staircase somewhere, you can make it that far and then decide which way to go. Except that somewhere nearby a door opens. Right in the direction you're going. You're forced to hide in the nearest room before you're trapped halfway down. As quietly as you can, you push down on the handle, squeeze through the gap and throw your back against the door. You close your eyes in the darkness and try to slow your breathing. In, out, in, out.
But you're not alone here either. Something squeaks in the dark, then croaks. Hisses and scratches. It makes a throat sound, rises, then finally lands on your shoulder. It's the three-headed bird, the university mascot. You don't have to see it to know it's rubbing its raven head against your hair. That's the head on the far left. Then comes the owl, and finally the hawk.
He's waiting for a treat. You give him something every time you see him. If you don't, he starts throwing a fit, which means it starts squawking loudly with all three heads as if were an alarm.
“Hi, Casper,” you greet him quietly. “Look what I brought you.”
You reach into your pocket and take out the first piece of candy. Carefully, you peel it out of the wrapper and drop it in the crow's mouth. It happily closes up. Then the owl's opens. You pop the next candy into it, and so far you're very proud of your thriftiness. The hawk is also waiting for its turn, but there's only empty paper in your pocket when you're rummaging around. You remember that you ate the third piece you had, because the poison still tasted awful, even after you'd swallowed the disgusting sip. You sucked on the candy during the rules discussion, and it tasted so good. At this moment, you miss it very much.
The hawk closes his mouth, opens it again, makes a soft noise, then nips the back of your hand.
“I'm sorry, but that's it. That's all, okay? I'll bring you more next time if you don't open your beak, hmm?” You bargain pleadingly.
Your physical wellness depends on a sugar-addicted monster bird. As it turns out, Capser is not on your side. He flies off your shoulder, his wings rustling loudly in the dark. Then his voice rings out. All three of his mouths start to wag at once, wanting more than two grains of sugar.
“Fuck.”.
You need to get out. Quickly.
You start feeling around the furniture. You're in the library, you know the feel of the old armchairs. Since most of the lounge burned down, you've been coming here under strict supervision. As you've been here many times, you know there's a secret demon passage in the wall. If you can get there, maybe you'll get lucky and your blood won't stain the furniture. And if you're lucky, you won't run into anybody in there who wants to stab you either.
You start walking carefully and almost fall on your face, tripping in one of the coffee tables. The door creaks open and the bard clatters on the floor of the room. Scrambling on your aching foot, you reach the secret door and throw yourself behind it. And then, with your ankle throbbing, you dash.
You run and run, as if it was the hot, angry hell at your heels.
Somehow you get to your own room. A pentagram lies reassuringly on the floor. You fall to your knees in it, breathing thunderously. You could do with a fiery cup of coffee or an energy drink to give you strength. But at least this hand-drawn pentagram radiates security. It's like you've found sanctuary.
You need a plan.
But when a masked figure emerges from under Jungwon's blanket, you can't think of plans. You leap up to dart for the door, but a sword stands in your way. If you keep going, it will cut you in two. Instead, you jump back into the pentagram and look up at your captor. His mask is a weeping drama face. He's wrapped himself in a cloak that covers his entire face. You cannot tell if the horns you see belong to him or to the mask. He waves his gloved hand at you.
“What's it going to be? Are you going to skewer me?”
The masked man shakes his head. He gets up from the bed, now towering over you. He draws a question mark in the air with the tip of his sword, then points at himself.
“You?” you ask. “What about you?”
He shrugs.
Maybe this guessing game is worse than if he'd thrown you up on the edge of his sword in the first minute. Him playing games with you makes you nervous. You're surprised to find your fear is fading. This could have something to do with the beneficial effects of the pentagram. In any case, you're able to forge a plan.
“Oh, come on, now. Take the mask off.”
He shakes his head.
You think about the chains under your bed.
You are not allowed to use weapons. Their wounds will not heal as yours will thanks to the curse. But no one said you couldn't use your charm. If your starting point is that you've been in all of their mouths, you have a chance to play this card. What do you have to lose by trying? If they all want to play, that's fine. If they underestimate you, you can take advantage. They have the weapons, but you're smart. If you push fear and panic to the back of your mind, you can succeed. You can succeed because you're tired of running around with them just waiting here and there, chasing you.
Let this be a game for you, too.
“Should I guess who's under there?”
This time he nods.
“Then you let me go?”
He pauses, thinking. Then he nods enthusiastically.
He should know better than to make a deal with the devil.
“Hmm. Give me a minute.”
You get up and dust off your knees. It feels good to be back to yourself. You're not looking at a killer anymore, you're looking at one of your friends dressed as a killer. But which one? Heeseung hates wearing masks at ceremonies, not to mention he's not the playful type. If he has to stab you to win, he'll stab you. He's out. You're taking a good look at the masked man. He's got sneakers peeking out from under his robe. Jay's wearing brown boots. That leaves Sunghoon and Jake.
How exciting.
You reach for the top button of your shirt and undo it. And then the next one. “Wow. I'm so hot from running around.”
When you reach the third button, and most of your chest is perfectly visible, the candle on the desk comes to life and burns orange. You smile in satisfaction and put your hands on your hips.
“So will you take the mask off, Jake?”
He tilts his head towards the table, then sighs in disappointment. He takes the mask off.
“You took advantage of my embarrassment!”
“That's it. Now come here. Your hair is all messed up.”
Jake drops the sword, takes off the cloak, and obeys. You take the mask from him and arrange his locks.
“Good,” you nod. You step out of the pentagram. “Claude eam,” you murmur, and the pentagram glows red.
“What? Did you really just lock me up?” the boy asks, stunned. “But I let you go!”
“Sorry, but I haven't forgiven you for threatening me with a sword yet," you blow a kiss in the air, then reach for the robe resting on Jungwon's bed. “And I need to borrow this.”
“What are you up to?”
You just wink, then put on his mask. It's interesting to wear the enemy's face. When you put on the cloak too, you transform completely. You go from prey to full-fledged hunter.
“Oh. You look hot like this.”
“Thanks.”
///
It's not difficult to find Sunghoon, you just have to follow the sound of the poleaxe scraping on the carpet. You tap his hunched back. He looks up.
“Jakey! Did you find them?”
You nod. Sunghoon straightens up completely.
“Where?”
You take him by the arm and lead him to the nearest room. Luckily, there are windows and enough moonlight to keep you from tripping. You're in the dining room. A fitting location for what you plan to do with Sunghoon. You point to a long table with a tablecloth that reaches to the floor. Sunghoon approaches. He slowly kneels beside it, then peers under the tablecloth.
You take advantage of this and push him to the ground, straddling his hips.
"Jake!" he exclaims in surprise. "What are you doing?”
You put your finger over his mouth. You run it down his chin, down his neck, over his Adam's apple, down and down and down his chest. When your palm strokes his stomach under his shirt, Sunghoon's mouth opens, his head dropping to the carpet. With your free hand, you pull the scarf from your pocket. You stole it from one of the ghost decorations and put it to good use when you blindfold the boy. He looks irresistible like this under you. You take off the mask and kiss his chin.
“We have to find-” You grab his hips. He immediately falls silent.
As you push his shirt up his stomach, he thrusts his hips up. You clasp his wrists, lift them above his head, and pull a magic cuff from your other pocket. You stole this from the torture chamber exhibit. It doesn't open with a key, only with a spell. Sunghoon can entertain himself with it.
You cuff both his hands to the leg of the table. You lean to his ear.
“What were you planning to do with that axe?” you whisper.
Sunghoon stiffens under you, but soon relaxes again.
“I didn't mean to hurt you, just to scare you.”
“You succeeded. I don't want to get you laid either, just to get you horny. Did I succeed as well?” You sit on his groin. Sunghoon moans. “Yeah, it seems so.”
“Please…”
“Don't worry. I'll be back soon. There are only two of you left.”
You climb down and out from under the table. The successful hunt gives you endorphins. You can't wait for the next victim to walk into your trap.
///
You don't have to search for long. As soon as a throwing star whizzes past you, all you have to do is turn around and there's Jay. In his hand, he's twirling the next throwing star.  “Give up.”
“No, thank you.”
He throws the next one, which rips your shirt, but doesn't hurt you. You back up to the nearest wall and let him use you as a target. Jay misses again and again. He doesn't want to hurt you, and that's comforting..
“Give up,” he steps in front of you. “Please. We never should have agreed to play this game in the first place.”
You put your arm around his waist and pull him closer to you. “I'm fine.”
“As of now. But you haven't met Heeseung, have you? You didn't see that fire in his eyes.”
“When we meet, I'll defeat him.”
“How?”
"With my mouth," you tell him. You stroke his jugular with the tip of your nose. "I'll beat you with my mouth too."
You lick his skin, then sink your teeth into it, the movement soft and light like a knife in butter. Jay's forehead falls to your shoulder, but he doesn't flinch, doesn't resist. You lean away and smile up at him. His eyes are misty.
"See? Who's the victim and who's the hunter is a matter of opinion. You've got the throwing star, but your neck bleeds because of my teeth. Who's who now?"
“I'm... dizzy.”
“I know.”
You help him slide down the wall and stretch out on the ground. By the time he lands, he's asleep.
You smeared your teeth with a sleeping potion called vampire kisses. You bought it as a joke, you’ve never used it before. You had to go back to the room to get it, but at least you could see that Jake was okay. He summoned himself a console, and he's playing on it in the middle of the pentagram.
You wrap the stolen cloak around Jay's body, then head to finish your hunt for the day.
You plan the finale to be truly spectacular and grandiose.
///
The cursed piano doesn't play alone. Ten fingers rest on its keys and duet with it. The music is somber and dark, deep but inviting. You hope Heeseung, your last killer, your last prey, will come to hear your serenade. You’re playing for him.
You aren't disappointed. He doesn't even try to hide his footsteps, as if he was just waiting to see when you'll reveal yourself to him.
"It's a painful song," he says when you finish. You turn towards him on the bench.
With the light of the candles you have lit for the occasion, his face is half lost in the shadows, but you easily recognise the pocket knife held loosely in his hand.
“Painful, but beautiful. Just like you.”
Heeseung chuckles. “How can I stab you when you’re flirting with me?”
You shrug. “Be creative.”
“Yeah?”
He steps closer. He lifts your chin with the tip of the knife. There's indeed a wildness in his eyes, but Jay misread that. He's not like this because he wants to kill, but because he can give chase. You know it because your gaze would be the same if you looked in the mirror. The happiness of a successful hunt turns Heeseung's face red and makes his eyes sparkle, but he doesn't actually want to hurt you.
One by one, he cuts off your buttons and looks you in the eye. They all fall to the ground and scatter.
“I met Sunghoon on the way here.”
“Did you like the view?”
Heeseung's tongue strokes his fang. – “You're evil. Wicked.”
“I wouldn't say that. I'm rather consistent. They were the ones who made a deal with the devil. These are the consequences.”
“And what do I deserve?”
“I'm thinking about it.” Even though you say that, you already know what you want to do with him. You want him to remember that you defeated him for a long time.
“That means you're not giving up, right?” Heeseung helps you out of your shirt.
“If I remember the rules correctly, the game is over when I beg.”
“Understood.” He sits down next to you on the piano bench and kisses you. You part your lips and brush your tongue against his. Heeseung shudders. Your palm slides to his thigh, and he drops the knife.
Of the four, he is the most hungry for touch. He doesn't like to admit it, hiding behind his smug, cold and mocking mask, but when you’re making out, it's obvious. You lean in close, let him touch you where he wants, and when he can't think of anything but you, you ask him.
“Did I win?”
“You won.”
It's as sweet to hear that from his lips as it is to kiss them. It's as sweet as Jay's blood, the fire from Jake's embarrassment, or even as sweet as Sunghoon's commitment to drag a bard across campus just to scare you. Sweet enough to make your victory complete.

“Your absence has been problematic..”
Rough gusts of wind brushed against ☁️’s skin. The sky was still cloudy from the morning’s rain.
“..Even more than your presence had been. Why’d your curse only now come around?”
Looking over the bridge’s stone guardrail, the student rested heavy arms down. The stream’s water rushed steadily under the structure, though not nearly as harsh as it had been a week prior.
“Why’re you over here sulking? Shouldn’t you be at school?”
☁️ turned to see Heeseung, his mahogany hair floating lightly as he stepped onto the bridge. Approaching ☁️, he stopped a few feet away and leaned against the guardrail as well.
“The school day ended four hours ago. Why’re you here and still in your school uniform?”
“I had a feeling that you’d be here.”
Eyebrows furrowed, ☁️ remained with a forward gaze. “So.. what do you want?”
“Now that Sunghoon’s gone and this place is “problematic” as you say, somebody needs to watch over you.”
“Oh.. I’ll be fine. I know who to look out for.”
“This a lot different than you think it is, ☁️.”
“I need to be alone right now, Heeseung. You can watch me from a distance, can’t you?”
“Well, people are usually dying to be this close to me-“
☁️ looked over to the boy to see a grin slowly growing along his face.
“Oh.. sorry. Too soon..?”
“Leave.”
“Why aren’t you drawn to me? Don’t you think I’m everything you want and more? Am I not handsome?”
“Are you serious?” ☁️ responded in an aggressive tone.
“You can’t reject me.. and I don’t take rejection very well.” Heeseung muttered between gritting teeth. He was shaking, which worried ☁️ slightly. “Wait.. you must still like Sunghoon. It can’t be a me problem..”
“Clearly.. I’m just not in the position to be interested in anyone. Now, I would like to sulk in peace, please.”
Heeseung stopped shaking, and took a deep breath. “Mhm. I’ll see you Monday.”
“I hope not.” ☁️ muttered, earning a scoff from Heeseung as he walked away.
I can’t believe that guy. He’s such a weirdo.. and his ego problems are a lot worse than Sunghoon’s.
Returning a gaze to the trees and flowing stream, ☁️ continued his thoughts out loud.
Now where was I?
After school, ☁️ would go over to the bridge and talk about all that went on throughout the day. Like how rumors of the archery teacher going insane were spread rampant after he didn’t show up to class the entire week. Other students stated that they’ve seen him creeping around on campus, but who knew of that was true. Rika also didn’t show up for the first half of the week. It seemed she hadn’t been sleeping, as she had bags under her eyes and didn’t say a word to anyone. ☁️ recalled that she still only had one bow in her hair. Both her and Hoshino have been on edge, but in contrast to Rika, Hoshino became meaner. As ☁️ would stand on the bridge every evening, one or two of Hoshino’s goons would pass by. It became so frequent that ☁️ would greet them on a first-name basis. On Thursday, accusations against Hoshino came about, with more rumors saying that he was the cause of Sunghoon’s disappearance. That was also the day that the young teacher (whose name ☁️ still didn’t know), confronted ☁️ in private. The teacher explained that he couldn’t remember when or how, but he remembers ☁️ being associated with missing items from his classroom. After pretending not to understand, ☁️ was on borrowed time. It obviously wasn’t good that the teacher’s memories were coming back, and ☁️ could tell that he was thoroughly investigating Sunghoon’s situation, which made the student anxious.
☁️’s trance was broken as footsteps echoed from the left side of the bridge. It was an older man, who looked at ☁️ and nodded.
“Be careful around here. The kids are reporting stories of ghosts.” The man muttered as he passed the student.
“Really? I’ve visited this bridge everyday and haven’t seen anything.” ☁️ responded.
The old man looked over the edge and pointed at the water below. Then, he turned, continuing his trudge down the bridge and onto the dirt path. ☁️ struggled it off.
Today was Friday, and rumors of Rika framing Hoshino for Sunghoon’s disappearance were passed around in ☁️’s first class. Both had been the subjects of much discussion, aside from one of the new students- Jungwon. Hours later, as ☁️ sat alone at lunch, police officers entered the cafeteria. Hoshino was apparently taken into police custody, but released later that day for unknown reasons.
After lunch, ☁️ attended the archery course, expecting to sit around as the students had been doing since Monday. To their surprise, the teacher was back, and extremely disoriented. His short, gray hair basically stood upright, and he stood hunched over with a cane. He, too, had noticeable eyebags and a disturbed expression. The old teacher was silent for a while before asking the students to turn themselves in for the murder of Sunghoon, as he was planning to do. You’ve could’ve guessed that the students, Hoshino especially, didn’t like this request. ☁️ felt the group’s hostility rise as the students shouted and eventually chased the old man out of the gym and into the forested area. For a man with a cane, it seemed he was perfectly capable of moving without it as he bolted out the back doors. ☁️ understood what they might do, and why they would do it- fear, anger, states of craze or madness, desensitization. ☁️ didn’t participate this time, and instead watched everyone run out of the room, with four or five students having been left behind. One student asked if they were actually going to turn themselves in, which everyone agreed not to.
☁️ heard that Rika had skipped this archery class to target the young teacher. She seemed to mistakenly think that the man was framing her, and he was the reason she was being accused of Hoshino’s arrest. ☁️ recalled Sunghoon’s interaction with Rika the week prior, when he was still alive. He handed Rika a bag full of papers and files, and then she was on her way. Sunghoon had never clarified what his scheme consisted of, and part of ☁️ wish that he had. From what ☁️ heard from teachers’ gossip, the young teacher had a few stab wounds but was still alive.
☁️ flinched at the sound of footsteps once again. It was Hoshino- who looked as if he was ready to fall asleep standing up.
“☁️.”
☁️ took a step back.. expecting the worst. “Y-yes?”
“Have you seen Smiley? It’s been hours since he’s came through here.”
Smiley was one of Hoshino’s goons who ☁️ saw regularly, and earlier today, ☁️ walked from the school to the bridge with him. ☁️ remembered waving goodbye before Smily walked deeper into the forested area. Ironically, Smiley wasn’t very amiable- or smiley. He was nice to ☁️, though, thus the two interacted often.
“Yes, but it’s been a while since he walked down that path. I haven’t seen him walk back.”
“Shit.” Hoshino muttered as he hurried past ☁️ across the bridge.
“Let me come with you. It’s getting dark.” ☁️ blurted out impulsively. Hoshino appeared confused, but nodded hesitantly in agreement.
The two walked side by side off of the dirt path and into the forest.
“Where are we going?” ☁️ asked, looking around.
“To where we.. scattered.. Sunghoon.”
☁️ exhaled.
“Sorry. How have you been holding up?”
Baffled, ☁️ looked over to Hoshino. “I’ve been okay. I have my thoughts, but I’m sure you have yours, too.”
Hoshino nodded.
“Can I ask you a question, though?” ☁️ continued.
Hoshino nodded again. The sky was fading into an orange hue as the two walked.
“What happened today? How’d you end up in police custody, and how’d you get out?”
“I don’t know who said what, but that crazy bitch Rika was how I got out. One of my guys caught her burning clothes and documents in this forest yesterday. She wasn’t burning evidence for me, though. She was doing it for herself. I don’t think she anticipated sparing me. I’m confused about it all myself. I don’t know what she’s doing- I don’t know anything. It’s really pissing me off.”
☁️ raised an eyebrow. Hoshino had eyes and ears everywhere, so to hear that he was clueless was scary in itself. ☁️ still didn’t understand how he ended up becoming accused, though. The two stopped upon seeing a body lying on the floor in the distance.
“That’s gotta be Smiley.” Hoshino ran over to the body with ☁️ close behind. “Shit, shit, shit. That’s him.”
☁️ leaned down to feel the boy’s pulse. Placing two fingers under his jawline, ☁️ felt Smiley’s cold skin touch his own.
“He’s dead, Hoshino. What happened?”
“It’s getting dark, I’ll take you home.”
-
“I really wish we met under better circumstances. I’m sorry for putting you through all this.” Hoshino shook his head, and then ran a hand through his fluffy black hair.
“Don’t worry about me. What happened to Smiley?”
“I think- no, I know it’s the old teacher. Everybody’s been saying that he’s been lurking in the woods since what happened last week. It only makes sense.”
“How’s that old man gonna take Smiley out, though? I thought you guys took care of him when you chased him.”
“The others beat him pretty bad. I didn’t think anything of it.. He’s unpredictable right now.”
“An old person said that there were ghosts in the area. Maybe that has some correlation?”
“You haven’t seen what’s under the bridge yet?”
With a head tilted to the side, ☁️ squinted.
“What do you mean?”
“Make sure you have no plans tomorrow. I’ll pick you up here.”
☁️ remained silent and nodded.
“Are you okay being here alone tonight? If you need me to, I can stay.” Avoiding eye contact, Hoshino gestured to ☁️’s home- which they stood right in front of. It was a tiny apartment complex ☁️ was renting out while attending school in the countryside.
“I have someone watching over me, so I’ll be okay. But.. are you gonna be okay? You don’t look good. At all.”
“It’s been a rough week... I never wanted any of this.”
“I know. But it’s still going to be here tomorrow. Go home and get some rest.”
Hoshino nodded. “Does twelve-thirty work?”
☁️ sighed and nodded.
“Have a goodnight.” Hoshino muttered before turning around and walking home in the darkness. ☁️ waited until Hoshino was out of sight to turn around.
Walking to the front door, ☁️ heard a familiar voice whisper out. Heeseung was nearby.
“☁️~”
☁️ carefully turned around and walked back over to the sidewalk, where Heeseung now stood.
“How do you know where I live?”
“I watch over you, remember?”
“Right.. what do you want?”
“I’m going to join you two tomorrow. Also, no more of this walking through the forest when it’s nighttime. Not with everything going on.”
☁️ nodded. “I’ll see you at twelve-thirty.”
Tumblr media
“Who’s this?” Hoshino muttered, pointing to the tall boy waving from across the stream. Another boy accompanied him, though ☁️ very faintly recognized him.
“His name is Heeseung. I don’t know who the other guy is.”
“Why’s he wearing a school uniform on a Saturday?”
“I don’t know. It’s kinda his thing.”
The two approached Hoshino and ☁️ with flashy smiles.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Heeseung nodded to ☁️ and then looked at Hoshino. “This is my friend Jungwon. He’ll be joining us today.”
“Uh, I’m sorry?” Hoshino grimaced. “What do you mean “joining us?” Neither of you were invited.”
“Now, now. Let’s not get worked up. We’re all here for the same thing.” Jungwon spoke, rather irregularly. His tone was crisp and elegant, as if he wasn’t from this century. Unlike Heeseung, he wore normal clothing- a black hoodie and grey corduroy straight pants.
“What.. thing?” ☁️ asked, raising an eyebrow.
Heeseung gestured to Hoshino, who walked off of the bridge and down the tiny hill in which its side stood exposed- it was where ☁️ had left Sunghoon’s organs. The stream’s water continued its pace as ☁️ shuffled behind the others. ☁️’s stomach dropped upon seeing a skeletal structure growing from the stone abutment. Short pieces of skin draped off each bone and fluttered in the wind as if it were cloth. The body’s brain could be seen through the eye sockets, and the ribcage pierced through the heart. There were no legs, and the pelvis bones seemed to grow straight out of the stone structure. Whatever it was, it still had parts of organs and muscle along the body.
Feeling queasy, ☁️ sat on the ground and looked away.
“What the fuck is that.”
“The ghost everyone has been talking about.” Hoshino replied, sitting next down beside ‘em.
“This is where you left Sunghoon’s heart. Is it not?” Heeseung asked, looked down at ☁️.
“Yes… Is this him?” ☁️ asked, feeling even more sick.
“Somewhat. Do you know what he is?” Jungwon replied. Heeseung shot the boy beside him a concerned look.
“What do you mean?” Hoshino asked.
“It’s okay. I need to speak with Heeseung.” Jungwon replied, walking back up to the bridge’s path with Heeseung following behind him.
“How long have you known about this?” ☁️ looked over to Hoshino.
“A few days. I didn’t know it was of Sunghoon’s body parts, though. Only weird ass person would do some shit like this… I still think it’s that teacher.”
“If those two know about this, do you think they could help us figure out what happened to Smiley?” ☁️ whispered, pointing at the bridge above.
“They know. Heeseung.. brought Smiley back to life. I don’t know how, but that guy said he saved Smiley’s life the night that we found him. He’s recovering at home.”
“Oh, that’s great.” ☁️ sighed, relieved. Quickly glancing at the ghostly figure in front of the two, the student wrapped an arm around the knee. “Why are his organs in such good condition after a week? His heart is still.. beating. There’s no blood pumping through it.”
“I don’t know. This is really weird, though.”
Hoshino muttered before ☁️ nodded in agreement. “Let’s get outta here.”
Hoshino stood up first, him then helping ☁️ up. It was then that ☁️ noticed the scar along the side of Hoshino’s face- it stretched from his left ear to the end of his eyebrow. The two made their way to where Heeseung and Jungwon stood, them seemingly bickering.
“Everything okay?” Hoshino interrupted before they turned their attention to ☁️.
“Yes. That’s all I’ve needed. I’ll see you two in class.” Jungwon nodded to Hoshino and ☁️, and then turned around after glancing at Heeseung.
“Ready to head home?” Heeseung smiled, motioning ☁️ forward.
“Actually, I was going to take ☁️ home.” Hoshino responded, looking from ☁️ to Heeseung.
“There’s no need if I’m around. We should get going. It’s not safe around here-“ Heeseung took a step forward and lightly grasped ☁️’s arm, leading the student away from Hoshino. ☁️ turned around to face the boy.
“I’ll see you on Monday.” ☁️ called out, attempting a smile before practically being dragged by Heeseung.
“Yeah. Right.” ☁️ heard Hoshino mutter.
Tumblr media
“I didn’t know that you were off of the market.” Hoshino teased after catching up to ☁️. The two walked to school under the trees’ pink archway- them only four or five blocks away.
“What do you mean?” ☁️ responded, half surprised to see the boy next to him.
“Heeseung… You know, you could’ve just told me.”
“We’re not dating.”
“Does he know that?”
“I think so.”
The walk was quiet for a minute before Hoshino cleared his throat.
“So..” He began. “I told you that I owe you for what happened. You need anything?”
☁️ sighed. “I.. don’t need anything. But, I do think it’s a good idea for you to lay low for a while.”
“Right...”
“As in keep to yourself. Don’t talk to teachers or other students. And don’t pick on other people.”
“I don’t pick on other people.”
☁️ looked over at Hoshino with rolled eyes.
“I just need to keep everyone in line.”
“Just a suggestion.”
“And I’ll take your suggestion seriously.”
☁️ looked over to Hoshino again.
“I never see you talk to anybody like this. Not even your goons..”
“And you’re going to ask why I’m talking to you, right?”
☁️ nodded.
“Well, I’m not sure. You have such a genuineness to you. You’re always so.. calm and composed and grounded. It’s intriguing.”
Unsure of the compliment, ☁️ nodded.
“You probably just haven’t spent much time around me, in honesty.”
“Well, I’ve been trying. Your friends seem to plot against me, though.”
☁️ nodded again, seeming to grasp what Hoshino was trying to say.
“I don’t need more rumors, so I’ll see you later.” Hoshino whispered, him then walking away from ☁️ as the two approached the campus.
☁️ walked into the building to find there wasn’t much traffic in the hallways. Checking the time, the student had a few seconds to get to class.
“Shit.”
-
The teacher walked into the classroom later than she usually had- a few minutes after the bell had rung. ☁️ slouched against the wall, awaiting her usual spiel. As she opened her mouth to speak, she was interrupted by the sliding door’s abrupt opening. Jungwon walked in with straight shoulders and a pair of clear-framed glasses. He turned his attention to ☁️, and then to the teacher as he ran a hand through his straight, black hair.
“Hello, I believe my schedule has been changed.”
“Oh right, please come and introduce yourself.”
“Hello, everyone. I’m Jungwon. I just moved here earlier this week.” Jungwon’s voice was much more bubbly than ☁️ remembered.
“Very nice to have you join us. You can choose any seat that isn’t currently taken.” The teacher responded, with an obvious uninterested tone.
Jungwon scanned the room, eventually locking eyes with ☁️. He walked over to the empty seat beside ☁️, the one Sunghoon used to sit in, and gently placed himself in it. The teacher opened her mouth to speak again, but the sliding door slammed open once more. This time, Sunghoon walked in. He looked as he usually did- black hair neat while still swaying as he moved, shoulders straight, and skin fair and flawless. The only difference were the sunglasses he wore on the tip of his nose. Upon his entrance, the entirety of the class had a reaction.
“Su-Sunghoon?” The teacher asked after freezing in place. She shook slightly, eyes locked on the boy before falling to the ground. ☁️ gasped and held a hand over the mouth at the sight of him. A student in the back of the classroom threw up beside their desk. It seemed everyone else was wide-eyed or frozen in place. Sunghoon smiled at the students’ response and approached Jungwon.
“I’d like my seat back.” Sunghoon teased, his eyes (despite them being blocking by the sunglasses) seeming to pierce through Jungwon.
“This one’s taken. There’s another over there.” Jungwon replied with a far different tone, his eyes not leaving Sunghoon’s.
“Then why don’t you go sit in it?” Sunghoon instructed, gripping Jungwon’s shoulder as he spoke. Jungwon smiled- probably out of anger, and nodded slowly while pursing his lips. He reluctantly stood up and threw his bag around his shoulder, walking to the other side of the classroom and sitting in an empty seat. The class then sat in silence, aside from the one student who began crying softly as the teacher remained on the ground.
-
Sitting across from Sunghoon and beside Jungwon, ☁️‘s stomach was left in the first classroom. The cafeteria wasn’t nearly as loud as it would be any other day, and ☁️ couldn’t eat anything. ☁️ also couldn’t tell if Sunghoon was staring at ‘em, or if it was just the sunglasses. Eventually, Sunghoon broke silence between the three.
“So, ☁️.”
☁️ froze, slowly raising his gaze from the table to Sunghoon’s face.
“I heard that the old archery teacher was still stalking students on campus. Is that true?”
A lump in ☁️’s throat, the student struggled to get words out. “I’m not sure..”
“So he hasn’t overstepped his bounds with you?”
“I haven’t actually seen him.. I’m not sure if that rumor is true.”
Sunghoon nodded after licking his lips.
“So, Jungwon.” He continued, though his next words were nothing less than pure audacity and snide. “What’re you doing here?”
Jungwon slammed his fists onto the table and slowly looked at Sunghoon.
“Well, you see. There’s this thing that continuously causes problems in this specific area. I have to make sure that every problem is resolved before I can finally get rid of that thing. Sound familiar?”
“I truly wish you the best of luck with that. You’ll really need it.”
If ☁️ didn’t know any better, ☁️ would say that they were threatening each other. Deciding it was best not to get involved, the student remained silent for the rest of the period.
As the three stood from their table upon hearing their bell, Sunghoon motioned ☁️ to follow him.
“I have to pay someone another visit.”
Despite wanting to say no, and wanting to stay away from the dead boy standing in front of him, ☁️ was too scared to oppose.
The two walked side by side away from the crowd of other students, down a separate hallway and then up a staircase. Eventually, Sunghoon and ☁️ stood outside of a classroom. After knocking lightly, Sunghoon swung the door open. The lights were off and a small lamp on the teacher’s desk was on, illuminating a corner of the dim room. ☁️ recognized the young teacher- though today, he had bandages wrapped around his neck and arms. The sleeves of his white button up were rolled up above his elbows, displaying the white wraps. He seemed to be talking to another woman, presumably another teacher.
“Could you excuse us, please?” Sunghoon asked, stepping inside of the room.
“Oh, h-hello.”
“Do you have a moment?”
“Sure..” The two teachers glanced at each other, the man clearing his throat shortly after. “I’m sure you wouldn’t mind conversing in front of another teacher, right?”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. “I do mind. We need to speak in private, Mr. Achigai.”
Exhaling, Mr. Achigai pursued his lips and nodded, signaling the woman to leave the room.
“☁️, why don’t you keep her some company?” Sunghoon looked over his shoulder, his eyes directing ☁️ out of the room as well. The student nodded and stepped out after the teacher, sliding the door shut. ☁️ eventually turned to the woman- who seemed to be middle aged. The two looked at each other for a few seconds before the woman cleared her throat.
“Have you heard the rumors surrounding that boy in there? About why he was missing?” She whispered, it almost sounding like a croak. ☁️ nodded.
“A boy doesn’t just come back to life after getting killed. You should be really careful around him.”
☁️ grimaced at her words, whispering back, “How do you know that he died?”
“When the kids talk, the staff hears about it. An accidental death in the gym isn’t something that can be covered up.”
☁️ took a few second to ponder. “If you knew about it, why hasn’t anybody reported it?”
The woman looked around. “It isn’t in our authority. We can’t just accuse an entire class, and with no evidence but what others are saying.” She paused, looking at the closed door beside the two of them. “We got lucky when someone was able to get the ringleader “arrested,” but something weird happened.”
“It was a lack of evidence, right?” ☁️ interrupted.
“Well, technically. Mr. Achigai knew a student stole some personal documents from him a week or two ago. He thinks that this student was trying to plant evidence on that ringleader, which led to the arrest.”
“And did he mention who did this to him..” Pointing to the neck and arms, ☁️ awaited a response.
“I’m sorry, it’d be inappropriate for me to name names.. but-“
“Rika, right?”
The teacher looked around and shook her head. “I’ve already told you too much.. and you’re a student. Our classes are coming back soon and I need to-”
“Wait, wait.” Holding a hand up to stop the teacher from leaving, ☁️ continued. “Rika was caught burning paper and clothes in the woods. She was trying to remove herself from the situation she was put in, but saved the ringleader in the process.”
“What situation?”
The door was abruptly swung open, and Sunghoon gazed expectantly at ☁️ and the teacher.
“Excuse the intrusion.” Sunghoon said as he faced the woman. The woman nodded, stepping aside to let Sunghoon walk out of the classroom. ☁️ turned around to see Mr. Achigai leaning against his desk, arms folded. Sunghoon motioned ☁️ to walk beside him as the woman slipped back into the classroom. As she did, her eyes met ☁️'s in a silent exchange, the two conveying a message to the other: "Use this information wisely." ☁️ caught up to Sunghoon as a bell rung.
“What did you and Mr…”
“Achigai.”
“..Mr. Achigai talk about?” ☁️ looked up at Sunghoon as students began walking down the hallway in the opposite direction. The crowd split into two as they passed ☁️ and Sunghoon, the two receiving nervous glances as they moved.
“I asked him if he knew the whereabouts of the archery teacher. I also asked if he was aware of what he was doing.”
“What’s he doing?”
Sunghoon didn’t answer until they reached the stairwell, and all of the children had passed.
“Killing students in the forest. Collecting body parts. Following me wherever I go.”
“Hoshino was right, then.”
“Speaking of. What’s your relationship with him? Seems you two have gotten awfully close.” Sunghoon looked over at ☁️ with an expressionless glare.
“I wouldn’t consider him a friend.. more of an acquaintance. Seems I’m on his good side.”
“Yeah, well. He’s not on mine.” Sunghoon mumbled as he began descending the stairs.
“Hey, Sunghoon.” ☁️ called out, making the boy stop in his tracks. He turned around, and locked eyes with ☁️. “Are we going to talk about.. you. And why you’re here?”
“I’m a gift, and you’re luck enough to have received me twice. Lucky you!” Sunghoon laughed manically as he began walking into the hallway. ☁️ flew down the steps and jogged to catch up to him, but he was nowhere to be found.
-
“Sunghoon!”
☁️ lightly jogged to catch Sunghoon down the school’s stone driveway. The boy looked over his shoulder and began walking a bit slower, allowing ☁️ to catch up.
“Hey, I haven’t seen you since you disappeared.”
“Oh, sorry. I forgot that I agreed to meet someone around that time.”
☁️ nodded.
“Ready to talk now?” Sunghoon turned his head to face ☁️, an eyebrow raised.
“Mhm.”
Stepping onto pink petals scattered across the stone beneath them, Sunghoon and ☁️ entered the cherry blossom archway- reviving their daily routine.
“Last week, Rika told us that she was following us home. The wind blew one of the bows in her hair over to our direction, and I picked it up before she could retrieve it. Later that week, I left the bow in Mr. Achigai’s room so that he suspected her of stealing from him. From what we’ve both gathered, my plan was successful. Only one person wears those bows daily, so I knew that Mr. Achigai would figure it out. I told Rika to plant the documents on Hoshino somehow, and I’m sure she would have if I didn’t get impaled by arrows. From what you’ve told me, I think she got scared, and decided to discard everything.”
“I didn’t tell you that..” ☁️ faltered.
“I’ll get to that. But last week, on my phone, I had a message to the local authorities scheduled to be sent. It was targeting Hoshino, and with the planted evidence, and the information I was providing them, he would’ve been taken care of. He’d be in despair instead of having his blood shed.”
“That’s.. a lot.”
“I thought you’d be proud of me for doing such an ethical thing.”
“I am.. but can you get to how you’re here right now?” ☁️ huffed, still curious and confused.
“All that glitters is not gold, but perhaps it’s diamond. Think of me as the diamond.“
“I’m.. still not following.”
“I won’t say anything more, but I will say that I heard everything. When I was gone and you stood on the bridge. I heard it all. That’s the only reason I can actually relay this information to you.”
“So that ghost skeleton was actually you?”
“Yes.”
“You didn’t have ears when I spoke, though. And I’m still confused.”
“You’re going to be, and that’s okay. I’m back now. That’s all you have to worry about.”
The two remained silent for a moment.
“Oh, I recall hearing that you’ve met Heeseung and Jungwon, correct?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, you’re not allowed to be near them anymore. No matter the situation.”
☁️ stopped walking with furrowed eyebrows. “What? Why?”
“They’re not normal, and they’re not friendly.” Sunghoon explained, stopping as well.
“Heeseung said he watched over me while you were gone. How’s that not friendly?”
“He only did so because you didn’t pay him mind. Also because he knew I was coming back, and if anything happened to you, then there’d be a lot for him to clean up. Jungwon isn’t friendly, no matter how bubbly his voice or how much he smiles.”
☁️ nodded, and the two continued their stroll.
“So you three know each other? Where from?”
“We’re pretty much brothers. Not literally but figuratively and.. biologically.”
“I think that statement is a bit conflicting..” ☁️ mumbled.
“All you have to know is that they’re not nice. They’re biologically not capable of sympathy or compassion. You cannot be near them.”
“So are you capable of that?”
“I’m not sure.”
“So why can I be near you and not them?”
“Because you’re apart of my purpose, now. I moved here to see what would happen. And then I met you.”
“Oh..” ☁️ sighed with rolled eyes. The two began walking again. “.. And why am I apart of your purpose?”
“Well, you’re the first person who hasn’t fallen for me upon my pursuit. You can’t be manipulated or forced to do anything you don’t want to. It’s intriguing. And I want to know why.”
“That’s how it normally goes.. you can’t force-“
“That’s not what I mean. It’s okay, you won’t understand. You’ll know one day. Or you won’t.”
The two remained silent again as ☁️’s turn came about, causing the duo to slow down to a halt. The student turned to face Sunghoon, but heard the nearby bushes rustling. Noticing ☁️’s change in gaze, Sunghoon quickly turned around and scanned the area.
“I’m taking you home.”
-
“I’m also spending the night.”
“Who said you could?”
“I have a stalker now. That means you have a stalker, too. It’ll be taken care of soon, though.”
“The way you talk is so insane.. and scary.”
With pajamas on, ☁️ walked over from the bathroom to the bed and sat down. Sunghoon pulled the curtains shut as the sky became darker.
“I’m simply being honest. It’s not like anything would happen to you, though.” Sunghoon stated, pointing to himself as a way to say “I’m right here!”
“Right..” ☁️ nodded. “I have a couch you can sleep on. I’ll give you one of my pillows and blankets, too.”
“I’ll take the bed, actually.”
“Um.. no? Go over to the living room. I’ll bring the stuff out.”
“Either I sleep in the bed or we both sleep in the bed.”
☁️ stared at Sunghoon, who was unwaveringly dead set on sleeping on the bed. Sunghoon walked over to where ☁️ sat and crossed his arms.
“Fine dead boy, it’s all yours.”
“The point was to get you to lay down with me.”
Grabbing a blanket and pillow from the bed, ☁️ walked past Sunghoon.
“I know. Have a good night.”
BONUS:
☁️ awoke to being lifted from the couch bridal style. With the blanket still wrapped around ‘em, ☁️ rubbed the eyes and opened them to see Sunghoon.
“What’re you doing?” ☁️ mumbled.
“Taking you to your bed.” Sunghoon whispered back as he softly laid ☁️ onto the bed and draped the covers over ‘em. “Goodnight.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
enhypen: jay, jake, sunghoon and niki as boyfriends
song recommendation: bite me by enhypen
Tumblr media
jay
the most boyfriendish boyfriend to exist.
he’s always there for you, whether that be you’re having a sad day and just require his presence or if something exciting has happened and you wish to tell him all about it, here’s there to listen.
of course he cooks for you, he craves your joyous reactions to whatever he makes and he goes out of his way to present the food as a restaurant would just to see the smile light up on your face.
he’s the type to enact pda more so when he gets even the slightest bit jealous. another boy looks at you a little too long when you’re shopping? an automatic death glare and a hand on your waist. he sees another boy smile at you? he kisses you in plain sight before he leads you away.
he’ll pay attention to the little details you mention in conversations and bring them up later. your heart always warms with the implication that he actually listens to you, even if you’re just rambling half the time.
jake
a perfect example of a boyfriend.
this boy is so in love with you he feels like he can’t even breathe when he’s near you. he’s always messaging the group chat with the rest of the members when he’s with you, either incoherent ramblings or just full on paragraphs about why he loves you so much. the rest of enhypen have learned to ignore it though.
you best bet if the two of you have an unscheduled day, he will not let you leave his presence. what was once an early morning turned into a late lie in because he snuggled up to you, not allowing you to escape his bear hug. a movie night turned into you and him falling asleep on the couch, his arm wrapped around your waist while the unwatched movie played in the background.
he tends to play fight with you. if the two of you are on his bed, he’ll just start wrestling with you simply because he loves the laughter you let out. after it, he’ll have your hands pinned to the bed and he’ll bend down to kiss you.
sunghoon
despite being such a tease, he’s seriously a good boyfriend to you.
he’s the perfect example of someone who taunts their partner because they love to see how riled up they get. he’s always pulling small pranks on you or just downright teasing you because he loves the reactions you pull. he would always end it with an “i’m just teasing” and pull you in for a hug.
he’s so attentive with little details. if you’re in a restaurant and sharing food, he’ll always give you more of what you love to eat. he’ll always lead you by the hand if the two of you are out in public, as well as always having his hand on your body if you’re say waiting at traffic lights.
again he just executes boyfriend acts all the time. he’s always the type to offer his coat if you’re too cold, he would rather suffer from the chill himself than witness you shivering. when out on a picnic date, he’ll let you use him as a pillow when you snuggle up to him, even if he has nothing to rest his head on himself. he’ll always put you first.
niki
even if it’s niki’s first relationship, he sure as hell knows how well to treat you.
he’ll always and i mean always give you his hoodies to wear. at this point, you have more of his hoodies hung in your wardrobe than he does. he loves seeing how big they are on you; he’s just obsessed with seeing you wear one of his possessions and knowing you probably sleep all enveloped in one, his heart can’t take it.
he has a dedicated playlist for when you come over. whenever a love song plays that just gets his heart beating, he’ll look over to you and smile, as if he’s relating the lyrics to your relationship. overall, he has to remind himself that you’re not just a dream and that he actually has you as a partner.
he’s learning to be a better boyfriend as he’s going, but his acts are just so natural sometimes. for instance: he’ll always insist you message him when you get home straight away. if you’re faced away from him when lying in bed, he’ll roll over and wrap his arm around your waist, kissing your cheek and neck while he asks what’s wrong. and lastly, he’ll have the cutest nicknames for you, he probably has a new one stored every week.

ceilings ➳ park jay
pairing: enhypen jay x gn!reader
warnings: angst, implied breakup, mentions of food and drink.
a/n: wow, it's been a while. i've been going through something similar to this and figured it would be good for me to let it out somehow. i'm sorry if this isn't up to the highest standards as i haven't written in a long time... this was inspired by celings by lizzy mcalpine. not proof-read.
he looks so beautiful. that's all you could think as you stared at your boyfriend, jay.
he'd planned a picnic for the two of you, surprising you with it once you'd gotten out of work. you hadn't been seeing each other lately, so this was like a breath of fresh air for you.
you were so lucky. how did you get so lucky?
jay had packed your favorite snacks, and your favorite drinks to match. you'd been dating for while now, but still, his attention to detail surprised you. he knew everything about you.
"hey, so i've been thinking a lot lately.." jay paused. you could tell he was nervous, so you offered him a comforting smile and a nod of your head as encouragement.
"i've really missed you these days... i don't like being away from you.. i was wondering if maybe you'd like to move in with me? i mean, not right away.. unless you want to! i just-"
"i'd love to move in with you, jay. i think waking up next to you every day would make my life better."
jay was too happy to speak, instead opting to pull you in for an excited kiss. you noted that despite the burst of energy he was having, he was still gentle with you.
you two spent the rest of the night driving around in jay's car. the windows were down, the music was blasting, and you were singing your heart out. the moment felt almost euphoric, like a scene straight out of a teen movie.
before you knew it, jay was parking his car in front of your house - the house you would soon be leaving for his. he kissed you goodnight, murmuring a quick 'i love you' before watching you get out of the car. he made sure you were inside before he drove away.
once you stepped inside your house, you couldn't stop smiling. something about jay just made you so giddy, and in this moment, you knew jay was the person you were going to spend the rest of your life with.
jay was your first and only love.
until he wasn't.
you woke up in a cold sweat, rolling over to see the other half of your bed empty. you took in your surroundings - your apartment, still the same as ever, aside from the few boxes in the corner that you'd packed before everything went downhill.
it was a dream, but you wanted nothing more than for it to be real. you wanted nothing more than to hold jay in your arms again, to feel his lips on yours one last time. you wanted to go back in time so badly, you would give anything.
but your dream served as a reminder of reality.
jay was no longer yours, and he would never be again.

Park Sunghoon x gn!reader, afab (joins bridal bouquet throw.)
It was Y/N's best friend's wedding, and Y/N and Sunghoon were having the time of their lives. Y/N was talking to Yeji and her new husband, Xeno, while Sunghoon was talking to IU and Jongsuk.
"It's time for throw the bouquet! Who's ready?" The MC announced. All the girls crowded around, and Yeji got ready to throw. Seconds passed, and the whole hall was silent, anticipating the winner. But then she turned around and handed the bouquet to Y/N, who took it with a surprised look.
Then she turned around to look for her boyfriend, only to find him standing with a ring. Nope. Not the usual kneeling down. Standing on two legs.
"Will you marry me?"
"Ysyesyesyes!" Y/N squealed, peppering his face with kisses. "Yes Park Sunghoon! I will marry you!"

Tumblr media
Your heart felt full as you looked around the room full of your favorite people.
Best friend since you could basically speak, Kim Sunoo had a huge grin on his face. His happiness is visible in his entire form, his eyes forming crescents and hands over his mouth to stifle his giggles.
Three of your other close friends, Heeseung,Jake and Jay. One's you made during your insufferable chemistry class when you were paired up as partners with Jay yet instead of getting one friend, you ended up with three somehow as if coming in like a package.
Then came Niki and Jungwon, your juniors who were also a part of your dance club. They were like your younger brothers who irritated you and you'd basically adopted them.
After everyone, of course you left the best for last, because not only was he your favorite but he was very special to you as well.
Park Sunghoon.
Your boyfriend of around ten months now.
He sat beside you, laughing along at something Niki said, eyes averting from his to yours for a brief moment, making sure not to stare for too long or it'd become suspicious.
Your fingers brushed against his briefly, feeling a sense of want to just interwine your hands but you knew you couldn't.
Not yet at least.
You see,yes the both of you were dating but, it wasn't something that was public.
You were in a secret relationship and Sunghoon definitely played the role of being your best friend who you made when you got lost in the library.
Well technically, it did start out as that, you getting lost in the library and Sunghoon then finding you and guiding you. But let's just say after that day, you both departed with butterflies and something that would soon blossom into what it was now.
Choosing to keep it private was tough. Especially from your actual best friend, Sunoo but you chose to keep it because well it's better to keep these things private isn't it?
"You're zoning out again Y/N come on, you have to pick between truth or dare!"
Exclaimed Jungwon in an enthusiastic voice which made you snap out of your thoughts.
You cleared your throat before you answered,
"Uh…I'll pick dare?"
You immediately regretted your decision, like you mostly do with your life decisions, when you noticed the mischievous expression on Niki's face.
"Well well well we finally caught them now!" He told in a sort of evil like tone as if he was able to trap you in his antics.
Rolling your eyes at his words, you sighed and clicked your tongue,
"Give me the dare already." You said, almost in a tired voice because you knew he'd give something ridiculous.
"Okay so, I dare you to…" Before Niki could finish his sentence, suddenly everything went black.
Not because you fainted though.
But because the lights went off.
"Not again!"
"What the fuck-"
"JAKE THERE'S A CHILD-"
"I'm not a kid though !?"
You could tell who said what which made you snort, so as calmly as you could, you said
"Well it looks like the power went off."
"Oh really? How ever could we have noticed so?" Said the voice beside you in an overexaggerated tone which made you hit his arm.
Sunghoon groaned at your violent behaviour, rubbing his arm,
"Ow! For a tiny human, you definitely know how to hit!"
"Okay wait guys I'll go with Jay and we'll try to figure out why the power went off again, likely because of overload or something like last time." Heeseung spoke up as he turned on his phone flashlight.
The flashlight engulfed a small section which lit up Heeseung's face and for a moment, he looked like a horror movie character.
"Jumpscare!" Niki screamed loudly which made you chuckle again, Jungwon hitting him now because he seemed to have screamed right in his ear.
"Can you turn down your volume or something?! You'll literally burst my ears!"
Jungwon whined at Niki as Heeseung rolled his eyes, already tired of their antics.
Jay got up and moved beside Heeseung carefully, making sure not to trip over anything.
"So we'll be back in a few, hopefully the lights will work, Jake you're responsible for all of them!" Heeseung said as he turned around, pointing his flashlight down the hall, which honestly seemed creepier in the dark.
"We're not kids that need babysitters!" You said as you scoffed at what Heeseung said, which you did feel a little offended by.
"He's not wrong though." Jake coughed out as you glared at him through the dark.
It was dark once again, choosing not to turn on unnecessary flashlights which would then drain your batteries.
"Wait, we'll go look for candles so at least something would be visible, be right back!"
Sunoo and Jake got up and made their way towards the kitchen which was a little further away.
"Hoon you take care of them now!"
"Hey what did I say!-"
"Yeah okay." Sunghoon replied to which you directed your anger towards him, slightly pouting at him for not taking your side.
Sunoo and Niki seemed to be in their own world as they argued on and you could hear them in the dark but chose not to say anything.
"You know, I have an idea." Sunghoon moved closer to you, using the darkness as a benefit and now pulling you into his side.
He spoke in a light tone, making sure to whisper as to not alert the other two who seemed to be in their own world arguing about some show as far as you could remember listening to.
"How about you repay for your forgiveness by kissing me right now?" His low voice sent shivers down your spine as he whispered in your ears.
"Forgiveness? What did I do that I need your forgiveness huh?" You whispered back as you moved your hand up to feel where his face would be.
Poking around before he held your hand that was now holding his cheek, he said,
"Well you did kind of hit me pretty hard back there."
"Oh please, you deserved it." You giggled as you rubbed circles on his cheek with your thumb as you sat before him your legs folded beneath you.
His were sprawled wide open which gave you the space to move between then and closer to him.
One hand resting in his shoulder, you moved your head closer to his,
"But you're lucky I love you."
You pressed your lips against his soft ones and as if it were second nature, he responded without hesitation.
His hands moved to your waist and his thumbs rubbed on the hip bones, as you squeezed his shoulder and moved one hand across his hair.
"Guys, you still awake?" Came a voice across you.
You quickly pulled away in shock, completely forgetting you weren't alone and thanked fate that they weren't able to tell how you'd just have a makeout session with your supposed best friend.
Sunghoon cleared his throat, making sure you didn't accidentally fall before he answered.
"Uh yeah haha, we got tired, I mean I got kinda tired so I dozed off and well Y/N is uh…"
"Oh I was just resting my eyes too! The um dark atmosphere is making me feel sleepy?" You said questionably trying not to sound suspicious.
Lucky for you both, they couldn't see you so they didn't say more and actually got convinced by your stupid excuses.
Being a bit far from you, they also couldn't hear the deep breaths you took when you separated which would give away what you'd been doing.
Suddenly before you could say anything or anyone could say anything, the lights came on.
"Oh wow! That actually feels like hell-"
"Oh my Gosh!! Finally!"
You had to blink to adjust your eyes to the new evasion of the sudden brightness.
Before you could speak, you turned to Sunghoon to see him when you noticed something.
MY LIPSTICK! SHIT!
Even if in the dark, no one would be able to tell whether you kissed him or not, in the light, the proof was quite visible to anyone with great eyes.
The same shade of lipstick now smudged all over his lips as yours was too destroyed. His hair being disheveled being a bonus proof.
Unfortunately for you, you weren't the only ones there and before you could even point it out, someone else did it for you.
"Uh hyung were you trying to apply lipstick in the dark in your sleep or something-"
Niki spoke up innocently which made a confused Jungwon look at what Niki was observing as he was previously looking at the kitchen down the hall to see when Jake and Sunoo would be back now that there was no need for candles.
He blinked once and he blinked twice. His gaze averted to yours who was already looking away while gulping as he zoned in on your lips and once again looked back at his hyung.
Wait.
His eyes widened in realization and his jaw dropped quite literally.
"Niki that's not!" Interruptions were always the worst but they seemed even worse when you saw all four of the ones who had gone walk in at comically the same time.
"Finally we got the lights working again!"
"Yeah right that's because of me hyung who did all the hard work."
"We couldn't find the candles but now we don't even need them!"
"Obviously genius."
Jay rolled his eyes as he looked at Jungwon who seemed to be in a sort of comical expression of shock which made him snort.
He followed his gaze as he now looked at a slightly horrified Sunghoon who was looking at you.
You just blinked back at him, not sure what to say or do because obviously one person was already able to catch on to what was going on, or what had happened in the dark.
Now making that three as Niki who seemed to remain in oblivion until he saw the same shade on your lips.
And the cherry on top of this disastrous sundae was Jay figuring it out, Jay who couldn't for the love of all things beautiful, shut his mouth.
"Did you two fucking kiss?!"
"Language!" Heeseung said before anything and once he realized what Jay had said, he too looked at the both of you now.
Your head snapped towards Jay as you looked at him sheepishly.
Jake and Sunoo, who were once arguing, looked at the both of you and suddenly it felt like everything was already over.
"No! What-"
Sunghoon fake scoffed as he blew a raspberry.
"Uh…yes?"
You gulped as you fiddled with your hands, seeing no point in lying as you looked back at Sunghoon who'd spoken the opposite.
He sighed as he just nodded,
"Yeah we did."
There was a pause after his agreement before Jake loudly exclaimed,
"Alright give me my 100 bucks! Jay and Hee pay up!"
Groaning Jay spoke up,
"I am telling you I won't be giving you a penny because I never bet they were in a relationship or not, it was already obvious they were!'
"Hey now come on, sometimes we make decisions…" Heeseung smiled almost sheepishly.
"Gross the both of you were infront of us!!"
Niki said disgusted as he judged the both of you.
"Oh thank gosh I haven't had to see them kiss or else I'd actually pour bleach in my eyes." Jungwon sighed in relief as he too then agreed with Niki.
Sunghoon and you looked at each other, quite obviously confused as to why no one seemed to be mad about not telling them sooner.
Lucky for you, Sunoo seemed to have read your mind and replied,
"Oh don't worry, we aren't mad or anything if that's what you're worried about, it's your relationship, you can reveal it to us whenever but just saying you were both pretty obvious from the get go! And oh! These three had bet on it too!"
"I never was involved!" Jay exclaimed in between and then went back to arguing his way out of Jake's gaslighting.
"You all knew?" Sunghoon asked, still stunned at how…normal everyone was behaving.
"Please, getting them gifts and flowers, them wearing your clothes and even more gross coupley stuff wasn't obvious enough then call us stupid." Sunoo told him and he sighed,
"Oh these three are giving me a headache, I need something to drink, be right back and of course congratulations on your reveal!" He said happily as he turned around to head back to the kitchen.
You paused and looked back at Sunghoon who seemed to do the same.
"It was that easy huh?" He was stunned and the look on his face only made it more hilarious,so honestly you couldn't help it.
Bursting out in giggles, you felt relieved at how your relationship was revealed, wondering if you should have done it sooner or ever even hid it.
At your giggles, Sunghoon soon seemed to smile as he shook his head, hearing the argument going on in the room with Niki and Jungwon both now poking into the argument.
You didn't just feel your heart being full now, it felt like you had a weight lifted off your shoulders and looking back at Sunghoon, you were more than grateful for whatever that happened.
And wait.
It seemed that the shade of lipstick suited him more now, maybe you should properly apply it on his lips again, of course using your favourite method which was placing your lips on his, like always.

👻 the title of this part is actually about me. i've been wanting a completed challenge since 2017. finally it's done, so i'm really happy.
👻 thanks to @honeytwo and @wonsheep for always being there for me when i had to stick the material under their noses! thanks to everyone who read this collection! <3
👻 i have prepared a special section for today: two monsters - separately. one is a siren (seonghwa) and the other is a vampire (sunghoon). i have tried to stay within the fluff.
👻 happy halloween!
👻 flufftober masterlist | main masterlist

1. Gorgeous
He looked at the fish first, then at you, the one who gave it to him.
"Eat." You confirmed as you sat down on one of the rocks along the shore and smiled, giving him a pat.
Seonghwa took one last tentative look at the still, slimy tuna, then his hunger overwhelmed him, his teeth snapping as he began to tear the flesh from his prey.
In just a few minutes, all that's left are the bones and a few splinters, and he drags the battered skeleton ashore. Embarrassed, he doesn't dare look at you. He hadn't planned to feed at any time before you. His kind is barbaric in the way it carves meat.
He's a real monster.
"You're leaving already?" Your voice is tinged with surprise and disappointment as you notice the siren backing away.
Seonghwa looks up at this and sees that you've settled in, got your sketchbook out and are busily working on something.
"Are you not afraid of me?" he asks again.
"No."
Seonghwa wipes some blood from his face.
"And are you not disgusted either? If you don't want my company anymore, let me know and I'll leave. You don't have to bring any more fish."
"I like your company. And I've never met anyone as gorgeous as you. I want you to stay."
The siren blushes - he's never been called gorgeous - he nods, then swims back to shore, even sits out, leaving only the end of his snake-like, heavy fin in the water. He looks up at you.
"What would you like me to tell you about?"
✁- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
2. Nightmares
You kneel before the coffin on the cold stone. Your fingers softly caressing the cedar tree, tears streaming down your cheeks.
"I'm very sorry to bother you, master. I've had another bad dream, and I can't help myself. I thought that maybe you could help me somehow..."
The lid of the coffin rises with a creak, and a graceful, handsome man comes out from the red velvet lining. His face devoid of emotion, his red eyes fixed on your mortal face. Finally he holds out his palm, offering you a seat beside him in the cramped coffin.
"Thank you, my lord." You place your hand in the other's gratefully, even a small smile appears on the edge of your trembling lips.
The vampire pulls you in beside him, letting your hot body press tight against his. He doesn't even mind that his clothes will be wet from tears. He closes the cover and the cold darkness falls over you.
Here in Sunghoon's cold arms, snuggled against his chest, you feel much safer in the crypt than in your soft and warm bed. In the monster's hands, the promise of nightmares doesn't haunt you.

Down the stone path lined with cherry blossom trees, pink petals fluttered sporadically in the crisp spring breeze. The walk to class was always silent, though ☁️ would catch the new student walking in the distance. It was a peculiar change to the old, tedious morning routine that he was used to- partially due to the mystery that was Sunghoon.
Sunghoon was never one to look disheveled or disoriented. His skin was always glowing- so much that it often reflected light, his lengthy figure was adored by many, and his mannerisms were always gracious. To put it simply, the boy was elegant. ☁️ had heard of the many rumors surrounding his family, appearance, and connections, but never paid them mind.
It’s been a month since ☁️’s final year of school had begun, and it’s been two weeks since ☁️ had noticed Sunghoon’s presence on the cherry blossom path. Though the walks continued to be in silence, peculiarity struck the daily routine once again.
Trudging around puddles and small piles of flowers petals on a cloudy Thursday morning, ☁️’s focus remained on the stone path below. Imagine ☁️’s surprise upon almost bumping into Sunghoon, who raised an eyebrow at the action. ☁️ stumbled back and immediately matched Sunghoon’s gaze, rather embarrassed.
“Ah, I’m sorry.” ☁️ stammered, walking around Sunghoon.
“I was waiting for you.”
Sunghoon placed his hands in his pocket as ☁️ turned around.
“Oh.. why’s that?”
“We walk down this path at the same time everyday. Wouldn’t it be nice to travel together?” Sunghoon questioned monotonously.
Aside from the confusion, there was an underlying anticipation ☁️ felt when speaking to Sunghoon. It was also ☁️’s first time hearing his voice- his tone soft yet assertive.
“Yeah.. I guess it would.”
Sunghoon burst out laughing and shook his head.
“Did you really think that I’d want to walk beside you? And everyday at that?” Sunghoon took his hands out of his pocket and crossed his arms, an amused look across his face. “What humor you have.”
☁️ grimaced at the comment, looking around.
“You said you were waiting for me, though..” ☁️ muttered, anticipation transforming into anger.
“I did.” Sunghoon responded, his gaze not leaving ☁️’s. With furrowed eyebrows and rolling eyes, ☁️ took a step away from the man, about to walk away.
“I don’t want to be late, let’s go.” Sunghoon said, grabbing ☁️’s arm and continuing down the stone path. The two now walking side by side, ☁️ shook Sunghoon’s grip away as the awkward interaction began causing headache.
The rest of the walk was silent, and Sunghoon’s gesture of waiting for ☁️ became a daily occurrence. Upon arriving to the school each day, the two would give the other a look of “goodbye” to then go their separate ways.
Tumblr media
“Is this seat taken?”
☁️ looked up to see Sunghoon standing across the cafeteria table, holding a food tray. It had been a week since the two of them began walking together.
“No.”
“Good. I was going to sit here regardless.”
An eyebrow raised, ☁️ watched as Sunghoon sat and began nipping at a salad.
“So I was wondering..” The boy began.
☁️ looked up again.
“How close are you to Hoshino?”
“Nobody’s close to Hoshino.” ☁️ responded, watching as Sunghoon continued between bites.
“What do you mean?”
“Unless you’re in his posse, I’d doubt that you’d ever get the opportunity to be ‘close’ to him. I heard that even his members don’t speak that often to him.”
“Do you think it’s by choice?”
“I don’t know. What’s it to you?” ☁️ tilted his head as Sunghoon pushed his tray aside.
“I don’t like him, he’s the root of this place’s problems.”
“Yeah, well, nobody else likes him- so you’re not alone.”
The two sat in silence as ☁️ looked around the busy cafeteria, catching the glare of Rika, a girl in their grade. Of all the times ☁️ recalled seeing her around, Rika always had two bows on each side of her long black hair, it becoming a staple in her appearance. Though, today, it seemed only one bow hung from the left side of her two pigtails.
“Is Rika staring again?” Sunghoon asked, glancing over to ☁️. “I can feel it.”
“She is.”
“Did you know that she’s quite psychotic? An absolute whacko.”
“What do you mean?”
“She’s horribly obsessive- I catch her stalking me on occasion. I heard that it’s because she likes me, but who doesn’t?” Sunghoon smiled, amused by his own comment. “She’s an odd girl.”
“Yeah.. you should probably tell someone about that..” ☁️ suggested, looking over and catching her gaze once again.
“It’s alright. I usually lose her on the way home.”
Sighing, ☁️ sat with pursed lips in silence. The two were quiet until the end of the lunch period, them later walking side by side through the school hallways.
“Hey, ☁️!”
☁️ turned around to see Hoshino and three other boys approach the two of them. Initially startled, ☁️ maintained composure.
“You didn’t introduce me to your new friend.” Hoshino laughed, him now standing only inches in front of ☁️. He leaned onto a locker with his arms crossed, eyeing up ☁️ and then Sunghoon.
“His name is Sunghoon.”
“Ah, Sunghoon. The pleasure’s all mine.” Hoshino exclaimed sarcastically, holding a hand out to the boy.
“The pleasure would be mine if I didn’t think you were a bastard.” Sunghoon sneered, followed by light laughter. ☁️ stood frozen in fear as Hoshino’s shocked expression turned into one of anger. Pulling a knife from his back pocket, he pushed Sunghoon against the wall, holding it at his throat.
“Hoshino, he’s new to the school. He doesn’t know better.” ☁️ pleaded, taking steps toward the boy. Two of Hoshino’s members grabbed at ☁️’s shoulders, stopping ‘em from moving any closer.
“I don’t give warnings. Consider it your first and last.” Hoshino said, pushing Sunghoon into the wall again and backing away. He then turned to ☁️, who was still held back by the other boys. “Keep your friend in line, or you’re next.” Hoshino whispered, tapping the blade against ☁️’s lips. “K?”
Feeling their grip loosen, ☁️ watched as Hoshino turned and began down the hallway beside his posse. As soon as the group was out of sight, ☁️ turned to Sunghoon.
“I’m gonna kill you.”
“Do you think I’m scared of a little blade?” Sunghoon muttered, wiping blood off of ☁️’s lips with his thumb. He then put his thumb into his mouth, making ☁️ wince. Luckily, there were only a few people lingering in the hallways, none of them seeming to notice. Sunghoon laughed and began walking away. “I’ll see you later!”
☁️ sighed. About to walk to class, another hand gripped ☁️’s shoulder.
“Hey, ☁️.”
☁️ turned to see that strange girl, Rika.
“You’re not dating Sunghoon, right?”
“Uhm.. no, I’m not.” ☁️ responded, raising an eyebrow.
“Okay, I just didn’t want anything bad happening to you. You know.” Rika smiled and patted ☁️’s shoulder, her silver braces shining as she did so.
“I don’t know what you mean, actually.”
“As long as you’re not taking him away, there’s no need for you to worry about it.” Rika whispered, followed by a boisterous laugh. “No need for you to worry. Bye-bye.”
☁️ watched as Rika hurried down the hallway, throwing her pink satchel back over her shoulder.
“How odd this school is.” ☁️ huffed.
Tumblr media
“I really don’t think he would do such a thing.”
Another week had passed since ☁️ and Sunghoon had officially become.. acquainted. As of recently, they’d had eaten lunch, walked around, and traveled to and from school together, daily. It had also been a week since their first run-in with Hoshino, whose glares in the hallways meant he didn’t forget, either. ☁️ felt this time drag- almost as if Sunghoon had bestowed a curse upon ‘em the day they first met. The boy simply seemed to attract both unwanted attention and problems.
Just the day prior, Sunghoon supposedly got one of Hoshino’s posse members kicked out of the school, somehow. Despite not being involved in the situation, ☁️ had been on the receiving end of stares and gossip ever since. The story told didn’t make much sense, and ☁️ didn’t want to ask Sunghoon about it just yet.
“Why not? Everyone knows about the rising tensions between him and Hoshino. It would make sense for him to snitch.” One of the girls in ☁️’s class whispered back as they awaited the arrival of their teacher. “I heard he manipulated a few teachers into searching the boy’s belongings. Apparently, they found knives and even gun.”
☁️ looked around the room, and then back at the girl as she continued.
“I don’t know if it’s true, but I heard that Hoshino has been planning on getting him back. I’m sure you could guess what’ll happen.”
The girl leaned back into her seat, raising her eyebrows.
“Is there anything else you can give me?” ☁️ whispered, despite knowing that this information was all that she’d provide for today.
“Even if I wanted to give you more, I can’t. That’s really all I got.”
“How much do I owe you?”
“Just $5. I’ll give you a discount so that I don’t end up on Sunghoon’s naughty list. People are saying that he’ll become the next Hoshino.. I’m not sure why you spend so much time with him in honestly.”
Grabbing a few dollars bills, ☁️ quickly slid the money to the girl from a back-pocket.
“A pleasure doing business with ‘ya.”
“It’s unnecessary to worry about what other people say, ☁️.” Sunghoon muttered, rolling his eyes. The two sat across from each other at lunch, as they usually do.
“But accusations can have consequences. Especially since it’s involving Hoshino.”
Sunghoon put his fork down and looked up to ☁️ with a blank expression. The boy then glanced around, quickly.
“Would you like to skip next period with me? I have an errand that I have to run.”
“Not really. I’m assuming, since you asked, that you’ll need help. Right?”
“Perceptive. I’m thoroughly impressed.”
☁️ frowned. “What is it?”
“I just need to pay a teacher a visit. Just keep lookout for me.”
“Tell me what you’ll be doing, Hoonie.”
“I told you that I hate that nickname.”
☁️ shrugged, as if saying “I don’t care.” Sunghoon continued.
“It’s just to talk about Hoshino. It’ll be quick.”
“Hm.. fine. Please be quick, though.”
“Aw, that’s truly so sweet of you. Thanks for always being there for me, ☁️.”
☁️ rolled his eyes, ignoring Sunghoon’s superficial praise. Standing up suddenly, the boy motioned ☁️ to follow him.
“Let’s just leave lunch early.”
☁️ stood beside Sunghoon upon arriving to a classroom on the highest floor. After the boy knocked on the door, a younger-looking teacher slid it open slightly, him holding a few textbooks.
“Hey, can I help you two?”
“Yes, we’ve spoken a few days ago. Do you have a moment?”
“I’m sorry, I don’t remember speaking to you, and I’m a bit busy with grading. Could you two come b-“
“No, I’m sorry. You actually do have a moment.” Sunghoon pushed the door open, making the man stumble back and drop his books.
“The hell are you doing?” ☁️ muttered, grabbing Sunghoon’s arm. Sunghoon approached the teacher, shoving ☁️’s hand off of him as he walked towards the man. Picking his books up while squatting on the floor, the teacher looked up to Sunghoon, who towered over him. ☁️ was taken aback as he watched Sunghoon bent down as well. He placed a hand on the man’s shoulder, whispering to him.
“Be the lookout, ☁️.” Sunghoon instructed, not taking his eyes off of the teacher. In disbelief, ☁️ took a step back and walked out of the door, closing it so that it was barely open ajar.
Sunghoon walked back out a few minutes later, a cellphone and tan folder in hand. The boy tossed an object on the floor as ☁️ took a peak behind him, seeing the teacher slouched over a desk. Noticing ☁️’s gaze, Sunghoon closed the door lightly.
“He’s fine, just resting for another minute. We should go before he wakes up.”
“You didn’t hurt him, right?
“Of course not. I needed his help.”
☁️ looked around, seeing that the hallway was empty as the two begun down it.
“So, why didn’t he remember you?”
“I manipulated him into helping me before. That’s probably why he didn’t recall our previous meetings.”
“What do you mean manipulate?”
“Why’re you grilling me?”
“Because I don’t understand what’s going on. This is too much, Sunghoon.”
“You’ll know when it happens, just like everyone else.”
The two descended down the staircase in silence, ☁️ still not satisfied with the lack of information.
“We’re only a few minutes late to archery class. See? I told you that it wouldn’t be long.”
☁️ nodded.
“Anyway, I suspect Rika to be around here somewhere, don’t say anything else about it.” Sunghoon whispered, leaning into ☁️’s ear.
“Sunghoon!” Rika called out from behind them, as if on que. She hurried over to them from down the hallway, holding a plastic bag in hand. Still missing a bow, Rika looked ☁️ up and down with a dismissive look. “You had something for me?”
Sunghoon took the bag she held and placed the tan file and phone inside of it.
“That’s all. You’ll have it back tomorrow.”
Rika nodded and smiled, continuing down the hallway as if the conversation had never happened.
“What was the point of getting that file if you were just going to give it to her?” ☁️ asked, watching Rika disappear in the distance. The two continued, walking slowly as they conversed.
“I already read it. And I don’t want that teacher suspecting me of taking it.”
“Why wouldn’t he remember you being in there?”
“I manipulated him, remember?”
☁️ face palmed. “You don’t have powers, Hoonie. You’re gonna get us in a lot of trouble.”
“Yes I do. I’m special, remember?”
“I really hope narcissism isn’t clouding your judgment.” ☁️ sighed.
Sunghoon stopped walking, seemingly offended. “Nothing could cloud my judgment.”
“That’s something a narcissist would say.”
Sunghoon stepped in front of ☁️, opening the gymnasium doors and gesturing forward.
“Thank you.” ☁️ muttered, catching the teacher’s glare as they stepped inside. The teacher was older- probably in his 50’s. ☁️ watched as the man hurried to the two of them with compound bows under his arms.
“Since you two decided to show up, help me gather the rest of the materials.” The man said, motioning the two to follow him into the equipment room. “You, grab the box of arrows since it’s heavy.” He said, pointing at Sunghoon. He then pointed to ☁️ before gesturing toward additional compound bows. “You can put the last two bows on the rack out there, follow me back please.”
The three walked back to the group of students who waited in the middle of the gymnasium floor.
“Alright everyone! Split into two groups of eight.” The teacher instructed.
“Make sure we aren’t in Hoshino’s group.” Sunghoon muttered, pulling ☁️ away from the crowd of students. After a minute, the class was divided.
“This group has nine, one of you go over there.” The teacher said, looking at ☁️. A student awkwardly shuffled over to the other group. “Okay, good. This side is shooting first, and then that side. Grab a bow and an arrow and line up.”
“We’re shooting first.” ☁️ looked over to Sunghoon, who stared intently at the windows on the other side of the room. Patting Sunghoon’s arm, ☁️ knocked the boy out of his daze. “What’s wrong?”
“I thought I saw something outside.” Sunghoon replied, shaking his head. The two followed the group of students over to the rack of bows, grabbing one alongside an arrow. The teacher called out commands, and the students raised their bows. The target in front of them was tall and wide, with three circles of red white and blue. Sitting on the other side of the room with their backs against the window, the other students watched.
“Shoot!”
☁️ released the arrow, though someone else’s collided coincidently with it, causing ☁️’s to fall to the ground. Laughing it off, ☁️ turned to Sunghoon.
“How did you do?”
“I got a bullseye.”
☁️ looked over to the target, seeing a singular arrow in the blue center.
“That’s impressive.” ☁️ muttered, turning to Sunghoon once again. The boy was looking over his shoulder- his gaze fixated on the group of students against the window. “What do you keep looking at?”
“You didn’t see that guy standing outside?”
☁️ looked over, not seeing anybody over the standing students’ heads. “No.”
Sunghoon ran a hand through his hair as the students placed their bows on the ground and took a step away. Sunghoon and ☁️ followed their movements, awaiting the teacher’s directions.
“Okay, second group, it’s your turn.”
About to walk toward the wall alongside the others, Sunghoon gripped at ☁️’s shoulder.
“I’m not going over there until I see that boy again.”
“What if you’re just seeing things?”
“I’m not, I know I saw him.”
“Even if there was a boy, so what? You’d see him better if we go over there.”
“You don’t understand.”
☁️ shrugged, walking away from the bows so that other students could use them. Sunghoon followed, standing diagonally to the second group. Only a few feet to the right of the target, ☁️ caught Hoshino’s gaze and immediately looked away.
The teacher began shouting commands as Sunghoon’s gaze didn’t come off of the window in the distance. The teacher stood behind the engrossed students as he called out, despite not seeing the actual target.
“There he is.” Sunghoon muttered, jogging a few steps forward and walking towards the window. ☁️ looked over to see a tall boy in a black school suit towering behind the students standing against the wall. His mahogany hair blew in the wind as his steady gaze didn’t leave Sunghoon’s. It was an eerie scene, one that filled ☁️ with fear as the stranger peeked into the room.
“Shoot!”
☁️ flinched as droplets of red sprinkled across the face and neck possessed. Pinned against the target, Sunghoon twitched as red trickled down his body. Perceiving the horror a few feet in the distance, ☁️ cupped a hand over the mouth that gasped. The students holding bows cried out or turned around to avoid the scene. Those sitting against the window all stood up, some covering their eyes and some rushing over to get a better look. The man on the other side of the window was no longer present.
“What the hell..” The teacher choked, stepping through the line of students to see Sunghoon impaled by their arrows. With a throat becoming drier by the second, ☁️ walked over to the line of students. Arrows had gone through Sunghoon’s eye, neck, shoulder, stomach, leg, and both sides of his arms. Someone behind ☁️ threw up.
“What the hell did you do..” The teacher croaked again, looking at the students beside ☁️.
“You said to shoot!” One girl cried out.
“He just ran in front of the board. It wasn’t our fault.” Another boy muttered.
☁️ turned to see Hoshino approach Sunghoon’s body- it no longer twitching.
“We’ll just get rid of the body. Guys, help me get him off of this.”
“The hell are you talking about?” One of his mob members shouted, his voice shaky.
“Unless you all wanna go to jail, I suggest you help get rid of the body.” Hoshino shouted back, him then slowly removing each arrow from Sunghoon’s body. A few boys walked beside him, helping the boy set Sunghoon’s lifeless figure onto the floor.
“Someone get the tarp cover from the equipment room.” Hoshino ordered after turning his head, glaring at the crowd that now stood behind him. A girl beside ☁️ nodded and sprinted over to the room.
“Nobody go anywhere! We are not getting rid of anything!” The teacher roared, pushing a few of the boys surrounding Hoshino away from Sunghoon’s body. Hoshino quickly stood up, pulling a switchblade from his back pocket and holding it at the teacher’s neck.
“Either you help us or you suffer the same fate.” Hoshino looked around. “That goes for everyone!”
The girl ran back with a black tarp, unraveling it so that Hoshino’s members could drag Sunghoon onto it.
“What the fuck is happening.” ☁️ whispered to himself, watching as other students began helping to wrap the body.
“This is so fucked up.” A boy beside ☁️ whispered in response.
“There’s a door leading outside in the equipment room, right?” Hoshino asked the teacher, his switchblade still pointed at him. The teacher simply nodded his head.
“Alright, everyone outside! Now!” Hoshino yelled, jogging over to his members. He whispered to them before turning to the crowd of students. Pointing to the tarp, he called out again. “I need a few people to carry this into the mountain.”
Students stepped up and kneeled beside the tarp cover. Lifting it, they began into the equipment room, guided by two of Hoshino’s members. Hoshino stood behind, watching as everyone filed into the room and out the door. ☁️ was the one of the last students to leave, exhaling upon observing the small puddle of blood that dripped down the target and onto the floor.
“Go.” Hoshino said, waving the switchblade at ☁️ as he and the teacher walked passed. ☁️ followed them into the room and out of the metal door, one of Hoshino’s members then closing the door behind them. ☁️ watched as the group walked into the forested area a few feet in the distance, barely trailing behind. Hoshino noticed, him turning around and walking towards ☁️.
“I guess I need to chaperone you.” Hoshino muttered upon gripping ☁️’s arm, the two of them then rushing up the hill and through the forest. They eventually caught up to the group, a fire having been started. Hoshino let go of ☁️ after he stood beside his members.
“We’re going to give everyone a part to hide. If your part gets found, you’re dead. After you hide it, and hide it well, you can go home. Wash your hands and clothes immediately. The teacher and my group will clean the gymnasium- if you’d like to help you can. Everyone understand?” Hoshino shouted, watching as most of the class nodded their heads. He then began unwrapping the body with the help of a few other students. ☁️ had to turn around upon seeing Hoshino’s men begin digging their knives into the boy’s already decomposing body.
A few minutes had passed since the boys had begun severing, and ☁️ remained opposite to them. People began walking away with small parts of Sunghoon in their hands. One with a few fingers and another with his two ears. It made ☁️ want to gag at the sight, but the shock taking over ☁️’s body prevented anything further from happening.
“Hey, ☁️.”
☁️ turned around to see Hoshino standing in the way of what remained of Sunghoon’s body. Avoiding eye contact, ☁️ noticed the organs in the boy’s hands.
“Since you were closest with him, I’m giving you his heart and brain.”
Looking to the right, ☁️ felt Hoshino drop the organs into open hands.
“If it makes you feel better, I was going to do it eventually. Maybe I could make it up to you sometime.” Hoshino sighed, seemingly displeased with the lack of acknowledgment he was receiving. ☁️’s eye twitched in response to his words.
“You could never.”
☁️ turned back around, continuing aimlessly into the forest. Attempting to go back the way the group came to avoid getting lost, ☁️ trudged down the hill they walked up- finding a dirt path. ☁️ walked down it, finding a gorgeous stone bridge. A stream flowed heavily below the structure, though, ☁️ didn’t have the heart to throw the items into it. Instead, ☁️ walked across the bridge and sat in the grass- a foot away from where the water rushed through. It was then that ☁️ noticed the flat surface under the bridge’s abutment, untouched by the roaring water. Walking over to it, the space was only a little shorter than ☁️. With a deep breath, ☁️ kneeled down and climbed onto the stone surface, placing the brain and heart beside each other.
Hoshino’s words replayed in ☁️’s head. Walking back onto the bridge, ☁️ took a few steps forward and rested heavy arms on the cool stone structure. If even Hoshino noticed Sunghoon and ‘em spending a lot of time together, then ☁️ assumed that everyone had noticed, as well. Though, in reality, ☁️ and Sunghoon never really got close. He would only accompany ☁️ at lunch and on the walk home, and even then, their conversations were never in-depth. Still, ☁️ was fearful of what was to come. If someone were to find out, then what would happen? Sunghoon’s family will be looking for him, right? How is Hoshino going to keep everyone quiet? And why would Sunghoon act so carelessly upon seeing that boy? What made him so important?
Lost in the roaring of the waters, ☁️ didn’t notice a boy walk behind ‘em. The boy stopped a few feet away, leaning onto the guardrail and looking out into the distance. Upon glancing over, ☁️ recognized the boy’s mahogany hair. Both shocked and a bit scared, ☁️ took a step back.
“You know,..” The boy began. “..you really shouldn’t worry. He’ll be back.”
The boy turned to ☁️, pushing off of the bridge’s stone guardrail and walking over to ‘em. He held out his lengthy hand, which ☁️ took hesitantly and shook lightly. “My name is Heeseung.”
“☁️…. And what do you mean?”
“Sunghoon. You’ll know when he’s back, and when he is, you better spend that time with him wisely.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You’re not going to. And that’s okay.”
The two sat in silence before Heeseung continued.
“Your school’s going to be a shit show for a while. Try not to die, otherwise there’d be nobody to welcome Sunghoon back.”
“Who are you?” ☁️ growled, taking another step back.
“Who was Sunghoon?” Heeseung replied, his voice just as monotonous as Sunghoon’s was.
☁️ remained silent, unsure of how to respond. Thinking about it.. they were something like friends, and ☁️ considered Sunghoon to be.. many things. ☁️’s crush amongst those many things.
“I’ll be around when you find out. Good luck.”
Heeseung strolled backwards as he and ☁️ kept gazes on each-other, him eventually turning around and continuing across the bridge. ☁️ watched his figure become smaller as he walked up the hill, fading behind the trees.
It seemed that people had become lost in their flawed tendencies since the new student’s arrival; His enigmatic spirit and flawless features made him impossible to miss- enchanting students and teachers alike. Uncanny in many ways, the boy’s name was Sunghoon, and even in his death, his curse remained potent.

hee ☁ seung
heeseung froze when he saw the look on your face — hurt, betrayal, disbelief. “you knew?” he asked quietly, his voice barely audible.
“you lied to me,” you said, your voice trembling as you held back tears. “dating me was just a bet?”
heeseung’s head fell into his hands as he sank onto the edge of the couch. “at first, yes,” he admitted, his voice shaky and almost panicked. “but it wasn’t supposed to turn into… this.”
“into what?” you demanded, your eyes narrowing as the frustration bubbled over. “into me falling for you while you were laughing behind my back?”
“no!” he shouted, his voice loud enough to startle you. he stood abruptly, his face pale as he struggled to meet your eyes. “i swear it was never like that. it was stupid — immature. i didn’t think… i didn’t think i’d fall for you the way i did.”
you scoffed, crossing your arms as tears spilled over. “how am i supposed to believe anything you say now?”
he took a hesitant step closer, his hands raised as if to reach for you but stopping midway. “because i know i don’t deserve your trust, but i love you. that’s real. it’s the only thing i’m sure of,” he said, his voice shaking. “if you walk away right now, i won’t blame you, but please, don’t think for a second that what i feel for you isn’t real.”

jay ☁
“why didn’t you tell me?” you asked, your voice cold but laced with pain. “were you ever going to?”
jay’s jaw tightened as he leaned against the wall, staring at the floor. “i wanted to, but i didn’t know how,” he admitted, his tone subdued.
“right, because lying to me was easier,” you shot back, your arms crossed tightly over your chest.
jay finally looked up, his dark eyes filled with regret. “it wasn’t like that,” he said firmly. “at first, yeah, it was a bet. but i didn’t think it would turn into this. into me actually caring about you.”
“you cared so much you kept it a secret,” you said bitterly.
he pushed off the wall, closing the distance between you. “because i was scared of this,” he said, gesturing between you. “of losing you before i could show you how much you mean to me. i know it’s my fault and i messed up, but you’ve got to believe me when i say i’ve never felt this way about anyone before.”
you hesitated, his words conflicting with your anger. “you broke my trust, jay,” you whispered.
“i know,” he said, his voice soft but unwavering. “and i’ll do whatever it takes to earn it back. just give me a chance to prove to you that i’m not the guy who made that stupid bet anymore.”

sung ☁ hoon
sunghoon’s face turned pale when you confronted him. “is it true?” you asked, your voice trembling. “was dating me just some kind of bet to you?”
he froze, his usually calm demeanor crumbling. “who told you that?” he asked quietly, his voice barely above a whisper.
“so it’s true,” you said, the hurt in your eyes making his stomach twist.
“at first, yes,” he admitted, his gaze dropping to the floor. “but it wasn’t like that for long. i swear, everything i feel for you now… it’s real.”
you let out a bitter laugh, tears slipping down your cheeks. “how convenient for you. do you know how humiliating this is for me?”
“i know,” he said, his voice trembling as he took a step closer. “and i hate myself for it. for being so stupid, for not telling you sooner. but please, believe me when i say i never meant to hurt you.”
“how can i believe anything you say now?” you shot back.
he hesitated, his eyes pleading. “because i wouldn’t be standing here like this if i didn’t care about you,” he said, his voice breaking. “you mean everything to me. i know i don’t deserve your forgiveness, but i’ll do whatever it takes to make this right. just… don’t walk away from me.”

jake ☁
the moment jake saw the text on your phone, he knew the truth had come out. “you know,” he said, his voice hollow as he approached you.
you turned to face him, eyes blurring with tears. “how could you do this to me?”
jake’s chest tightened at the sight of your pain. he had never seen you cry. “it wasn’t supposed to go this far,” he said quickly, his voice desperate. “it was a dumb bet, and i was stupid to agree to it. but i swear, everything after that… it’s real. you have to believe me.”
“how can i?” you asked, your voice cracking as you almost felt nauseous from the news sinking in. “you lied to me from the start, jake. i thought you cared about me.”
“i do!” he exclaimed, stepping closer. his hands hovered near yours, but he didn’t dare touch you. “i care about you so much it scares me. that’s why i didn’t tell you — i didn’t know how to admit i’d messed up so badly.”
you shook your head, your eyes full of hurt. “i can’t even look at you right now.”
jake’s shoulders slumped, his voice trembling. “i don’t blame you,” he said softly. “but if there’s even the smallest part of you that feels the way i do, please… let me fix this. let me prove i’m not that guy that you think i am. i don’t want to lose you.”

su ☁ noo
sunoo knew something was wrong the moment you looked at him, your usual warmth replaced with cold distance. “what’s going on?” he asked nervously.
“i know,” you said bluntly, holding up your phone with a message that revealed everything. “dating me was just a bet to you.”
his breath hitched, and he immediately shook his head. “it’s not like that anymore,” he said quickly, his voice filled with panic.
“then what was it like?” you demanded, your voice breaking. “was it all just a joke to you?”
“no,” he said firmly, stepping closer. “it was never a joke, even in the beginning. i know i was wrong — so wrong — but i didn’t think it would turn into this. into me falling for you.”
you crossed your arms, tears welling in your eyes. “how am i supposed to believe that?”
sunoo’s own eyes filled with tears as he clasped his hands together, almost in prayer. “because i’ve never cared about anyone the way i care about you,” he said, his voice cracking. “you make me want to be better—to deserve you. please don’t give up on us because of my stupid mistake.”

jung ☁ won
jungwon could feel the tension radiating from you as soon as you walked in. “what’s wrong?” he asked cautiously.
you turned to him, holding your phone tightly. “were you ever going to tell me?”
his heart dropped. “tell you what?” he asked hesitantly, though he already knew.
“that this whole thing — us — was just a bet?” you said, your voice trembling with anger and pain.
jungwon’s lips parted, but no words came out. finally, he sighed, running a hand through his hair. “it started that way,” he admitted, his voice low. “but it’s not like that anymore. i swear, i didn’t mean for it to happen, but… i fell for you.”
you scoffed, your arms crossed. “do you know how humiliating this is for me? how stupid i feel for trusting you?”
“i know,” he said, his voice filled with guilt. “and i hate myself for it every day. but please, don’t think for a second that my feelings for you aren’t real. they are.”
you shook your head, tears spilling over. “i don’t know if i can believe you.”
jungwon stepped closer, his expression desperate. “then let me show you,” he said softly. “give me a chance to prove to you that you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. i’ll do whatever it takes.”
Tumblr media
ni ☁ ki
ni-ki’s eyes widened as soon as he heard your words. “it was a bet, wasn’t it?” you asked, your voice cold.
he froze, his usually playful demeanor gone. “who told you?” he asked, panic creeping into his voice.
“so it’s true,” you said, your voice cracking. “i can’t believe this.”
“it was stupid,” he blurted, stepping toward you. “i was stupid. i didn’t think it would matter at first, but then i got to know you, and everything changed.”
you shook your head, tears streaming down your face. “that doesn’t change the fact that you lied to me. that i was just a game to you.”
“you were never just a game,” he said urgently, his voice trembling. “i know i messed up — i know i don’t deserve your forgiveness. but you’re the only person who’s ever made me feel like this, and i don’t want to lose you.”
you hesitated, your anger battling with the raw sincerity in his voice. “how am i supposed to trust you again?”
“i’ll earn it,” he said quickly, his hands clenching into fists. “i’ll spend the rest of my life earning it if i have to. just don’t leave. please.”
