Hi dcmk,
Remember Kid ransom on movie 19: Sunflower of Inferno? Why did he do that? He didn’t even take the money. Until now I still couldn’t figure it out, can someone explain?

Conan does a lot of Odd Things but it’s really funny that from a way outsiders perspective his Kid heists are by far the most well-known thing he does so if you’ve never seen him except for TV this mellow-looking 7 year old suddenly starts barking and snarling and running directly into traffic when he sees a white cape kind of like a weird tiny bull dog

Gyakuten Saiban/Ace Attorney and Detective Conan work/ intersect well as two franchises that deal with the concept of a universal truth in pursing justice while having absolutely absurd cases or premises that are still emotionally charged

Ran, Karate, Scars
I've been wondering about this again; Ran is truly exceptional at Karate. She's physically strong to the point she can break a wall (cement, granite and all - as shown in Sunflowers of Inferno and other cases I might've forgotten) with her legs and fists. So it got me thinking: "There should be visible scars for that." I mean, you can't just destroy something that hard without injuries now, can you?
Not to mention the episodes where she shattered the car windshields or the car windows (like the case where Sonoko almost died because the car was running towards the cliff) with her knees or elbows. Ran must be hella durable due to years of Karate.
But that doesn't mean there aren't scars or injuries from when she started out, y'know? Not everyone is a prodigy at the start.

I don't understand people's beef with the ending song of DetCo M19. That was one of the things I was looking forward from this movie actually!
But I've seen reviews singling out this song amongst the things they didn't like about it? These reviewers sound so annoyed by it as if it destroyed their house or sth LMAO 🤣

Getting fomo from the announcement of a movie premiere event that I could technically get to but I didn't like the film enough to justify the cost and hassle of travelling to London straight after work and then trying to get to a hotel safely alone after 10pm on a Friday. But I feel like it's not going to do well here so most fans will be attending that special early screening and any other showing I can get to will just be me and two other people that I'm too shy to approach like every time I've gone to see an anime film here over the last five years. Hmm...

Another good one for the Kaito Kid fans!
Detective Conan Movie 19: Sunflowers of Inferno is not only a nice homage to Van Gogh's Sunflowers series, but is filled with at least some basic facts about the paintings themselves.
I, at first, had reservations about this movie however since they were giving Jirokichi the spotlight and, as I might have mentioned in the past, I'm not really a fan of his character depending on how they handle him. They handled him well in this case though, I'm happy to say.
Overall though, the writing was good for this one. Story was enjoyable and easy to follow. I have to say, the security measures Jirokichi took this time were actually pretty damn neat. I liked the system. Complex, but also really interesting.
As with all Detective Conan movies, the ending or last third were the best. Just really liked how everything was handled, loved the suspense. And well, I like how everything is pretty much cleared up by the end. It's satisfying and that's really all I can ask with these movies in most cases.
And that's really about it, so I guess it's time to add this one to the ratings.
1.) The Raven Chaser (13th Movie)
2.) The Fourteenth Target (2nd Movie)
3.) The Lost Ship in the Sky (14th Movie)
4.) The Time Bombed Skyscraper (1st Movie)
5.) Magician of the Silver Sky (8th Movie)
6.) Captured in Her Eyes (4th Movie)
7.) Crossroad in the Ancient Capital (7th Movie)/Lupin the III vs. Detective Conan: The Movie
8.) Quarter of Silence (15th Movie)
9.) The Phantom of Baker Street (6th Movie)
10.) Sunflowers of Inferno (19th Movie)
11.) Countdown to Heaven (5th Movie)
12.) Strategy Above the Depths (9th Movie)
13.) The Private Eyes' Requiem (10th Movie)
14.) Full Score of Fear (12th Movie)
15.) The Eleventh Striker (16th Movie)
16.) The Wizard of the Last Century (3rd Movie)
17.) Dimensional Sniper (18th Movie)
18.) Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure (11th Movie)
19.) Private Eye in the Distant Sea (17th Movie)
I'll give it somewhere around the middle. Not bad and did keep my attention through out, but just nowhere as good as The Lost Ship in the Sky to me (as far as Kaito Kid related movies go).
Still had some touching moments and overall, I'd recommend it if you'd like to gove it a watch. You might enjoy it.
Not much else to say about this one, unfortunately, but in other news, I'm over the 1000s with the tv series. It's taken a long time, but boy am I glad to get this far. What a ride this has been!

!!! btw i've been watching conan lately, it's really fun! im on episode 30 or so but i'm really enjoying it so far <3
i have to say though i had No clue the plot was that conan's actually 17 i did not see that coming
!!!!!!!!!!! omg! I will have to tell you though the first episodes are the best ones I think at least there's just something about them that's right. Also the episodes with Kid are the best ones in my opinion they are sooooo fun!!! Kaito and Shinichi have such a fun dynamic it's everything to me. And yeah he's 17!! Shinichi is jusst some very smart 17 year old I want to see him more as a 17 year old those episodes where he gets to be Shinichi for a bit instead of just conan are also so so fun and Oh please tell me what you think about the other Gosho boys I think Heiji already got introduced by ep30? I like Heiji he's a neat guy and Hakuba hasn't been presented yet and I don't really think he has a solid standing in detcon because he's briefly there in like one kaito episode he's more of a Kaito Kid character than a detective conan one. And Ran! I like Ran she doesn't deserve the stuff she has to put up with she doesn't get payd enough for taking care of her father and a random kid that just appeared one day and school and her childhood best friend that suspiciously disappeared the same day the strange kid that knows too many things for a seven year old grade schooler came into their lives and with him appeared a sudden wave of success for her father paired with a strange form of narcolepsy. She deserves a raise.
