The Benefits of Bilingual Education for Young Children

In India, most of us are bilingual. We have our mother tongue and know at least one other language (most commonly English). Our schools also have multiple languages in their curriculum. Hence, the idea of bilingual education is not new in our country. It has also been recognised by the National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP) that has introduced mother tongue as the medium of instruction for early years of education (students will be required to learn two additional languages).

This is us continuing with our love for the Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur! 🙄 We got to teach the Logophilia Logic of English Words programme to a super receptive gathering of Sunbeam students this week, and it was pure love! 😍  The Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur was the first of all the Sunbeam Schools. Established in 1972 (that's 45 years ago), this flagship Sunbeam school has been toiling away relentlessly at bringing more and more to its students with each year that passes.��And yes, that's two flagship schools we've done this month, CMS Station Road being the other! :') But, Logophilia likes to save the best for the last. We closed our week at Sunbeam Bhagwanpur with a teacher training programme for their top level. Over the past four years some of our best teacher training programmes have happened at the Bhagwanpur campus. This is one of the few schools where almost all teachers are now Etymology Education trained. That's a feat that, even after 7.5 years of Logophilia efforts, seems a distant dream for most schools. There is a warmth about the Sunbeam Schools that's hard to describe. There's a lot of protocol around, but they will never get that to disrupt their unparalleled hospitality. Have you seen the Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur of late? 🤤 There is so much enhancement! So much has changed! 😍  The Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur was the first of all the Sunbeam Schools. Established in 1972 (that's 45 years ago), this flagship Sunbeam school has been toiling away relentlessly at bringing more and more to its students with each year that passes.  When we drove into here last night we could hardly recognise anything. They're going through a massive makeover, boasting now of a swanky new Auditorium (👍🏼👍🏼), a delightful cafeteria, and so many new things that keep staring at us as we struggle to find time to step out of the classroom. The transformation, however, is not restricted to infrastructure. We addressed about 500 new students here today, and goodness, such zeal! :') To be able to attract the best students in a region is never an achievement that can be downplayed.
