On this sunny summer Friday, I’m taking a second to appreciate the summer slowdown. It’s easy, especially in New York City, to over-plan and over-schedule your Summer. So many of us grit our teeth through the cold months, praying for spring and summer, which can lead to trying to fit in entirely too much when the sunshine finally arrives. So today, I invite you to join me in taking a beat to breathe and take in a moment of summer in honor of the summer slow down. For me, this meant appreciating some foliage on my office block yesterday. But actually stopping, mid brisk commute walk, to pause, take a picture and feel the sun on my skin. It felt pretty damn good, even if a bit out of character.
