Happy day 7 of the summer Biannual Bibliothon, but also sadly, the final day of the readathon. I had such a blast this readathon and got soooo much reading done. I can’t remember the last time I got this much read in such a short amount of time, or had the motivation to, but now it is all I want to do! Luckily, the BookTubeAThon is only a mere 10 days away so the fun will begin all over again soon. Anyways, today’s challenge is hosted by Emily the Book Nerd who wants us to share our road trip essentials and what books we want to get to by the end of the summer so, without a further ado, let’s get into this final challenge!
My summer road trip essentials are quite basic because to be honest, I usually end up just staring out the window, lost in thought for the whole ride…
My laptop in the hopes that maybe I can get some writing done (spoiler alert, I never do)
A book because it wouldn’t be a road trip without a good book! I usually bring a light hearted contemporary to read in the car, whether it is a physical copy, ebook, or audiobook. Some summery recommendations for the car I have are: Amy and Rogers Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (a fun road trip book!), Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, and The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han.
My EPIC playlist which combines my love of 80’s pop and musical theater.
Sunglasses to keep out that sun while I am staring out the window, avoiding the stuff I brought.
Those are my summer essentials, and yes, they are pretty basic but like I said, I never actually use them. As for some of the books I want to get done by the end of the summer…well, do I have a list for you. There are so many fantastic books that I just keep hearing about, and since the Biannual Bibliothon has started, I have been dying to read them.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adyemi
This is the buzz book of the year and for good reason I’m sure! This is one of the books that I am sure deserves the amazing hype it has gotten since it first came out a few months ago, and I know I will love it! Children of Blood and Bone is a fantasy book that is heavily influenced by West African mythology, and ugh, just that sounds amazing. I love all mythology so I am so excited to get my hands on it before the summer ends!
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
Okay, I have heard about this book from every BookTuber I have EVER watched, so I feel like I should pick it up. There are three…four? books out in this fantasy series, and since these books are short, I think I would have lots of fun binging them. I did put a hold for the first one at the library and I am hoping it will come soon so I can dive right in! All I know about this book is that it involves children and a magical world…but that is it. You think after hearing about it so much I would remember a basic premise but I don’t haha!
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
I just got this book from the library, so I am hoping to get to it next week after the Biannual Bibliothon is over and I have caught up with everything I put aside in order to participate in it. It is a cute, summery contemporary about a family who hasn’t been under the same roof in forever, but because of our main character, Charlie’s sister’s wedding, the family is coming together for the weekend. Charlie is determined to make it the best weekend ever, however the weekend has barely begun and it is already shaping up to become a disaster. I love Morgan Matson’s books, and I have heard great things about this one so I can’t wait to get to it!
Those are some of the books I want to get to by the end of the summer, and I hope you enjoyed this final challenge for the Biannual Bibliothon! Don’t forget to check out ALL the Biannual Bibliothon posts I did over this past week and let me know if you participated and how you did overall! Keep an eye out for my final reading update tonight, but other than that I will be getting back onto my regular schedule 🙂

Well, day 6 is over and the final day of the Biannual Bibliothon is fast approaching…and I still have three more books I need to get through in order to achieve the ultimate goal of reading 7 books in 7 days. Of course, it will be completely alright if I don’t achieve the feat of reading that many books because I have read four books in the past few days already. That is more than I have read in a while, and for the most part, I really enjoyed what I have read!
Today I finished Scythe by Neal Shusterman for the challenge to read a predicted five star read. Right when I finished it I rushed to the computer and ordered the second book because it was SO good. The world is so intriguing and unique, and the characters are so real I had to keep reminding myself I was reading a book. Honestly though, this book was fantastic. It takes place in a world where humans have conquered everything: death, disease, poverty…really everything bad that we face in the world today. However, to keep the population in check, this world has Scythes to kill at random. This story follows two apprentices to a Scythe, Citra and Rowan, both whom do not want to bear the weight of becoming a Scythe but have no choice but to learn the ways of these killers. So, so fantastic and I am so happy to give this book a solid, well deserved 5/5 stars!
I also managed to listen to a bit more of Blue Lily Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, but I did not manage to actually find the time to sit down and read it. I was surprised I was able to finish Scythe even, because while I started off the day being productive; reading, writing, and catching up on blog posts, I ended up feeling really sick all of the sudden. For a few hours I wasn’t able to do anything, setting me back on just about all the tasks I wanted to get done…including getting further into this book. Overall, I got about one and a half hours more listened to this book which brings me almost halfway. In the actual book I believe I am on page 150ish and things are getting interesting. Well, they were already interesting, but I am excited to sit down tomorrow and power through the last 150ish pages to see whats happens!
Anyways, that is all for this update! I am still very behind, but somehow, still hopeful as I have been saying the past few days. Tomorrow’s reading to do list is: finish Blue Lily Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, start and finish A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab, and start and finish Legend by Marie Lu. Will I be able to get all that done tomorrow? Who knows!

Reading Update - Summer Biannual Bibliothon Day 4
Reading Update – Summer Biannual Bibliothon Day 4
Happy day 4 of the summer Biannual Bibliothon!
I wish I could say I managed to catch up…but I did not. I still have only three books read, meaning I have to try and finish three books tomorrow…or split it up and read two on Thursday and two Friday. The idea is a little stressful, but as always I am up for the challenge. I plan to get all my writing done in the early morning, and then spend the…

It is Tuesday which means it is day 4 of the summer Biannual Bibliothon! While yesterday wasn’t the best reading day, today was a lot better so that makes me very, very happy. However, I am still one book behind and that means I have to read TWO whole books tomorrow in order to catch up, but I am feeling optimistic.
My main task for today was to finish reading The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth, a book very similar to Narnia. I started it yesterday and left myself about 200 pages to read today, and I am happy to say that I finished it! I went into this book knowing little to nothing, and was SO pleasantly surprised. This was a haunting, whimsical, and beautiful fantasy book that is about family ties and finding yourself in a world that you feel lost in. The writing style was magical yet also simple but descriptive at the same time…I don’t know how to explain it really, but I loved it! The characters were so real and so vivid in my mind, and I liked them each for different reasons. Ugh, it was so good. I ended up flying through the last almost half of the book, and gave it a 4.5/5 stars because yeah, it was that amazing!
Next I was planning on picking up Legend by Marie Lu. It wasn’t originally on my TBR but I wanted to pick it up because a) it is only 300 pages and b) I needed a seventh book to complete all the challenges for the Biannual Bibliothon. However, I made the smart decision to continue reading The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater, the second book in The Raven Cycle because in order to read Blue Lily Lily Blue, one of the books on my readathon TBR, I needed to finish this one. So, after finishing The Light Between Worlds, I picked it up and flew through the last 150 or so pages in one sitting. To be fair, I did listen to about 40 of those pages via audiobook, but the rest I just sat down and finished. It was a GREAT addition to the series and even though it was not part of my TBR, I thought I would still talk about it in my update. The characters and relationships are fantastic, as well as the setting of Henrietta, Virgina, and overall, the book definitely gets a 4 or 4.25/5 stars!
That was my reading update for today, and I will be back tomorrow with a brand new blog post as well as another reading update for day 5! Wow, day 5. This readathon is just whizzing by but I am so pleased with all I have gotten read, and all the fun I have been having. Let me know what you are reading right now, readathon or not, because I would love to know!

So…I actually did not finish a book today! I am okay with that though because my day was super draining and busy, and sometimes there are just days like that and it is important to remember this.
(P.S. I really want to showcase the current book I’m reading’s gorgeous covers)
Anyways, today I picked up The Light Between Worlds by Laura E. Weymouth, a fantasy book set in Engand during 1949-1950, and a magical land called The Woodlands. I really had no idea what to expect going into this book because it isn’t even out to the world yet, but I am really happy to say that what I have read, I have really, really enjoyed! This book is whimsical and interesting, and I 100% am going to finish the last 200 pages tomorrow morning, and then start and finish a fourth book as well. I refuse to fall behind! But yes, so far I am enjoying this book and it is heading towards a 4/5 star rating for me, and I am really excited to finish it and find out what happens. This book comes out sometime in November this year and I recommend checking it out!
That was my reading update for the third day of the Biannual Bibliothon, and while I didn’t finish my book, I did read 150 pages so it was still successful! I’m going to head to bed now but I will be back tomorrow with another update 🙂

Sorry I'm late guys! Igor caught up in making videos for the #summerbiannualbibliothon 😅it's going to be fun! My next two blog post will actually be TBRs for the upcoming readathons I'll be participating in. As far as pretentious characters go Apollo is pretty much the worst but his still fun to read as the narrator. The burning maze was especially good for those who haven't caught up with the series. Tag time! @readnext tagged me to do the #cutelittlebookishtag First book you remember reading/enjoying. The hobbit Best book you’ve read recently. The burning maze Favorite snack while reading. Chocolate Hogwarts house. Hufflepuff! Why did you start bookstagram. To meet other book lovers and build my skills as a photographer QOTD- who's an annoying character you still enjoy? #thetrailsofapollo #bamjuly18 #rickriordan #theburningmaze #booktuber #bookblog #loverofbooks #blueflowertheme #bookishphotography
