Multitasking wasn’t exactly Mingyu’s strong suit. At least, not when it came to video games and communication outside of the game. He got the text from Daehwi asking if he could come over, which Mingyu gladly accepted and unlocked the door. But he ended up going right back to his game. He could finish it up and shut everything down, no problem.

Seeing a reflection of someone physically behind him while playing a horror game? Problem.

Mingyu jumped up from his chair and spun around, cell phone clutched in his hand like he was about to throw it. Super intelligent. Then, he finally realized it was only Daehwi.

He removed his headphones with a sigh, rolling his eyes at himself and laughing. “Ya! What happened to knocking!” Of course, he was only teasing. Daehwi probably knocked and stood there for a minute before trying the door. Now that he was looking at him though, something seemed off. Mingyu set his headphones on his desk and exited the game, putting his computer to sleep before turning back to Daehwi. “What’s up? Everything okay?” Walking by him, he gave his hair a gentle ruffle, hinting at him to follow towards the living area.

     little smile toys along corners of lips in unadulterated enjoyment, lost to the excited lilt of his friend’s chatter. while the cosmos cannot boast an in depth understanding of the other’s topic ( hobby ? work ? he can’t recall in the moment, unfortunately ), there is no doubt that kyungmin absolutely loves seeing the way an inner fire lights up gaze and words become animated in excitement.

When his friend had told him that he knew someone he could stay with, Hyunjin shouldn’t have been so quick to accept the offer. It was definitely a clash of personalities. Which was all the more reason why he was fine with letting his roommate take the apartment for the night so that he could have some privacy with his girlfriend. Plus, he didn’t want to hear any of the events that would surely follow.

The problem? Hyunjin still wasn’t very familiar with the area.

After venturing out for a little while, he ultimately came back and propped himself up against the wall. He didn’t have anywhere else to crash, so the hallway seemed as good a place as any. He’d just make sure to get up early and... pretend he didn’t sleep on the floor. Yikes. Maybe this wasn’t the greatest idea.

Hearing footsteps, Hyunjin opened his eyes and cleared his throat, making a fumble for his phone in his pocket before looking up. Totally casual. “How’s it going?”

It shouldn’t be this hard. But the guilt was eating her alive, especially now that she was back in town. Hyuna couldn’t stop thinking about her. How she was doing after all this time. If she hated her for disappearing. It wasn’t like their friendship ended on bad terms. It just... ended abruptly. When Hyuna dropped all contact. And seemingly disappeared off the face of the Earth, as far as anyone was concerned.

Just knock on the door. Hyuna looked down at her phone one last time before letting out a slow exhale. This was the last place she knew Rose lived. Hopefully she would be home. Hopefully... hopefully Hyuna would be able to explain herself. And if Rose hated her, she deserved that much.

Before she could turn away, she quickly reached up and knocked. No running now. If she wanted Rose back in her life, she needed to try.
