Yo anyone read Rayuela by Julio Cortázar?
#suddenly feeling that motive where Horacio is identical to his friend Traveler in everything except one crucial detail#Horacio is lonely but Traveler is not#and there is no obvious explanation as to why because they really are identical#i think Horacio called it a zone. some people are in the zone and some just aren't and this won't change#and while i don't believe in destiny or fate it surely is annoying that there aren't any clear answers what to do to stop being lonely#and paradoxically the book made me feel less lonely because it described my heart so well#the book alone made me feel like i belong in the world after all. i was maybe 17 when i read it#and it's a damn good book i highly recommend. the form alone. the motive of emigration and homecoming. the pov of the global south!#and the eye in asshole hihi that was important too. oh and the sexy time chapter wrote entirely in made-up words#diary post#vent post
