roman got out. he got out and he understood. finally stood up for himself, against his inner demons (ep9) and executors (s10).
shiv saved kendall. he’s free, yet he will always feel trapped. unsatisfied. as if he doesn’t belong, because that’s all he has ever known.
shiv… her husband’s finally her equal. call it a romantic tragedy if you want, watch succession as a love letter between tom and shiv. yet still, they will never be equals.
i think so much of s4 opening credits, shiv’s stills following the silluete of caroline. watching her parents fight? talk? in the distance. always watching. and that’s how she ended up. watching.

succession s4 ep9
I’m okay.
- so these kids’ trauma and infighting just resulted in them overriding their country’s democracy. where do we go from here
- still calling em kids. the youngest of them is like 1.5x my age.
- roman what the fuck are you talking about
- the saddest part about me finishing this show is no more roman jokes. they’re awful and I love them
- ken I don’t think the kids care enough about logan for it to really matter if they go to his funeral. like I get that this is how you’re handling things but like he was not good to them
- I wonder if that little override of democracy will have negative consequences
- ken you know why jess is quitting. just let her go. one day you will learn your actions have consequences
- I don’t know how funerals work tbh. only ever been to two
- ewan still owns everyone
- god he’s so based
- how do you follow that roman
- is roman actually... sad?
- I haven’t complimented the actors enough in this show. I feel practically no sympathy for roman normally but I’m tearing up at the performance here. this is fucking heart-wrenching
- they just can’t let go of thinking of him as great, can they. despite all evidence to the contrary. if they accept that he was awful, they have to accept that they, too, are awful
- shiv recounting abuse whilst laughing
- the fact that none of their speeches had anything truly happy to say about him. they could only say he was brutal and ambitious but they couldn’t cap it with a “but” about how he really loved them despite it all
- I don’t think you’re gonna find the good in him you’re looking for shiv
- this is logan’s legacy. four traumatised kids with enough power to tear apart a country with their infighting.
- I KNEW mencken would be a dick towards roman cause of the breakdown at the funeral
- someone recorded rome at the funeral? that’s horrible.
- rome’s getting his kicks where he can at this point
- god. roman.
- god.
