The monsoon is here. I love Monsoon. After a soul-sucking summer, the rain greets us, pouring down with firm determination to ward off the reminiscent of the summer. Thanda, Thanda, Cool, Cool.

I love how our birthdays are in the month of cool breeze and pearls of the clouds. Watching the rain is my favourite activity. I grab a cup of Bournvita (Your girl has been drinking Bournvita!) and a plate of snacks and sit in the backyard with my phone. The chillness and pitter-patter of the rain make me lost in my dream world, also known as my favourite stories. Isn't it nice how the rain accompanies us in our quiet moments? In our sombre moments, the rain aggressively pours to be with our heart's despair, as if it breaks its heart too. I wonder what kind of person the rain will be. My first thought was Namjoon. What do you think?

The weather is nice. Everything is nice. And your birthday is here.

My love, many more happy returns of the day. In a blink of an eye, you turned 25. How long have we known each other? 7 years, I believe. You were so tiny. Small. Adorable. Well, you're still cute, hehe. Welcome to the middle-life crisis.

How has your twenty-four been? How has the year been so far? I hope the journey has been kinder and easier.

For a while, I have been on a journey of discovering myself and creating a vibrant and compassionate community. Filled with ups and downs. Well, that's how it is. After pondering for hours about the people I crossed paths, I'm genuinely grateful to have you in my life. You inspire me. Your intelligence and gentleness always amaze me. You carry yourself with elegance and mischief. At times, you're so silly. I'm in love with every shade of you.

You've sculpted yourself meticulously throughout these years, and I can see how much you have evolved. I wish to see this metamorphosis and every side of you in person. I hope before this year ends, I get to meet you.

I wish somehow this Universe magically teleports to your place. Perhaps somehow we can spend the entire time laughing, eating, and genuinely having a great time with each other. What will we do? I'm just so thrilled about our meeting. FINGERS CROSSED.

Usually, I plan way ahead of time for the newsletter. As we grow older, and naturally, our conversations become limited. I was nervous about what to write because I felt like I hardly knew you in the present. Thankfully, our conversations evolved along with our journey, which made it easier for me to write this letter.

Our conversations range from talking about every series across all the languages to having deep sentimental moments. Our mutual love for Rege... is something else. Gosh, he's GORGEOUS! How on earth a man be this handsome? Unbelievable. Then, those memes that you share with me... I end up in pain because of laughter. The way we love two different poets - Kim Taehyung and Kim Namjoon, though they're two peas in a pod. I love every bit of our conversations! When I look back, I feel good knowing that I met YOU. You're a darling!

I knew I was made of pieces from everyone, but I never knew that one day those pieces could be nothing but reminiscent of the other person, which probably the said person won't remember. We, humans, are truly great holders of love and tragedy.

That's why I love every version of you, Amisha. I can't wait to meet the future version of you. I will hold every side of yours gently and love them with the whole of my heart. Abundantly. Irrevocably.

Your lovely friend has returned with the letter for your birthday. how have you been, darling? the year has been a journey, full of tides, ups and downs. yet, that smile of yours never disappeared. indeed, the very charm of yours is that serene smile.

Yesterday, I perused the previous letter and realized I am writing my fifth letter to you. The number 5 signifies the middle point of anything. Now, I am closer to a decade than before. In complete sincerity, I can not wait to see how much will change in these letters and our lives.

Dearest, Happy Birthday! Welcome to 24. (Perhaps, should I welcome you to a mid-life crisis? I rather not!) I hope you had a lovely day. I sincerely wish all your wishes come true.

However, there is one wish which I want to come true — Meeting you. I have no idea kab, kaise, aur kahan — but I really want to meet you. Countless times, my mind filled with the thoughts of our meeting — from what we would have dressed to the kind of hangout we would have. I want to hold you close and cherish your presence. I need to know what it is like to be in your presence. Hopefully, soon, this wish of mine come true! 🌹

You're so cute. Each and every time I see your stories on Instagram, my first thought has always been, “You’re so cute like a button!” I must say, as the days go by, you get cuter. Despite the thorns you faced, the rose bloomed within you. 🌹

Dearest Ami,

Writing this letter to you feels so exciting and peaceful, as if I am writing a letter to an old friend of mine whom I have known my entire life. I hope that you are well and December has been warm and gentle. I really love this time of the year, when we are wrapping up the current year and eagerly anticipating the new year with a hopeful heart. The air is filled with the magical essence that we often read in fairy tales; that blossoms a smile from within us, reminding us of the child-like innocence. There is no better time than now to pour down my feelings and send this letter to you. Such a beautiful time that is so perfect for your benevolent heart.

Everything really happens for a reason. I was heartbroken when I realized, looking at the half-done letter, that I would be the reason behind the tinge of sadness you will experience on your birthday. Your heart is caring and understanding. Naturally, you would understand my dilemma. An understanding heart always hides its emotions so well. I noticed sadness hidden well in your understanding.

Consequently, I resolved to write this letter and ensured it reaches you by the end of 2022. (Partially, the delay happened because evaluating the expiration of my creative block was hard to determine.)

And, What is the best way to compensate for the tinge of sadness and disappointment you felt on your birthday!? Celebrating your birthday with the owner of your heart, the charmer of your life, and the one who makes us constantly swoon over his handsomeness - Kim Taehyung.

Actually, I planned to deliver this letter earlier this month. After facing many hiccups, I settled on 30th December to give you this letter. When I look back at the timeline of events, I can not help but believe that every moment in our lives truly happens for a reason. Above them all, I feel December wished to make you happier. The magic of December is a solid 24k Gold.

So, here I am, wishing the best people of my life a wonderful and merriest birthday.

Amisha, my love, you turned 23 precisely 167 days ago. Five months, 14 days. Meanwhile, Kim Taehyung turned 27 today. So, how has the twenty-third chapter of your life been so far? As we know, December is all about chocolates. I badly want to go on a brownie date with you in a fancy cafe on a shivering evening with the moon illuminating the sky brightly. Boss babes like us must need to feel fancy. However, the journey till today must have been like Dark Chocolate, a mix of bitterness and sweetness, right? I remember when you reached out to me, all I felt was to hug you tightly and make you feel protected. Quite relieved that the particular moment passed peacefully.

It's really incredible, when I think, how you acknowledge my thoughts and gracefully move forward in your life. Like always, I marvelled at your grace and acceptance. Indeed, you are the epitome of elegance.

Hence, I pondered what I could write about twenty-three to a person who is elegant and cuteness-personified. I will tell you my favourite lesson of twenty-three.

You are in your early twenties, seeking your dreams and those little wishes from childhood that withstood the test of time. Rockstar, my pride at the peak of Mt. Everest seeing you achieve everything you aspired to in your life. Go, Rockstar. The hustling for the life you envisioned feels rewarding, right? Twenty-three taught me to unlearn this. 

Work & life balance, go after the life you wish to live, many more are what we grew up hearing. Right? Twenty-three taught me living your life is not the other side of hustling, but hustling is actually a part of living. It taught me to be intentional with hustling.

Life is a noun. A path. 

Living is moving forward. An umbrella of many actions. 

Hustling is one of those actions. 

Imagine yourself as a Gardner. Your entire life revolves around making a Garden. You receive an empty land. Hence, you hustle to get the tools, fertilizers, and other vital things. Do you think you will work continuously for the entire day in the Garden? No, right? You stop to gaze at your hard work and feel content with it. You will relax and think about how further you can make this Garden beautiful. Living in the Garden consists of hustling, relaxing, gazing, anticipating flowers to bloom, the sadness of a plant dying, and many more. I want you to apply the same logic in your life too. 

Balancing different actions is what encompasses living. Therefore, when you are working hard and feel exhausted thinking about when you will get to live your life, I want to remind you that you are already living your life. And, it is in your hands to bring the other actions into your life. 

You have the power to make your living a contentment-filled journey.

I love you so much, Amisha. I can not wait to see shining brightly like the Dhruv Tara in the sky. 

Another thing I love the most about us is that we maintain this tight bond even if we do not have much in common. You live so far from me but doing a letter to you is the least I can do, at the moment, to let you know how much I treasure you. You are one of a kind.

For a while, I had been thinking about our friendship. I do not exactly remember how we started to converse. Do you remember? 

Regardless of how our friendship began, I am immensely thankful that I met you. This friendship we share is dear to me. I shall always protect and nourish our bonding from the bottom of my heart. 

I know how supportive, kind, and caring your heart is. When Woo Young said her friend is Spring Sunshine in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, the first person that came to my mind was you. Spring Sunshine, yeah, it is really you, Amisha. 

And I want to know more about you. What are your quirks? How cutely do you behave when you are teased about something/someone you love? What kind of faces do you make when bored out of your mind? How does happiness look on you? How happy or sour your face turns when you eat a dish? What are your cute habits? I wonder about many sides of you. I really wish to know more about you. Perhaps beyond what you usually show to others. 

Most of all, I wish to see the joy on your face. I know I have not paid attention to you for a while, and I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I feel like, after all these years of knowing you, I could have learned more about you. It is really disheartening. 

Regretting will not change the past. Hence, I will pay attention and shower you with so much love. Wait and watch! 

Amisha, your love makes me feel cherished and heals my heart in many ways. Whenever you share your achievements and cute snippets of your life, my heart fills with delight. I feel important and worthy enough to be loved and trusted with precious moments of your life. A message from you really makes my day! 

When I was writing this letter, "Di-di-diddy-diddy-bop Di-di-diddy-diddy-bop" was ringing in my head. 

So, I shall ‘Di-di-diddy-diddy-bop Di-di-diddy-diddy-bop’ into praises about your intelligence. 

Babe, I lack words to praise your intelligence and perseverance. You are fantastic, a wonder of the Earth. I can not wait to see Dr. right before your name. I know you can achieve it! You go, girl! 

My darling, who turned twenty-three this year, I have curated a list of twenty-three handy-dandy tips.

A way to keep in touch with people you have networked with is by wishing them on their birthday. I have seen people extending this by wishing them on festivals too. You can create a Calendar on Google Cal to remind you.  Update your passport pictures every year and carry them in your purse. They just come in handy all of a sudden.   If you are struggling to hydrate yourself enough, get a Carafe.  Always carry a photo of your family in your wallet to remind yourself that you are not alone.  Never ever get drunk at a work party. It is work, and no, I do not drink.  Digitalization allowed us to click numerous photographs. But the true essence of a photo is felt because of its tangibility. If you can make a photo album of the moments that touched your heart every year, make it.  If you are scared to visit a Doctor, I would like to let you know that you are not alone. Your Doctor is your teammate in tackling the issue. Face it boldly.  Life is meant to be vibrant. Forget the minimalism. Embrace the colours around you.  Hug your family members as many times as you can. They are growing old too.  Scent memory is an important thing. Having a signature scent leaves a deep impression on others.  If you have a lot of locks, colour-code the keys.  Write a list of quotes you wish to remember in your note app on your phone.  Food plating makes you feel good from the inside.  On the days you wish to be like a sloth, wear outfits that create the urge to move.  Sorting through emotions and making a firm decision is difficult. Having a list of logical questions can help you a lot. Refer to Business Management decision-making tools! Figure out how much you cost to exist. Make a spreadsheet of expenses, and that is how much you cost. Remember that this list will evolve.    Never ever delete the welcome and account deletion emails from the websites and the companies. They come in handy during the verification process.  Never ever underestimate the power of a good walk.  If you are feeling negative, grow a small plant in your room. The plant reflects what you feed to it. So, this makes you intentional with your words and actions.  Organize all of your legal documents in two folders. Keep original documents safe. The other folder will have the xerox copy of it. Most of the time, you only need a xerox copy.  Carry an expensive pen in your purse for signing the document. This evokes a sense of worthiness deep within you. Insert Scooboo link.  Always paint your nails in solid colours when heading out for work. They add a flair of elegance to your demeanour.  Thank your body for keeping you alive. More than anyone, our body is doing a lot of work. 

I hope these tips come in handy!  

Now, I have to wrap up this letter. I feel like going on writing about the friendships that blossomed between us, never drawing the full stop. I will write more for your 24th birthday. 

This letter took me a long time to form into love, and I hope my sincerity touched your heart. Our chatroom on Instagram means a lot. I came across a quote on Tumblr that I wish to tell you - "In this space right now here that we have made for each other, you can say anything, and I will not abandon you. Unwrap the worst things you've done. Watch me hold them up the light and not even flinch."

I am glad that I wrote this letter. That I did not give up on this till the end. I prefer to be late than miss the year. 

I would be over the moon if this letter warmed your heart and soul in the chill December. Winter does need to be a metaphor for sadness. Sadness does mean there is no room for happiness. They can exist together. Sending you loads of warmth, love, hugs, and many good days.

Ru, darling, I really, really love you so much. I honestly have no idea where to begin this post because whenever I think of you, my heart brims with unbridled joy. You're cute. You're so darn cute. You're the perfect synonym, a human embodiment of cuteness. Even Jimin will lose to you in the cuteness department.

Have I ever told you how much you inspired me as a person? Ru, you've been on social media for a very long time, yet the way you conducted yourself always amazed me. Perhaps, if I had met you earlier in 2015, my life might be turned out better. I learned many small things and saw pieces that I wished to be in you. Your immense dedication to your craft, the boundaries you've placed, the way you carefully move through the crowd, had a strong opinion of yourself, never letting yourself be clouded by the collective opinion of others is a strong reminder to me of many things. I'm glad that this universe gave me a wonderful person like you, considering the kind of disaster I'm. (Not a self-deprecating comment, but an honest confession)

My dear Ru, you remind me of Hobi. A sunshine soul who has water-like energy flowing through them. Your cuteness and liveliness can instantly brighten one's day, but at the same time, your energy is steady and able to face anything. We have often heard from the members how Hobi is like water bridging all of them together and accommodate anything the group requires, but not at the cost of himself. We still see his sunshine smile, loud personality, and absolute cuteness. You're Hobi in a nutshell. 🌞

The little chatroom of ours with Barish will always be special to me. Our delightful chats, rants, gossips, and everything is the only sweet memories I've of my early twenties. I certainly wished we were all together in real-time, enjoying and photographing every moment. Sometimes in the future, hopefully.

Oh my heavens, how could I forget to thank you for introducing me to a whole new world of romance on AO3? I discovered a new library of stories, and I am addicted to them. "A Gilded World" and "Cherub Vice" have a soft spot in my heart. Thanks to all the stories, I'm able to spend my free time from the Pandemic productively. Any time spent doing something you love is not wasted.

Happy sweetest 21st birthday to you! I hope this year brings innumerable joy and happiness in your life.

After having a phone conversation with you, I realised what sort of role I play in your life. I'm thankful you are able to confide in me and I deeply cherish the trust you have kept on me.

I felt perhaps, every birthday provides an oppurtunity for us to reflect back on the journey we have travelled. Our camaraderie had a slow yet consistent journey. Dear Naina, 

You’ve officially signed up for Tee’s yearly newsletters for your birthday. Every year, you will receive a blog post from my Tumblr account, which I hope will bring a smile to your beautiful face. I’ve been doing this for a while and wanted to have you on board. Also, I’ve no idea how long I’ll be able to do this, but I’d like to write to you for a very long time.

You’re turned a year older, bolder, and more beautiful. What can I even say about you, love? You’re a joy.

I usually portray people in my life through colours. I believe everyone exists in multiple shades of colour in other's life. In my life, you exist like the Twilight, which spreads all across the Earth for the Moon and Stars to glow brightly. The Darkest Blue. Even though it appears to be pitch black, there is a tinge of light within it, which is enough for the Moon and Stars. The slight difference is what makes the night so beautiful. It's dark yet beautiful and serene.

To Yoongi, love is blue. And love is YOU. The colour 'Blue' has many layers within it. This can't be seen unless one spends a good amount of time learning about it. Perhaps that's why Yoongi associates Love to Blue.

Nain, each time I reminisce about our friendship, I frequently find myself giggling at the stark similarities between our’s and Namjoon and Yoongi’s friendship. The only difference is they’re rich, RICH, while we’re fancily broke. I still remember how we were rowdy with each other. I hated you. You hated me. Namjoon always said there is only a thin line between Love and Hate. I suppose we both crossed that thin line and found solace in each other. A camaraderie blossomed. Today, we both are joyful in this wonderful companionship. 

So, you’re 22 now. Welcome to the 22nd Chapter of your life. I hope you’re ready aboard Train no. 22 because twenty-two will always bring something refreshing to everyone's life. I can’t vouch for how grande or small those new moments will be, but they will deeply touch your heart. One of my favourite moments in Chapter 22nd was my birthday. I vividly remember how beautiful I looked. After a long time, I felt pretty. I didn’t do anything special, but I felt pretty. That feeling was enough for me to move forward in my life. 

I hope the new chapter brings many wonderful moments into your life. Down the road, when you muse your 22nd year on Earth, all these moments bring a smile to your face.

I shall start from the beginning. I’ll be honest. I really thought you were the most annoying person on this planet. I genuinely felt, “Argh, not HER!” 

Then, our teeny-tiny cosy space was formed through which spoke to each other properly. I thought I hated you, but in reality, I actually didn’t. I never hated you. Slowly and steadily, our friendship arc went from enemies to friends. We slowly learned to trust each other. Now, I’m glad that I get to be a trustworthy person in your life. I’m truly honoured. 

The thing is, Naina, I learned that you're a person with many layers. You remind me of Yoongi. Often, you resemble a cat that is wary of strangers and cautious of danger. Your nonchalant attitude may get misunderstood by others. In reality, you're like a bud that keeps its petals tightly packed. Once a person begins to learn about you, they will see the multiple shades in you. You've a whole universe in your soul, Naina. The darkest blue sky carrying those millions of stars. Your soul is a marvel to behold. As you get comfortable in anyone's presence, the bud within you starts to unfurl its petals. I noticed this in our friendship too. At first, your sarcastic sense of humour appeared. Then, your emotional intelligence arrived, showcasing the tender and caring side you've in your heart. Alas, you bloomed into the epitome of cuteness.

(By the way, anyone who interacts with you for the first time can easily understand that you're skilled at logical reasoning. No one can rival in this.)

You softly whine to me. I'll never forget how you whine when I forget to reply to you. "I hope Allah ignores you just like how you ignore me."- This always cracks me up. Every time I receive this meme, I giggle at your cuteness. You're so cute. When it comes to Yoongi, you unleash your extreme fondness through words, which often end with many typos. Once again, this is cute. The nights we spend talking about random stuff, the days when we venture into many stories... mean a lot to me.
