Large Sialolith Removal from Submandibular Gland This patient developed a swelling in the right submandibular region, which fluctuated in size during the course of each day. It increased in size with a spike in pain during meal times. Since this has gradually worsened to the point of disrupting his activities of daily living, he presented to our hospital for management of his problem. Upon presentation at our hospital, a 3D CT scan and sialogram were performed, which revealed the presence of a large sialolith in the submandibular gland, which was impeding flow of saliva from the gland. Treatment planning was explained to the patient and he consented to surgery. The sialolith was removed through a submandibular incision.
