Happy first day of spring!!🌱 Scenes from over in the meadow😊 our first cover song of the year, only on YouTube and the video is cute! (see last slide) Bonus: we arranged the animals in formations that help children practice subitizing aka recognizing quantities WITHOUT counting— useful math skill! Music produced by Ryan, video produced by Teresa, all instruments played by Ryan, vocals by Teresa and the kids🎶 #overinthemeadow #childrensclassics #kidssongs #circletime #subitizing #montessoriteacher #liveinstruments https://www.instagram.com/p/CqAh80zsByh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION FOR DYSCALCULIA AND MLDs USING DOT CARDS AND COUNTERS
Triveni Goswami Vernal (Registered Special Educator CRR No. A64010) In the previous blogs, I have written about Subitizing (the ability to visualize or see the number of items in a small group instantaneously, without having to count them one by one) and the critical role it plays in Dyscalculia and Math Learning Difficulties. I have also written about the use of Dot Cards, Cluster Cards and…

All of this is valid, except that the playing cards don't indicate any ability to read numerals. The pips are arranged in patterns that allow them to be counted visually in chunks, a process known as subitizing. Dice work the same way.
[I hope all the sexy ladies who have started following me on here recently knew what they were signing up for.]
[Lucius: I'm the only crew member who can read.] Stede: That's not... Is that true? Eugh. Lucius: *hard judgement*

scp needs more Weird Entries and less World Ending Ones i think. like more entries like the one where paddy the pelican calls you slurs or the demon stuck in minecraft or the fucked up entity that shows up in among us that nobody takes seriously because they type like shadow the hedgehog. or the scary ones too like the sloth that makes you slow or the man eating bus or even the infinite ikea. i want more those
#gio talks#The second I understand how to subit entries its OVER for you guys you WILL witness the fish

Interesting to see how differently these situations played out: Yvonne d'Origny is forever grateful that Lupin gave her back her son, and nothing could ever change that, while Clarisse Mergy can't get past the fact that he's a criminal, despite how he's helped her.
Granted, there are additional factors that weigh into this: Yvonne originally had feelings for Horace Velmont, she knew him outside of his criminal activity, so that might help in any lingering good will she feels towards Lupin. For Clarisse, Lupin contributed to Gilbert living a life of crime, so that's already not great, plus she only knew him as a criminal, and she was also entirely focused on saving her son, not a good time for romance. (+ their respective partners: Yvonne was trapped in an abusive marriage, Clarisse was a widower who loved her husband)
Still, in both of these the fact that Lupin returned a son to a mother is given as reason as to why said mother should at least feel positively about him. And even though the last sentences in Crystal Stopper imply that Clarisse could harbour some feelings for him, she still seems to have rejected him quite harshly at first.
I don't think there are other love interests that are also mothers except for these two and Patricia, who is a very different story altogether. But it'd be interesting to revisit this topic when I'll reach Les Milliards in my reread!

word for the way you can instantly recognize a number of objects without having to count them, so long as it's a small number of objects (~4-6 or less). i find this delightful.
#wikipedia seems very confident that 4 is the upper limit for subitizing#but i can definitely subitize 5—and 6 feels 'on the cusp' such that i would be really surprised if no one could reliably subitize 6#yes of course i immediately started performing subitizing experiments on myself who do you think i am#stuff i find online

Ai, caramba! Buckle up butter cups, I’m home alone with no car and no work so far.
Sudden Death “in French” is D”s favorite. Well…it is lovely and tasty if you like that kind of thing. To say D has a favorite beer is splitting a sticky wicket to mix metaphors. This beer is a mix of a spontaneously fermented beer with sweet fruit juice. D prefers cherry or raspberry while I, should I choose to drink such a beer, will take mine with peach.
The cafe is cavernous inside with lots of interesting memorabilia and ornamentation and the wait staff appear to be dressed to match. We’ve had drinks here twice but never sampled their food menu. This time we left after one to have our meal in an actual cavern. Oh là là!
