The Grand Finale of the Times Inter-School Quiz Competition 2019, was a display of deep knowledge and effort, which shone through the performances of all the six teams. The Semi-Final followed by the Grand finale of the Times Inter-School Quiz 2019 touted to be an exhilarating exposition of knowledge started with great excitement at the Cyber Conventions, Hitec city. The grand finale was a nail biting roller coaster ride for the top 6 teams comprising of P. Obul Reddy Public School, Army Public School Bolarum, Teja Vidyalaya Kodad, Sister Niveditha, Gitanjali Devashala School, Balamrai and The Future Kids School.

The team from P. Obul Reddy Public School comprising of Kavya Reddy Puttha, Vinesh Mani and Manav Ganapathy put up an admirable performance and emerged as winners. They went home richer by 1 lakh rupees, a shimmering trophy for permanent display at their school and a splendid memory to cherish upon forever. Army Public School, Bolarum comprising of Anrudh Bakshi, Yash Chandra and Drishya Sudeep wound up being first runner ups winning Rs 50,000/- cash prize and Teja Vidyalaya, Kodad students Abhishekar Reddy, Pavan Kumar Reddy and Saivardhan Reddy finished as second runner ups after putting up a tough struggle. They received Rs 25,000/- as cash prize.

The Chief Guest for the event was Anjani Kumar IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City who shared various anecdotes about national duties and nation building. The supercop gave an important message to the youngsters gathered at the venue. ‘Everybody has a cop within, you just need to chisel it out. By cop I mean, the ability to know what is right and wrong. Set the cop in you free’, he said.

Times Inter School Quiz Competition 2019, Hyderabad, an initiative by Optimal Media Solutions, A Times Group Company was presented by Global Tree, University Partner ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Knowledge Partner MAcademy, Powered by Global Indian International School and Associate Sponsors Analog IAS Academy, Vision40 IIT Academy and quiz partner Grey Cells.

Over 120 teams from 60 renowned schools across Hyderabad and adjoining areas qualified for the event by virtue of a preliminary round, which was held over last one month at their respective schools. The preliminary intra-school rounds engaged close to 8000 students.

The on-ground event began in right earnestness with the national anthem followed by a keenly contested semi-final round. Eventually top 6 teams qualified for the on-stage Grand Finale.

The participants had to go through mazes of intuited and mind-boggling rounds consisting of questions related to current affairs, science, sports, music, a special round named upon the title sponsor “Global Tree” and a uniquely crafted round named “List It” where teams had to select five correct options from a cluster of eight options. The “Global Tree” round had ten questions where the answers started with the first alphabet of the spelling. It was an extremely enjoyable and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the huge audience.

Ace Quizmaster Gautam Bose helmed the entire event with élan and presented this nail biting contest with his brilliant repartee. He has been conducting quiz events for the past 2 decades across the globe. He presented innovative rounds with wellcrafted content that not only tested the contestants for their knowledge but also brought out their lateral thinking and quick strategy.

The other guest for the event were Subhakar Alapati, Director Global Tree, Sudhakar Rao, Director Branding, ICFAI group, Y Vamshi Chandra, Director MAcademy, M Narasimha Murthy, Vice Chairman, Global Indian International School, Srikanth Vinnakota, Director, Analog IAS Academy and Sundeep from Vision40 IIT Academy.
