"it is. swear being an artist made me a perfectionist," heechul chuckles as he twirls his stylus between his fingers. sure he knew not every piece would be perfect but he did his best. he still had pieces he wished he could do better with but he did what he could.
he can't help but smile some upon hearing sua's words. "it does. i'm always so in awe by every design even if they add so much detail that making fanart has me wanting to pull my hair out." he knows some designs aren't his favorite but he's all for pretty characters. he just had a love/hate relationship when drawing them himself. it took way too long and left him drained. he just used a ton of them for inspiration though which helped him create his character.
"her design is really pretty. always wanted to draw her but couldn't convince myself to." he mused, knowing there were many characters that just appealed to him in that game. he was never a gacha person but the appeal of an open world game like others he enjoyed had him hooked. maybe he'd be able to go through the game more often if he had a buddy to play it alongside. "they do! i love using it for inspiration for backdrops whenever i'm in the mood to do that."
“isn’t that just the way,” sua says wryly, huffing a soft laugh as she fiddles with her stylus pen. trial and error, practice makes perfect. whatever way you want to look at it.
a noise of understanding leaves her as soon as she hears heechul’s game choice, nodding her head. “genshin’s character designs are cool.” sua pauses, pursing her lips. “at least a number of them.” she knows there are a couple she might deem as boring or lackluster or not her vibe. maybe too much as times. but there are quite a number that are also quite nice in detail. she doesn’t blame heechul at all for using it as inspiration.
“i’ve always liked yae miko’s design.” she says in thought, tilting her head. she hasn’t played genshin in quite some time— the gacha phase of her life over and done with. maybe she should try it out again, though the idea of having to catch up on so many patches makes her weary already. “i think some of the places have nice backdrops for sketching, too.”

heechul was already excited to game alongside sua. his audience would enjoy it and he would as well. it's been a bit since he played any games on stream and he was ready to do so again. switching up was good once in awhile and he was ready to do something besides drawing. besides, he was all for the chaos of any game they tried to play together.
he knows the fear of showing off your art to someone else but he loves everything about sua's art. he knows he could stare at it the piece constantly and find something new to admire. his praises of it are genuine and he knows he wouldn't lie about what he thinks of someone's art.
"you're welcome." he smiles. he knows he feels the nerves himself when showing his art but he trusts sua. if it were anyone else, then he'd be more hesitant to even show off what he was working on. sua was a fellow artist though so he didn't mind at all.
his smile spread more, pleased to hear the praises from her. sure even with art, there was always more to learn and he had been trying something new for every piece he did. "thanks. it took way too many tries to get it to that point." he chuckles some. "genshin impact. that game inspires me a lot actually especially with all the details the characters had." it pushed him to up his outfit game whenever he designed his own characters.
she gives a half-smile, pleased with his agreement and interest in it. sua will have to try and get it to happen then; it's nice to switch up streaming a little, and it's been a while since she's played a multiplayer game on stream. who knows what sort of fun chaos that could be.
always one to feel nervous when someone looks at her art, sua tries her best to appear nonchalant, even if she's gripping her tablet tighter in anticipation, staring at heechul's expression for any immediate changes in it. there doesn't seem to be, and he speaks praises for her detailing which makes her smile appear a bit more genuine.
"thank you," she says, pulling her tablet back to peer at it. giving herself a happy little hum, she sets her tablet back down, and then returns her attention to heechul when he showcases his own work.
"ooh," she says in an interested tone, leaning closer and letting her eyes move over his artwork. the style is different, unlike hers but has a charm that makes it nice to look at. her head cocks to the side, nodding in approval. "looks nice! i like the hair you went with." she gestures to it, leaning back. "what game?" sua asks, tilting her head with interest.

"i'd be all for it. it's been a bit since i've played a game alongside someone. sure our viewers would love it." heechul thought the idea was great. the last time he did a collab was with a friend of his from back home but he's been doing things solo for a bit now. besides he feels sua and him would get along well with doing a collab on stream together.
facecam is a good thing sometimes and he knows he only uses it sparingly. he doesn't like relying on it plus he's not the most comfortable having to show his face constantly. he gets doing so with gaming but for art, he doesn't find the need to have his face there though it doesn't stop his viewers from asking.
he found his eyes glinting to the art that sua was working on and found it amazing already. he let himself look over every single detail and instantly understood what sua meant with her art. "it's really good though and i can see the zelda inspirations." he really liked the way she sketched and it made him inspired to up his sketching a bit more. "it happens but it's great." he gives a soft smile.
he makes sure his own work is saved before turning his tablet toward her. "i kind of just tried to draw an oc of mine. wanted to focus on giving her a new hairstyle and outfit." he let her know as he tried to explain his sketch. he usually did a mix of fanart and oc work so it seemed he leaned into the oc art this time. "she's a bit inspired by games i like playing whenever i have the chance."
“if you ever wanna play a game together, let me know. multiplayer games always are better for views, i find.” sua comments after a moment of considering; everyone loves a good collab, every now and then. sua won’t lie and say she isn’t also partial to it. it is always nice to have someone else you’re talking to on stream rather than the bunch of people watching you.
“same,” sua agrees. she only uses facecam when she feels like it. it had been nice to do it for gaming streams, having everyone see her expressions change depending on what she did in the game. reacting content is still pretty popular, so she knows she raked in a few viewers from that alone. even if it also comes with it’s own problems.
saving her work on habit (you never know what could happen!), she twists the screen around to show heechul, straightening up a bit so she can peer at it a bit too. “it’s just a profile sketch. i started with thinking of zelda as the base, but she’s kinda evolved into her own thing.” maybe an alternate universe version. maybe she’ll make an oc out of it. she’s not sure yet. “i messed up on her ears, but…” sua shrugs. fixable.
she nods towards his stuff. “your turn.”

"same. wouldn't be able to stream well without them." heechul adds, his eyes focused back on his tablet. he knows if he didn't have mods, his streams would be going a different way. he usually didn't let much get to him but he could come off as pretty mean if he wanted to. he still something sometimes but he's gotten better and keeping certain thoughts to himself. he doesn't need to berate someone who hides behind a username and let his mods handle it.
"they do and know how to behave when in the stream." he nods a bit as he talks. it's always the newcomers who don't read the rules that end up breaking them. that's why he usually tells anyone who joins to read the rules first. he's not letting people think they can come into his stream and just do what they feel. "sounds like a plan. might do that myself. sure my viewers wanna see me finish the piece i started last stream. might play a game myself if i remember." he speaks, his hand gliding across the tablet screen as he tries to get the hand drawn right. "that could work. plus it's not to experiment with that sometimes. i know i only use face cam when i feel up to it." he knows the viewers like to see his face but there are times where he doesn't wanna worry about his face being shown and just focus on what he's doing. besides changing things a bit with streaming was nice to do once in awhile.
heechul won't mind showing sua his art plus he liked it honestly. it needed more work but he didn't feel like erasing the whole thing. "that's good though. mine is going good so far." he admitted as he glanced at his tablet. "sure! i can show you mine as well if you'd like."
“i’d be nothing without my mods, honestly.” sua agrees, giving a little sigh. the amount of times she’s been saved by not having to manually time out or ban someone– or worse, when she just lets her mouth run when she sees it’s still sitting in chat or the person’s still yapping away. sua’s been doing this a while, but she still struggles with just ignoring certain things and letting things go. sometimes people are so stupid in chat. she can’t help it. she has to say something.
“long time viewers know what’s coming, what to expect.” she lists off. and he’s right– usually, it’s the newcomers that tend to get mouthy or start going off for xyz. they’re also more likely to backseat, which is definitely something sua doesn’t hesitate to ban if it’s a repeat offender. “i’ll just focus on art this week. if there aren’t any weirdos in chat maybe, i’ll squeeze in a game at the end of the week.” she’s mostly just saying it outloud for herself. “that sounds good. maybe i won’t even facecam either.” it’s an experiment she’ll have to make. see what changes in her streaming schedule and type she’ll have to make. maybe nothing will change at all– maybe it’s just the culture of streaming in general.
sua hums, leaning back a bit. her gaze drops down to her tablet, then back up to him. “it’s going okay,” to be honest, she’s messed up a little, too lost in her venting. it’s nothing she can’t fix and clean up, though. “wanna see?”

"mine too but there's always those who don't listen to rules." he's dealt with it many times which makes him appreciate his more chill streams more. his mods make it easier though since he knew he would have quit ages ago without them. "it is. like if we ask then go ahead and tell us but don't do so otherwise. that ruins playing the game for me especially if they spoil important points as well for games that have a story or twist ending." it had made him avoid certain games in the past.
sure he may not always have to deal with people who seems to step the line when it comes to getting banned but he knows there are times where it feels like so many people come to his stream just to push his buttons. he just wants to draw or game while interacting with chat. he doesn't need to worry about having to ban or time out anyone. besides at least a lot of the steams he's done hasn't been too much of a headache for him.
"they do any chance they get. long time viewers don't seem to do that." he goes back to making sure the hair is how he wants before moving on to another part of the drawing. his stylus moving across the tablet to create the strokes he was hoping for with his art. "honestly, same. not something i'd do but i'd applaud them for even trying." he just follows rules since that is what he knows. he blames that on the job he does since he has a lot of rules to follow there. "that might help. i'd do the same to help get them out." sure neither of them could escape it all but it would lessen the amount.
heechul almost chuckles at seeing sua trying to look at his art. "it's going well. at least i don't hate it." he laughs some. "how about you? going well over there?"
“backseating is a no-no in my streams unless i ask,” sua mumbles. she learned that the hard way starting out. heechul is right– some viewers love to speak nonsense in the chat and backseat just because they can. it still happens, but it’s also an easy time out or a ban for repeat offenders. “it’s very annoying. like, i get that they’re excited and want to talk about it or it’s their favorite thing or whatever, but like–ugh.” she sighs, irritation radiating off of her.
sua is sure she’s go insane without her mods. or most of her streams would just be reacting to chat and banning anyone who pissed her off; which…might be fun, maybe. but she doesn’t want to do that all the time. she wants to talk about things she likes and have fun with her viewers without the need to have to defend every decision she makes or be criticized for everything. she’s playing games or drawing half the time.
“they really like to see what they can get away with.” her stylus slides across her tablet with ease, practiced and patient despite the ire in her tone. “if it didn’t annoy me as much, i’d almost be impressed but…” one shoulder lifts in a shrug. it’s possible she just isn’t patient enough, or her skin isn’t as thick as she thought. “maybe i should just stick with art streams for a week, or something. try and weed out the weirdos.” she doesn’t think it’s a catch all end all, but it might get some of them out of there.
sua glances up from her own work, to heechul’s– squinting as if she could see it from here. “how’s that going?” she asks, curious.

heechul could feel himself nodding easily. it sucks they both dealt with people acting this way during streams. it was apart of it all it seemed and usually he had pretty chill streams but there were always bad apples trying to ruin everything. "seems so! there's always the backseat gamer who love trying to tell you how to play the game and spoil things. they make me mad." just one of his pet peeves since it seemed some new viewers didn't seem to follow the rules that were made for a stream. maybe it was the subject matter he drew but it wasn't going to stop him from drawing the things he loved. "it really is! thank god we have mods who are there to deal with that all for us. i'd go insane without them, i swear"
"that's true. my mods made sure to do what they can but i'm making sure to time out or ban others if they don't follow the rules i have set." heechul sighs, finding himself looking over the art he's doing before he'd changing how the hair is flowing on the character. it isn't quite right so he fixes it before he starts doubting himself. the joys of doing art but he loves every minute of it regardless.
"seems so which i wish wasn't as common." he mutters, cracking a bit of a smile as he satisfied with how everything looks. seems inking is the next step now. hopefully he doesn't dislike the drawing after that. "i do. it just so aggravating honestly. my mods were the ones who made the commands since i didn't know what i was doing. they'd been lifesavers since i started streaming." he'd be stuck if he didn't ask some people close to him to mod his streams. "of course but those people love doing what they can to say certain things. i have a few words that are just banned from being said since i know the trick they'll try." he knew some loved saying things that tried to push the rules but he wasn't going to play that game. "i couldn't agree more. yeah, at least my recurring viewers respect the rules and are kind."
“it’s just– ugh.” sua’s eyes roll back, scowl crossing her face as she huffs. “they’re just so chill when i’m drawing, but as soon as i load up a game, i swear the crazies come out.” she’s spent a long time wondering why; maybe she’s bad at gaming in general, maybe she’s choosing the wrong games, maybe it’s just because she’s a girl in a space mostly dominated by males and that’s just how they treat women in the space. there could be a lot of reasons for it, but it doesn’t piss her off any less. “ignoring them is the thing to do but my god! it’s so hard.”
“my mods just tell me to time out and move on, that most of them are trolls anyway. which is probably right. i end up banning them anyway.” sua snorts, then promptly groans when she messes up the ear on the profile she’s working on. grumbling under her breath, she quiets as she fixes it– listening to heechul instead when he talks about his own issues.
“new viewers tend to do that.” she comments mildly, breathing a sigh of relief when she can move onto the next detail. sketch saved. “which is still aggravating. do you have like, commands in place for mods to help you with that? lowkey saved my life.” she mumbles the last bit. though she grimaces at the pervy things, shaking her head. “yuck. do you have rules for that? you should, if you didn’t already.” she’d think heechul would– that’s pretty standard across the board; but sometimes people like to push loop holes for their own nefarious reasons. “that’d get an instant ban in my chat. i’m sorry people are gross.”

"it can be. noticed the annoyances a few times during a few streams." heechul speaks as he listens to sua intently keeping his gaze on his own tablet, his stylus gliding across the screen as he inks a drawing he feels he's spend eons on. "i get that. i've had a few myself and i usually ignore them. i can believe it. you deserve that but people love just being jerks." he mutters since he knows too many who love requesting him to draw different things when he hadn't even asked for requests. he's thankful for the mods he has though. "i get that though. i've felt the same ways before myself."
he understands that it's just complaining but he's felt the same way before. it doesn't stop him from streaming but it never fails to frustrate him when some people don't listen to his rules. he appreciates that sua trust him to talk about all this though.
looking at her briefly, he thinks carefully about what he has gripes with. he has a lot of different things that get on his nerves. "hmm, i really don't like when new viewers don't read the rules i have. i get being new but i wish they'd learn when to request art. also the jerks who come in with the idea that i have to draw pervy things because it's what they like as a fellow male. it's happened more times then i'd like to admit." he breaths out before focusing back on his tablet.
cats on mars. feat. @beheechul
"i like streaming, but it can be so annoying sometimes." sua scowls down at her tablet, her stylus moving over the screen in sharp motions as she sketches. "like, my art streams are usually fine. i get a jerk every once in a while-- but when i just want to sit and relax and be parasocial, i get the worst people ever when i game. it's so..." she trails off with a roll of her eyes and annoyed scoff. "people are just...ugh. maybe i'm not built for this. should i just ignore viewers? should i just stick to edited vods?"
sua's just complaining, really. heechul would understand to some degree, considering they're both into the same space. she won't stop streaming just because of a few dumb chatters (her pride wouldn't dare let her), but it's nice to get it off her chest sometimes.
"what about you? you have anything to gripe about?" sua jokes, eyes lifting from her tablet briefly to the other, then back down.
