Unfortunately it didn't make it into the finalist round, but I'm still glad to have the piece to add to my cannabis inspired illustrations. We'll see if I have the time to participate next year. The rest of the photos are from the painting process, including when the bottle of orange ink exploded on the aquaboard and I almost had a heart attack 😱🤯🤬 that was stressful AF. The last pic is the digital color test I did before starting the painting. The final result is a mixed media piece; @jacquardproducts alcohol inks and sharpie on an 18x24" aquaboard, photographed and finished digitally on my iPad in Procreate.
