Anyway… it’s almost Friday… and I took Friday off because, I reiterate, ahhhh…

I’m really tempted to write a fic for Goddess Bless You From Death based solely on the scene in the teaser where Pooh’s character is drawing at the table and Pavel’s comes to him.

Of course, I need to hammer out Price Paid first 🙃 this last chapter has been giving me trouble and I fully blame Fallout… my mind is in the commonwealth and the Mojave 😅😅😅

I also hope to get at least a couple fics out for WinTeam — or SandRay — hell, maybe toss a SynNuer into the mix for good measure. Plus I still have a few CharlieBabe in the pipeline.

Riven is the most awkward motherfucker ALIVE. He constantly stutters and repeats words around the girl he likes, accidentally pisses her off because he's terrible at talking, cannot handle expressing soft emotions unless the object of that affection isn't looking at him—I can go on forever. This man could not flirt if his life depended on it

Now do I find this endearing and cute? Yes. Does that mean anything for his ability to flirt? No, he's completely hopeless "it looks warm"—Riven attempting to compliment Musa's ability to pick out hats, please, how can one man be so stupid

Musa is NOT any better. Her definition of flirting is acting like she and the object of her affection are already in a relationship. Which, no Musa, that's just confusing. The girl is clingy as fuck and thinks people should be able to read her mind or else

HAHAHA YOU FOOL YOU HAVE FALLEN INTO MY TRAP. ok ok so right now I'm really into Little Big Planet, especially like the third game. And there's this stupid lightbulb who has daddy issues and than is instantly forgotten. I always like the game I've always loved watching people play multiplayer levels together but I've only recently found out it has a story mode. My ADHD is like draw this thing 50 times than instantly drop it to draw this other thing 50 times than remember your last weeks obsession.

Kris’s Requisite End of the Year Post

Look, guys, it’s 4.5 hours until 2021 here, and I’m already lit so LET’S DO THIS

First of all, I want to thank you all for sticking with me and following this humble little fic blog. Especially after I finally revealed how old I actually am. You guys are the reason this blog is what it is, and I thank you for it.

THAT BEING SAID, I am so so so so sorry that I haven’t updated that much this year. This year has been, to put it mildly, a flaming bag of poop. Ben’s dad died, then Corona and its related shutdowns happened, I suddenly found myself being Allyson’s teacher, we had to put Franklin down, and then Allyson grew (I shit you not) four inches this last year and we had a really hard time getting her meds adjusted. All while she was getting ready to transition into junior high. Oh, and I became way more high-maintenance health wise: Heart murmur, gastritis, my cholesterol is too high and my vitamin D is too low. 

But good things happened this year, too! I got to hang out with Ben and Ally more. I did more of my first favorite hobby, counted cross stitch, and picked up embroidery along the way. Ben got a new job with a huge pay increase and a pretty sweet benefits package. I had a pretty nice, quiet birthday this year. And, somehow, I finally got a handle on my anxiety.

The trick to that last one is something my therapist told me to do, and a friend of mine IRL did too: I gave it a name. if you give it a name, you can address it; if you give it a stupid name, you don’t take it as seriously. I named my anxiety during a rewatch of Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Mangy Carl. Ben knows that if I say “knock it off, Mangy Carl” then I might need to be talked out of whatever spiral I’m about to enter into. 

So I’m entering into 2021 with a sense of cautious optimism, and the sincere hope that Mangy Carl keeps his distance.

Oh, I guess I should tell you the shows we watched this year:

- Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Psych - The Office (Ben had never watched before this year, but now he loves it; Allyson is similarly obsessed) - The Good Place (I relate to Chidi a little too well) - Frasier (that show still holds up)

Also, I have had some great times in the Unofficially Official Lamptracker Group Chat on Discord. It’s here if you’d care to join us! We’re a tad obsessed with Stray Kids at the moment so if you don’t care for Kpop you’re gonna have to suck it up.

But anyway, this year! This year I resolve to write more, eat less, and exercise more. Maybe I’ll read more books? (Hahaha, my ADHD won’t let that happen.)

Last book I read: Children of Time by Adrian Tchaivosky, a really really well done (if kinda unsettling) sci-fi novel, but ngl i want to talk about the book i read before that which is An Absolutely Remarkable Thing (and its sequel) by Hank Green which was FANTASTIC like hands down one of the best books i’ve read in a long time and if you’re looking for something fun and easy while also tackling serious real world problems (like the dangers of social media) then i HIGHLY recommend it, like honestly even if that’s not something you’re looking just go read it anyway!!!

Top 3 fictional universes I’d love to live in: 1. Harry Potter. kinda goes without saying haha, i want to be able to do magic 2. ATLA, (like only if i’m a bender tho lol) 3. hmm Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. It was one of my fav serious as a kid and I always longed to live in that sort of intelligent pre-historic age, and the world michelle paver creates feels so damn realistic, and i just feel like i’d thrive in that sort of world, tbh (i think the adhd would help lmao)
