#rant #zhenhun #its funny to me i can tell i prefer reading certain writing styles in chinese when i cant fully comprehend all yet jsjd #i do wonder if its partly just. what i read first/most #cause i read like 150 pages provably of priest in chinese and like 100 chapters of the other author #so a bulk of my reading practice has been rheir writing #so possibly part of my preference is just being more familiar with their style?#maybe even Just priests style. and sinxe that initial exposure i go for people who write more like priest?#idk. but i do know theres one really 'easy' webnovel writer that gets recced #and i hate their writing style. so much. i hate reading it.#so theyre not really Easy for me to read xause i hate trying to focus on their stuffm i just cant do it #i do suspect part of it. is priest and author above who does pingxie fic #they use idioms and their own metaphors ans imagery #but in a very Clearly Intuitive way? in the sense they will tepeat their main idea a few ways. and will use #a description that makes sense given the context. or is an idiom that can be figured out from its component parts and the surroundint #context. like. not a lot of 'common but nonsensical sayings if u never heard them' but instead #stuff y can read and VISUALIZE and rhen interprer #like he swayed like a mushroon. he turned red and stiff like a coffin.#originating from nowhere. a city like a demon with its face paintef witj makeup.#theyre just easier to interpret even with no prior context
